About a week after the end of the marriage project, Cody, Bailey, and all the rest of their friends were once again in Ms. Tutwiler's social studies class, and to be specific they were working on a geography lesson as they were crossing the Pacific Ocean.

"London, can you tell me what this is?" Ms. Tutwiler motioned to a specific meridian on the world map.

"A bad manicure?" London asked as she glanced up from filing her nails.

"No." Ms. Tutwiler said, but groaned when she looked closer at her hand. "Oh, eww. Ok. Has anyone heard of the international dateline?"

"Is it what you say to a French babe so she'll go out with you?" Woody guessed.

Bailey turned around to shake her head at Cody in response and then spoke up for the whole class. "No. It's an imaginary line created in 1884, to the east of which the date is a day earlier than it is on the west.

"So, when you cross the dateline, you have to turn your clocks back 24 hours. A full day." Cody added.

"Correct. Yay." Ms. Tutwiler clapped her hands, relieved that she could always count on at least two students to know the answers. "Which is what we are going to do tonight."

"Oh great! That works for me." Zack said excitedly. "Because if tomorrow is today, then that means today is tomorrow, so the homework we had due today, we don't have to turn in until tomorrow!"

"So, in other words, you didn't do your homework?" Ms. Tutwiler asked.

"Not yet," Zack promised.

Ms. Tutwiler just shook her head. "Anyway, also remember that to celebrate midterms we're going to throw a big International Dateline Dance tonight. I was hoping it would be on the Skydeck, but looking at the weather reports, Mr. Mosby and I will probably be moving it inside. But I want to once again thank everyone who's been helping us with the planning committee. And Zack…Mr. Mosby has agreed to let you be the DJ for tonight."

"Yes! Get ready for Wolfman Zack. Awwoo!" Zack howled.

Bailey smiled as Ms. Tutwiler returned to her lesson, but she couldn't help but sigh inwardly as she glanced at Cody taking notes at his desk right beside her. Something like a school dance, she wished more than anything that she and him could dance the night away together but she knew they couldn't.

Everything they did together was always great…but the longer she had to hide herself, the more and more she felt like the real her was getting lost. Bailey would never grow tired of Cody…but sometimes she wondered what her life would be like if she could truly be herself, no longer hiding from everyone else, but most of all no more hiding from the world how she felt about Cody. For more reasons than one. Both so she could show the world how much she cared about him, and how lucky she was, but also for some not-so-positive reasons.

She had no idea if Cody knew, but ever since the dance had been first announced a few days ago, there had been several other girls in their classes who had been looking at Cody with interest. Especially Reina. She was probably waiting for Cody to ask her, but Bailey knew in her heart that she had nothing to fear, but it didn't stop her mind from questioning things, although the two of them hadn't even discussed anything about the dance together, and Bailey wasn't sure what they would be doing tonight. She only wished that wherever they were, they were still together.

But with all of Bailey's inner worrying, even though she was still paying enough attention to raise her hand for every question, Cody could tell something was off in the way she wasn't looking into his eyes with laughter or accomplishment whenever one of them answered a question correctly.

So once school was let out for the day and they were both back in their cabin together, Cody got straight down to it. "Hey Bailey, is something bothering you? Are you feeling homesick again or anything?"

"Um, no Cody, not homesick… it's…nothing you need to worry about." Bailey tried to insist.

"Are you sure? Because Bailey…" Cody stepped closer to her and took her hand in his, "I think I know you well enough by now to know something's going on, but it's your choice, you don't need to tell me if you don't want to."

"No, no, I do. I promise I do Cody…it's just a bit…irrational."

"And you think that will shock me? You've met my brother…and London. Irrationalities don't phase me, and if there's something I can do to help, please let me help you out."

"Ok." Bailey took a nervous breath in. "Are you going to the dance tonight?"

"Well, yeah. Of course I am." Cody nodded like it was obvious.

Bailey's heart fell in disappointment, "Oh did…did someone ask you?"

"No? Aren't I going with you?"

"I don't know, are you?"

"Um, are we?" Cody asked.

"Cody, I can't go to the dance with you. I mean sure being fake married for a school project is one thing, but people will probably ask some questions if we tried to slow dance together."

"Oh, well I just figured we'd do the same thing we did with Barbara. Me and my girlfriend Kaylee will go to the dance together and dance the night away under the moonlight." Cody smiled at her.

At that moment the porthole swung open and thunder rumbled outside.

"Or hopefully we'll be dancing under the cheap fluorescent lights." Cody joked.

"What? Why didn't you tell me this before now?"

"Because I assumed that's what we'd do, and I mean it worked so well last time, Zack was none the wiser, and I'm sure we can easily convince London, Woody, Addison, and anyone else who will be there." Cody pointed out.

"Ok, I see your point, but next time you come up with a plan like this, or there's another dance, make sure to ask me first," Bailey warned him.

"Ok, I will, but why do I need to ask you? I mean aren't we together?"

"Yeah, and?" Bailey asked in response.

"So doesn't that mean our dance cards and dates are already filled out for every dance ever?"

