Chapter 7 Damian and Charmander
Here it is everyone I've been really looking forward to writing this part in the story the first half will mainly cover Damian and Charmander on their journey and the second half will kick off where the last chapter left off enjoy!
Let's go back in time to about 3 months when Damian received Charmander from Professor Oak as Damian is walking through route 1, he sees a Spearow and wants to catch it. He pulls out Charmander's Pokeball and speaks.
"Charmander come out!" Damian says as he throws the Pokeball forward and out comes the fire lizard ready to battle with the Spearow getting into a battle stance too as Damian speaks.
"Use Growl!" Damian calls Charmander let's out a loud growl that scares Spearow which greatly lowers its attack as Damian calls for his next move.
"Now use Scratch!" Damian calls Charmander quickly dashes at Spearow and successfully scratches the bird, Spearow groans in pain but isn't ready to go down yet it flies up in the air then descends going to land a peck, but Charmander dodges the attack. Charmander looks at Spearow it begins to heat up its mouth as Damian speaks.
"Now Ember!" Damian yells as Charmander shoots out a small fire ball at Spearow hitting the bird, greatly weakening the Pokémon as it falls on the ground. Damain then pulls out a Pokeball.
"Go Pokeball!" Damian yells as he throws the ball. It soars through the air until it hits Spearow the ball shakes a few times but dings confirming that Damian caught it. Damian smiles, he looks at the fire lizard and speaks.
"Good job Charmander we got our first Pokémon let's keep going just like this" Damian says as he pets the fire lizard on the head with Charmander having a smile on its face and nodding. After that Damian and Charmander continued to successfully catch more Pokémon before reaching Viridian city. Once Damian reaches the city, he goes to the Viridian City gym. The guards standing outside let him in as when Damian enters, he sees a tall man with green hair waiting for him then speaks.
"Hello Proton sir" Damian says with Proton greeting the boy as he speaks.
"Hello Damian, were you able to receive a Pokémon and a Pokedex from Professor Oak as planned?" Proton asks as Damian speaks.
"Yes sir" Damian says as he brings out Charmander and hands Proton his Pokedex, Charmander sees Proton and looks around at its surroundings getting scared as there's something about this place it doesn't like. Damian looks at Charmander then speaks.
"It's okay Charmander this man right here is Proton he's my sponsor he's been preparing me to start my journey. He's an executive in a group called Team Rocket they are trying to be the strongest organization out there" Damian says to try and ease Charmander's worry's Charmander nods but is still terrified. A few seconds later Proton speaks.
"Here Damian I've messed around with the Pokedex a little so that the Pokémon you catch will be transferred here and not go to that old man Oak" Proton says as he hands the boy his Pokedex back with Damian thanking him. Proton then bends down, he looks at Charmander, having a smile on his face then speaks.
"Hello there Charmander, you look strong I hope you evolve into a strong Charizard one day and help our organization become the strongest in the world" Proton says smiling. Charmander's still scared and doesn't believe a word this man is saying. Proton stands back up and looks at Damian.
"Anyway, Damian I see that you've captured a Spearow, Pidgey, Rattata, Weedle and a Poilwag quite impressive since you've only been a trainer for a day" Proton says with Damian smiling.
"Thank you, sir I'll make sure to capture and train more Pokémon for the organization, challenge the gyms and win the Pokémon league" Damian says happily with Proton nodding his head in approval as he speaks.
"That's a good attitude to have Damian I'll be sure to report back to the boss call me when you have the Pewter City gym badge" Proton says with Damian nodding he returns Charmander and quickly heads out of the gym. As Damian's heading for Viridian Forest back in the gym Acher speaks.
"Are you sure that kid has the potential to be a great asset to our organization?" Archer asks walking next to Proton as Proton speaks.
"He better be I didn't waste 5 years of my life training that brat. Ever since I met that kid, I've felt a very evil feeling from him" Proton says with a smirk with Archer nodding and walking away.
Meanwhile in Viridian Forest Damian has been catching Pokémon and battling trainers. The one trainer that's been giving him the most trouble currently is a boy named Samurai and his Pinsir.
"Char" Charmander cries out in pain as Pinsir knocks it away with Damian has a worried look on his face thinking that that he might lose.
"Charmander is a fire type it shouldn't be having this much trouble with a bug so why?" Damian thinks to himself as Samurai calls for his next move.
"Pinsir finish this with X scissor!" Samurai calls the big bug Pokémon charges forward aiming its large Pinsir's at Charmander as Damian speaks.
"Come on Charmander you better win this battle if you know what's good for you!" Damian yells in anger causing both Samurai and Pinsir to look at the boy wondering if they heard him right, but that gave Charmander enough time to get up to dodge Pinsir's attack and leap into the air as Damian speaks.
"Now use Fire Punch!" Damian calls Charmander's right fist heats with fire and punches Pinsir hard on the head causing the bug to crash the ground becoming unconscious. Samurai has a surprised look on his face while Damian smiles and speaks.
"We won Charmander good job" Damian says as he pets the fire lizard making Charmander happy. Samurai returns Pinsir then walks up to the boy and speaks.
"Congrats on besting me in battle you are indeed a strong trainer and I have one question. What did you mean when you told Charmander if you know what's good for you?" Samurai asks in a serious tone as Damian scoffs.
"Oh, please like you need to know you lost now get out of my sight" Damian responds as he returns Charmander and walks away from Samurai.
"What a strange kid" Samurai says to himself.
We flash forward to Damian's gym battle with Brock Damian has two Pokémon left with Brock only having his Onix left. We see Charmander panting heavily while looking at Onix as Damian calls for a command.
"Charmander end this battle with Metal claw!" Damian yells as the tired Charmander leaps into the air, it covers its claws in steel energy and goes hit the tired Onix as Brock speaks.
"Use Iron Tail!" Brock commands as Onix lifts its tail high in the air covers it in steel energy and slams it hard on Charmander's head making the fire lizard crash on the ground creating a dust cloud. When the dust clears, we see Charmander laying on its stomach groaning in pain as Damian speaks.
"Get up Charmander that attack was nothing get up!" Damian yells the fire lizard tries its best to stand but it can't as it lays limp on the ground knocked out the ref then makes his call.
"Charmander is unable to battle Onix is the winner!" The ref calls Damian has a surprised look on his face, then returns Charmander to its Pokeball he looks at it and speaks.
"After all that training, we did to master Metal Claw and come up with a plan to take out Onix How could you lose?!" Damian thinks to himself as he sends out his next Pokémon to finish off Onix.
After the battle is over Brock walks over to Damian to hand him the badge. Damian takes the badge and puts it in his pocket as Brock speaks.
"That was a good battle your Charmander really gave my Onix a run for its money hahaha" Brock says with a chuckle as Damian speaks.
"Thank you but to me it was a terrible performance Charmander should've won" Damian says in a sad/angry tone as Brock speaks.
"Hey, don't beat yourself up over it Charmander fought hard and was close to winning that should be good enough and besides you still won the battle anyway" Brock says making Damian angry as he yells.
"WELL, IT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH CHARMANDER SHOULD'VE WON!" Damian yells and storms out of the gym. Brock wants to go after him but figures it's best for Damian to deal with his feelings himself.
