Chapter 16

After a hour of driving, Daniel arrived at his home. He got out the truck and stared at it. A few memories came back and he remembered there was a spare key. He picked up a stone, found the key and used it to open the door. He then ran back to the truck, grabbed Mal0 and carried her inside the house.

Daniel places her down on a sofa and looks around. Most of his memories were coming back to him. "How much can you remember?" He looked down and saw Mal0 was awake. "Mal0! How are you feeling?" says Daniel. "I'm fine. You don't have to worry about me, I can handle anything." "But you fell from a great height. I thought you were going to die!"

Mal0 grabs Daniel's hand, then she says: "I did die. A long time ago. Do you remember?" He nods his head and there was a knock on the front door. Daniel walks over and opens it. Standing outside is Dr. Gears. Behind him is a truck, inside it is a mobile strike team of soldiers. They all watched as he spoke to Daniel.

"Mr Anderson. I see you've remembered the house you grew up in. Can I come in?" "Why?" says Daniel. "I know that SCP 1471 is inside the house. Also, if you don't comply, then I can order the men in the truck to storm the house and take 1471 back to the Foundation." Daniel sighs and says: "Ok. Come in already."

Dr. Gears walks in the house and sees Mal0 sitting on the sofa. "Glad to see you're still alive and kicking." Mal0 growled at him, but Daniel walks in and says: "Wait! Calm down. He just wants to talk." Mal0 closes her mouth and glares at Dr. Gears. He walks over and sits at a table. "Please, have a seat." Daniel walks over and sits at the table as well.

"Mr Anderson, you have an interesting case. Your "new" relationship with SCP 1471 has intrigued some powerful people." "Let me guess, the higher up?" "Actually, they're called: "The O5 Council." Anyway, they've asked me to offer you a deal." Daniel looks at Dr. Gears suspiciously and says: "What kind of deal?"

Dr. Gears pulls out a contract and places it on the table. "If you sign this, you will be SCP 1471's owner. And she will be allowed to stay here with you, for as long as you like. But if you don't sign it, then we're going to take 1471 back with us. And then she will be contained and some D-Class personal can experiment on her."

Daniel looked at Mal0, she looked sad and scared at the same time. He looked back at Dr. Gears and says: "Do you have a pen?" Dr. Gears pulls out a pen from his lab coat and places it on the table. Daniel picks it up and uses it to sign his name. "Are we done now?" says Daniel. Dr. Gears grabs the contract and his pen, before they both shook hands. "Yes. We are done."

Daniel watches as Dr. Gears got into the truck, before it drove off. After closing the front door, he turns around and sees that Mal0 had disappeared again. "Mal0? Where'd you go?" He then notices that the back door was open. He walks outside and sees a dog house. He reaches inside and pulls out a dog collar.

Daniel remembers that his pet wolf wore the same collar. However, the name tag was torn off. He then looked up and saw Mal0 staring at him from the nearby woods. She slowly turned around and walks into the woods. Daniel puts the collar in his pocket, before running after Mal0. After a few minutes of searching, he finally finds her.

Daniel's eyes widened at what he saw. He saw Mal0 staring at a wolf skeleton, one of it's legs was stuck in a bear trap. He quickly realises who it is. It was the puppy's mother. Daniel covers his mouth in shock and looks up at Mal0. He then realises that what he said to his dad was wrong. He knew the real truth about Mal0.

SCP 1471, was Daniel's pet wolf!