"I suppose so, but Cody, a word of advice, it's still nice to be asked, even if you know my answer will always be yes."

"Duly noted." Cody nodded and lowered himself down on one knee. "So, Bailey, will you make me the happiest man alive and be my date to the international dateline dance?"

"I would be the happiest woman alive to go to the dance with you." Bailey smiled and leaned down to pull Cody in for a hug. "Like I said my answer will always be yes, just don't forget to ask in the future."

"Don't worry, I won't ever make that mistake again," Cody promised, he then leaned close to peck Bailey's lips. "I apologize for making an assumption."

"Don't worry, you're forgiven." Bailey smiled and leaned closer to Cody, so that all the other could see was the other's eyes. "Being able to dance the night away with you will be more than enough to make up for it."

Cody laughed, "You say that now, but did I ever tell you about the time I was in a dance contest at the Tipton?"

"No, what happened?"

"Oh not much, I just fell off the stage and took my dance partner with me…" Cody launched into the story, which by the end had Bailey shaking her head in laughter.

"OK, ok, seriously, every story you tell just makes me wish I could have lived in that hotel with you and Zack and London. But don't worry about tonight. I know plenty of moves from all the barn dances I've been to over the years."

"Well, with a teacher as cute as you, I'll be sure to pay attention," Cody promised.

A few hours later, both of them had finished taking their turns to get ready in their bathroom. Cody was already wearing a white jacket over a black T-shirt and pants and was seated at his desk while he was waiting for Bailey to finish getting ready.

Not a moment too soon, Bailey happily stepped out of the room wearing a pretty yellow dress as golden as sunflowers, with her brunette hair pulled back in a ponytail. As Cody took her in, all he could do was smile brightly.

"So, how do I look?" Bailey smiled as she gave a little twirl, just enough for the edge of her dress to flutter around her legs.

"So beautiful." Cody said, still smiling, "I think yellow's now my new favorite color."

"Awe, thank you, Cody." Bailey stepped closer to him as she took in the sight of him too. "I can't wait to spend my night dancing with the most handsome feller on this ship."

"So, are you ready to show everyone the happiest couple at Seven Seas High? Caylee?" Cody asked and held his arm out to her.

"You know I am," Bailey replied and snaked her arm in his. "I'm glad we're crossing the international dateline because I don't want tonight to end anytime soon."

"Bails, all I can say is ditto," Cody replied and they made their way out the door.

When they arrived in the ballroom the dance had been moved to, the dance was already in full swing. All their classmates were already busy enjoying their time dancing away from the storm clouds gathered outside as more and more students were gradually filing in and joining the dance floor, searching for their friends or dates, or already hitting the refreshment table to fill up for the long night ahead of them.

"So, are you ready to dance Ms. Pickett?"

"Oh you know I am Mr. Martin. Let's go!" Bailey laughed and they joined the dance floor, and like Cody had warned Bailey earlier, it seemed like Cody had two left feet when it came to dancing, but she was happy to show him Kettlecorn classics like the Sheep Shear and Milking the Cow which even he was able to get down pat fairly quickly.

They were having a lot of fun until they were interrupted by a worried Woody walking over to them. "Cody, Cody, Cody. I need your help."

"What is it Woody?"

"I need your help. So, you know how girls like guys who are funny? Well, I want to impress Addison tonight so can I run the awesome joke that I found on the internet by you."

"Sure thing Woody, and hey you can get Caylee's opinion on it too."

"Who?" Woody asked.

"Me, I'm…Caylee, Cody's girlfriend." Bailey smiled and happily reached around Cody's shoulders.

"What? No way." Woody shook his head in disbelief.

"Um, yes way. Caylee here is my girlfriend." Cody confirmed.

Woody shook his head. "No, you're not. Dude, this chick is way out of your league."

"Excuse me?" Bailey asked in an annoyed tone.

"Hey, I know that, but she seems to like me anyway. So Woody how about you just run your joke by us? Caylee doesn't mind." Cody just tried to keep Woody moving along.

"Sure thing. This sick patient goes to the doctor because he has a sore throat right? So the doctor checks him out and says… You're a little horse! Ha ha!" Woody laughed heartily and slapped his knee.

Cody and Bailey shared a confused glance. "Um, I don't get it," Cody reported.

"Yeah, me neither," Bailey added.

Woody paused for a moment and seemed to be going over the joke in his head again. "Oh, did I mention the patient was a pony?"

"No, you didn't." Cody replied.

"Dang it! I always forget that part. But do you think it'll give me a shot with Addison tonight if I say it right?"

Cody and Bailey both scanned the ballroom for Addison and they could see her sprinting around the perimeter, looking like she was once again on one of her oh-so-common sugar rushes.

"Yeah, if you can catch up to her," Cody remarked.

"And Woody, if you really like Addison, just be yourself, if you want to know that's how Cody and I got together."

"Sure, anyway dude you are so filling me in later, seeing you two together just gives me hope too. Later!" Woody walked away and indeed looked like he was going to try to intercept Addison at the snack table.