Damian is now in the Pokémon Center letting Nurse Joy heal his Pokémon as he's waiting, he heads out of the Center and goes to a place where no people can see him, he pulls out a device dials a number. It rings 3 times until it stops, and Proton shows up on the screen looking happy that Damian called him.
"Hello Damian, did you beat the gym?" Proton asks as Damian speaks.
"Yes sir" Damian says as he shows the badge to Proton, Proton is pleased to see that Damian has a badge but notices Damian's sad expression.
"What's wrong? You won the badge you should be happy," Proton asks as Damian speaks.
"It's Charmander sir we trained really hard to beat the gym leaders Onix and came up with a fool proof plan to win but in the end Charmander lost and I had to use my Poilwirl to win the battle" Damian says in disappointment as Proton speaks.
"I see well I don't think you should be bummed out about its only one lost it'll only make you and Charmander stronger" Proton says trying to encourage the boy as Damian speaks.
"You really think so? But don't we need Charmander to evolve into a strong Charizard to defeat the Bosses sworn enemy Red?" Damian asks with Proton nodding as he speaks.
"You're right we do need Charmander for that purpose, but you two are still growing I've lost many battles before, but I still keep going and each experience makes me stronger" Proton says with Damian nodding.
"I see thank you Proton sir I'll update you when I win the Cerulean gym badge" Damian says with Proton nodding. Before Damian turns the communication device off Proton says one more thing.
"Damian, I'll tell you this once if Charmander starts to lose more and more battles you should consider getting rid of it and we'll provide you with another fire type that's stronger instead. Team Rocket has no use for weak Pokémon" Proton says in a serious tone with Damian nodding they then end the call. Damian then walks back into the Pokémon Center and grabs his Pokémon. Damian replays Proton's words in his head while looking at Charmander's Pokeball he then shakes his head.
"I'll keep training and make sure Charmander doesn't lose again" Damian says as he walks out of the Pokémon Center and heads to the direction of Mt. Moon
During Damian's travel to Mt. Moon, he battled many trainers and Pokémon with Charmander and won making Damian think that Charmander losing to Brock was a fluke. Damian is able to pass through Mt. Moon catching most of the Pokémon he sees in there. He even caught a powerful Onix that Charmander was able to beat, redeeming itself from losing against Brock's Onix.
Damian finally exits the mountain and is now on his way to Cerulean City, but he sees a car quickly drive pass him as it stops next to the sign. Damian sees a boy around his age with brown spikey hair writing something on the sign Damian gets excited as he knows this is champion Blues son, he calls to the boy.
"Hey, you're the son of Champion Blue, right?! Let's have a battle" Damian says. Gary looks at the boy and smiles as he gets out of the car the cheerleaders want to cheer him on, but he tells them to save their cheers for his next gym battle. Gary looks at Damian then speaks.
"Say would you happen to be the Damian kid my grandpa and sister told me that you received a Charmander from them even though you weren't on the list of trainers to receive a starter that day. I've also heard from my grandpa that he hasn't heard back from you after you left and lost the signal to your Pokedex I find that weird" Gary says as Damian speaks.
"Does it really matter come on let's battle I'll show you that I'm superior to you" Damian says while having a confident smile on his face. Gary smiles, he shrugs his shoulders then speaks.
"Alright I don't really care what you've been doing so far on your journey anyway. As for the battle let's make this battle a 1v1 I'm in a hurry to get my next badge" Gary says having a smirk on his face as Damian speaks.
"Hmph that's fine by me I'm also in a hurry to get my next badge so it works for me too" Damian says as he throws Charmander's Pokeball forward and the fire lizard comes out ready to battle. Gary looks at Charmander then speaks.
"So that's the Charmander you received from my grandpa and sister it looks pretty strong, but I doubt it can beat my Wartortle!" Gary says as he throws the Pokeball forward and out comes Wartortle its bigger than Squirtle and its tail is fluffy this surprises Damian.
"Wait you couldn't have been on your journey for more than a week how did your starter evolve so fast?!" Damian asks Gary, looks at him confused, he shrugs and answers.
"Well, it was already pretty strong as a Squirtle I guess before I received it from my grandpa it must've trained a lot at my grandpa's lab to the point when I got it, it was ready to evolve" Gary responds as Damian looks at Charmander and begins to think.
"Did Charmander really not train before I got it? Its dream is to become the strongest Charizard right?!" Damian thinks to himself, as Gary speaks.
"So, are you going to make the first move, or will I?" Gary asks breaking Damian out of his thoughts.
"I'll go first Charmander use Smokescreen!" Damian commands Charmander fires the cloud of black smoke from its mouth and covers the battlefield. Gary looks at the Smokescreen covering the area and calls for a command.
"Wartortle blow that smoke away with Rapid Spin!" Gary commands as Wartortle spins and easily gets rid of the Smokescreen clearing the area. Damian and Charmander have surprised looks on their faces but Damian quickly recomposes himself and calls for a command.
"Use Thunder Punch!" Damian calls Charmander quickly runs towards Wartortle with both of its fists glowing with electricity. Neither Gary nor Wartortle are worried as Gary speaks.
"Use Protect" Gary calls Wartortle summons a protective barrier blocking the Thunder Punch and making Charmander slide back as Damian speaks.
"Burn it with Will-O-Wisp!" Damian calls Charmander quickly shoots out 5 wisps of purple fire at Wartortle the attack connects and Wartortle is now burned. Damian smiles and calls for his next command.
"Now use Thunder Punch again!" Damian calls Charmander leaps into the air it covers its fists in electricity and heads for Wartortle as Gary speaks.
"Use Refresh, dodge then use Rain Dance" Gary commands as Wartortle glows in a healing aura getting rid of the burn it dodges Charmander's Thunder Punch and begins to summon the rain. As the rain is falling Damian calls for a command.
"Charmander use Flamethrower!" Damian calls Charmander fires out a hot stream of fire (at this point in time Charmander can only use Flamethrower once). The Flamethrower heads for Wartortle as Gary sighs in disappointment and calls for a command.
"Wartortle please end this battle with Water Gun" Gary says Wartortle nods it fires the Water gun its bigger than a normal one because of the Rain boosting the attack it easily destroys Charmander's Flamethrower and hits the fire lizard causing super effective damage. Charmander flies pass Damian hitting the wall behind him and falls in defeat. Damian looks at Charmander then speaks.
"Get up Charmander you're not done yet GET UP!" Damian yells but Charmander is done and can't battle anymore. Gary sighs and throws two things at Damian. Damian catches the items and looks at Gary as Gary speaks.
"That's a Revive and a Hyper Potion you should use that to heal Charmander it looks really tired/injured" Gary says but this makes Damian angry. Damian throws the Items on the ground as hard as he can breaking them surprising Gary his cheerleaders look on in horror as Damian yells.
"DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO I ALREADY HAVE A REVIVE AND A HYPER POTION!" Damian yells in anger, Gary looks at him with a shocked expression then turns away to leave as Damian speaks.
"Hey where do you think you're going our battle isn't done yet I still have other Pokémon that can beat you!" Damian yells, making Gary turn around.
