Chapter 8
After the cell door closed, Dr. Segal exited the facility, got into a car and drove away. He was listening to some music, then he heard a beeping sound. He looked up and saw the seatbelt warning light was flashing. He noticed the light was on the backseat, so he adjusted the rearview mirror and he saw Mal0.
He screamed in fear and lost control of his car. The car veered off the road and crashed into the concrete divider in the middle of the road. The next morning, Daniel woke up to the sound of the cell door opening. Standing in the doorway was Dr. Gears. He was holding a bouquet of flowers and a note.
"Mr Anderson? In case you forget, we met yesterday." "Yes, I remember." Dr. Gears then encouraged Daniel to follow him towards the exit. "Do you remember Dr. Segal?" Daniel nods and says: "Yes. Did anything happen?" "Unfortunately, last night Dr. Segal crashed his car. He's currently in critical condition, but he should be fine."
Daniel's eyes widened and he says: "Holy shit. But what's that got to do with me?" "Before Dr. Segal crashed his car, a lot of strange things happened yesterday. I would like you to take these things, and give them to him at the hospital." "But he told me that the higher up wants me to stay here, until I get my memory back."
Dr. Gears clears his throat before saying: "I am aware, but today I'm making a exception. Go to the hospital, talk to Dr. Segal and come right back. Do you understand?" Daniel sighs and says: "Yes." He takes the flowers and note, got into a truck and it drove towards the hospital. After arriving, Daniel follows a strike team into the hospital.
Daniel says to the receptionist: "Excuse me? Where is Dr. Segal?" The receptionist tells Daniel the room number and the team marched towards it.
