Chapter 11: SS. Anne Tournament Round 1
Hello everyone, this chapter will mainly cover the battles of round 1 of the tournament enjoy!
We begin where the last chapter left off with Pikachu and Sawk colliding with each other we see the 2-mons pushing each other back and forth as Alex speaks.
"The battle has just begun between Ash and Stephan and its already intense!" Alex announces as Stephan speaks.
"Sawk use your free arm to hit Pikachu!" Stephan calls as Sawk raises its left arm then goes to strike Pikachu as Ash speaks.
"Pikachu counter with Iron Tail!" Ash calls Pikachu quickly counters the Brick Break knocking Sawks hand away. Sawk and Pikachu then go back to their sides of the battlefield both trainer's and Pokémon smile at each other knowing this is going to be a good battle. On the commentators' stage Violet speaks.
"Hmmm impressive" Violet says with Surge nodding his head in agreement meanwhile Gary and Goodshow continue to watch the battle as Stephan calls for a command.
"Now Sawk use Bulk up!" Stephan calls as Ash speaks.
"What's Bulk up?" Ash asks but soon gets his answer when he sees Sawks muscles begin to grow as the Pokémon flexes, but its muscles go back to their regular size. Sawk continues to look at Pikachu as Alex speaks.
"Stephan has used Bulk up to boost the attack and defense power of Sawk how will Ash deal with it?!" Alex says, back in the stands Kiawe speaks.
"Pikachu's are known for having low defenses if Pikachu gets hit once the battle is over" Kiawe says as Brock speaks.
"Nah I would worry about that Ash's Pikachu has been doing a lot of endurance training it can tank a lot of hits before going down" Brock says as Leaf speaks.
"Yeah, it gave my Venusaur when it was an Ivysaur a pretty difficult time during a training battle it's a really tough cookie" Leaf says with Misty, Giselle, and Joe agreeing with her. Kiawe looks at them before looking back at the battle meanwhile Ritchie and Sparky are paying very close attention to Ash and Pikachu as well. Back on the battlefield Ash calls for his next command.
"Pikachu use Quick Attack and charge up an Iron Tail!" Ash calls Pikachu dashes forward at Sawk while charging up an Iron Tail. Stephan smirks and speaks.
"Heh, I know what you're planning Ash, but it won't work Sawk use Low Sweep!" Stephan calls Sawk, nods, it slides forward with its right leg forward and kicks Pikachu hard in the face. But the kick doesn't knock Pikachu away instead Pikachu holds on to Sawk's leg tightly and it begins to spark its cheeks as Ash speaks.
"Great job Pikachu now Thunderbolt!" "Sawk quick get Pikachu off your leg with Close Combat!" Both trainers call Sawk's about to use Close Combat, but Pikachu was too fast as it fires the Thunderbolt shocking Sawk making it cry out in pain.
"SAWK!" Sawk screams in pain Pikachu then let's go the yellow mouse backs a few feet away. When Sawk stands back up it bends down on one knee as it's now paralyzed. Stephan has a surprised look on his face along with the other trainers while Ash smiles. Back at the commentators' area Violet speaks.
"I see so he had Pikachu take the hit to get in close so it could fire a full power Thunderbolt not only damaging Sawk but paralyzing it as well amazing" Violet says as Surge speaks.
"Yep, that's Red Ketchum's son for ya coming up with crazy ideas hahaha" Surge says with a laugh while Gary and Goodshow continue to not say anything as they continue to watch the battle. Back on the battlefield Ash speaks.
"Good job Pikachu!" "Rai!" Ash and Raichu cheer as Pikachu smiles back and nods Stephan then speaks.
"We're not done yet come on Sawk don't let a little paralysis stop you!" Stephan calls Sawk nods standing back up ready to continue the battle. This doesn't surprise Ash or Pikachu they knew that wouldn't have been enough to knockout Sawk. Stephan smiles and speaks.
"That's what I like to see! Now use focus energy!" Stephan calls as Sawk begins to focus its power making Ash a bit worried.
"I got to be careful Sawk already increased its attack with bulk up now that it's using Focus Energy it'll allow Sawk to land a critical hit on Pikachu, Pikachu can probably take one hit, but another would KO it I need to end this battle fast" Ash thinks to himself as he calls for his next move.
"Pikachu use Tail Whip!" Ash calls Pikachu nods as it begins to whip its tail back and forth confusing Sawk and Stephan, but this does lower Sawk's defense which is what Ash was looking for as he calls for his next command.
"Now Thunder!" Ash calls Pikachu summons a large bolt of lightning from the sky it heads for Sawk as Stephan speaks.
"Dodge then use Façade!" Stephan calls Sawk quickly dodges the Thunder and runs as fast as it can towards Pikachu until it's in front of it.
"SAWK!" Sawk yells as it brings its right fist down to hit Pikachu Ash calls for a command.
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!" Ash calls Pikachu quickly fires the move shocking Sawk it groans in pain but fights through as it punches Pikachu into the ground with façade creating a big crater on the battlefield. When the dust clears everyone can see Pikachu laying down groaning in pain as Alex speaks.
"Ouch! Pikachu's really got to be feeling that!" Alex says as Sawk gets on one knee again as it begins to pant. Back in the stands Mallow looks at Brock and speaks.
"Say Brock what does Façade do?" Mallow asks as Brock speaks.
"Well, it's a move that grows stronger when the Pokemon has a status condition, so Pikachu probably took a lot of damage" Brock responds with Mallow nodding as Clian speaks.
"You're right about that Brock but if Ash didn't tell Pikachu to use Thunderbolt when he did to minimize the damage of the Façade Pikachu probably would've been knocked out" Cilan says with everyone nodding as Giselle speaks.
"Oh, that's just like my prince, not only handsome but smart" Giselle says happily as not only Misty, but everyone rolls their eyes they then continue to watch the battle as Ash speaks.
"You okay Pikachu?!" Ash asks in concern Pikachu groans a little bit it stands back up but is okay making Ash smile as Stephan speaks.
"Come on Sawk you're not done let's get this battle over with use Close Combat!" Stephan calls Sawk roars and jumps towards Pikachu going to strike as Ash speaks.
"Dodge with Quick Attack and jump in the air!" Ash calls before Sawk could reach Pikachu the yellow mouse jumps in the air dodging the attack making Sawk punch the ground. Everyone looks at the now air born Pikachu the yellow mouse begins to spark is cheeks as Ash sepaks.
"We've trained hard to master this move now's the time to use it Pikachu use Wild Charge!" Ash calls Pikachu nods. The yellow mouse covers its body in electricity and begins to fall towards Sawk. Stephan tells Sawk to dodge but the mon can't move because of the paralysis. Stephan grits his teeth as he calls for his next command.
"Sawk fight back with Façade!" Stephan calls Sawk nods as both of its fists glow. Sawk then jumps in the air it points both of its fists forward and collides with Pikachu. The 2-mons begin pushing each other back and forth then yell.
"PIKA!" "SAWK!" Both Pokemon yell as they want to win this battle for their trainers. Sawk then starts to push Pikachu back a little making Stephan happy but then the paralysis kicks in again making Sawk lose its strength. Both Ash and Pikachu see this as their chance as Ash speaks.
"Now Pikachu!" "Rai!" Ash and Raichu yell with Pikachu nodding.
"PIKA!" Pikachu yells as pushes down with all its might. The yellow mouse manages to knock away Sawks fists and Sawk in the stomach causing Sawk to cough in pain. The 2-mons then fall hitting the ground hard creating a cloud of smoke. As the smoke is clearing everyone is waiting to see who's still standing. When the smoke clears everyone's surprised to see that both Pikachu and Sawk are standing. They glare at each other while panting heavily Pikachu takes recoil damage from using Wild Charge then gets on one knee but continues to look at Sawk. 5 seconds later Sawk smiles he gives Pikachu a bow and falls on its back completely knocked out as the ref speaks.
"Stephan's Sawk is unable to battle making Ash's Pikachu's the winner!" The ref calls Ash smiles and speaks.
"Alright! We did it Pikachu!" "Rai! Rai!" Ash and Raichu cheer Pikachu smiles and runs to them giving them a hug. The crowd cheers too as Giselle speaks.
"Ashy Kins you were amazing!" Giselle yells happily as Joe speaks.
"That was a great battle!" Joe yells as Leaf speaks.
"Yeah, Ash and Pikachu you showed them that Pallet Town Spirit!" Leaf cheers happily. Everyone else cheers except for Kiawe, Ritche and Iris they say one thing in their minds "impressive" they smile as they begin to clap. Stephan, who's in shock smiles as walks over to Sawk and helps him stand up. Sawk tells his trainer sorry as Stephan speaks.
"It's okay Sawk you did great Sawk take a good rest" Stephan says with Sawk nodding as it goes back in its Pokeball. Stephan then walks over to Ash and his Pokémon with Ash seeing Stephan coming over to him. When Stephan gets close enough Ash speaks.
"Hey Stephan, your Sawk was amazing" Ash says with a smile as Stephan speaks.
"Thanks Ash, your Pikachu was amazing too I've never seen a Pikachu as strong as yours" Stephan says as Ash speaks.
"Thanks, we've trained a lot though if Sawk wasn't paralyzed the outcome could've been different" Ash says with Stephan nodding.