"The agreement for this battle was a 1v1 and I won so there's no reason to battle anymore. Also, your Charmander needs to be healed. Anyway, I'm going to go get my next gym badge See ya" Gary says he gets in the car with the cheerleaders as they quickly drive off. Damian has an angry look on his face then speaks.
"That jerk, one day I'll beat him for sure" Damian says in anger as he looks at Charmander who's giving a few huffs while lying on the ground Damian scoffs as he walks over and heals Charmander. A few seconds later Charmander opens its eyes and speaks.
"Char!" Charmander says happily the fire lizard looks at Damian and thanks its trainer for healing it. When Charmander looks at Damian in the eye's it can see just how disappointed he is as Damian says one word.
"Disappointing" Damian says in anger. Charmander looks down having a sad look on its face as Damian returns the fire lizard and begins to walk toward Cerulean City
2 days later Damian is in the Cerulean gym and is currently having a battle against Violet. Both trainers have one Pokémon left Damian has Charmander while Violet has Tentacool both Pokémon are tired and panting heavily as Violet speaks.
"Use Water Pulse!" Violet calls Tentacool fires a ball of water at Charmander as Damian speaks.
"Destroy it with Thunder Punch!" Damian yells Charmander destroys the ball of water with Thunder Punch surprising Violet and Tentacool as Damian speaks.
"End this battle with Flamethrower!" Damian calls Charmander, fires the stream of fire hitting Tentacool and knocks it out. Lilly then makes the call.
"Gym leader Violets Tentacool is unable to battle Charmander is the winner making challenger Damian the victor!" Lilly calls with Damian smiling. Charmander runs back to Damian wanting to be praised. Damian bends down and pats Charmander on the head.
"You see Charmander the plan worked you won let's keep going like this" Damian says as Charmander nods happily. Violet then walks over to Damian, she tells him great job and hands him the badge, Damian takes the badge and quickly walks out of the gym without saying anything to Violet, making the sisters confused. As Damian walks out of the gym, he bumps into someone causing both he and the other person to fall on the ground. The two kids groan in pain as the girl stands back up and speaks.
"Oh, I'm sorry are you okay?" The girl asks in concern she holds out her hand as Damian speaks.
"Yeah, I'm okay watch where you're going next time" Damian says he takes the girl's hand as she helps him up Damian looks at the girl and takes in her appearance. The girl is around his age with long brown Chestnut colored hair and pretty eyes Damian then blushes a little as the girl speaks.
"Again, I'm sorry I was just too excited to get my next gym badge hehehehe. Oh, and my name is Leaf, what's yours?" Leaf asks with a smile looking at Damian. Damian's still blushing, he doesn't say anything as he turns around and quickly runs away. Leaf looks at him running away and speaks.
"Weird" Leaf says, having a confused look on her face she shrugs her shoulders and enters the Cerulean gym. Damian is currently behind the Pokémon Center and is panting heavily.
"What was that? Do I have feelings for that girl?" Damian questions. A few seconds later he calms down and calls Proton again to report. The phone rings 3 times until Proton answers and speaks.
"Ah Damian it's great to see you again the Pokémon you've captured and sent here have been of great use to us" Proton says with a grin as Damian speaks.
"Thank you, sir look I got my second badge," Damian says (now fully recovered from his encounter with Leaf) he shows the badge to Proton making the man happy as Damian continues to speak.
"Charmander was able to beat the gym leader's final Pokémon for me" Damian says Proton nods then speaks.
"That's great so does this mean that Charmander's getting stronger? it's getting close to evolving right?" Proton asks while smiling. Damian gets a nervous look on his face then speaks.
"About that sir 2 days ago I battled Gary Oak Champion Blues son, and he already has a Wartortle. He started his journey around the same time as me and his starter has already evolved" Damian responds making Proton's smile turn into a frown as the man speaks.
"I see that's disappointing" Proton says with a hint of anger in his voice as Damian speaks.
"I'm sure Charmander will evolve soon as long as I win more battles" Damian says as Proton speaks.
"Sigh I guess you have a point as long as Charmander keeps winning it'll evolve eventually" Proton says with Damian nodding.
"Thank you for understanding sir I'll let you know when I beat the Vermillion City gym" Damian says smiling as Proton speaks.
"Sounds good to me but Damian I have one more thing to say to you if Charmander ends up winning a lot of battles but doesn't evolve before you reach Vermillion City and if it loses a lot of battles before you reach Vermillion City you are to release that weakling understood?!" Proton says in a stern tone. He waits for Damian's answer as the boy speaks.
"Yes sir" Damion responds with Proton smiling with that they end the call as Damian sets out from Cerulean City and is now heading towards Vermillion City.
On his way to Vermillion City Damian has been training Charmander hard to finally make it evolve but nothing is working, Damian goes to AJ's gym using Charmander but loses in an instant. AJ smiles he looks at Sandshrew then speaks.
"That's our 70th win Sandshrew!" AJ says happily as Sandshrew nods. While the two are celebrating Damian's has a surprised look on his face then speaks.
"Why?!" Damian whispers to himself while looking at Charmander's Pokeball. Damian then goes to battle more trainers and Pokémon using Charmander, the fire lizard wins some battles but loses a good majority of them. Damian gets angry then speaks.
"Why?!" Damian thinks to himself in anger. This keeps going on Charmander is on a losing streak as Damian is reaching his breaking point with the fire lizard on route 24, he meets Paul and challenges hm. It's a 3v3 battle Damian uses Onix, Poilwrath and Charmander against Paul's Nidoking, Elekid and Turtwig the battle between the two trainers is fierce with neither giving in. Paul's Nidoking is able to take down Onix with some difficulty and deal some damage to Poilwrath before fainting. Elekid is able to defeat Poilwrath but goes down afterward, Charmander and Turtwig are the last Pokémon even though Charmander has the type advantage the battle is still difficult for the fire lizard. Charmander is able to deal damage to Turtwig but it doesn't look like it fazed the small green turtle.
After the harsh training that Damion's been putting it through Charmander is now able to use Flamethrower 10 times. Back to the battle Charmander's at its limit and has used Flamethrower 10 times. 5 flames missed while 5 hit the green turtle causing a burn Damian called for Charmander to use Flamethrower one more time but the fire lizard can't as Flamethrower still isn't mastered so Charmander currently can't go pass 10. Paul then calls for Turtwig to end the battle with Razor Leaf and finally knock Charmander out. Paul suggests that if Damian used a different fire Pokémon he would of won Paul heals Turtwig tells it good work returns the green turtle then leaves. When Paul's gone Damian's face has both a shocked/angry look on it.
"WHY?!" Damian yells internally in his head as he continues to think.
"Proton and this Paul kid were right this Charmander is useless I need to get rid of it that way I'll be able to win more battles" Damian thinks to himself as he's thinking of a way to get rid of Charmander he sees a rock and smiles evilly. When Charmander makes it over to him Damian looks at Charmander, he heals it with Hyper Potion and speaks.
"Hey Charmander, I just thought of something I've been training you very hard lately and you deserve a rest. So how about you rest on that rock there for a week and I'll come back for you" Damian says with a grin. Charmander begins to think it doesn't want to leave Damian, but it agrees that it does need a break from all the training that Damian's been putting it through. Charmander looks back at Damian and nods in agreement. Damian smiles, he then puts Charmander on the rock and speaks.
