A/N: Welcome to chapter five of the first act. We are nearing completion of the academy years. Unfortunately I still don't own the Naruto franchise. Uzumaki Compound, six months later
Mito Uzumaki was sitting in the garden with a relaxed expression as Naruto and Hatsumi did their morning workouts. Some crazy Taijutsu Practitioners would say Quantity is everything but not for the Uzumaki. The Uzumaki always trained in high intensity interval training cycles, HiiT for short. Each cycle would consist of seven to ten exercises. All of them would be done for 90 seconds with a 30 second rest period. After each full round they would engage in a light spar. After a short break and some water they started anew. Naruto currently was completing his Thrusters with a chakra weight in hand and the seals on his clothing he worked up a good seat. His expression was focussed but he was still in a good mood.
He is eleven now and as a birthday present and reward he was allowed to unseal his next mentor.
Flashback start
Mito Uzumaki stood in the room where they stored the clan secrets and looked at a giddy Naruto who couldn't hold back and began to speak.
"Here we are Mito Sensei, come on. What is it? Is it some super secret Uzumaki Clan secret you want to teach me that Hatsumi Chan wasn't allowed to be here? Ow. I Know it. You want to tell me the secret behind your Byakugō no In?"
Before Naruto could ramble more Mito sighed and held her Hands up to calm him down a little bit.
"You really are her Son, she was as energetic as you. No. The Byakugō no In is something we will tackle at a later date. Today we will summon the next mentor of the currently available mentor scrolls."
With these words she got to a Tresor and did some signs and laid her hand on it. A Fuinjutsu formula spreaded and expanded under her hand. Motion looked to Naruto and motioned to the circle appearing next to the one she laid her hand on.
"You have to channel your Chakra there Naruto Kun. I can't use it much as you know."
The blonde nodded and followed her instructions to the letter channeling precise amounts, slowly and controlled as much as he could in the seal till both could hear a silent click. The wall split in the middle alongside a line in the seal and swung inwards.
For the first time Mito showed Naruto the treasury of his clan.
Neatly on a shelf stacked where scrolls of different sizes.
From the small ones mostly used for Equipment to the 55 inches Scrolls.
One of them was open and glowing on a nearby table. Here Mito had put down her own scroll after getting summoned by Naruto. She had asked him to stay out of the treasury til she allowed him in to not endanger the process for the scroll to work. She held him back as he wanted to storm into the room. This time her expression was understanding.
"Hey little Whirlpool. Don't rush it okay?"
Naruto pouted a bit but nodded in the next moment as Mito took hold of another 55 inches scroll and nodded to Naruto to take some steps out of the treasury. They left the door open, so Mito could lay the scroll back there where it was safe after unsealing the 'contents', and got outside. Here she laid the scroll carefully on the grass taking two steps back.
"Okay Naruto Kun your turn. Unroll it. Put some blood in the center blood seal and start channeling chakra for the release." Mito said and Naruto was trying to hold back his excitement. He stumbled a bit as he took his steps to the scroll knitting his thumb to draw some blood letting it fall in the center of the circle. He put his hand down, channeling chakra and shouting.
"Release"
After the usual sound of a summoning and the smoke he was face to face with two people.
One of them is wearing a white Haori with the Kanji for Yondaime on the back over a Konoha Jonin attire, sun kissed spikey blonde hair and a Tri pronged Kunai in Hand. The other person was a woman in her twenties. The red hair in a high ponytail, a porcelain mask with a kitsune face on it. She wore the same Jonin Outfit as the man. Outsiders would say she wore it far better, because her uniform was clinging to her attractive and fit body and form. The bot stood back to back and looked for the person summoning them. As tier eyes fell on Naruto both became big grins.
"Naru Chan!"
"Musuko!"
Both proud parents engulfed him in a big hug. Naruto was crying tears of joy.