"Well, it's still my loss I hope you do well in the rest of the tournament and if we ever battle again, I won't lose" Stephan says while holding out his hand making Ash smile as he speaks.
"Yeah, me neither" Ash says taking Stephan's hand as they both shake with the crowd clapping for them as Alex speaks.
"Great sportsman ship from both Ash and Stephan now let's hear what our commentators have to say" Alex says as he hands the mic to Lt. Surge.
"It was a great battle you two you both showed power and skill I was on the edge of my seat the whole time Hahahaha" Surge says with a laugh as he passes the mic to Violet.
"Yes, it was a wonderful battle" Violet says as she passes the mic to Gary.
"Hmph not bad Ashy Boy but don't get cocky just because you won one battle let's see if you can reach the top" Gary says with Ash nodding the mic is then finally passed to Goodshow. Everyone is interested to hear his thoughts as he speaks.
"Yes, you two gave us a great starting battle I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and I hope the rest of the battles we see today get me that excited as well" Goodshow says while smiling the crowd lets out a loud cheer. Ash then goes to sit with his friends who congratulate him and Pikachu. Giselle tries to kiss Ash on the cheek, but Misty stops her by pulling her ear making the girl pout while everyone else laughs. Meanwhile in another part of the crowd the disguised Archer speaks.
"Looks like your information was right that Pikachu is strong" Archer says while looking at the trio in disguised who nod their heads Alex then speaks.
"Our next battle will be Misty and Magikarp Salesman will both trainers please make your way to the battlefield!" Alex calls as Misty speaks.
"Well it's my turn" Misty says, having a determined look on her face as Giselle speaks.
"Don't lose too early" Giselle says in a mocking tone making Misty angry as Ash speaks.
"Good luck Misty I'm sure you'll win" Ash says with a smile with Misty smiling back at him as she goes towards the battlefield. Back with the disguised rockets Petral looks at Cassidy and Butch.
"So, this Salesman is one of the trainers you picked?" Petral asks with the two nodding as Butch speaks.
"Yes, he told us his Magikarp are the strongest in the world" Butch responds with Cassidy nodding Petral doesn't believe that Magikarp can be strong Pokémon. But he thinks that if Magikarp belonging to Ash can be strong then so can other ones. Back on the battlefield we see Misty and her opponent take their positions as the ref speaks.
"This will be a 1v1 battle between Misty the 4th gym leader of the Cerulean City gym and Magikarp Salesman now please send out your Pokémon!" The ref says, Misty takes a quick glance at Violet giving her a smile with Violet doing the same Misty then looks at Wimpod in her arms.
"You ready for your first official trainer battle?" Misty asks with Wimpod nodding.
"Okay Wimpod I choose you!" Misty says as Wimpod jumps out of Misty's arms and lands on the battlefield. The Arthropod gets into a battle stance and waits for its opponent as the Magikarp Salesman speaks.
"A Wimpod? Ha! this will be too easy behold the strongest Magikarp in the world!" The Salesman says as he throws Magikarp's Pokeball forward. What comes out shocks everyone when Magikarp appears it's not the usual red skin instead its skin is gold. Everyone looks on in awe even Archer, Petral, Gary, the ref and the man in a brown jacket wearing a Croagunk mask looks interested as Alex speaks.
"I can't believe this folk Salesman's brought out a gold Magikarp this should be an exciting battle!" Alex says with the crowd getting excited as the ref speaks.
"Now that both trainers have brought out their Pokémon let the battle begin!" the ref calls as the Salesman speaks.
"Hahahaha now feel the awesome power of Magikarp!" Salesman says while having a confident look on his face, Misty gets serious and speaks.
"Wimpod get ready!" Misty says with Wimpod nodding as the Salesman calls for a command.
"Magikarp Hydro Pump!" Salesman calls Magikarp begins to take a deep breath everyone looks on in amazement expecting to see Magikarp use Hydro Pump. A couple seconds later the Pokémon begins to shoot out water but instead of a big stream of water like everyone was expecting only two drops of water comes out making everyone dumbfounded while the Salesman laughs.
"Hahahaha! Did you see that my Magikarp can shoot water from its mouth now use Bounce!" Salesman calls everyone begins to think the Hydro Pump was probably a fluke surely this Magikarp can use Bounce? Everyone continues to look at Magikarp as it uses the move. But instead of jumping high in the air all it does is bounce up and down not doing anything leaving everyone dumbfounded again. The Salesman laughs as he calls for his next command.
"You've let your guard down now Magikarp use Tackle!" Salesman calls and Magikarp does indeed tackle Wimpod but it does nothing to the bug as Magikarp goes to splashing.
"Hahahaha! See that my Magikarp is so strong that all your Wimpod can do is stand there Hahahaha!" Salesman laughs with everyone looking at the man in disappointment even the ref is disappointed, Misty has an annoyed look on her face and has had enough as she calls for an attack.
"Wimpod please end this battle with Scald" Misty says with disappointment in her voice Wimpod nods as it fires the hot water at Magikarp and hits the fish. Not only does the Scald knock it out but also washes off the gold paint on Magikarps body as it's now back to its red skin making everyone angry. Misty picks up Wimpod and begins walking back to her seat. The ref doesn't bother to say Misty is the winner everyone knows she won. The Salesman has a surprised look on his face as he yells.
"NOOOOOO! How could you do that I was planning on selling it once I was done with this battle to con someone!" The Salesman says in anger but realizes his mistake as the crowd begins to yell at the man and throw food at him calling him all sorts of names. Archer then looks at Cassidy and Butch then speaks.
"I hope for your sakes that the other trainers you picked are better" Archer says with anger/disappointment in his voice as he, Petral, the rocket trio, and the other disguised grunts glare at Cassidy and Butch who are also disappointed. The Magikarp salesman is then arrested by one of the Jenny's guarding the egg and is taken away as Alex speaks.
"So do our commentators have anything to say?" Alex asks as the 4 of them speak.
"No comment" Surge, Violet, Gary, and Goodshow say with anger/disappointment in their voices. Misty makes it back to her friends while looking down she sits next to Ash but doesn't say anything and neither does anyone else. Giselle doesn't say anything either as she knows if she said something it would be bad. Meanwhile, back on the stage Alex speaks.
"Well now that, that's done will the next two challengers walk down to the battlefield?!" Alex announces as the next two trainers walk down to the battlefield to begin their battle. The battles after Misty's have gone much better there are many strong trainers here, some disguised rocket grunts won their battles, the disguised Cassidy and Butch won their battles Ash, Misty, and Brock got a feeling as though they've seen them before. Some of the trainers Cassidy and Butch picked won their battles. Petral (calling himself Larry) won his battle easily with a Koffing making the group impressed, it's now Archer's turn his opponent is against a trainer wearing a witch outfit and is named Lilly. The 2 trainers stare at each other as the ref speaks.
"Trainers please send out your Pokémon!" The ref calls Archer (going by the name Justin) sends out a Hypno while Lilly sends out a Murkrow the 2-mons appear and get into battle stances as the ref speaks.
"Battle begin!" the ref calls Lilly makes the first move.
"Let's end this in one shot Murkrow use Dark Pulse!" Lilly calls Murkrow quickly fires the dark stream of energy as Archer speaks.
"Dodge then use Hypnosis" Archer calls Hypno easily dodges the Dark Pulse and sends out hypnotic waves with its pendent that puts Murkrow to sleep. The bird floats down on the battlefield as Lilly speaks.
"Come on Murkrow wake up!" Lilly pleads but Murkrow is fast asleep as Archer calls for a command.
"Now Focus Blast" Archer calls Hypno fires the move at the sleeping Murkrow and hits it easily knocking it out as the ref speaks.
"Murkrow is unable to battle making Hypno and its trainer Justin the winner!" The ref calls Archer returns Hypno and walks back to his seat without saying anything to Lilly and is not interested in hearing the commentators' comments. Back in the stands the group is surprised by how quickly Archer defeated his opponent as Ritchie speaks.
"He's strong" Ritchie says with the group nodding as they hear another announcement.
"Will Brock and Hiker Bill please come to the battlefield?!" Alex calls as Brock stands up.
"Will it's finally my turn" Brock says with a smile as Ash and Misty speak.
"You got this Brock!" Ash and Misty say Brock tells them thank you as Kiawe speaks.
"I'm really interested in seeing how strong you've become good luck" Kiawe says with Brock nodding as he and Hiker Bill walk to the battlefield and take their positions. The two look at each other as the ref speaks.
"Please send out your Pokémon!" The ref calls Hiker Bill sends out a Rhyhorn while Brock brings out Sandshrew the 2-mons get into battle stances as the ref speaks.
"Battle begin!" The ref calls Bill makes the first move.
"Rhyhorn use Rockslide!" Bill calls with Rhyhorn summoning multiple large boulders around it and flings Sandshrew. Neither the ground mouse nor Brock are worried as Brock speaks.
"Use Rapid spin and Bounce off the Boulders!" Brock calls Sandshrew nods, it begins to spin and bounces on each of the boulders getting high in the air until it's high enough as Bill speaks.
"Use Smack down!" Bill calls Rhyhorn fires a small rock at Sandshrew as Brock speaks.
