Alma sat on her bed as her daughters paced around her room as they tried to figure out what was going to happen with Miguel and his companion.
"What are we going to do we can't just throw him out". Pepa called
"Pepa". Juileta scolded
"You're right Mi Amor we can't just leave him out there Especially with that leg of his and the poor Perro". Alma thought
Meanwhile Mirabel had helped him up off the chair and off to the couch to rest his leg, Isabela entered sighing and making a big dramatic scene out of it along with Bruno following behind her.
"Ah I couldn't find any lavender". She sighed
"Ay Mi hermana I hope you had any luck didn't you find any while you were out there?" She asked
"No, thanks for that I could've got in trouble thanks to you putting the idea in my head". Mirabel replies
"Hey I didn't expect you to go out there". Isabela rolled her eyes
"Hello have you met me?!" Mirabel pointed to herself
Miguel on the other hand was stuck in the middle of it and unsure what to do he'd seen his cousin Rosa and sister fight like this but not in the way that this was happening right now so he was just left speechless.
"Mijas let's not do this you both know better than this". Bruno smiled
"Si Tio ". The girls answered
Isabela then turned her head to the boy sitting right beside Mirabel with his leg propped up on an ornament To rest.
"Hola Señor I haven't seen you around here before?" She coaxed
"She's right Señor we haven't seen you around are you new in town". Bruno smiled
"No Señor I was just passing through I accidentally took a detour and I ended up here I was headed home". Miguel smiled
Just then before anyone could say anything more Juileta, Pepa and Alma came in with smiles but yet some serious tones were still shown.
"Okay we need a family meeting now". Pepa announced
So with that the Madrigals stepped into La Sala including Dolores who just got back from her date with Mariano.
"Are you sure you'll be okay here it'll only be just a couple of minutes ". Mirabel asked
"Estas bien I'll be fine". Miguel reassures
"Okay only if you're sure". She sighed
All the Madrigals then went into the room for a chat and family meeting and shut the door leaving Miguel alone outside still marvelling over their Casa, to be honest Mirabel was a little worried for him if this meeting didn't go well.
"Can someone please explain what is happening and who he is?" Félix asked
Camilo nodded for Mirabel to explain.
"Okay so don't freak out but…" she stopped
They all sighed knowing this was not going to end well Bruno Especially he may see the future but when Mirabel had that look it usually meant she did something wrong.
"Camilo, Antonio and I were exploring just to see for a bit what things were like outside the encanto you could say we were sightseeing."
"Wait, Wait you went outside the encanto!!" Isabela screamed
"Do you know how dangerous that is Mirabel!" Luisa joined
"And you took Antonio no less Mija you're very lucky ". Augustin starts
"That's what I said". Juileta sighed
Bruno couldn't stand it anymore everyone talking over everyone leaving poor Mirabel agitated and annoyed So he stomped his foot to grab his attention and luckily it worked like a charm.
"Enough let her finish". Bruno stopped
Mirabel smiled grateful for what he did.
Bruno nodded for her to continue and she smiled.
"As I was saying we were just about to head back when We heard screams and growls, It turns out it was an outsider in trouble so we decided to help. Antonio guided the pumas away from him and the Perro that came with him we was injured when we brought him back his leg was grazed pretty bad". She explains
"He would have been eaten if we weren't there to save him". Antonio added
"How did he get here?" Dolores asked
Apparently he took a wrong turn while taking a detour and ended up here while trying to find a way home he must've gotten lost". Camilo said
"He's not from here?" Augustin coaxed
"No apparently he is from someplace in Mexico ". Alma answers
"That's why his accent sounds a bit off". Augustin adds
"Wait Papá you're from Mexico we can't just leave him like this". Luisa said
"That may be true Mija but I haven't been home in ages, Besides I don't think we can send him back I mean he has no way to get home". He adds
"What about the protection of the encanto?" Alma asked
"Abuela I'm sure that's the least of our worries right now he just needs help and I'm sure he won't reveal anything if we ask him not to". Mirabel replies
"I know Mija but-" she stopped
"I know you're worried but we have to help him, I know you think that this is dangerous ". Mirabel calmed her down
"It is!!" Isabela yelled
"What are we supposed to do let him go back there". Dolores started
"Look he's lost the least we can help him get back home". Mirabel sighed
"Besides it's time we see some of the real world and think how scared he must be look through his eyes for just a minute ". She adds
"Mirabel is right". Bruno smiled
"I think we should let him stay at least until his leg heals and we can find a way to help him get home have we go that?" Bruno added
"But isn't his leg already better thanks to Mamá and her food?" Luisa asked
"It may have stopped the bleeding but panthers have a pretty strong grip so when when they knocked into the tree branches it cause his leg to twist, lucky thanks to Tia's healing it's back in place but it is still hard to walk on". Antonio explains
They all nodded in understanding.