Flashback end
After he got both his parents up to speed on what happened his father wanted to flash to the Hokagetower to rip some people a new one but Kushina and Mito could convince him what a bad idea that would be. The Yondaime clone rubbed the back of his head and grinned after that a bit roguish. After that followed the ideas both of them had and what they wanted Naruto to train in. Both would pick up his modern shinobi Training. They have more chakra on hand to help him with Jutsu and Chakra control. Kushina would show him the chains so to speak, teaching him all the fine points in handling them. Minato would build on Shisui's Foundation with the Shunshin. Teaching Naruto his two signature moves would follow later after Minato knew he got the Substitution and Shunshin down so he would be safer the next time he had to fight against stronger foes.
Naruto just finished his burpees of the last set of exercises looking at an exhausted Hitsumi laying in the grass as one of his manager clones got to him. Each morning he would make clones in the group of 12 with an additional clone with more chakra. This clone would coordinate the dispelling of his clones with the other that system The risk of Information overload was significantly reduced. All groups worked more efficiently because if one clone got something new right or a breakthrough on the exercise he would inform the group leader clone and after that dispel. If the Group got under ten the manager clone would summon new Kage Bunshin. Naruto was a bit surprised as the manager of the research group two got to him.
"Hey Bossman. Before the Group wanted to dispel I think we should get Mito Sensei, Kaa Chan and Tou san together. I think we have something which could lead us to our Master Certification."
The Naruto Clone was comically very serious. Something Naruto was shocked about. He experimented with the Kage Bunshin very much. The resonance of the Chakra and everything was the basis for his communication scroll he just nodded and collected his parents and Mito Sensei. Mito and Kushina were in the progress to develop a new Mentor scroll where the amount of chakra was provided by the summoner. Each time the needed amount defined by the creator was given, a clone would be summoned.
It was still a work in progress but the three seal masters were positive to make it happen.
After some trouble including a frying pan Kushina had thrown at Minato because he wanted to finish with his group of clones working at stage one of the Rasengan and not listen to her which required Naruto to go to the treasury and resummon him and Kushina with an abashed expression to apologize all where standing together with the Research Group.
The Group had set up a black board with a human body model beside it.
All looked expectant to Naruto who just pointed to the manager clone.
He cleared his throat and nodded, putting his fits in his hand to pump himself up a bit.
"Yosh, Thank you everyone. Mito Sensei, Kaa Chan, Tou San. Boss Mann. We Research clones think we have something that could revolutionize Fuinjutsu. But before I can present our findings let me lunge out so everyone can follow me."
He took a step to the side to take a stick one of the clones holded for him to point at the body model which showed all chakra points.
"Thanks to the Hyuga we know that the human body has 361 Tenketsu. When we use Chakra for Jutsu, we have to channel them through different Tenketsu. We used our Minds Eye of the Kagura technique trying to pinpoint which location was active during a simple Jutsu like the Henge. We tried different things. Used all or just one Handsign. None Handseal at all. In the end and after sacrificing many clones. FOR SCIENCE!"
He yelled the last part as the group of his clones seemed to salute their 'fallen' comrades till the clone resumed his lecture looking each of the group in the eye, just to be sure he had their attention.
"We used a combination of a new symbol language we came up out of boredom, enlisting the help of Hinata Chan Boss man asked which Tenketsu where active while doing the Henge and last but not least the many Brothers…"
The other clones again saluted and mumbled something like: 'they will not be forgotten'.
The Lecture was drawing to an epic end because the clone played with the volume of his voice leading to a little crescendo.
"...who had to be sacrificed in learning the absorption technique and linking it with a reference matrix we have on this Tag the Henge to change into none other than the old Man. We have found a way to translate Jutsu to Fuinjutsu. We are awesome. We are one."
All clones cheered together giving everyone around a big headache. Naruto began dispelling group after group sorting and absorbing all information till he panted from the mental exercise.
He wordlessly took the tag placing it on his wrist and activating he changed into Hiruzen Sarutobi including the pipe and Hokage robes. He stopped channeling Chakra in it and fainted from mental exhaustion in the next Moment.