"Well see ya later Charmander remember don't leave that rock for a week and I'll be sure to come back" Damian says with a smile as Charmander nods. Damian begins to walk away once he's far enough to the point where Charmander can't see or hear him he smiles and lets out a loud yell.
'YESSSS! I'M FINALLY FREE FROM THAT USELESS CHARMANDER!" Damian yells happily as he begins to run forward.

We're now back in present time from were the last chapter left off with the group seeing Charmander.
"IT'S A CHARMANDER!" The group yell in shock as Charmander looks at them the fire lizard yawns causing the group to fall as Misty speaks.
"What's a Charmander doing here?" Misty asks as Ash speaks.
"I don't know I couldn't get a Charmander back at Oaks lab, but I knew that if I kept traveling, I would eventually find my own I'm not going to miss this chance Go! Pokeball!" Ash says as he throws the ball it hits Charmander's head, but it doesn't suck the fire lizard inside the ball just rolls down the rock as Ash picks it up.
"I wonder why that didn't work?" Ash asks as Brock speaks.
"Hmmm now that I look at it more closely that's Damian's Charmander" Brock says shocking Ash and Misty as Ash speaks.
"So that explains why my Pokeball didn't work since this is Damian's Charmander" Ash says as Misty speaks.
"If that's true then why is it on a rock?" Misty asks but Ash and Brock don't know. Pikachu runs up the rock and asks Charmander after the Pokémon talk Pikachu walks back to the three trainers.
"So did you learn anything Pikachu?" Ash asks with Pikachu nodding as it begins to explain. Ash can understand while Misty and Brock are confused as Pikachu finishes. Brock looks at Ash and speaks.
"What did Pikachu say Ash?" Brock asks as Ash speaks.
"Pikachu told me that after being through so much training Damian decided it would be best for Charmander to relax on that rock for a week and he'll come back for it soon" Ash says with Misty and Brock nodding as Brock speaks.
"It's weird that Damian would do that you would think he would just send him to Oak's lab for a rest" Brock says with Ash and Misty nodding as Misty speaks.
"Well, there's nothing more we can do now and just hope that Damian picks up Charmander soon" Misty says with Brock and Ash nodding. As the three trainers and Pikachu walk to the direction if a Pokémon Center that's nearby Ash, then looks back to see Charmander one last time as the fire lizard yawns and takes a nap.
20 minutes have passed since the group saw Charmander. They made it to the Pokémon Center before a thunderstorm started. Ash, Pikachu and Brock have been looking out the window the entire time they continue to look as Misty speaks.
"Thinking about Charmander?" Misty asks with the two boys and Pikachu nodding as Brock speaks.
"I hope Damian was able to come back for Charmander in time, I had a really strange feeling about him after our battle, but I don't see why he would leave Charmander on the rock for a week" Brock says as Ash speaks.
"Say Brock could you tells us just a little about Damian since you battled him?" Ash asks with Brock nodding as he begins.
"Well when he came to my gym requesting for a battle, he seemed like a good kid the battle we had was tough his Charmander almost beat my Onix, but Onix won and then lost to his Poilwril soon after. Once the battle was over, he was really upset that Charmander lost. He didn't congratulate his other Pokémon who battled hard, he yelled as he took the badge and ran off. I wanted to go after him but decided to leave him be but now I wonder if I made the wrong choice" Brock says with Ash and Misty looking surprised Misty then speaks.
"My sister Violet told me about her battle with Damian she said that he was a really skilled trainer and beat Violet's Tentacool with Charmander. He smiled, giving Charmander a pat on the head, he then took the badge and immediately left the gym without saying anything else to my sisters" Misty says with the 2 boys and Pikachu nodding as Ash speaks.
"Interesting he doesn't seem like a bad guy but from what you guys are telling me there's definitely something weird about him" Ash says with Brock and Misty nodding their heads. As they continue to sit Brock then hears a familiar voice he turns around and sees Damian. The teen has a surprised look on his face then speaks.
"It's Damian" Brock says surprising Ash and Misty as they as where Brock's looking. They see Damian sitting on a couch with multiple Pokeball's on the table and a group of looks boys looking at him in amazement as one boy speaks.
"Whoa Damian you've caught a lot of Pokémon" One kid says with Damian smiling as another kid speaks.
"Hey, I thought you're only allowed to carry six Pokémon with you why are you able to carry over 20 Pokémon? Once you win a Pokémon league you get the opportunity to carry 7 while elite 4 and champions are allowed to carry over 50 with them" Another boy says as Damian speaks.
"Well, you see my sponsor granted me the opportunity to carry 20 Pokémon with me since I've been doing so well on my gym challenge, look I have 3 badges now" Damian says as he shows off his badges surprising not only the group of boys around him but our group as well. Damian then continues to speak.
"You know my sponsor also told me that the legendary trainer Red Ketchum is allowed to carry all of his Pokémon with him. I hope I'm able to achieve that someday" Damian says with a smirk making the other boys amazed. The group is surprised too as Ash speaks.
"I didn't know my dad is allowed to carry all of his Pokémon with them, though now that I think about it whenever I visit Professor Oak's lab, I never see any of his Pokémon there" Ash says as another boy asks Damian a question.
"Hey Damian, don't you have a Charmander?" Another boy asks causing Damian to get a little angry remembering Charmander, but he then puts on a smile and speaks.
"Your right I did but that thing disappointed me so much to the point that I decided to leave it on a rock I told it that I'll be back in a week and the dumb thing believed me Hahahahaha" Damian says with a laugh causing the other boys to laugh as well but this makes Ash, Misty and especially Brock angry as he goes to walk to Damian. When Brock makes it to Damian, he looks at him and speaks.
"Go get it!" Brock says while looking at the still laughing Damian. Damian along with the other boys stop Damian looks up and his eyes widen when he sees Brock he smirks.
"Oh, it's you Brock why should I listen to you?" Damian says in a smug tone, making Brock even angrier as he grabs Damian by the collar and pulls him close to his face.
"You know when I battled you, I thought you were a good kid that had some issues to work out, but I now see that I was wrong your nothing but scum!" Brock says in an angry tone as he throws Damian back on the couch making Damian mad as he speaks.
"Easy for you to say you've never worked with a Pokémon that constantly disappoints you!" Damian says causing Brock to get even more angry as Ash speaks.
"Even if Charmander's weak it doesn't deserve the treatment you gave it! Besides its raining outside if Charmander's tail flame goes out it could die!" Ash says as he's now standing next to Brock with Misty standing behind him. Damian looks at him then speaks.
"So, what if it dies then that just proves how weak it is and who are you supposed to be? I don't remember talking to you" Damian asks as he glares at Ash with Ash glaring back at him then speaks.
"My name is Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town and the son of Red Ketchum!" Ash says, shocking Damian along with the boys that're behind him too as Damian thinks.
"Red Ketchum's son is standing right in front of me I need to contact Proton immediately" Damian thinks to himself as Misty speaks.
"Anyway, are you going to get Charmander or not?!" Misty asks in an angry tone with her hands on her hips as Damian chuckles a little then speaks.