"Dodge use Swords Dance then use Rollout" Brock calls Sandshrew successfully dodges the Smack down it sharply raises its attack power then forms into a ball and begins rolling down towards Rhyhorn. Bill's unable to make a command in time as Sandshrew hits Rhyhorn on the head causing damage. Sandshrew then begins to roll around Rhyhorn as Bill speaks.
"Use Earthquake!" Bill calls Rhyhorn stomps its foot on the battlefield causing it to shake. This doesn't concern Brock or Sandshrew as Brock speaks.
"Sandshrew jump then use Brick Break!" Brock calls Sandshrew still rolling jumps into the air dodging the Earthquake and gets above Rhyhorn. It then shoots towards the 1 horn Pokémon its right-hand glows while and swings down hard on Rhyhorns head slamming it on the ground and knocking it out as the ref speaks.
"Rhyhorn is unable to battle Sandshrew and Brock are the winners!" The ref calls allowing for Sandshrew and Brock to celebrate with the crowd cheering as Surge speaks.
"You did great young man" Surge says as Violet speaks.
"I agree you and your Sandshrew did a really great job" Violet says happily as Brock gets hearts in his eyes at her words Gary then speaks.
"As I would expect from a former gym leader" Gary says as Goodshow speaks.
"Indeed" Goodshow says, Brock then heads back to where his friends are they congratulate him as Kiawe is excited to battle him Alex then speaks.
"Now will Leaf Green and Lara Laramie please come to the battlefield!" Alex calls Leaf gets up from her seat and immediately runs down to the battlefield ready to battle, surprising everyone (except Ash, Gary, Misty, and Brock) at how fast she is. Lara makes to the field too both girls take their positions they look at each other as the ref speaks.
"Please send out your first Pokemon!" the ref calls Lara pulls out a Pokeball and speaks.
"Go Rapidash!" Lara calls sending out a large fire horse like Pokemon it lets out a loud neigh then stares forward as Leaf speaks.
"Cool lets make this a Rapidash battle Go!" Leaf says as she brings out her own Rapidash that's not only a little bit bigger than Lara's, but it also has silver flames. The horse neigh's louder than Lara's and stomps the ground hard giving Lara's Rapidash a serious look with Lara's doing the same as the crowd roars in excitement as Ash speaks.
"Whoa! I didn't know that Leaf got a shiny Rapidash" Ash says with a shocked expression as Cilan speaks.
"Those flames they're absolutely perfect I have to evaluate her Rapidash once the day is over" Cilan says with everyone besides Iris wondering what he means by that. Back on the battlefield the ref speaks.
"Battle begin!" The ref calls as Lara makes the first move.
"Use Flamethrower!" Lara calls her Rapidash heats up its mouth and fires the stream of fire. The move heads for Leaf's Rapidash but Leaf does nothing and lets Rapidash get hit. Everyone except the commentators, Archer, Kiawe, Cilan, Brock, and Ritchie wonder what she's doing. Once the disappears Leaf's Rapidash appears from the flames completely unscathed surprising most of the crowd and Lara as she speaks.
"But why?" Lara asks while having a confused look on her face as Leaf speaks.
"Sorry but my Rapidash has the ability Flash Fire it absorbs fire type moves and increases Rapidashs fire type moves" Leaf says having a smile on her face. The flames of her Rapidash start to get bigger scaring Lara and her Rapidash as Lara's Rapidash takes a step back Leaf speaks.
"I'm going to guess that your Rapidash has the ability Run Away sorry Lara this is my win Rapidash use Flame Charge!" Leaf calls her Rapidash covers its body in fire and shoots forward hitting Lara's Rapidash before Lara could tell it to dodge. Lara's Rapidash groans in pain but stares back at Leaf's Rapidash as Lara speaks.
"We're not done yet use Quick Attack!" Lara calls her Rapidash shoots forward as Leaf speaks.
"Dodge then use Fire Blast!" Leaf calls her Rapidash dodges Lara's by jumping in the air getting above the fire horse. Leaf's Rapidash then heats up its mouth and fires a big silver blast of fire on Lara's Rapidash creating an explosion. When the explosion clears everyone can see Lara's Rapidash laying on its right side as the ref speaks.
"Lara's Rapidash is unable to battle Leaf and her Rapidash are the winners!" The ref calls Leaf smiles and begins to jump up and down with her Rapidash doing the same while the crowd cheers. Lara's sad that her Rapidash lost but smiles telling it thank you and returns it. Leaf appears in front of Lara telling her it was a good battle with Lara nodding, back in the stands Sophocles speaks.
"To be able to find a shiny Rapidash with a hidden ability is very impressive" Sophocles says with everyone nodding as Ash speaks.
"Leaf's really gotten stronger it makes me both nervous and excited to battle her" Ash says while having an excited look on his face as Misty and Iris speaks.
"Us Too!" Both girls say. Back on the battlefield Surge looks at Leaf and speaks.
"You and your Rapidash were amazing young lady" Surge says as Violet speaks.
"Yes, you've grown stronger after you battled my sister" Violet says happily with Leaf nodding as Goodshow speaks.
"The way you used Rapidash's ability was amazing to see" Goodshow says happily with Leaf nodding she then looks over at Gary and has a smile on her face waiting for the boy to speak.
"You did good" Gary says making Leaf happy it's not much but to Leaf that was good enough she winks at him saying thank you Gary blushes a little bit before he turns away from her Leaf then goes back to join everyone else. The group tell Leaf good job as Alex speaks.
"Now will Lana and Avarie please come to the battlefield" Alex calls back in the stands Lana stands up from her seat and speaks.
"It's my turn" Lana says excitedly her friends wish her good luck as she walks down to the battlefield her, and Avarie take their sides as the ref calls for them to send out their Pokémon.
"Beedrill Come Out!" Avarie calls sending out the large wasp Pokémon as Lana speaks.
"Go Popplio!" Lana says as Popplio jumps out of her arms and onto the field. Popplio and Beedrill look at each other ref calls for the match to begin as Avarie speaks.
"Beedrill use Poison Jab!" Avarie calls her Beedrill covers its stingers in poison then shoots towards Popplio as Lana speaks.
"Popplio dodge with Aqua Jet" Lana calls Popplio quickly covers its body in water it dodges the Poison Jab and gets behind Beedrill. Lana then calls for her next command.
"Now Ice Beam!" "Block it with your stingers!" Both Lana and Avarie make their commands as Popplio fires the icy beam, Beedrill quickly turns around and brings up its arms blocking the attack. But that ends up freezing Beedrills stingers which is what Lana wanted as she calls for her next command.
"Now use Aqua jet again and finish it with Ice Beam!" Lana calls Popplio covers its body in water and shoots forward hitting Beedrill in the chest. Beedrill coughs in pain as Popplio then fires the icy beam which freezes Beedrill and knocks it out as the ref makes the call.
"Beedrill is unable to battle Popplio and Lana are the winners!" The ref calls Popplio jumps into Lana's arms as Lana pets it and tells the seal good job. The commentators give their comments on the battle as Lana goes to join her friends. When Lana makes it, Misty looks at her.
"You were amazing Lana" Misty says as Lana speaks.
"Thank you, Misty," Lana responds with a smile as Alex speaks.
"Now will Sophocles and Dario come to the battlefield!" the ref calls as both trainers make their way to the battlefield and walk to their sides. The two boys stare at each other as Dario speaks.
"Heh this has to be a joke why's a little kid like you in this tournament?" Dario says with a smug look as Sophocles speaks.
"I'm here to win the Pokémon egg of course" Sophocles responds as Dario speaks.
"Heh, whatever you'll be easy to beat" Dario says while having a confident look on his face making Sophocles mad as the ref speaks.
"Trainers please send out your Pokémon!" The ref calls Dario brings out a Dodrio and Sophocles sends out Togedemaru. The ref calls for the battle to begin as Dario makes the first move.
"Dodrio let's end this quickly use Swords Dance then Drill Peck!" Dario calls Dodrio sharply raises its attack power, then all 3 beaks from the 3 headed bird start to spin Dodrio starts running towards Togedemaru as Sophocles speaks.
"Use Spiky Shield then end the battle with Zip Zap!" Sophocles calls when Dodrio goes to hit Togedemaru the little iron mouse summons a spiky grass shield that not only protects itself but also injures Dodrio in the process. Togedemaru then curls into a ball it has its spikes out with electricity flowing all over its body it shoots forward and rams into the 3 headed bird knocking it out as the ref speaks.
"Dodrio is unable to battle Togdemaru is the winner!" The ref calls Dario is furious that he lost while Sophocles and Togedemaru celebrate. Back in the stands Mallow speaks.
"Way to go Sophocles and Togdemaru!" Mallow cheers with the rest cheering as well the commentators tell Sophocles he did a great job as he goes back to where his friends are.
"Now will Croagunk mask and Jessica please make their way to the battlefield!" The ref calls as a girl with short blue hair wearing a red hat, yellow shirt, an orange shirt with black leggings and a man with a brown trench coat wearing a mask that looks like a Croagunk walk to their sides of the battlefield. When they make Archer looks at the man and thinks.
"Hmmm I'm not sure why but I feel like I've seen that man before" Archer says in his mind with Petral thinking the same thing. Back on the battlefield the ref calls for both trainers to send out their Pokémon as Jessica throws her Pokeball forward.