Scene Break, with Hatsumi, Konoha Forest
Hatsumi wore another Kimono, this one was in a forest green and short arms and going over her knees. As Naruto she was in good spirits. Her talk with Kushina the day before was exciting to say the least.
Flashback start
Kushina stood before Hatsumi, Naruto was on his way to talk with his friends and the two women had some time for a private talk.
Hatsumi was the first to talk.
„Kushina I mean I love to see you here but how?"
Hatsumi looked the red haired woman in her eyes and the questions were seemingly present on her face.
Kushina was smiling.
„Fuinjutsu is awesome, isn't it dattebane!
Koto Chan, you look very good in my Kimono. I mean. Look at you."
She swooned around her, correcting some misplaced linens. Laying one hand on her waist and hugging her.
„Narrow at all the right places. That brings back memories. You know the good ones before you had to marry that brick of a husband."
Hatsumi was blushing slightly as she remembered the days but was unable to slow her friend down.
Kushina Uzumaki was still talking.
„Do you remember the Day of Minato's Birthday before you had to warm Fugaku's bed? I have to say that I am not a woman to share something so precious but for you I always had a soft spot. We both were nearly unable to walk the next day"
Hatsumi's face was nearly the same color as her hair now. She had all those pictures in her head at the moment and was trying hard not to fall to deep in the memory as Kushina's chuckle and hand on her shoulder got her back out.
„Koto Chan. How I missed that! You were always easy to tease. You look like a tomato now. Ahh good times. You still have that weakness"
She was tapping Hatsumi with one of her chains and with all her mental strength Hatsumi took two steps back.
„Kushina Enough now. I don't know what to say about that at the moment we have other things to talk about" she meekly responded.
Kushina chuckled a bit and smiled mischievously.
„I see. And yes we have." was the answer of the former Jinchuuriki. Both women talked about different things but mostly Hatsumi updated her friend about the life of Naruto from her Point of View. But after that they made plans for his further development and to maybe get some payback on different people in the village.
Flashback end
Hatsumi was on her way to find an old Uzumaki temple. Kushina said that the temple could have some things in store for them to use or be better stored in the compound. So she made her way there only to sense something following her. She took some turns to throw them off but to no avail. Hatsumi prepared herself, unsealing her seal bag quickly, throwing privacy seals on the edges in a four corner barrier style.
Her tail arrived in the form of six blank face masked operatives. One of them spoke without any clear emotions or indicators for the speaker's gender.
„Hatsumi Uzumaki, you are ordered to present yourself to Lord Danzo."
Hatsumi Hildes one hand to her mouth and giggles.
„What lewd thoughts does the old man have about little Hatsumi Chan?" she used her best and seductive voice to push the root agents of their game.
The leader was confused. All his training told him that the objective would cry and beg for mercy or just refuse. Never in all of the existence of root an objective was as willing as this one.
He made some steps to her who's his team in tow all before her, all looking in her amethyst colored eyes.
The leader reached for the still standing woman just to fall through a fading image of her. Only leaving back the scent of her perfume.
Six shouts of release followed very fast.
The mirage faded and they stood alone in the clearing. Before anyone could react the one agent farest to the left was left without a head.
The body slacking to the ground and quickly pooling in his own blood.
The five remaining switched to their stances. Just to see Hatsumi coming back into view. Now wearing a skintight black combat suite made of leather. The head of the six agents in her left hand while the right had a bloody katana. She smirked at those five remaining.
„Have none of you learned manners? You won't touch a woman without her consent. You may lose your head if you do."
She smirks and throws the head in their general direction just to follow it up with the tiger hand seal.
„Katon: Gōkakyū no Jutsu"
A Fireball with a two meter radius quickly consumed the head and one of the agents who seemingly was not reacting fast enough as his four comrades shunshined away.
They surrounded her quickly afterwards. Standing on all cardinal directions around Hatsumi, the Kunoichi could only chuckle.