"Hah no way I'm not going back for that weakling there's also a storm outside but since Red Ketchum's son is here, I wouldn't mind beating you in a battle" Damian says with a smirk while holding one of his Pokeball's in his hand as Ash speaks.
"Go ahead and try!" Ash responds also holding a Pokeball in his hand with anger in his eyes and Pikachu sparking its cheeks. Misty, Brock along with the boys that're behind Damian take out their Pokeballs too as they're about to battle Nurse Joy speaks.
"Now hold on right there I will not allow battling in this center!" Nurse Joy says with everyone looking at her nodding in understanding. They all put their Pokeballs away as Damian looks at Ash and speaks.
"Looks like you lucked out son of Red Ketchum I'm going to bed see ya" Damian says as he yawns and begins to walk away with the other boys carrying his Pokeballs. When Damain's gone, the group have annoyed looks on their faces as Ash speaks.
"Man, I hate that guy" Ash says while gritting his teeth he then looks to Brock and Misty.
"Let's go save Charmander guys!" Ash says with Misty and Brock agreeing Nurse Joy hands them raincoats as the three trainers quickly run out of the center to save Charmander as Ash speaks.
"Hang on Charmander we're on our way" Ash says to himself as he runs as quickly as he can with Misty and Brock following behind. Meanwhile Charmander is currently holding a large leaf and is doing its best to protect its tail flame, its doing good until 3 Spearow come out and start pecking and scratching it making the fire lizard yell.
"Char!" Charmander screams in pain and is hoping Damian comes to save it soon. As the Spearow's keep pecking/scratching it Charmander then hears a familiar voice it's not Damian's voice but it's that boy and his friends from earlier. After Ash throws a rock at the Spearow's the birds head for the group as Ash speaks.
"Pikachu use Iron Tail!" Ash calls as Pikachu covers its tail in steel energy and easily knocks all three Spearow's away. Brock quickly takes off his jacket and begins to cover Charmander. Brock looks at the fire lizard then speaks.
"We need to hurry and get it to the Pokémon Center now!" Brock says as he picks up the fire lizard Ash then speaks.
"I'll make sure its tail flame stays lit" Ash says with Brock nodding as Misty speaks.
"Guys let's get out of here the storm is about to get worse" Misty calls as Ash and Brock nod they all start to quickly run back to the Pokémon Center with Ash making sure Charmander's tail flame doesn't go out Charmander looks at Ash then closes its eyes. The group finally make it to the Pokémon Center Nurse joy and Chansey already had a stretcher ready, Brock gently puts Charmander on it as Nurse Joy and Chansey quickly take Charmander to the emergency room and begin treatment making the group wait outside. As their Ash then notices Damian passing by, he begins to walk over to him as Damian speaks.
"Oh, you're back already did Charmander die?" Damian asks with a nonchalant tone and a yawn Ash was going to punch Damian but instead grabs him by the collar and gets in his face.
"If Charmander dies I'll make sure you regret it!" Ash says in anger with Brock, Misty and Pikachu thinking the same thing Damian scoffs knocking Ash's hand away from his collar and speaks.
"Whatever I'm going to bed" Damian says as he walks away Ash then joins back with Brock, Misty and Pikachu and waits alongside them for Charmander's treatment to be done. Meanwhile in Damian's room he's currently talking to Proton as the man speaks.
"Red Ketchum's son is there with you right now?!" Proton yells as Damian speaks.
"Yes, will you send a team to deal with him?" Damian asks as Proton speaks.
"Yes, two of our grunts are on their way right now" Proton says with Damian nodding.
"Thank you, sir, anyway I'm going to bed now" Damian says as he turns off the communication device and lays down.
"Red Ketchum's son huh I'll be sure to crush him" Damian says as he goes to sleep.
It's now the next morning Ash, Misty and Pikachu are sleeping while Brock is still awake, he's been up all-night waiting for Charmander's treatment to be done he then hears a ding he gets up and wakes up Ash, Misty, and Pikachu. When Nurse Joy and Chansey appear the 3 trainers go over to them as Ash speaks.
"How's Charmander Nurse Joy?" Ash asks, having a worried expression on his face with Misty, Brock, and Pikachu having the same expression. Nurse Joy looks at them, smiles and speaks.
"Charmander is doing fine now, all it needs is a good rest and it'll feel a lot better" Nurse Joy says with a smile the gang sigh in relief as Nurse Joy allows them to go see Charmander. When the 3 kids and Pikachu see the fire lizard, they all smile as Ash speaks.
"Hey Charmander, how are you feeling?" Ash asks with Charmander nodding saying it's alright making the group smile as Ash continues to speak.
"You may hate me for saying this, but Damian had no intention of coming back for you he was just going to leave you on that rock" Ash says with Charmander gets a shocked expression and begins to wonder if what this boy says is true. As Charmander continues to think Brock speaks.
"How about we give Charmander some time to think" Brock says with Ash nodding the group then leave Charmander so it can think.
1 hour has passed the group was going to check on Charmander again but Nurse joy told them that Charmander already left they assume it's gone back to the rock to continue to wait for Damian the group are disappointed but say they did their best and leave the Pokémon Center to continue their journey. Behind the Pokémon Center we see Charmander hiding behind a bush as it sees Damian talking to Proton again.
"They really got mad at you for releasing that weak Charmander Hahahaha those kids are idiots" Proton says while laughing as Damian speaks.
"Hahahaha, I know right so anyway are the two TR members on their way to take care of them?" Damian asks as Proton speaks.
"Yep, they should be there soon" Proton responds making Damian smile. At that moment Charmander's eyes grow wide in horror and sadness. What the boy said is true Damian wasn't going to come back for it, Charmander then starts to run in the direction the group went so it can help them. Damian notices something in the bushes and decides to follow it. Meanwhile as Ash, Misty and Brock are walking still sad about Charmander but they're not sad for long when they see a Hyper Beam fly straight down toward them Brock yells.
"MOVE!" Brock yells as the Hyper Beam lands on the ground causing a big explosion Ash and his friends were able to get out of the way in time. As they look to see who fired the Hyper Beam their eye's grow wide in anger when they see Cassidy and Butch having smiles on their faces as Ash yells.
"What are you two doing here?! You should be in prison!" Ash yells with Pikachu sparking its cheeks Misty and Brock stand next to Ash with their Pokeballs ready as Cassidy speaks.
"Oh, our boss bailed us out we were doing another mission but once we saw you kids again, we wanted to mess with you" Cassidy says sinisterly with her Fearow next to her as Misty speaks.
"You could've seriously hurt us if that Hyper Beam landed!" Misty says in anger with Butch smirking.
"You should know by now that we don't care what happens to you kids, we just want your Pokémon" Butch says making the 3 trainers and Pikachu angrier as Brock speaks.
"If you want our Pokémon, you'll have to take them by force!" Brock states in anger with Ash and Misty nodding as Cassidy speaks.
"That's what we plan to do Fearow use Hyper Beam again!" Cassidy calls Fearow nods as it shoots out another beam Ash calls for a command.
"Pikachu counter with ThunderBolt!" Ash calls Pikachu quickly fire's the Thunderbolt it collides with the Hyper beam creating an explosion. Butch sends out his Grimer and calls for a command.