"Furfrou Go!" Jessica says as a dog having a design that looks like a Pharaoh appears. The crowd looks at in awe as Leaf speaks.
"Whoa! it looks so cool I want one!" Leaf says with the other girls agreeing as Brock speaks.
"I've heard that with Furfrou you can give them any design you want it would be an interesting Pokémon when it comes to learning how to groom a Pokémon" Brock says with Cilan agreeing. Back on the battlefield Croagunk Mask pulls out a Pokeball and throws it forward.
"Go Croagunk!" Croagunk Mask says as what appears is a small bipedal frog like Pokemon the poison Pokemon looks around until it sees its opponent and gets in a battle stance. Back in the stands Brock looks at the Pokemon curiously.
"Hmmmm" Brock says while thinking as Ash speaks.
"What is it, Brock?" Ash asks the others look at him too as Brock speaks.
"I don't know why but I get the feeling I'm going to catch a Croagunk one day" Brock responds as the group look at him confused.
"Battle begin!" the ref calls Jessica makes the first move
"Use Charm!" Jessica calls Furfrou winks at Croagunk hearts appear from Furfrous eyes heading towards the poison frog and hits it lowering Croagunks attack, but this doesn't faze it or its trainer as Croagunk Mask speaks.
"Use Nasty plot" Croagunk Mask calls as Croagunk begins to raise its special attack/defense Jessica then calls for a command.
"Furfrou use Take Down!" Jessica calls the large dog has a white aura covering its body then shoots forward heading for Croagunk as Croagunk Mask speaks.
"Dodge then use Nasty Plot again!" Croagunk Mask commands as Croagunk dodges by jumping over Furfrou. Furfrou stops itself, it looks at Croagunk as Jessica speaks.
"Use Charge Beam!" Jessica calls as Furfrou launches a beam of electricity towards Croagunk, Croagunk Mask quickly calls for a command.
"Now Focus Blast!" Croagunk Mask calls Croagunk quickly fires a ball of fighting energy and easily destroys the Charge Beam and hit Furfrou knocking it out. The ref then makes the call.
"Furfrou is unable to battle the winner is Croagunk Mask!" The ref calls with Croagunk Mask nodding. After that both trainers shake each other's hands hear from the commentators and go back to their seats. Once that's done Archer looks at Jessie, James, and Meowth then speaks.
"You three I want you to keep a close eye on Croagunk mask" Archer says making the trio confused as James speaks.
"But the boss told us to keep tabs on the twerp and his friends" James says as Archer speaks.
"We have other rocket members in disguise who can still do that" Archer responds as Jessie speaks.
"But why us specifically?" Jessie asks as Archer speaks.
"Well, I don't like or care about you, but I'll admit it you 3 are great at gathering information so I expect you to do the same for this mission as well" Archer responds the trio look at each other and smile they've never had an executive praise them on their abilities before and this will give them more motivation. The trio look at Archer and speak.
"Yes sir!" The trio say trying their best not to salute since that would blow their cover as Archer speaks.
"Good once today's round is over for the rest of the tournament, I want you 3 to gather as much information on that man as you can before the final day of the tournament" Archer says with the trio nodding they then turn their heads back to the battlefield as Alex speaks.
"Now will Iris and Dino come down to the battlefield!" Alex calls in the stands Iris stands up and speaks.
"Well, I'm off guys wish me luck" Iris says as she jumps high in the air does a few flips and makes a perfect landing on the battlefield making the crowd clap as Ash speaks.
"Wow she's really athletic" Ash says in amazement with the others nodding as Cilan speaks.
"That's Iris for you when she was younger, she used to climb trees" Cilan says as Ash looks at him.
"Hey Cilan, could you tell us a little about Iris?" Ash asks in curiosity with the others interested as well.
"Well, I don't know too much about her since I only met her a week ago, but what I can say is she's a very fun person, loves dragon types, and is a very skilled battler she told me she's been battling ever since she was 6 years old" Cilan says surprising the group as Kiawe speaks.
"Looks like we'll have to watch out for her" Kiawe says with the group nodding as Giselle speaks.
"Hmph please my Ashy Kins can beat her he's the son of Red after all" Giselle says in confidence, but the group ignore her as the battle is about to begin.
"Please send out your Pokémon!" The ref calls as Dino brings out his Pokémon first.
"Darmanitan Go!" Dino says sending out a large red ape like Pokémon with fiery eyebrows the Pokémon lets out a mighty roar and begins to pound its chest. Iris smiles, she pulls out a Pokeball and speaks.
"Excadrill You're Up!" Iris says she throws the ball forward as what appears is a mole like Pokémon with steel claws and a steel horn. Excadrill looks at its opponent and lets out a mighty roar as well ready to battle. Back in the stands Leaf has stars in her eyes and speaks.
"Whoa! those Pokémon look so cool I would love to study them" Leaf says while she (alongside Ash) has an excited look in her eyes and begins scanning the two Pokémon with her Pokedex as Brock speaks.
"This should be an interesting battle both Pokémon have an advantage against each other" Brock says as Cilan speaks.
"Yes, Darmanitan is a pure fire type Pokémon and has the advantage on Excadrill who's part steel type, but Excadrill also has an advantage since it's also part ground which is super effective against fire" Cilan says with the group nodding. Back on the battlefield the ref calls for the battle to begin as Dino makes the first move.
"Use Work Up!" Dino calls Darmanitan roars yellow energy covers its body that raises its attack and special attack Iris then calls for a command.
"Excadrill use Swords Dance!" Iris calls Excadrill roars as it sharply raises its attack. The 2-mons then look at each other as Surge speaks.
"So, they both used stat increasing moves this should be an interesting battle" Surge says with Violet, Gary, and Goodshow agreeing. Back on the battlefield Dino calls for his next command.
"Now Flamethrower!" Dino calls Darmanitan fires the stream of fire at Excadrill as Iris speaks.
"Dodge with dig!" Iris calls Excadrill quickly drills underground dodging the Flamethrower successfully as Dino speaks.
"Darmanitan listen closely and then jump when Excadrill appears!" Dino says with Darmanitan nodding it closes its eyes and begins to carefully listen on where Excadrill will come out from. A few seconds later Darmanitan jumps as Excadrill appears from under it. Excadrill heads for Darmanitan as Dino speaks.
"Now Hammer Arm!" Dino calls Darmanitan falls forward with its right fist glowing white it goes to hit the mole Pokemon as Iris speaks.
"Counter with Drill Run!" Iris calls Excadrills body becomes like a drill and collides with Darmanitans fist creating a big explosion. Both Pokémon then land back on the ground and are ready to continue as Dino calls for a command.
"Use Fire Blast!" Dino calls Darmanitan fires a big blast of fire at Excadrill as Iris speaks.
"Destroy it with Crush Claw!" Iris calls Excadrills claws get bigger turning red and easily cut through the big blast of fire shocking Dino and Darmanitan as Iris calls for her next command.
"Now Hone claws then use Crush Claw again!" Iris calls Excadrill sharpens its claws increasing its attack power. Excadrill claws become bigger turning then charges towards Darmanitan as Dino speaks.
"Knock it back with Hammer arm!" Dino calls Darmanitans right arm glows white then reels it back as it waits for Excadrill to get closer. Once Excadrill's close enough Darmanitan goes to hit the mole as Iris speaks.
"Dodge Excadrill and hit Darmanitan!" Iris calls Excadrill moves to the left dodging Darmanitans punch then slashes Darmanitans stomach causing damage. Darmanitan holds its stomach while groaning in pain as Iris calls for her next command.
"Now end it with Drill Run!" Iris calls Excadrill becomes a drill and shoots towards Darmanitan as Dino speaks.
"Counter with Flamethrower!" Dino calls Darmanitan fires the Flamethrower consuming Excadrill but since Excadrill is spinning so fast the fire doesn't hurt it. Excadrill continues to spin until it hits Darmanitan in the chest causing super effective damage and sends the mon crashing next to Dino. Dino looks at Darmanitan and sees that it's knocked out as the ref makes the call.
"Darmanitan is unable to battle the winners are Excadrill and Iris!" The ref calls Iris runs to the field and gives Excadrill a big hug with the mole returning it as the crowd claps. Back in the stands Kiawe speaks.
"To be able to counter fire type moves the way she did was simply incredible" Kiawe says as Ritchie speaks.
"I agree you can tell that Iris and Excadrill have battled many fire types before and must've come up with all sorts of ways to counter Excadrills weakness" Ritchie says as Cilan speaks.
"Iris did tell me that Excadrill was her first Pokémon and they've been together ever since she was 6 so it would explain why they've so many ways to battle fire type Pokémon" Cilan says surprising the group as Ash speaks.
"Man, I really want to battle her" Ash says with an excited look on his face, Iris then gets complements from the commentators. They're all impressed with how she battled, making Iris happy as she goes to join up with everyone else. Once Iris's back Brock looks at Cilan and speaks.
"Hey Cilan, are you battling as well?" Brock asks as Cilan speaks.
"Hmm? Oh no unfortunately I only have one Pokémon with me I'm only here to support Iris and learn more of the Kanto cuisine" Cilan responds as Mallow speaks.
"Hey me too! Do you own a restaurant as well?" Mallow asks with Cilan nodding.
"Why yes me and my brothers are the gym leaders of Striaton city in the Unova region part of our gym is a restaurant where we serve trainers challenging the gym and customers" Cilan responds making the group amazed as Iris speaks.
