Chapter 2: Pat And The Map
(Bandit's Narration) We headed in the opposite direction from Pat.
(Bandit) "So what do you dudes want to do?"
(Rad) "I don't know, but I wouldn't recommend heading back to the holiday house."
(Bandit) "Yeah. Guess we ought to find something to do at the beach."
(Bandit's Narration) Suddenly, a piece of paper flew right into Stripe's face.
(Stripe) "Ugh! Why can't people throw their garbage away in the bin instead of on the ground?!"
(Bandit) "Ha!"
(Bandit's Narration) Rad took the piece of paper off of Stripe's face and read it.
(Rad) "Um...this isn't just some garbage."
(Bandit) "What are you on about?"
(Bandit's Narration) I grabbed the piece of paper from Rad. He was right. It wasn't just some garbage. Stripe and Rad huddled around me to see.
(Bandit) "It's some sort of map."
(Stripe) "Hmm. 'The Treasure Of St Bernard'. Who's St Bernard?"
(Rad) "I couldn't tell you."
(Bandit) "Yo! There's a beach on this map that looks exactly like the one we're at! The treasure is not too far from here! We can go hunting for a treasure!"
(Stripe) "That sounds awesome!"
(Rad) "Um, no. We can't do that."
(Bandit) "Why not?"
(Rad) "Because that map doesn't belong to us. Look."
(Bandit's Narration) At the bottom of the map was a signature which read, "Property of Pat".
(Bandit) "So? If he wanted this so much, he wouldn't have dropped it. Now let's go find that treasure!"
(Bandit's Narration) Rad quickly swiped the map from my hands.
(Bandit) "Hey! Give that back!"
(Rad) "No! This doesn't belong to you. We need to give this back to that Pat guy."
(Stripe) "Rad is right. It's not right to go after the treasure when that map doesn't belong to us."
(Bandit) "You too little bro?!"
(Bandit's Narration) I was upset. But Rad and Stripe were right. It wasn't fair to go after that treasure. As much as it pained me in the moment, I conceded defeat.
(Bandit) "*sigh* Fine. If it's SO important we return the map to Pat, then let's go return the map."
(Bandit's Narration) We looked around for Pat. Despite the few dogs at the beach that day Pat was nowhere to be found.
(Stripe) "Where did he go?"
(Bandit) "I don't know. He was here not even two minutes ago."
(Rad) "He can't be that hard to find."
(Bluey) "He's going to be hard to find."
(Muffin) "Quiet Bluey! I'm twying to listen!"
(Rad) "We aren't giving up until we find Pat!"
(Bandit) "*grumbles* We could be searching for an awesome treasure."
(Bandit's Narration) Rad punched me in the arm. It really stung.
(Bandit) "OW!"
(Rad) "Let's go find Pat, and return his treasure map!"
(Bandit's Narration) The 3 of us raced down the beach in search of Pat.
...
DING DONG!!!
(Bingo) "What was that?"
(Bandit) "Someone's at the door. Who could be visiting at this hour?"
DING DONG!!!
(Stripe) "Guess we better go find out."
Stripe, Bandit, and Rad left the room.
(Bluey) "AW!"
...
Bandit opened the front door to see Pat standing outside.
(Bandit) "Pat? What are you doing here at this hour?"
(Pat) "Hey mate! I was wondering if I could get a few eggs and some sugar. Janelle and the kids are out visiting Janelle's dad, and I want to make a cake for when they come back. It's Janelle's birthday tomorrow. If pop by the shops, but they're closed."
(Bandit) "Of course. I'll go get that for you. Come in!"
Pat came inside, and shut the door behind him. Bandit headed for the kitchen.
(Pat) "Hey Stripe! Hey Rad!"
(Rad) "Pat! Long time no see!"
(Pat) "Congrats on the wedding by the way!"
(Rad) "Thanks mate. I'm glad it all went well. The whole thing was almost a complete disaster."
(Stripe) "You're the reason the whole thing almost fell apart."
Rad punched Stripe in the shoulder.
(Stripe) "OW!"
(Pat) "So...what brings you 2 here?"
(Stripe) "Chilli, Trixie, and Frisky are out having a girls night so we brought the kids together for a sleepover."
(Pat) "Ah. I didn't wake the kids, did I?"
(Rad) "Not exactly."
(Bluey) "Lucky's dad!"
Bluey, Bingo, and Muffin ran down the stairs, and hugged Pat.
(Pat) "Hey kids! What are you doing up this late?"
(Stripe) "We haven't gotten them to sleep. Well, we at least got Socks to sleep."
(Rad) "Do you have any idea how hard it is to get kids to go to bed?"
(Pat) "I have a few ideas..."
The girls let go of Pat.
(Bingo) "Lucky's dad! Did you really have a treasure map back in the 80s?"
(Pat) "Huh?"
Bandit came back from the kitchen carrying a bag with some sugar and a few eggs.
(Bandit) "Girls?!? You're supposed to be upstairs!"
(Stripe) "Oh why bother. It's not like they were asleep anyway."
(Bingo) "So did you have a treasure map?"
(Pat) "Where's this coming from?"
(Muffin) "Bluey's dad was telling us a stowy."
(Bandit) "I was telling them about the treasure of St Bernard for a bedtime story."
(Pat) "Ooh! I love that story! Where are you at?"
(Bandit) "We just got to the part where me, Stripe, and Rad went out looking for you after we found your treasure map."
(Pat) "I remember that part. Care if I share my side of the story?"
(Bandit) "The floor is all yours."
(Pat) "Okay kids! So while your dads were out searching for me, I headed back home.