"You know you should have saved him, but what to expect from mindless drones. My clones are holding a barrier around us. No reinforcements, no Information which could get to your leader. I really pity you. But enough talking. As one of my ancestors once said. Let's dance."
Hatsumi launched in the air, spinning around her own axis, starting her next Jutsu holding the tiger seal again.
"Katon: Hōsenka no Jutsu"
Eight fireballs total came out of her mouth. Two of them rushed at each of the root agents. One of them quickly launched a water bullet at them. The resulting steam blocked him from view for a moment as Hatsumi rushed at the northern enemy with Jonin speeds. Her Katana clashed with the Kunai of the Root Agent, just for him to gurgle up blood seconds later.
The sword sticking out through his stomach from the back, Hatsumi pulled it out before vanishing.
"You all were in my Illusion from the first place. Little Amateurs."
She sighed and vanished the two last root agents dropping dead seconds later with cuts in vital spots. She looked for the last one just in time to dodge a beast made of ink. An interesting Jutsu, with all that it may prove beneficial to keep one of them around.
Her eyes morphed to her Mangekyou State to put him to sleep and locate all the seals normally placed on Danzo's drones. Hatsumi put a stasis seal on him to stop chakra reactions of the root failsafe seals.
She would have to act fast. She took one look at him and got her brush out. Luckily Kushina studied Root Seals from the Hokage Archives. Danzo didn't change a thing to his officially operating days. Hatsumi countered the Emotion suppressor, Secret and Obedience Seal changing the target of the last to herself.
After double checking everything she woke him up, staying ready for everything.
The agent was disoriented for a second as he looked at her and got on one knee.
"Hatsumi Sama. How may I serve you today."
The Uzumaki relaxed a bit. Danzo's programming was deep so just undoing it was near impossible but changing the target and seals just a little bit with some strokes and a Genjutsu to cover the process was enough it seems.
"You remember being in the service of Danzu Shimura right?" The Agent nodded.
"What's your name?"
The Agent thought for a moment.
"Lord Danzo once named me Sai Hatsumi Sama."
The Uzumaki nodded that it could work.
"Good Sai. you will resume your post in root. Report back to your leader that your team was unable to locate me after entering the temple grounds. Your team agents were obliterated from security seals of the temple. You will propose to Danzo that it may be safer to observe me after ten squads vanished, after trying to bring me in. I see you are good with a brush. You will collect incriminating evidence of Danzo's actions and hideouts and report them to me on a regular basis when I am alone."
Sai, still on one knee gave a short curt nod
"Hai Hatsumi Sama, I will do as you command."
Hatsumi nodded. The seals would safe her secrets. The emotional suppressor would weaken over time and his emotions would come back. It was a gamble but she hoped Danzo's methods were still cruel enough to encourage his obedience to her.
"Good Sai. You have your mission. I will wait for your report." He gave him a dismissal wave with her hand just for him to shunshin away. The Uzumaki changed her attire again thinking about what she wanted to do here. She put her fist in her hand.
"Right. The temple" she thought and changed her direction to move to the Uzumaki temple.
With Naruto, Kushina, Mito and Minato at the Uzumaki compound at the same time
Kushina had the head of her son in her lap while Minato and Mito analyzed the spare tag. The one used burned out after Naruto fainted.
"Do you understand something Mito Sama?" Minato asked as he looked at the scribbles with a curious expression.
The former wife of the Shodai slowly shook her head. Kushina gaped about that, but didn't stop caressing her son's hair.
"Mito Baa San. Really now? My Son developed something you can't understand. After Ashina Sama you were hailed as the best of the clan. Dattebane"
Kushina was clearly excited and Minato was looking between the two Uzumaki then smiled brightly.
"Hah! My Son is better than two Uzumaki Sealing Queens."
Minato smiled brightly and showed his thumbs up with his best imitation of the nice guy pose he could muster. That was til he saw Kushina sickly smiling at him.
"Our Son, Minato Chan. You wanted to say our Son right?" Kushina's hair was standing up as it had a life of its own. Minato backpedaled quickly as he saw that expression. He really wouldn't want to be hit with a pan again.