"Cilan's an amazing cook you guys you should try out his food sometime" Iris says with a smile with the group nodding as Mallow speaks.
"That's amazing I'd love to try your food" "Me as well" Mallow and Brock say excitedly with Cilan smiling back at them. Back on the stage Alex speaks.
"Now will Giselle and Otoshi please come to the battlefield!" Alex calls Giselle smiles she stands up and speaks.
"Finally, it's my time to shine, watch me Ashy Kins I'll show you just how strong I've become" Giselle says blowing a kiss towards Ash much to Misty's annoyance as Ash speaks.
"Good luck Giselle" Ash says with a smile making Giselle happy as she looks at Misty and gives her a smug look then runs to the battlefield before Misty could say anything to her. Once Giselle and Otoshi make it to the battlefield Giselle looks at Otoshi. He looks to be around Brock and Cilan's age with black hair, a ponytail in the back and looks to be in samurai attire. Otoshi looks at Giselle then speaks.
"You may be a girl, but I won't hold back" Otoshi says while holding out a Pokeball as Gisellle speaks.
"Hmph that's fine by me I wasn't planning on holding back either I need to show my Ashy Kins just how strong I've become" Giselle says with determination in her eyes. Meanwhile at the commentators table Gary, Surge, and Violet chuckle at the name Ashy Kins with Goodshow slightly chuckling too. In the stands Ash speaks.
"Great now Gary's going to make fun of me even more" Ash says with his head down while Misty, Pikachu, and Raichu pat his back to comfort him. Back on the battlefield the ref calls for both trainers to send out their Pokémon as Giselle and Otoshi send out their Pokémon.
"Marowak I choose you!" Both trainers say as two bipedal reptilian like Pokémon come out staring at each other then start spinning their bones. In the stands Ash speaks.
"So, Giselle's Cubone evolved into a Marowak?" Ash says as Joe speaks.
"Yes, it evolved during Giselle's battle in the Pewter gym" Joe says as Kiawe speaks.
"So that's what a Kantoian Marowak looks like" Kiawe says with the other Alolan kids looking on in interest as Misty speaks.
"Do Marowak have an Alolan form as well?" Misty asks as Kiawe speaks.
"Yes, instead of light brown skin its skull becomes grey its body is black, has green fire and it's a fire/ghost type here take a look" Kiawe says sending out his Marowak as everyone looks at it in amazement.
"It looks so cool!" Ash, Leaf, and Iris say with stars in their eyes while looking at Marowak. Pikachu, Raichu, and Sparky greet it with Marowak doing the same as Ritchie speaks.
"I wonder if other regions have Pokémon with different forms as well?" Ritchie says as Cilan speaks.
"I believe the Galar and Paldea regions have Pokémon with different forms as well. I've also read that when the Sinnoh region used to be called the Hisui region there were forms called Hisuian forms" Cilan says with everyone nodding as Ash speaks.
"Man, the more I learn about Pokémon the more excited I get wouldn't you agree buddy?!" Ash says while looking at Pikachu with the yellow mouse agreeing. They then hear the ref call for the battle to begin the group then turn their heads towards the battlefield as both trainers call for their command.
"Use Bone Rush!" Giselle and Otoshi call both Marowaks charge at each other with the 1 bone in their hands becoming two they clash and try to hit their opponent as Giselle speaks.
"Use Screech!" Giselle calls her Marowak screams at the opposing Marowak hurting its ears and greatly lowering its defense as Otoshi speaks.
"That won't stop us, Marowak use Brutal Swing!" Otoshi calls his Marowaks bone becomes a bright red it spins around and throws its bone at Giselle's Marowak. Before Giselle could tell her Marowak to dodge its hit clean in the face, Giselle's Marowak falls on its back groaning in pain as Otoshi calls for a command.
"Now use Bone Rush again!" Otoshi calls his Marowak jumps in the air and catches its bone. It's bone then becomes two Otoshi's Marowak falls towards Giselles going to hit it as Giselle smiles and speaks.
"Use Ice Beam!" Giselle calls shocking Otoshi as Giselle's Marowak fires an Ice Beam hitting Otoshi's Marowak causing super effective damage the Pokémon falls on the ground groaning in pain. Giselle's Marowak stands up it ready's its bone as Giselle speaks.
"Now use Bonemerang!" Giselle calls her Marowak throws its bone at the opposing Marowak as Otoshi speaks.
"Dodge then use Headbutt!" Otoshi calls as his Marowak dodges the bone and begins running towards Giselle's with its head lowered Giselle then speaks.
"Jump Marowak!" Giselle calls as her Marowak jumps in the air dodging Otoshi's Marowak and catching its bone it looks at Otoshi's Marowak as Giselle calls for a command.
"Now use Bone Rush!" Giselle calls her Marowak falls toward Otoshi's Marowak and goes to hit it. Otoshi doesn't have time to tell his Marowak dodge as Giselle's Marowak hits it in the head knocking it down and then starts hitting Otoshi's Marowak repeatedly until it's knocked out. The ref then makes the call.
"Otoshi's Marowak is unable to battle therefore Giselle's Marowak is the winner!" The ref calls making Giselle smile, she flips her hair back at her win and thanks Otoshi for a good battle with Otoshi doing the same. The commentators tell the two trainers they did well in their battle as they head back to their seats. Once Giselle makes it to the group, she looks at Ash and speaks.
"Did you see that Ashy Kins I won" Giselle says happily as Ash speaks.
"Yeah, you did great, your Marowak's gotten stronger" Ash says making Giselle smile and blush at the compliment as Misty speaks.
"You did alright I guess" Misty says making Giselle annoyed as she speaks.
"Hmph you won't be saying that when I beat you again in battle and win Ash's heart" Giselle responds while glaring at Misty with Misty glaring back at her making Ash feel uncomfortable as Leaf speaks.
"Geez Ash you've become quite the lady's man since you left home" Leaf says whispering to Ash as the boy speaks.
"I hope my mom doesn't learn about this" Ash says in a scared tone with Leaf nodding. Ritchie then looks at Brock.
"What's wrong Brock?" Ritchie asks as Brock speaks.
"Sigh why can't girls fight over me?" Brock says in a disappointed tone causing everyone to fall as Alex speaks.
"Now will Joe and Derek come to the battlefield!" The ref calls Joe smiles he stands up and speaks.
"Alright it's my turn" Joe says while having a determined look on his face as Ash speaks.
"Good luck Joe" Ash says while giving him a thumbs up as Giselle speaks.
"Make sure you win" Giselle says, everyone else tells Joe good luck with the boy nodding. Joe heads for the battlefield as he and his opponent go to their sides the ref speaks.
"Please send out your Pokémon!" the ref calls as both trainers bring out their Pokémon.
"Doduo Come Out!" Derek says bringing out a two-headed bird Pokémon.
"Victreebel Go!" Joe says bringing out a large plant bell shaped like Pokémon it screams and gets into a battle stance. Back in the stands Jessie looks at James who's cowering in fear and speaks.
"What's wrong James?" Jessie asks as James speaks.
"Sorry it just reminded me of my own Victreebel" James responds while still hiding. Jessie and Meowth look at each other then shrug their shoulders as they look back at the battlefield.
"Battle begin!" the ref calls as Derek makes the first move.
"Doduo use Drill Peck!" Derek calls the two headed bird Pokémon charges at Victreebel spinning their beaks like drills as Joe speaks.
"Dodge then use Sleep Powder!" Joe calls his Victreebel dodges the attack and sends out a powder above Doduo that put's it to sleep surprising Derek as he speaks.
"Wake up Doduo!" Derek yells but bird the Pokemon isn't waking up as Joe calls for his next command.
"Now use Swords Dance and end this battle with Poison Jab!" Joe calls Victreebel lets out a mighty scream as it sharply increases its attack power. Victreebel then charges at the sleeping Doduo it covers its leaf arms in poison and jabs Doduo in the stomach. The two headed bird screams in pain as it lays on the ground unconscious the ref makes the call.
"Doduo is unable to battle Victreebel and Joe are the winners!" The ref calls allowing for Joe and Victerebell celebrate their win. Back in the stands Misty speaks.
"Joe improved a lot when I battled him last time" Misty says as Giselle speaks.
"Yeah, he's been training hard ever since we left Pokémon Tech, I would say he's equal to me now when it comes to battling" Giselle says surprising everyone as Brock speaks.
"If we're not careful Joe might end up winning the whole thing hehehe" Brock says with a chuckle with everyone doing the same. Back with the disguised rockets Archer looks at Joe then speaks.
"Hmmm I'll crush him first" Archer says to himself and smiles. The commentators tell Joe and his opponent good job with both boys nodding. Once that's over Joe goes over to everyone else as they congratulate him Alex then speaks.
"We have two battles left today folks can we please have Kiawe from Akala Island and Hodge from Lavaridge Town come to the battlefield!" Alex calls as Kiawe returns Marowak to its ball he stands up as his Alola friends speak.
"Good luck Kiawe" "You got this" "Fight hard" Mallow, Lana, and Sophocles say with Kiawe nodding he looks at everyone else giving them a nod as well he goes to the battlefield as Ash speaks.
