Chapter 9
When Daniel walked into the hospital room, the strike team stood outside and guarded the entrance. He saw Dr. Segal lying on the bed with a cast around his upper body. "Daniel? Why are you here?" says Dr. Segal. "Dr. Gears asked me to give you these," Daniel says as he places the flowers in a pot nearby, as well as giving him the note.
The note says: "You are put on three month disciplinary leave for the irresponsible use of SCP 914. Get well soon. Dr. Gears." After placing the note next to the flowers, Dr. Segal says: "So, he knows what we tried to do. Right?" "What you tried to do? Yes, he does. I'm guessing that's why he asked me to talk to you."
"Talk to me about what?" Daniel clears his throat before saying: "Dr. Gears said that after you put my phone into the machine, some strange things happened yesterday. Do you know what that means?" Dr. Segal looked around before saying: "I do. Remember that I wanted to bring SCP 1471 into the real world?"
Daniel nodded and says: "Yes. What are you trying to say?" Dr. Segal took a deep breath before saying: "I think it worked." "What do you mean?" "You wanna know why I crashed my car last night? It's because I saw her! In my car! She scared me so much, that I lost control and crashed!" Daniel looks at Dr. Segal with a confused face.
"Are you sure you didn't imagine it?" "No! I'm telling you the truth! Honestly!" Suddenly, there was a notification on Daniel's phone. He looks at it and sees a text message from Mal0. The message says: "Hi friend." "Uh, since you like 1471 so much, does it send text messages?" says Daniel. Dr. Segal looks at the phone and says: "No. It's never done that before."
Suddenly, Mal0 appears in the middle of the room and both Daniel and Dr. Segal's eyes widened. She slowly walks towards Daniel, he then says: "Wait. What do you want from me?" Mal0 stops, then she says: "I want to help you remember." "Help me remember what?" "Everything." She quickly grabbed Daniel and pulled him into a hug.
Dr. Segal stared in shock and confusion. Daniel's heart was beating out of his chest. The strike team outside the room saw what was happening and they ran in shouting: "Freeze!" Mal0 let go of Daniel and turned to the strike team. The team pulled out some tazers and approached her. One of them went to attack, but Mal0 dodged and used her claws to cut his neck.
Blood spewed out of the wound and the soldier collapsed. The other two soldiers backed away, but Mal0 slowly approached them. "Do something Daniel!" says Dr. Segal. Daniel looked around for something to use against Mal0. He finds a blue needle and sneaks up to her. Before she had the chance to strike, Daniel jabs Mal0 with the needle.
She turns to him and pulls out the needle. "Why did you do that? I thought we were friends." Suddenly, Mal0 collapsed and her eyes slowly closed.
