Chapter 01: The Night Of The attack!
Erin drove over to where she knew Voight would be dealing with the guy who had killed Justin. She thought the man deserved what was coming to him, but she remembered that revenge wasn't the way to go.
Once she parked the car, she got out and headed towards her foster father, not caring about the pouring rain.
'Hank!' she yelled over the thunder to make sure the Sergeant could hear her. The suspect stopped digging and looked up at Erin.
'Oh, thank God. Thank God,' Kevin shouted to Erin, hoping she was there to help him. 'This guy tried to kill me,' Kevin yelled loudly enough for Erin to hear over the rain and thunder. Erin blinked away the rainwater from her eyes.
'I didn't do anything,' Kevin insisted, pleading with Erin to stop Voight from shooting. Erin glanced at Kevin and then at Voight, ignoring the weak plea. 'Don't do this,' the brunette begged Voight, who glared at Erin as he aimed the gun at Kevin.
" Erin, get back in the car," Voight told the young detective, who gave him a pleading look. Her hazel eyes never looked away from his. "Don't mess it all up because of him," she whispered.
Voight was getting irritated, clenching his gun tightly. He really couldn't stand it when the brunette defied him like this.
"Get back in your car. "
"Hank, please."
"Please… Justin wouldn't want you to do this."
"Erin, get lost," Voight said, looking angrily at Erin, his tone harsher than he intended, especially with the brunette. He was too blinded by grief to even consider what he was saying or who he was yelling at.
"Justin wouldn't want this!" Erin pleaded, shoving her hands into her pockets to keep them from freezing in the rain dripping into her eyes and burning them.
"NOW!" he shouted, making sure his voice was even harsher than last time. He knew he had to do this, and he knew Erin knew it too.
" Hank. Hank!"
"Erin," Voight said as Erin approached him, trying to change his mind. She ignored Kevin's pleading look and both she and Voight stared at each other in silence until Erin let out a long sigh before turning back to her car.
Kevin started to yell after Erin, "No, don't!" He begged as the brunette headed to her car, "You can't!" Kevin screamed as the woman drove away.
Voight saw Erin drive off and when he couldn't see her anymore, he knew she wouldn't come back to convince him otherwise. So, he closed his eyes. "Sorry, Erin, but I have to do this," he muttered before pulling the trigger and killing Kevin with a shot to the head.

Erin bit her lip and couldn't help but let out a few whimpers as she drove home. It was getting hard for her to see through the pitch black sky, with the rain getting ten times harsher than before.
The only sound she could hear was the windshield wipers moving fast to keep the windshield clear. She ignored her ringing phone on the passenger seat, knowing it was Jay calling her.
The brunette ended up pulling into an alleyway to let her thoughts race through her head, "What the hell am I supposed to do now?" she asked herself.
Erin took a deep breath and checked Jay's message on her phone. She tried to shake off Voight's harsh tone from her mind.
'Hey, Erin, just making sure you're okay. If you're on your way home, be safe.' Despite her tears, Erin smiled while reading Jay's text. She was about to text him back when a knock interrupted her.
Erin wiped her eyes, put on a brave face, and rolled down the window to see a masked figure outside her car, with only his dark eyes visible, sending a shiver down her spine.
Everything in Erin's mind told her to roll up the window and drive away, but she felt a strong urge to help the masked man, even though she had a bad feeling about it.
Her hazel eyes glanced at her phone as it buzzed a few more times, but she ignored it and turned back to the masked man who was staring at her with a blank look in his dark eyes.
'Can I help you with something?' Erin asked, trying to keep her voice steady so the man wouldn't think she was getting nervous.
'Get out of the car, slow and steady,' the man's deep voice rumbled as he clenched something behind his back. Erin took a deep breath, tempted to reach for her gun in the glove box.
'Get out of the car, bitch, and keep your hands where I can see them!' the man sneered, causing the brunette to freeze.
She cursed under her breath as she quickly reached for her pepper spray just in case, slipping it into her sleeve before the man yanked open her car door and forcefully pulled her out after undoing her seatbelt.
Erin was biting her lip as the guy pushed her hard onto the car hood, making her head bump against it. 'You should've listened to me, little one, now it'll be tougher for you,' the man whispered in Erin's ear.
The masked man slid his hand down Erin's body while holding her head down. 'Let's check if there's anything that can harm me, we wouldn't want that, right?' He chuckled as she growled.
'You better release me, if you know what's good for you!' Erin threatened, trying to break free, but he tightened his grip. 'Shut up!' the man purred as he started grinding against her.
Erin bit her lip, gripping the pepper spray as the man pushed against her. 'Let me go!' She demanded, pulling out the pepper spray from her sleeve and raising her arm as best as she could while being pinned.
"Man, you're a real piece of work!" The guy snarled as he snatched the pepper spray from her hand, accidentally getting it on his neck instead of his eyes, causing a slight burn.
Erin grinned as the man's hold relaxed, giving her the opening to kick his foot and elbow his chest while he was distracted by the spray's burn.
The masked man was taken aback to see this petite woman fighting back, causing him to smirk as he watched Erin dash to the other side of the car to open the passenger door.