"Finally, I'll get to see how strong Kiawe is" Ash says to himself. On the battlefield Kiawe and Hodge are now standing on their sides and are glaring at each other. Both boys have serious looks on their faces as the ref speaks.
"Please send out your Pokémon!" The ref calls Hodge pulls out a Pokeball and throws it.
"Hariyama you're up!" Hodge says he throws the ball forward as a large sumo looking Pokémon with two large hands comes out of its Pokeball it stomps hard on the ground and is ready to battle. Back in the stands Ash looks at Hariyama and speaks.
"That Hariyama looks strong" Ash says as Sophocles speaks.
"I wouldn't worry about it Kiawe's got this" Sophocles says with confidence in his voice as Lana speaks.
"Yeah, at the Pokémon school Kiawe is the top student in our class when it comes to battling" Lana says as Mallow speaks.
"His mom and his late grandpa trained him how to battle when he was very young, he even gives our teacher Professor Kukui a hard time in battles though the Professor does tend to hold back" Mallow says as Brock speaks.
"And don't forget he gave me a tough battle when he was only 8 years old, I'm interested to see how much he's improved" Brock says with Ash and the others nodding they look forward at the battlefield. Kiawe takes out a Pokeball he puts the ball on his head and speaks.
"It's time my friend" Kiawe says as he throws the Pokeball in the air.
"Turtonator Come Out!" Kiawe calls as a big bipedal Turtle with spikes on its back lands on the battlefield shaking it. The turtle lets out a small roar and shoots out flames from what looks to be its nose. Back in the stands Ash looks at the mon and speaks.
"So that's Turtonator" Ash says after he said that one of his Pokeball's wriggle as Charmeleon comes out and sits on Ash's lap shocking everyone. Ash looks at the fire lizard and speaks.
"Does Turtonator interest you Charmeleon?" Ash asks with Charmeleon nodding confirming what Ash said making Ash smile.
"Yeah, Turtonator interests me too let's see how strong it is" Ash says Charmeleon nods as they look at the battlefield. The ref calls for the battle to begin as Kiawe makes the first move.
"Turtonator use Flamethrower!" Kiawe calls his Turtonator fires a big stream of fire that's bigger than Ash's Charmeleon's and Leaf's Rapidash's Fire Blast. The move heads for Hariyama as Hodge calls for a command.
"Push forward with Arm Thrust!" Hodge calls his Hariyama points its hands forward and begins pushing the Flamethrower back with its hands as it begins walking toward Turtonator. Back in the stands Iris speaks.
"How's Hariyama doing that?" Iris asks with everyone except Brock, Ritchie, and Cilan wondering as Cilan speaks.
"It's an ability called Thick Fat" Cilan answers as Ash speaks.
"Thick Fat?" Ash asks as Brock speaks.
"It's an ability that halves the damage taken by fire or ice type moves" Brock answers with the group nodding as Ritchie speaks.
"Yeah, I battled a Hariyama before coming here and it gave trouble for my Charmeleon Zippo" Ritchie says surprising Ash and his Charmeleon as Ash speaks.
"You have a Charmeleon too?" Ash asks with Charmeleon looking at Ritchie as the boy speaks.
"Yep, I don't have it with me right now its back at Prof. Birch's lab training hard with my other Pokémon it was the first Pokémon I caught when I arrived in Kanto it's proven to be a really strong Pokémon and beat the Celedon gym all by itself. I would say it's probably my second strongest Pokémon with Sparky being my strongest" Ritchie responds as he pats Sparky on the head. Ash, Pikachu, and Charmeleon look at Ritchie and Sparky in amazement as they get excited looking forward to one day battling him. They then turn back to watch Kiawe's battle as Hariyama is now in front of Turtonator.
"Now Brick Break!" Hodge calls Hariyamas raises its right hand and begins swinging it down towards Turtonator as Kiawe speaks.
"Use Shell trap!" Kiawe calls Turtonator quickly turns around with its back facing towards Hariyama. As the large sumo Pokémon slams its hand down on Turtonator's back this activates the spikes on Turtonator's back causing an explosion and it sends Hariyama flying back towards Hodge heavily injured. Hodge looks at the mon and yells.
"Hariyama!" Hodge yells in worry as the sumo Pokémon struggles to get up Kiawe calls for a command.
"Now Dragon Pulse!" Kiawe calls Turtonator roars and shoots out a large dragon shaped blast at Hariyama consuming the Pokémon and creating an explosion. It destroys part of the battlefield and causes the room to shake. When the smoke clears, everyone sees Hariyama knocked out Hodge has a surprised look on his face as the ref makes the call.
"Hariyama is unable to battle Turtonator and Kiawe are the winners!" The ref calls the crowd cheers and claps as Kiawe smiles. He goes to pet Turtonator on the head and thanks Hodge for a good battle with Hodge doing the same. The 2 boys then look at the commentators as Surge speaks.
"That was an amazing display of Power" Surge says as Violet speaks.
"Yes, most impressive" Violet says as Gary speaks.
"Your, Turtonator is really strong I wouldn't mind having it battle my Blastoise one day" Gary says with a smirk as Goodshow speaks.
"Indeed, you did well young man" Goodshow says with a smile as Kiawe nods he returns Turtonator and goes back to everyone else. When he makes it, the group congratulate Kiawe on his win as Brock speaks.
"Your Turtonator really has grown stronger" Brock says having a smile on his face as Kiawe speaks.
"Thank you, Brock," Kiawe responds also smiling as Iris speaks.
"Your Turtonator is really cool I want to catch one of my own someday" Iris says with Leaf nodding agreeing with her. Ash and Charmeleon are still in shock at what they witnessed Turtonator defeated its opponent in two moves this does scare the two but also makes them excited to battle Kiawe and Turtonator as Ash speaks.
"You're really strong Kiawe I can't wait to battle you" Ash says with a determined look with Charmeleon having the same look as well. Kiawe looks at them and sees fire in their eyes. Kiawe's interested in Ash's Charmeleon as he speaks.
"Thanks Ash I want to battle you and your Charmeleon as well. Whenever we do battle, I hope you give me and Turtonator a good fight" Kiawe responds with a determined look as Ash speaks.
"Of course, we won't hold back" "Char" Ash and Charmeleon say while raising their fist as Kiawe smiles. Ash then returns Charmeleon back to its Pokeball back on the stage Alex speaks.
"We've finally reached it everyone the last battle of the day will Ritchie of Littleroot Town and Sanpei please come down to the battlefield" Alex calls and as soon as he said that a kid in what looks to be ninja attire shows up on the battlefield shocking the ref and everyone else. The trainer then glares at Ritchie waiting for him as Ritchie returns the glare with a smile. Ritchie stands up and speaks.
"Alright it's my turn let's do this Sparky" Ritchie says with Sparky sparking its cheeks in excitement as Ritchie runs to the battlefield and goes to his side. Back in the stands Ash speaks.
"Finally, we'll see Ritchie battle let's pay close attention Pikachu and you to Raichu" Ash says with Pikachu, and Raichu nodding. Back on the battlefield the ref speaks.
"This will be the final match for the day please send out your Pokémon!" the ref says as Sanpei smiles and speaks.
"Frogadier appear!" Sanpei says this confuses everyone as Sanpei didn't throw a Pokeball they then see smoke and what appears from the smoke is a blue bipedal frog with what looks to be a white scarf around its neck. It does a ninja pose making the crowd roar in excitement as Misty speaks.
"Is that a water type?!" Misty and Lana ask with hearts in their eyes as Ash and Leaf (who are also excited) scan the Pokémon with their Pokedex.
"Frogadier, the Bubble Frog Pokémon a water type, and the evolved form of Froakie. Frogadier's speed is unmatched. It can climb a tower over 2,000 feet tall in one minute." The Pokedex says making the group excited as Ash speaks.
"I hope I get my own Frogadier one day" Ash says with a smile unbeknownst to Ash in the far Kalos region in Lumiose City in a research facility there's a Pokémon egg that moves slightly at Ash's words. Back to the battle Ritchie is impressed and sends in Sparky the yellow mouse jumps on the battlefield and begins to spark its cheeks ready to battle as the ref speaks.
"Let the battle begin!" The ref calls Ritchie makes the first move.
"Sparky use Thunderbolt!" Ritchie calls Sparky fires the electric bolt that's not only faster but looks even bigger than Ash's Pikachu's. The electric bolt goes to hit Frogadier as Sanpei speaks.
"Frogadier dodge then use Aerial Ace!" Sanpei calls Frogadier dodges at last second its body begins to change slightly as it quickly charges at Sparky and begins to punch/kick the yellow mouse sending it a few feet away. Sparky groans in pain but it's not done yet it looks at Frogadier as Ritchie speaks.
"So, it has Protein!" Ritchie says with Sanpei smiling confirming what Ritchie said. Back in the stands Misty looks at Brock and speaks.
"What's Protein Brock?" Misty asks as Brock speaks.
"It's an ability that changes the Pokémon's type to the move it used" Brock responds as Misty speaks.
"So, since Frogadier used Aerial Ace, it became a flying type?" Misty asks with Brock confirming as Ash thinks.
"How will you deal with this Ritchie?" Ash says to himself he continues to look at the battle as Ritchie speaks.
"Well, this is going to be a fun battle are you all warmed up Sparky?!" Ritchie asks as Sparky stands up it looks at Ritchie and smiles giving him a thumbs up as Sanpei speaks.