"You are right Kushi Chan. Of Course our Son." He held his hand in a mock surrendering gesture. He was always scared of her when she was like this. His body was shaking a bit remembering the abuse she put him through as he displeased her in the past.
The three tried to decipher the scribbles for nearly two hours till Naruto stirred a bit. The young blonde Uzumaki was slowly opening his eyes looking in his mothers eyes.
"Huh, Kaa Chan? What happened?"
"You passed out Sochi." She quickly replied but smiled, helping him get in a sitting position.
Naruto holds one hand to his hurting head.
"Geez. Somebody got the number of that stone that hit me in the head?" He groaned a bit thankfully taking hold of the glass of water his father gave to him and taking a sip. He took some sips down his throat just sorting through his memories. Then looking in three waiting faces.
"Err. Guys? Do I have something on my face" he looked himself up and down while Kushina chuckled, his Father smiled and Mito just sighed a bit.
"Sochi, could you explain your new tag to us please? The show your clones put up was impressive and all but we want to understand what you came up with."
Kushina explained with a loving expression while laying the tag before him.
Naruto looked at the tag and then smiled, scratching the back of his neck.
"Well. Some of it is a bit over my head. But it's super cool though. It's like this. First. My clones set up a three or four pointed sensor barrier seal. Just to get a good feel for the flow you know. After that my clones connect the barrier to a scroll with chakra resonance tags on it, which had to be prepared beforehand with the reference thingy."
He pointed at the scribbles the three seal masters looked at the last hour on the tag.
"This sign stands for the Chakra flow through different Tenketsu. My clones tested all the Jutsu I know and some from Hatsumi Chan. So some Doton, Futon and Suiton and the non elemental ones. Wait let me show you that's a super cool thing I think should work."
The three just wanted to get another experience of his work so didn't stop him as he took out a brush and began scribbling those strange signs down a straight line. Adding lines and swirls seemingly random to some of them. He stood up and a clone appeared beside him and took the tag from him and nodded. The clone took the tag and placed it in his hand. Nodded to the real one and both aimed at the sky.
Naruto ran through hand seals. Tiger, ox, rabbit, snake and took a deep breath nodding to the clone. The clone channel Chakra in the seal. Seconds later a big Fireball appeared out of it.
Naruto finished his Jutsu and blew out his Jutsu.
"Futon: Daitoppa"
The wind Jutsu picked up the fireball, feeding it all the oxygen it needed to nearly triple in size.
Heat rises quickly all around them, but before Naruto and the others get too much of it, five clones of Naruto pull out a scroll and stomp on it to unleash the sealed water.
All rushing through hand seals shouting at the same time:
"Suiton: Mizurappa"
The water torrents hit the big flame ball at the same time cooling it down and canceling it out seconds later.
The clones had dispersed themselves and Naruto stood there, just with a big goofy smile.
Minato was the first to catch himself again enough to ask the question all three adults wanted to ask.
"Did your tag just replicate the great fireball Jutsu?"
Naruto just nodded again.
"Uh hu."
All three adults were just shocked. Naruto picked up the Scroll his clones prepared and came back to show it to them. Pointing at different parts after reading them closely.
"Well here you have the Futon, and Suiton Jutsus. I think it nearly works as the Uchiha Sharingan. Just have someone do a Jutsu in the sensor barrier. It collects the info of chakra flow and translates it with the help of the reference table. The only Problems I have. It only works for me. I think every Chakra System works slightly differently. Would be cool to provide my friends with Jutsu Tags though" He sits down in a thinking pose seemingly in his own world. Mito looked at the scroll and watched it closely.
"Here is the link to the sensor barrier. Here is the reference table. If I understand it right, and I am not 100 percent sure about that. He created a Type of Chakra Flow Analysis Barrier with his own chakra System as reference. While a Sharingan would help copy the Jutsu of the User by recognizing the flow and memorizing it. This collects information on how to mold the chakra for later translation in a Fuinjutsu Tag. That is. I don't know. Generations of Uzumaki tried to translate Kekkei Genkai in Fuinjutsu just for the challenge. But this."