"Grimer use Sludge Bomb!" Butch calls Grimer nods and throws the big Sludge Bomb at the group as Misty speaks.
"Seel freeze it with Ice Beam!" Misty calls as she quickly throws Seels Pokeball forward. The baby sea lion like Pokémon comes out and quickly freezes the purple Sludge making Butch annoyed. Butch sends out his Rhyhorn and calls for another command.
"Rhyhorn use Rock Tomb!" Butch calls as Rhyhorn starts throwing large rocks at the group Brock speaks.
"Geodude counter with your Rockslide!" Brock calls as Geodude appears from its Pokeball and summons boulders bigger than Rhyhorn's Rock tomb easily overpowering it and almost hitting Rhyhorn but the horn Pokémon jumps to the side dodging the attack as Brock speaks.
"Now use Brick Break!" Brock commands as Geodude quickly zooms forward and slams its hand on Rhyhorn's head causing major damage and making Rhyhorn slide back towards Butch. Rhyhorn groans in pain as Cassidy speaks.
"Fearow use Steel Wing!" Cassidy yells Fearow roars it covers its wings in steel energy and flies forward as Ash speaks.
"Pikachu counter with Iron Tail!" Ash calls Pikachu covers its tail in steel energy and jumps in the air clashing with Fearow. The two mons clash a few times trying their best to hit their opponent. Cassidy's about to call for her next attack but Misty notices and makes her move.
"Seel use Aqua Jet on Fearow!" Misty yells as Seel nods. It incases itself in water and quickly shoots at Fearow and hits the bird in the stomach making it cough in pain. Misty then looks at Ash with Ash nodding as he speaks.
"Pikachu Thunderbolt!" Ash calls Pikachu sparks its cheeks and fires the electric bolt on Fearow causing major damage to the bird making Cassidy angry as she sends out her next Pokémon.
"Raticate blow the brats away with Hyper Beam!" Cassidy calls Raticate quickly comes out and fires the Hyper Beam that hits Geodude, Seel and Pikachu who protected their trainers injuring all three Pokémon. The group gasp in horror as they go to pick up their Pokémon Cassidy speaks.
"Well looks like we win you know instead of taking your Pokémon why don't we get rid of you kids now" Cassidy says with a sinister smile with Butch agreeing as Cassidy speaks.
"Fearow, Raticate use Hyper Beam!" Cassidy yells as the two Pokémon quickly charge their moves and fire the two beams at the group. The two beams mix together becoming one big beam Ash and friends can't do anything but stare. The beam is about to hit the group but before it does Ash sees Charmander in front of the group and easily destroys the beam with a Fire Punch Charmander looks at Cassidy and Butch with anger in its eyes as Ash speaks.
"Charmander!" Ash says happily Charmander looks at the boy and nods it then looks back at TR as Butch speaks.
"Heh, you may've gotten lucky stopping that combined Hyper Beam, but I doubt you can stop all four of our Pokemon at once" Butch says as he and Cassidy tell their Pokémon to charge. Grimer, Rhyhorn, Raticate and Fearow all charge at Charmander going to attack the fire lizard. Charmander closes its eyes it begins to charge up the fire inside of it as its desire to protect this boy and his friends Charmander grows it opens its eyes let's out a mighty roar.
"CHAR!" Charmander yells as it fires a big and perfect Flamethrower at Cassidy and Butch's Pokémon easily knocking them out. The knockout Pokémon then crash into Cassidy and Butch as they are shot high in air away from the group and yell.
'WE'LL, GET YOU BRATS NEXT TIME!" Cassidy and Butch yell as they fly out of view. The group smile and cheer.
"Way to go Charmander!" The group let out a loud cheer running up to the fire lizard congratulating it making Charmander happy. The celebrating doesn't last for long as they then hear clapping behind them. They all turn around and their faces quickly turn angry as they see Damian who speaks.
"Well done Charmander looks like that break was worth it after all" Damian says with a smile as Brock yells.
"What do you want Damian?!" Brock yells as Damian speaks.
"I'm here to get Charmander back like I promised" Damian responds as he looks at the fire lizard Ash speaks.
"Oh, please you only want it back after it beat Team Rocket you never cared about Charmander!" Ash yells with Brock and Misty nodding as Charmander looks at Ash Damian speaks.
"Sigh that's where you're wrong, I've always cared about Charmander I just didn't like that it kept losing to opponents it could beat that's why I thought it would be a good idea to let it rest then come back after its fully rested because I knew it would be stronger" Damian says with only speaking in half-truth as Misty speaks.
"Yeah, right I doubt Charmander wants to go back with you!" Misty says with Damian smiling.
"Of course, it'll come back to me, I'm the one who was able to make it as strong as it is and be the one who'll help it finally achieve its dream of being a powerful Charizard one day so come on Charmander let's continue that dream" Damian says with a smile the group looks at Charmander who's deep in thought.
It's true that Damian did help it grow stronger and win many battles that it couldn't have won on its own. But Charmander always knew there was something off with Damian, it felt it the first day it met the boy, but Charmander didn't think much of it and was just happy to finally have a trainer. But while journeying with Damian Charmander felt that feeling inside Damian grow more and more especially whenever it lost a battle and after Damian made it stay on a rock for a week with no intention of ever coming back for it. Even though it's been short Charmander already feels a stronger connection with Ash and his friends more than the 3 months Charmander has spent with Damian Charmander then makes his decision.
"Char" Charmander says as it points to Ash meaning that it chooses him making Damian angry as he speaks.
"You ungrateful lizard after everything I've done for you, you choose to go with that weak trainer instead of me? Well, that's fine by me because not only will I get rid of them I'll get rid of YOU TOO! ONIX, POILWRATH AND MACHOKE COME OUT DEAL WITH THE TRATOR!" Damian yells as he sends out his three Pokémon. They all look at the traitorous fire lizard and have angry looks on their faces. Charmander gets scared of their glares but shakes its head and returns it back making Ash smile and bring out two Pokeballs.
"Yeah, Charmander don't back down I'll battle with you Bulbasaur, Squirtle come out and help Charmander!" Ash says while throwing the two Pokeball's forward. Bulbasaur and Squirtle come out ready to battle and stand next to Charmander. They were listening to the conversation the whole time while inside their Pokeball's they'll make sure to make this Damian kid pay and help out Charmander as Damian speaks.
"What are those weak Pokémon going to do?!" Damian says as Ash speaks.
"They may look weak, but all of my Pokémon are strong!" Ash says while having determined look Pikachu, Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur and Ash's other Pokémon in their Pokeball's agree as Damian speaks.
"Heh whatever I've 3 badges already so there's no way you can beat me!" Damian says as he calls for his commands.
"Onix use Rockslide, Poliwrath Hydro Pump and Machoke use Focus Blast" Damian calls as his Pokémon fire the moves at the three starters Ash speaks.
"3 badges mean nothing! Squirtle use Rapid Spin to bounce off the rocks, Bulbasaur use Vine Whip on the ground to dodge Hydro Pump and Charmander run under Machoke to get behind it!" Ash calls as all three starters dodge getting close to Damian's Pokémon. When the 3 starters make it to their respective opponent Ash speaks.
