Chapter 18
Daniel remembered what happened that night and stares at Mal0. He then started to cry and says: "Oh Mal0! I'm so sorry! It's all my fault!" Mal0 slowly walked up to Daniel. He expected her to hurt him, but instead she pulls him in for a hug. "Please don't say that. It wasn't your fault." "But it was! I could have gotten a gun and save you! But I was too scared!"
Mal0 lets go of Daniel and says: "I understand why you think you're the one to blame, but you're wrong. Your dad stole me from my mum, then he sent The Wendigo to kill you, so I tried to save you. It was their fault this happened to me, not you." Daniel wipes away some tears and says: "Ok then, you're right. But I am sorry that I hurt your feelings."
"It's ok. You did say we can be friends again, right?" "Yes, I did. BFF?" Mal0 leans towards Daniel and says: "Best Friends Forever." She then grabs his hand and they walk back to the house. Daniel sits on the sofa and Mal0 walks up the stairs. "Mal0? What are you doing?" "I'm going to have a bath. I haven't had one in ages."
Daniel smells his armpit and says: "Me too. I'll have one after you, ok?" Mal0 nods and walks into the bathroom. She turns on the taps and the bath fills up with water. Meanwhile, Daniel decides to make some dinner. He turns on the oven, puts some sausage and chips in it and closes the door. Upstairs, Mal0 turns off the taps and climbs in the bath.
She uses some shampoo to wash all of her hair. After a few minutes, she climbs out of the bath, wraps a towel around her and walks downstairs. "Hey? Can you watch the oven while I'm in the bath?" says Daniel. Mal0 nods and watches as he walks upstairs. Daniel gets into the bath and used soap to wash himself.
Mal0 watched the dinner cook, after a few minutes she turns off the oven. She then pulls the dinner out of the oven and puts it on a plate. Daniel then got out of the bath, got changed into some clothes and walked downstairs. When he got down, he saw Mal0 sitting at the table; waiting for him to eat some dinner.
Daniel smiles and sits down at the table. Before he started eating, Mal0 says: "Can I have a sausage please?" She then tilted her head and made a whimpering sound. Daniel realises she's giving him puppy dog eyes. He then sighs and says: "Ok then. Here you go." He picks up a sausage, Mal0 opens her mouth and Daniel throws it in.
As she eats the sausage, he says: "Good girl." Mal0 giggles and says: "It's just like old times." After eating dinner, Daniel says: "Well, I'm going to bed now. Feel free to make yourself comfortable. Goodnight Mal0." When he went to walk upstairs, Mal0 grabbed his hand and says: "Wait. Can I sleep with you, please?"
Daniel sighs and says: "Alright then, let's go." They both walked upstairs and into the bedroom. He got into bed and she just stood and watched. After Daniel got comfortable, Mal0 climbed onto the bed and crawled on her hands and knees towards him. "Mal0? What are you doing?" says Daniel. She continued crawling until she was right on top of him.
"After all of these years, there is something I've always wanted to say to you," says Mal0. "What's that?" Suddenly, Mal0 leans forward and kisses Daniel. "I love you." She then climbs under the bed cover and hugged him. Daniel felt his heart beating outside of his chest. He then smiles and hugs her back.
"Well in that case, I love you too." Mal0's tail was wagging after he said that. Daniel reaches up and gives her some head pats. Then they both closed their eyes and fell asleep.