"Okay all those in letting him stay here raise your hand now". Alma declared
They all raised their hands in agreement .
"I guess it is it settled he can stay on the account of his leg healing and then we can find a way to get him home". Alma nodded
They all left the room and went to go and tell him when they reached him he had his leg propped up on a pillow sighing while looking at a photo of Socorro knowing he upset her and broke his promise.
"We have come to a decision Miguel you can stay on the account that your leg heals and then once that's done we will help find a way home for you deal?" Alma asked
Miguel nodded and smiled.
"Thank you so much Señora, I promise we won't cause trouble right Dante?" He asked the dog
Arf* he barked in agreement
"You can thank my granddaughter she convinced me, I must say she puts up quite a fight". Alma smiles at Mirabel
Miguel smiled at Mirabel in thanks.
"Alright Mi Famila I think that's enough one day let our guest sleep He's had a long journey ". Juileta clapped
"Mija can you get some fresh sheets for him please and help him?" Juileta added
"Of course Mamá ". She smiled
"You're in good hands Miguel if you need anything else please let us know ". She smiled
"Gracias Señora ". He thanked
The family gave him smiles as they went up to bed to settle in for the night that left Mirabel and Miguel alone.
Casita then shifted some linen sheets for him to sleep on . Miguel was shook the house could move just like that Mirabel smiled at him and his reaction she tried not to chuckle so much.
"That's amazing ". He gasped
" I think you've seen enough crazy for today, you must be exhausted ". She said
"Yeah". Miguel smiled
She put down the sheets and helped him up off the couch Miguel smiled in thanks, he winced as he tried to stand on it. She gently sat him on the chair that casita moved closer to him as he sat down and sighed.
"I never thanked you". He spoke
"For what?" Mirabel coaxed
"For convincing your family to let me stay". Miguel smiled
"Of course I wouldn't have let you suffer out there that's just cruel". She chuckled
She then began to put the sheets on the couch as Miguel smiled at her.
"How could she be so kind to me she just met me and yet she convinced her family to take me in How crazy is that?"
"Can I ask you something?" He asked
She hummed in response as she continued putting the sheets on.
"Why did you decide to help me, A stranger you just met out of nowhere?" He asked
Mirabel was a bit taken aback by the question but understood where he was coming from and she shook her head.
"It's common courtesy how can I not help you you're in danger and I couldn't just sit there and watch you get eaten". She laughed
Miguel smiled and looked quite surprised.
When she finished putting the sheets on she carefully helped him up off that chair and set him down gently careful not damage his leg.
"Easy there are you Okay?" She asked
"Just a little sore is all". He answers
She then went to the kitchen and grabbed some ice and put it on His leg to ease the pain. He winced at the cold pain but slowly he was getting comfortable with it as he smiled at her.
Miguel tried to laugh because the ice tickled his leg and Mirabel tried not to burst into laughter but she couldn't help but stifle a chuckle.
After about 10 minutes she had drained the ice in the sink as she watched the sun begin to set out the window.
Miguel smiled he wish he could thank her for all she and her family have done but that will have to wait until morning .
"Are you Alright?" He asked
Mirabel shook her head out of her thoughts and sighed.
"Si… sorry I just got distracted I tend to do that". Mirabel replies
"No… it's okay I can't blame you for watching sunset can I, I mean it is beautiful especially over the mountains". Miguel smiled
"That it is". Mirabel replies
"Well… rest up easy we've got a big day tomorrow we got to somehow find a way to get you home". Mirabel said
"Yeah, Thank you again". He thanked
"You don't need to thank me… just rest get some sleep ". Mirabel replies
Miguel smiled and nodded.
"Buenos noches Miguel ". She smiled
"Buenos noches Mirabel ". He replied
She exited the kitchen and headed up to her room, Meanwhile Miguel smiled and sighed he was determined to make it home and tomorrow he was gonna find a way but for now he let's sleep take over him.