"Squirtle use Water Gun, Bulbasaur use Razor Leaf and Charmander use Flamethrower!" Ash commands as all three Pokémon launch their attacks successfully hitting Damian's Pokémon and dealing major damage. Damian's getting angry while Ash smiles and speaks.
"Yeah! Way to go guys!" Ash cheers with the 3 starters smiling back as Damian speaks.
"It's not over yet you brat! Onix use Dragon Breath on Squirtle!" Damian calls Onix fires a stream of white draconic energy from its mouth it heads for Squirtle as Ash speaks.
"Squirtle dodge and use Water Gun!" Ash commands as Squirtle dodges Onix's attack and lands the Water Gun on Onix the giant rock snake roars in pain making Damian angrier as he speaks.
"GRRRRR! Poilwrath, Machoke get rid of that blue turtle with Dynamic Punch!" Damian calls the two large Pokémon charge at Squirtle as Ash speaks.
"Bulbasaur trip them with Grass Knot" Ash calls Bulbasaur nods as it summons two small grass knots that trip Poilwrath and Machoke making them fall on their stomachs. The two-mons groan in pain as Ash speaks.
"Now Flamethrower!" Ash calls Charmander leaps above the two big Pokémon and fires the hot flames out of its mouth burning the Pokémon. It doesn't do much damage to Poilwarth but does cause a burn status and Machoke is knocked out making Damian angry as he yells.
"HOW'D YOU LOSE YOU'RE A DISGRACE!" Damian says to Machoke he then returns the mon as he calls for his next attack.
"Poilwrath use Surf!" Damian calls Poilwarth summons a large wave of water covering the field. Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle are hit causing some damage, but Damian made a mistake using that move as it also hits Onix knocking out the large rock snake making the boy angrier as Ash speaks.
"It's time we end this Bulbasaur Razor Leaf and Squirtle use Scald!" Ash calls Bulbasaur and Squirtle fire their respective moves hitting Poilwrath and knocking it out making Ash the victor and Damian the loser. Ash along with the 3 starters cheer in victor as Damian yells.
"NO! IT'S NOT OVER YET I'M NOT DONE YET!" Damian screams as he takes out his other 17 Pokeball's and throws them in the air sending out all the Pokemon he currently has on hand. There are 2 Fearows, 3 Dugtrio's, 2 Beedrills, 3 Dodrio's, 3 Grimer's, 1 Magneton, 1 Arbok, 1 Weezing and 1 Persian. The 17-mons glare at the 3 starters as Misty speaks.
"Hey that's not fair!" Misty says as Damian yells.
"SHUT UP YOU THINK I CARE ABOUT BEING FAIR I'M NOT GOING TO LET THE SON OF RED KETCHUM BEAT ME! NOW ALL OF YOU FIRE!" Damian screams as all his Pokémon fire a large beam that heads straight for Ash, Pikachu and the 3 starters. Ash is about to return his Pokémon and try to dodge the beam, but notices Charmander jump forward taking the beam head on. The 3 trainers along with their Pokémon are surprised as they yell.
"CHARMANDER!" Ash, Misty, Brock, and the groups Pokémon scream out in worry for the fire lizard as it tries its best to stop the beam Damian smiles and speaks.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA GOOD YOU CAN PERISH TOO! KEEP FIRING!" Damian screams as his Pokémon start to add more power to the beam pushing Charmander back a little but the fire lizard stands its ground Ash and friends look on in amazement at how brave/strong Charmander is, but Ash knows Charmander can't do this by itself it needs help. Ash then looks at his Pokémon and speaks.
"Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Squirtle let's help out Charmander!" Ash says Pikachu, Bulbasaur and Squirtle quickly jump in to help Charmander hold the beam. The fire lizard is shocked and looks at the 3 Pokémon who smile and nod telling Charmander that they're ending this together. Charmander looks at them and is happy that it's not alone anymore. It has friends who'll protect it whenever it needs help and it'll protect them when they need help Charmander looks forward holding the beam with fiery determination in its eyes as it roars.
"CHARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!" Charmander let's out a loud roar as it glows a bright white and starts getting bigger shocking everyone as Damian yells.
"NO IT CAN'T BE!" Damian yells in anger as what used to be Charmander is now a Charmeleon Ash, and his friends are shocked to see the evolution, but Ash gets a big smile as do his Pokémon as they begin to push the beam back making it harder for Damian's Pokémon to hold on. Damain has an angry look on his face then speaks.
"After all the training I gave you, YOU EVOLVE FOR THEM BUT NOT ME?! KEEP ADDING MORE POWER DESTROY THOSE POKEMON!" Damian screams his Pokémon continue to fire as hard as they can, but Ash's Pokémon keep pushing the beam back as Ash yells.
"GOOOOOOOOOO!" Ash yells with his Pokémon doing the same as they are able to cancel the beam then fire their own attacks, Bulbasaur uses Razor leaf, Squirtle uses Water Gun, Pikachu uses Thunderbolt and Charmeleon fire's a big and perfected Flamethrower. The moves combine creating a big beam than the one before and destroys it. The combined attack consumes all of Damian's Pokémon and Damian himself there's a big explosion as the group see Damian and his Pokémon sore threw the air.
"I'LL GET YOU SON OF RED KETCHUM!" Damian screams as he and his Pokémon fly farther and farther away from the group in the sky and becoming out of view. Once Damain's gone Ash smiles and yells.
"ALRIGHT!" Ash yells as all of his Pokémon cheer, they all tackle him to the ground, including Charmeleon Misty and Brock look happily at Ash and his Pokémon as Brock speaks.
"He's a really amazing trainer" Brock says having a smile on his face as Misty speaks.
"Yeah" Misty responds with her face blushing, Brock notices but won't say anything. They continue to watch Ash's Pokémon hug Ash as the boy speaks.
"Hahahaha come guys get off that tickles" Ash says while laughing as the Pokémon get off him, he then looks at all of them.
"You guys were amazing, especially you Charmeleon you really surprised me and congrats on your evolution" Ash says petting the fire lizard on the head with Pikachu, Squirtle and Bulbasaur congratulating it as well Charmeleon smiles back at them as Ash continues to speak.
"Hey Charmeleon if you don't have anywhere else to go do you want to come with us?" Ash asks with a smile. Everyone looks at the fire lizard waiting for its answer, but Charmeleon doesn't take long as it smiles.
"Char!" Charmeleon says and nods its head happily as it wants to join Ash and everyone else. Ash smiles and speaks.
"Welcome to the group" Ash says as he throws a Pokeball in the air Charmeleon jumps up touches the ball and gets sucked inside the ball immediately dings confirming Ash caught Charmeleon. Ash catches the ball he looks at it and speaks.
"Alright I just caught a Charmeleon!" Ash says while doing his pose with Pikachu, Bulbasaur and Squirtle joining in as well. After that Charmeleon's Pokeball disappears transporting to Professor Oak's lab. Misty and Brock return their Pokémon and walk over to Ash as Brock speaks.
"Congratulations Ash you caught a Charmeleon" Brock says with Ash nodding as Misty speaks.
"Yeah, congrats Ash you and your Pokémon were amazing" Misty says with a blush on her face, Ash doesn't notice then speaks.
"Thanks, you guys" Ash responds with a smile.