Erin swore as the door was still locked. "Ah, crap!" She muttered, using her elbow to break the window and reach for her phone and gun, but the man had already fully recovered from her attack. He locked the driver's side door with the keys inside, wearing gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints on the car.
"Man, you're one stubborn one, I'll give you that," the guy said as he whipped out his gun from his pocket and circled the car while Erin stepped back, giving up on shattering the window.
Erin shot him a glare, her thoughts racing to Jay and Voight. She shook her head to push them out of her mind, but then Justin popped up and caused her to stumble and trip over the curb.
The brunette let out a cry as she hit the side of the car, managing to prevent herself from falling all the way to the ground. But it was enough for the masked man to push her back against the car.
"Time for running away is over, little girl," the man snarled in Erin's ear as he made her turn around and bend her hips out. "That's it, little one. Let me do what I want and it'll be all over," he chuckled.
Erin was biting her lip and closing her eyes when the man yanked her jeans down, the brunette knew she didn't have the strength to fight back, not only because he had the upper hand, but also because she let her grief overwhelm her and weaken her ability to resist.
Her mind and heart were clouded by grief as she bit her lip hearing the man remove his belt and jeans. 'That's it, good girl, stand there like the slut you are," he taunted.
Erin attempted to move to get him off her, but he had her pinned down even harder than before. 'This will hurt, sweetheart, but I promise to make it quick,' the man whispered in her ear and lifted his mask slightly to kiss her neck.
Her breathing hitched as she felt the man's cock rubbing against her at a sickeningly slow pace.
Erin closed her eyes, allowing herself to relax, hoping it wouldn't hurt as much if she just let it happen, even though she knew she would despise herself for it. Still, she didn't want him to kill her, even if that might have been the better option.
His eyes rolled back in pleasure as he entered Erin. 'Oh, hell…' He let out a deep breath as he continued, causing Erin to wince in pain but she tried to push through it.
'You're so tight,' the man grunted, increasing his pace while disregarding Erin's suppressed cries. 'That's it…just like that,' he muttered, gripping her head against her car.
Tears rolled down Erin's cheeks, her body going numb as the man kept assaulting her. She bit her lip as his thrusts grew more forceful with each movement. 'Fuck, take it, little girl. ' he growled, showing no concern for the tears rolling down Erin's face.
Erin felt her legs drenched in blood as the man's assault intensified. 'Stop… please,' she begged, struggling to stay upright. 'Almost there, sweetheart,' the man grunted, thrusting rapidly.
Her eyes filled with tears as the brunette hit the ground hard after the masked man let her go. Erin didn't have the strength to keep herself from falling.
She watched as the man zipped up his pants and kneeled beside her limp body with a gun in hand. 'That was a good time, huh, little one?' he chuckled. The fear in Erin's hazel eyes was evident as he pointed the gun at her head.
Thoughts raced in her mind. Would Voight notice her absence? Would Jay come looking for her when he realized she hadn't replied? Would the others even know she was missing?
Erin shut her eyes but quickly opened them to see the man caressing her cheek with his gloved hand. 'What's wrong, little one?' he mocked, moving the gun to her temple, causing her to flinch.
'Don't do that,' Erin pleaded, wondering if the man assaulting her would go as far as killing her to silence her. She even questioned if death might be a better option, considering the circumstances.
She felt giving up and escaping this harsh reality might just be easier. But could she really leave Voight, being the only one he has left?
And what about Jay, would he move on from her? Part of her wished he would, wanting him to be happy, while the other part feared he wouldn't.
'Don't what?' the man taunted as he menacingly lowered the gun down Erin's body. 'Don't shoot you? How else can I make sure you stay quiet?' His voice oozed with malice.
Erin cried out as she tried to evade the man, but he pressed his foot down on her chest, relishing in toying with her. 'Where do you think you're going?' he demanded.
Erin begged, 'Please, just let me go…' but the man continued to press his foot harder on her chest, causing her to groan in pain. She tried to assure him, 'I won't tell anyone,' but her voice came out weakly. Despite her efforts to push his foot away, the man laughed at her struggles.
'What was that?' he taunted, lifting his foot and allowing Erin to catch her breath. Gasping for air, she reiterated, 'I won't tell anyone, I promise,' making the man grin. 'Good, that's what I wanted to hear,' he replied before kicking her again, his laughter ringing through the street.
"Just checking, babe," the man said before shooting Erin in the stomach. Erin didn't show much reaction, her eyes glazed over as blood poured from the gunshot wound.
Erin's vision blurred as the man leaned in and whispered in her ear, "That was fun. Maybe we'll do this again in a better place if you survive." As the man kissed her cheek and lifted his mask.
Erin saw lights turning on around her as he disappeared. She weakly tried to push herself up and leaned against her car, struggling to call for help now that the masked man was gone.
Erin's eyes started to shut right as she saw two familiar figures running towards her. She tried to speak but couldn't, hearing Kelly and Casey's voices.
The brunette realized she must not be far from Molly's if Kelly and Casey came rushing over. 'Erin, we're gonna get you help, just hold on,' Kelly softly said but the panic in his voice was evident.