She shook his head and Naruto listened up.
"I copied a Kekkai Genkai?" The Uzumaki frowned a bit.
"I tried to come up with a cypher to encrypt my sealing tags after the Uzumaki encryption. Well I take it ya know. I am just awesome like that. Itai!"
As Naruto got to the end Kushina bonked him on the head with her fist.
"Sochi, really. Thats an accomplishment you can be proud of but never forget where you got those skills from."
The blonde looked pensive for a second that looked to Mito and bowed in his sitting position.
"Thank you Mito Sensei."
Kushina was crying some anime tears while Minato laughed out loud till Kushina got to him with her medusa-like hair and silenced him.
Alle four sat together talking about this breakthrough and the possibilities and how to improve it.
with Hatsumi in the Uzumaki Temple
Hatsumi was finally at the place. After many wrong turns in the forest and other things like old Fuinjutsu Traps she was able to evade with her eyes as she was standing before a Torii Gate. The big red wooden gateway marked the beginning of the Uzumaki lands here in the Konoha Outskirts.
She used one of the Key Tags Mito had given to her and channeled Chakra into it.
A soft glow from the Torii Gate signaled the temporary deactivation of the security system.
With nimble steps she walked through the red gate just to be totally overwhelmed with the scene before her.
She expected a ruin but before her was a stone building with the Uzumaki insignia on the doors. Everything looked a little dusty but nothing looked like ruins, just a bit old and not polished. The seals of the Uzumaki were still powerful, she thought as she carefully got to the door.
She used another key tag to open the door with a bit of a screech. Her eyes roamed around the entry hall. Straight forward she could look directly into a patio where the green wasn't maintained. The grass, flowers and other greenery were getting to the temple.
Hatsumi knew from her briefing with the two Uzumaki women that she would need to go over to the left hand side corridor to the storage room. Behind the door to the right was just a cave-in of the ceiling. She made some careful steps through the left door.
With her Sharingan active the lines of the Seals in the walls were clearly visible. Luckily her key tag should beware of any ill effects.
After nearly three minutes of walking in the little corridor the musty air was slowly getting to Hatsumi. The narrow pathway should lead her directly to her objective but the silence, the smell and the ever glowing Fuinjutsu lines were playing with her psyche. The newly made Uzumaki wanted not to think what an enemy of the clan would experience going through these halls. She turned around a corner standing before the next closed door. She took her next key tag out and put it on the door and channels a bit of Chakra in the key tag.
What happened next wasn't something she was ready for. Instead of Opening she felt a tuck on herself. Hatsumi tried to stop it by channeling Chakra to her feet but nothing seemed to work. Before she knew it she blacked out.
With Naruto, Kushina, Minato and Mito, Uzumaki Compound
The now four Sealmasters were sitting around a set of tea. Naruto proudly looks at his Dan Certificate signed by Mito Uzumaki. After many discussions and some theoreticals he finally was able to really understand what he had done. After some Tests they knew why nobody could use Naruto's tags. In his experiments to encrypt his sealing arts and developing a new way to copy Jutsu on the side, he accomplished to encrypt his way with some kind of personal key. The reference matrix was thus coded with Naruto's personal key. For each person who wanted to use a Jutsu tag somebody with the knowledge of how, would have to create the base reference table through trial and error and encode that with their own personal key.
What his parents could help him with were other applications. On his Ninja Boots were the seals for the Shunshin. After reading one message from the Uchiha he remembered how useful the Jutsu could be. Shisui was on the lookout for Itachi and some other outside threats and would not come back for the foreseeable future but he would send messages with his crows. Just one year Naruto had to endure before he could take missions, one year before he could begin to show a bit more of his skills. The only person missing to celebrate his new achievement was Hatsumi Chan. Naruto hoped she would come back tomorrow.