10 minutes later the group is back at the Pokémon Center they were at earlier Ash just made his transfer to put Charmeleon on his team with Pidgeotto going to Oak's lab to train and keep Butterfree company. They also told Professor Oak about their encounter with Damian, once that's over the group leave the center as Ash grabs Charmeleon's Pokeball and throws it in the air.
"Charmeleon I choose you!" Ash says as Charmeleon comes out it happily looks at Ash. Ash bends down getting on Charmeleon's eye level then speaks.
"Thanks for coming with me Charmeleon I'm really happy I've always wanted my own Charmeleon after seeing my dad's Charizard battle it's really strong possibly the strongest in the world." Ash says as Charmeleon gets really excited to one day evolve into a Charizard and to one day battle Red's Charizard as Ash continues to speak.
"Yeah, I like that look in your eyes let's keep training and get stronger so that one day we can win the league, battle my dad and achieve my dream of becoming a Pokémon Master!" Ash yells excitedly as do Pikachu and Charmeleon the three of them then begin running forward leaving Brock and Misty behind. The two trainers sigh as Brock speaks.
"He never slows down, does he?" Brock asks having a smile on his face as Misty speaks.
"Nope that's just who he is" Misty responds smiling too. After that they then begin to chase after Ash, Pikachu and Charmeleon.
Meanwhile somewhere on Mt. Sliver the highest point in the Johto region we see Red and his Charizard standing in snow looking up at the sky as Red speaks.
"Do you feel that Charizard I'm not sure why but I've a feeling that Ash will one day give us a battle to remember let's train hard for that day" Red says excitedly as Charizard gives a mighty roar looking forward to the day to battle its trainer's son as Red continues to speak.
"Even though I say that I feel it's not going to happen until many years down the line which is disappointing but by that point Ash and his Pokémon will be very experienced, he'll experience many things both good and bad, but I hope he's having fun on his journey. Hmmm…. now that I think about it maybe I should give Delia a call I haven't spoken to her in a few months hehehe" Red laughs as does Charizard the two of them then begin walking down the mountain to find a video phone to call Delia.
Elsewhere somewhere on route 24 we see an injured and angry Damian talking to Proton.
"That's all that happened today" The angry Damian says as Proton speaks.
"I see this kid really is getting strong and fast" Proton says as Damian speaks.
"What should I do sir?" Damian asks as Proton speaks.
"Hmmm… tell me Damian how badly do you want to defeat Ash Ketchum?" Proton asks as Damian speaks.
"I really want to sir, and I'll do whatever it takes!" Damian yells with Proton smiling evilly.
"Okay then I think it's time for you to become a full-on member of Team Rocket and we'll let you in on the plan to get rid of not only Red but Ash Ketchum as well" Proton says with Damian getting an evil smile too as he speaks.
"Yes, sir I'll become a member of Team Rocket and help you get rid of that brat" Damian says with Proton nodding.
"Okay then come to the Sliph. Co building that we're currently taking over, you'll become an official member of our organization and we'll tell you our plan" Proton says with Damian nodding and the call ending.
Currently in the Vermillion City Gym we see Paul and he's currently battling a giant tan man with blonde hair and wearing an army uniform as the man speaks.
"Raichu use your Thunderbolt!" The large man says with the large mouse firing the attack as Paul speaks.
"Take the hit Grotle and end this with Energy ball" Paul commands as the large grass turtle fires a ball of grass energy easily cutting through the Thunderbolt hitting Raichu and knocking it out as the ref speaks.
"Lt. Surge's Raichu is unable to battle Grotle is the winner making Paul the challenger the winner!" The ref calls Lt. Surge returns Raichu and walks to Paul.
"Here this is the Thunder Badge, it's proof of your victory today thanks for a good battle" Lt. Surge says with Paul taking the badge saying thank you and leaving the gym walking to the Pokémon Center.
It's the next day we then see Ash and friends finally entering the city. They all have tired looks on their faces as Misty speaks.
"Ah finally" Misty says tiredly with Ash, Pikachu and Brock agreeing as Brock speaks.
It took a couple weeks, but we finally made it" Brock says happily with the others nodding as Ash speaks.
"Yeah, this is where I'm going to get my third badge let's win this Pikachu" Ash says looking at the yellow mouse who nods in agreement the group then walk to the Pokémon Center. When they enter, they all gasp as they see a lot of injured Pokémon in the center and run to the front desk to ask nurse joy.
"What's happened here nurse joy?" Ash asks in a worried tone as the woman speaks.
"You see our gym leader Lt. Surge defeated all these trainers here" Nurse Joy responded surprising the group as Misty speaks.
"Whoa he must be really strong to defeat everyone here" Misty says as she looks around at all the trainers. As she continues to look her eyes widened when she spots a familiar purple hair boy and speaks.
"It's Paul!" Misty says loudly making Ash, Brock and Paul look at her, Paul is about to walk away but Ash quickly runs over to him and speaks.
"Hey Paul, did you lose to the gym leader as well?" Ash asks as Paul speaks.
"Of course, not only a weakling would lose to him" Paul responds arrogantly as Misty and Brock walk next to Ash. Pau's surprised to see Brock again he looks at the teen and speaks.
"So, I'm guessing you're travelling with them?" Paul asks, with Brock nodding his head Misty then looks at the boy with anger in her eyes and speaks.
"Hey, how dare you call my sister pathetic!" Misty says as Paul speaks.
"I don't know what you're talking about" Paul responds making Misty angry.
"You don't remember calling my sister Violet pathetic?!" Misty yells with Paul finally remembering.
"Oh, so you're the sister of that weakling. I heard she was supposed to be the strongest out of the sisters, but I was disappointed when her Pokémon lost to my Turtwig" Paul says making Misty mad as she speaks.
"My sister wasn't feeling like herself during that time if you battled her again, she'll definitely beat you!" Misty says as Paul smiles then speaks.
"Hmph even if what you said is true, I just got done battling an even stronger gym leader yesterday and won. If I went to battle Violet again, I'll still win" Paul responds having a confident look on his with Misty having steam coming out of her head angry with Paul's logic Ash then speaks.
"Hey Paul let's have a battle me and my Pokémon have gotten stronger than when you met us last time" Ash says with a determined look as Pikachu sparks its cheeks, Paul takes a few moments to think it over then smiles as he begins to speak.
"Ok I'll battle you but only if you beat Lt. Surge if you do that, I'll battle you it'll be a 4v4 like I suggested last time with no substitutions. I won't watch the gym battle this time since the outcome is obvious" Paul finishes he looks at Ash for his answer as the boy speaks.
"You got it! I'll win and prove you wrong" Ash says with fire in his eyes as the chapter comes to an end.
Thank you for reading if you've made this far. And that's chapter 7 how do you guys think I handled Charmander and Damian? Damian is now also going to join TR hope he doesn't cause too much trouble for the gang. I had Charmander evolve here since he's much stronger here than in canon and him evolving for Ash instead of Damian I felt was a nice idea and goes to show how differently Ash and Damian are.
Next chapter will come out next week it'll focus the gym battle between Ash and Lt. Surge, and it'll also have Ash and Paul battling each other for the first time in this series I hope you all look forward to it!