"I see your Pikachu has a lot of endurance as well like that the Pikachu in the first match" Sanpei says as Ritchie nods.
"Well, it doesn't matter to me since we're going to win Frogadier use Quick Attack!" Sanpei calls his Frogadier changes into a normal type and quickly charges forward at Sparky as Ritchie speaks.
"Counter with your Quick Attack!" Ritchie calls Sparky shoots forward and collides with Frogadier. The 2-mons begin pushing each other back and forth as Sanpei speaks.
"Use Cut!" Sanpei calls Frogadier has a white blade appear in its right hand it goes to hit Sparky as Ritchie speaks.
"Dodge with Double team!" Ritchie calls Sparky dodges the attack by creating multiple after images of itself. The clones surround Frogadier as Sanpei speaks.
"Knock them all away with Surf!" Sanpei calls his Frogadier summons a large torrent of water hitting all the clones but didn't hit the real one. Sanpei and Frogadier look around the battlefield but can't find Sparky anywhere. Back in the stands Ash sees a hole in the ground and knows what Ritchie did as Ritchie calls for a command.
"Sparky use Thunder Punch!" Ritchie calls Sparky appears from under Frogadier it covers its left fist in electricity and uppercuts Frogadier sending the frog in high in the air. Frogadier then safely land on the battlefield a few feet away, but it then feels electricity flowing in its body as Sanpei speaks.
"Darn Frogadier's been paralyzed" Sanpei says while gritting his teeth as Ritchie smiles. In the commentators' area Gary speaks.
"After he used Double Team, his Pikachu immediately dug the hole while the clones distracted Frogadier. Then when Frogadier's guard was down when trying to look for Sparky it surprised it by landing a Thunder Punch and paralyzing it. I have to say this kid is good" Gary says with a smile the other commentator's nod as they thought the same thing. Back on the battlefield Ritchie calls for a command.
"Now Thunderbolt!" Ritchie calls Sparky fires the bolt of lightning it heads straight for the paralyzed frog as Sanpei speaks.
"Use Double Team then Smoke Screen!" Sanpei calls Frogadier turns into a normal type and summons multiple copies dodging the Thunderbolt. The real Frogadier along with its clones blow out a black smoke from their mouths that covers the entire battlefield and makes Sparky cough.
"Pika" Sparky says with a cough as Ritchie speaks.
"It's okay Sparky use your ears and listen to Frogadier's footsteps once you find it use Thunderbolt!" Ritchie says Sparky nods as it perks up its ears and begins to concentrate listening for any footsteps.
10 seconds go by, and Sparky still hasn't found Frogadier yet making both it and Ritchie a little frustrated as Ritchie speaks.
"Where is it?" Ritchie says to himself as Sanpei speaks.
"Now Hydro Pump!" Sanpei calls as Sparky is hit point blank range in the face with a Hydro Pump greatly injuring the yellow mouse and clearing the smokescreen as Ritchie speaks.
"You okay Sparky?!" Ritchie asks in worry Sparky stands up it pants heavily as Sanpei speaks.
"I come from a family of ninjas in the Kalos region I've trained Frogadier hard to not make a sound while in a Smokescreen it was in front of Sparky the entire time. We just waited for you to let your guard down to attack" Sanpei says with a smile as Ritchie speaks.
"I see that was a really good plan you really raised your Frogadier well but now it's time for us to counterattack" Ritchie says with a confident look confusing Sanpei as Ritchie calls for his next commands.
"Sparky use Double Team then Agility!" Ritchie calls Sparky nods it summons multiple clones of itself they all begin to run around Frogadier making the frog look at them as Sanpei speaks.
"Heh we won't fall for that again Frogadier use Smokescreen!" Sanpei calls Frogadier blows out a cloud of black smoke which makes Ritchie smile as he speaks.
"I was hoping you'd do that Sparky use Quick Attack!" Ritchie calls inside the smoke Sparky along with its clones begin running around confusing the frog as Sanpei speaks.
"Frogadier try to find the real one then use Water Pulse" Sanpei calls Frogadier nods it closes its eyes and begins to concentrate on where the real sparky is but its having trouble as the Pokémon is moving so fast that it's having a hard time differentiating between the real and fake footsteps. It then hears something that sounds like the real one, it then turns into a water type summons a ball of water from its hand and fires it in that direction but doesn't feel that the attack connected as Ritchie speaks.
"Now Thunderbolt!" Ritchie calls as a bolt of electricity hits Frogadier from behind shocking the blue frog Pokémon causing super effective damage and makes the smoke clear. Everyone then sees Frogadier fall on one knee the frog it turns back and looks at Sparky who's smiling as Sanpei speaks.
"But how?" Sanpei asks with a shocked expression as Ritchie speaks.
"You see the real Sparky was behind Frogadier the whole time I took a page from your idea and put my own spin on it by having the clones run around confusing Frogadier while the real Sparky snuck behind it so it could land a Thunderbolt" Ritchie answers with a smile surprising Sanpei and everyone else. Sanpei smiles and speaks.
"Heh I must say you're really smart but the battle's not over, Frogadier use Aerial Ace!" "Sparky counter with Iron Tail and Thunder Punch!" Both trainers call as Frogadier (turning into a flying type) and Pikachu shoot forward and clash. The two mons begin punching and kicking each other Sparky has the upper hand as it uses the Iron Tail to block some of Frogadier's attacks then hits the frog with Thunder Punch. This goes on for a few more moments until both Pokémon hit each other hard in the face sending them back towards their trainers laying sides landing on their on their backs panting heavily as both boys speak.
"Come on Sparky we're almost there!" "Don't give up now Frogadier!" Both trainers encourage their Pokémon as they struggle to get to their feet the crowd roars in excitement while Alex speaks.
"Even though they're tired neither Pokémon is willing the go down what determination!" Alex says as the crowd begins to cheer for the Pokémon, they want to win some cheering for Frogadier while others cheer for Sparky the rocket trio cheers as well much to the annoyance of Archer and the other disguised rockets. Back on the battlefield both Pokémon stand up and are panting heavily as Sanpei speaks.
"Let's end this battle Frogadier use Quick Attack!" Sanpei calls Frogadier groans a little bit because of the paralysis, but it gives a roar as it turns into a normal type and starts to run towards Sparky as fast as it can. As Frogadier's getting closer Ritchie calls for a command.
"Sparky use Extreme Speed!" Ritchie calls shocking everyone before anybody can say anything Sparky lets out a "Pika!" it takes one step forward before vanishing in thin air. We then see Sparky ram its head into Frogadier's chest the frog coughs as it's then sent flying it flies by Sanpei and continues to fly until it crashes into a wall behind Sanpei. Frogadier then falls on the ground laying on its stomach it shows no signs of standing back up as the ref makes the call.
"Frogadier is unable to battle Sparky and Ritchie are the winners!" The ref calls everyone is in shock it stays that way for a few moments as what just happened fully registers into everyone's brains, they then let out a big cheer and clap very loudly. Ritchie smiles, he runs to battlefield picks up Sparky and speaks.
"We did it Sparky we won!" Ritchie says Sparky pants one more time until it looks at its trainer and smiles. Back in the stands the group cheer too.
"You two were amazing!" "What a passionate battle!" the group cheer except for Ash, Pikachu, and Raichu who are in shock at what they witnessed as Ash speaks.
"Did you see that Pikachu, Raichu it looks like when it's time for us to battle Ritchie we have to be ready" "Pika" "Rai" Ash says with fire in his eyes while Pikachu begins to spark its cheeks looking forward to facing Sparky. Raichu would usually be scared but like Pikachu it also sparks its cheeks in excitement. They then join the rest of their friends and begin to clap and cheer for Ritchie and Sparky. Back on the battlefield Sanpei has made it over to Frogadier he looks at the mon and speaks.
"Thanks, Frogadier you battled hard get a good rest" Sanpei says as he returns Frogadier to its Pokeball he then sees Ritchie with Sparky on his shoulder walking over to him. When Ritchie's close enough he looks at Sanpei and speaks.
"Hey Sanpei thank you for the battle today your Frogadier was really strong we almost lost" Ritchie says with a smile and holds out his hand. Sanpei looks at him smiles and speaks.
"Thank you it looks like I still need to train more let's battle again one day" Sanpei says as he shakes Ritchie's hand with Ritchie smiling and nodding wanting to battle him again as well as the commentators' speak.
"Splendid battle you two!" Violet says while clapping her hands as Surge speaks.
"It was an amazing battle to end on today my heart was racing the entire time" Surge says as Gary speaks.
"Hmph you two did really good I was invested throughout the whole battle" Gary says with a smile as Goodshow speaks.
"Indeed, you two both displayed many strategies to try and get the upper hand on each other truly amazing and I'm looking forward to see you battle more Ritchie" Goodshow says as Ritchie and Sanpei bow and go back to their seats once Ritchie makes it back to the group, they all congratulate him on a good battle as Alex speaks.
"That wraps up the battles for today thank you all for giving us good battles now the tournament is going to heat up even more here take a look at the screen on who you'll battle tomorrow!" Alex says as the screen begins to randomize the images after a few seconds it stops, and everyone looks at who their next opponents will be.
Ash will be going first again and battle a woman named Viola she's the Satalune city gym leader in the Kalos region. He saw her battle earlier and watched her defeat her opponent with a Surskit. After Ash's match Brock is next, he'll be going up against a man named Roark who's also a Rock type gym leader in the Sinnoh region. Lana will battle a trainer name Marnia who used a strong Psyduck, Sophocles will battle Larry (Petral), Leaf will battle Bob (Butch), Kiawe will battle Cassandra (Cassidy), Iris will battle a trainer named Katie, Ritchie will battle Falkner the Violet city gym leader in Johto, Joe will battle Justin (Archer) and the last battle of round 2 will be Misty vs Giselle which surprises both girls. Giselle looks at Misty smirks and speaks.
"Hmph looks like tomorrow will decide it all I'll defeat you and make Ashy Kins my boyfriend!" Giselle declares while pointing at the blushing Misty.
"I told you I don't like Ash that way and I'll show you that I'm the superior trainer!" Misty says in anger while glaring at Giselle as Giselle glares back. Ash then speaks.
"Man, girls sure are scary" Ash says with the boys agreeing with him while the girls look at them.
20 minutes later the group are following Giselle. They were going to sleep in their rooms, but Giselle has a surprise for them. They keep walking until they reach a big door Giselle looks at them and speaks.
"We're here!" Giselle says happily as everyone sees a big door in front of them as Misty speaks.
"You brought us here to see a door?" Misty asks in a mocking tone making Giselle glare at her as she speaks.
"Hmph of course you would say that it's what's behind the door that matters" Giselle responds as Ash speaks.
"What's behind it?" Ash asks as Giselle smiles.
"I'm glad you asked Ashy kins take a look" Giselle says as she opens the door everyone's eyes grow wide in amazement. They see a big room that has games, a lounging area, a pool, a training battlefield, a Pokémon transfer station, a play area for the groups Pokémon, a Nurse Joy and some more rooms that most likely contain beds. The room is also big enough to where even Onix and Gyarados can freely roam around Leaf then speaks.
"What is this place, Giselle?" Leaf asks as Giselle speaks.
"Well, you probably don't know this, but my father is the captain of the SS. Anne when I told him I was competing in the tournament he got so excited that he made this room for me and whatever guest I would bring so that we can stay here for the next 7 days while the tournament is active" Giselle says with a smile making the group happy as Ash speaks.
"Whoa! thank you Giselle" Ash says with a smile making Giselle blush as she speaks.
"Oh, I would do anything for you Ashy Kins I wouldn't want you sleep in some random room here you can be comfortable, and it'll allow me to get to know you more" Giselle says with hearts in her eyes as the group now know the reason why Giselle had this room made.
The group enters the room and are amazed at everything. Brock, Mallow, and Cilan are loving the kitchen, Leaf, Iris, and Sophocles love the game room and play a few games with each other. Lana and Misty go hang out by the pool letting Wimpod and Popplio swim, Joe goes to the lodging area to relax while Ash, Kiawe, and Ritchie are impressed with the training area they look around as Ash speaks.
"Whoa! There are even places where we can solo train as well" Ash says as Kiawe speaks.
"That's good so we won't know each other's strategies for when we battle each other" Kiawe says with Ash and Ritchie nodding. Meanwhile in the Kitchen Mallow speaks.
"Look at this kitchen it's amazing, the stove, the cabinets, the silver wear Ahhhh! I can't wait to cook in here" Mallow says happily with Brock and Cilan nodding their heads all three then put on their aprons and begin cooking. Meanwhile, in the game room Leaf speaks.
"This game room is amazing, it even has Magikarp Jump" Leaf says while playing the game as Iris speaks.
"I love this dancing game, it feels like I'm getting a good workout in," Iris says while dancing as Sophocles speaks.
"This is blowing my mind the number of programs I can run is endless" Sophocles says while running around excitedly. Next, we go to the pool with Misty and Lana they look at their Pokémon swimming as Misty speaks.
"Is the water good Wimpod, Popplio?" Misty asks as the two Pokémon nod happily at her making Misty and Lana smile. When then go over to Joe who's laying on the couch as he speaks.
"Ah it's so nice to finally relax after running around all day" Joe says as he begins to sink in the couch Giselle speaks.
"Make sure not to relax too much Joe otherwise you won't be able to get out" Giselle says but Joe doesn't care as he begins to relax and sinks deeper into the couch. Giselle shrugs her shoulders and walks away. We now go over to Ash as he looks at Pikachu and Raichu.
"Man, this place is awesome don't you agree Pikachu, Raichu?" Ash asks the two mouse Pokémon they nod in agreement as they and Sparky go to the Pokémon play area and begin to play with all the toys giving Ash an idea.
"Hey guys we shouldn't be the only ones to have fun let's bring out our Pokémon!" Ash suggests with everyone nodding as they all bring out their Pokémon. Ash sends out Charmeleon, Krabby, Alolan Vulpix, and Bulbasaur. Misty sends out Vaporeon, Starmie, and Seel. Brock Brings out Onix, Graveler, Sandshrew, and his Kanto Vulpix. Giselle brings out her Marowak, Golem, Jolteon, and Vileplume. Joe brings out Victreebel and Growlithe. Lana brings out Dewpider and Marenie. Sophocles brings out hisTogedemaru and Vikavolt and Mallow brings out her Bounsweet. Cilan brings out his Pansage, Iris brings out her Excadrill, Druddigon, Deino, and Dragonair. Kiawe brings out his Turtonator, Alolan Marowak, Fletchinder, Salazzele, Magmar, and a shiny Arcanine. Leaf brings out her Venusaur, shiny Rapidash, Dewgong, Nidoqueen, Jigglypuff (this is the same Jigglypuff in the anime), and Fearow. Ritchie only has Sparky with him he as wants to keep his other Pokémon a secret.
Throughout the night the group play games watch a romance movie (Giselle's choice to get close to Ash but fails because of Misty) the Pokémon get along with each other through a few did try to battle each other mainly Ash's, Kiawe's and Iris's Pokémon but Ash's Bulbasaur, Pikachu, Leaf's Venasaur and Kiawe's Turtonator were able to stop them and calm them down. Misty and Vaporeon were scared of Lana's Dewpider and Sophocles Vikavolt causing Iris to make fun of her while Iris was scared of Ash's Alolan Vulpix allowing Misty to make fun of her.
Brock, Mallow, and Cilan made an amazing dinner for everyone making the group happy. Leaf, Ash, Iris, and Kiawe thought it would be a good idea to see who could eat their food the fastest but all it did was give the four of them a stomachache allowing the other kids and Pokémon to laugh at them. Leaf and Ash were excited to see all the new Pokémon they've never seen before they loved Kiawe's shiny Arcanine petting the big dog. They liked Iris's Dragonair as well but Iris told them it has anger issues so it would be best not to mess with it making the two of them sad. Iris's Dragonair does end up getting along well with Ash's Charmeleon as the two have a small training match. Giselle absolutely loves Ash's Alolan Vulpix and was snuggling it throughout the night but Vulpix didn't like Giselle so it would always end up freezing her and go to play with the other Pokémon or be with Ash and Misty. As everyone continued to play Mallow speaks.
"Man, I wish Lillie was here" Mallow says in a sad tone as Ash speaks.
"Who's Lillie?" Ash asks while petting Vulpix as Kiawe speaks.
"She's our friend from the Pokémon school she has a great knowledge of Pokémon and loves them" Kiawe says Misty speaks.
"Then why didn't she come?" Misty asks curiously.
"Well even though she loves Pokémon she's not a big fan of battles and for some reason is unable to touch Pokémon" Mallow responds shocking everyone as Sophocles speaks.
"She doesn't remember why she can't touch Pokémon as something happened to her when she was very young as for battles, they just don't interest her" Sophocles says as Lana speaks.
"But overall, she's a really great person" Lana says with a smile making everyone else smile too as Ash speaks.
"Cool I hope I get to meet her one day" Ash says with the other kids nodding as they all go back to play. They play until it's time to go to sleep the Pokémon (other than Pikachu, Raichu, Sparky, Vaporeon, Wimpod, and Popplio) sleep in the play area while the trainers go to their rooms to sleep. The girls sleep in one room while the boys sleep in the room next to them all the beds are very comfortable. Giselle tries to sneak into the boy's room to get in the same bed as Ash, but Raichu and Alolan Vulpix notice Vulpix freezes her while Raichu uses Psychic to put Giselle back in her bed making Giselle pout in anger making the other girls who were still awake give a small chuckle.
It's now the next day and everyone is ready for round 2. Earlier in the day Ash (along with Leaf) called Prof. Oak to switch out their Pokémon. Ash's now on the battlefield staring at his opponent Viola who is holding a camera. The ref makes himself known and speaks.
"This will be a 2v2 Pokémon battle please send out your first Pokémon!" The ref says as Viola pulls out a Pokeball and speaks.
"Surskit I let's go!" Viola says she throws the ball forward bringing out a small spider like Pokémon. Ash smiles, he looks at Raichu and speaks.
"Go Raichu!" Ash says with Raichu nodding. She floats on the battlefield and sparks her cheeks ready to battle as the ref speaks.
"Both trainers have sent out their first Pokémon let the first round of the second match begin!" The ref calls both trainers call out their moves as we end the chapter.