Cody shrugged his shoulders and turned back to Bailey, ready to dance again, but paused when he took in the worried look on her face. "Bails? What's wrong."

"What's wrong? Why did you let Woody talk to you like that?"

"What do you mean?"

"About me being out of your league? How can he say that?"

"Well, I mean it's true." Cody shrugged his shoulders, "I mean you're beautiful, both inside and out, even if most people here don't truly know how deep your beauty goes. Honestly, I'm surprised no one else has ever noticed the real you, because ever since you told me the truth, and you're in disguise all I can think is that you were always way too pretty to be a guy."

"Cody, sweetie, thank you for the compliment, but what about you?"

"Bails, I'm well aware I'm not the most macho man, masculine, muscular type, and I would never take for granted what we have together, but for most people who only look skin deep, there are probably lots of guys who think you could do way better than me, and I would say I'm one of them."

"Cody, stop thinking about that right now. I've told you dozens of times already, that you're the best guy on this ship, and honestly, probably the best guy I've ever known besides my Daddy. I'll tell you right now, and don't you forget it that you and I are one hundred percent in the same league, and not just academically, but in every way inside and out. Got it?"

"Yes, dear." Cody smiled. "I know we both care about each other way more than just our outward appearances."

"Yes, but we both can admit they match the most important parts, which are on the inside."

"Agreed." Cody smiled, "So are you ready to go back to dancing? Maybe I can even get Zack to play us a slow song or two."

"Yeah that would be great, and just remember Cody, I'm all yours and you're all mine. I'll go grab some punch for us so we can be ready to dance the night away."

"You bet." Cody walked over to Zack's DJ table across the room while Bailey walked in the opposite direction to grab some punch.

"Hey Zack."

"What's up Codester? And tonight it's Grandmaster Zack, wiki wiki woah." Zack said in a purposefully gruff voice like he was a rapper or something. Ms. Tutwiler vetoed the wolfman.

"Yeah, so I was hoping you could play SONG next for me and Caylee."

"Who?" Zack asked.

"Caylee, my girlfriend remember?"

"Oh dude where is she? I swear I haven't seen her since Bob and Barbara left. So how did she take you being married to Bailey for a week for that weird project?"

"She was alright with it, she knew it was just a school project. But uh, Ms. Tutwiler gave her class their own social studies project they've been working on."

"Well, I still can't believe how you got someone so out of your league. But sure, I'll add you to the queue." Zack took the CD and typed something on the computer in front of him. "You are number fifteen in the queue."

"Fifteen? Come on Zack, I'm your brother."

"Fifteen. Or you know, a certain president or two might be able to convince me."

Cody rolled his eyes but dug a $5 bill out of his pocket and handed it over to Zack.

"Look at that, your song is next." Zack grinned happily. "So where's your babe?"

Cody looked out over the crowded ballroom for a few moments. "She said she wanted to grab some punch from the snack table."

"Oh," Zack glanced over to the snack table. "Hey, is she the chick in the yellow dress?"

"Yep, that's her." Cody smiled happily just at the happy memory of how beautiful she was.

"Um, Codester, you might want to check on your girl…" Zack said in a warning tone.

"Why?" Cody looked over and he could see Holden, one of the juniors in the grade above them smiling and talking to Bailey.

"Dude, look at him. He is totally trying to make a move on her."

"Don't be ridiculous, I'm not worried about Caylee talking to some random guy. She's just being friendly and polite."

"Sure, if that's what you want to believe," Zack said sarcastically like he didn't believe that at all. "Even if Cailey wouldn't, I've heard plenty of stories about Holden."

"What that he's like you? Chasing down every girl on the ship?" Cody rolled his eyes.

"Exactly, now do you understand why you should be nervous?"

"I'm not nervous," Cody insisted. "My song is still playing next right?"

"You gotcha. Now go get your girl." Zack cheered him on.

Cody just shook his head one more time and calmly walked back across the room. He wasn't worried in the slightest. He knew he could trust Bailey, and if this Holden guy tried anything, well Cody did have bear repellent in his pocket.

Bailey was happily drinking some punch, with all the rain going on outside she was surprisingly thirsty, and the punch was the perfect thing she needed to quench her thirst. She felt a tap on her shoulder and turned around, expecting to see Cody rejoining her, but instead, it was a different taller guy wearing a purple shirt who was smiling at her.

"Hey, I'm Holden, I don't think I've seen you on the ship before. What's your name pretty lady?"

Bailey smiled back, but something about the way he was looking at her was giving her a bad feeling for some reason. "It's Caylee, and don't worry I'm no stowaway." Bailey joked.

"What class are you in? I'm a junior."

"I'm a sophomore."

"Ah, that must be it. Yeah, I don't really see many sophomores, but starting tonight maybe that can change."

"Oh I don't think so, those class schedules are pretty tight," Bailey said as the bad feeling she had just kept growing.

"OK everybody, for this next one, we're going to slow things down a bit," Zack announced from his DJ stand and I Can't Help Falling In Love With You. started playing.

"Ah, I love this song." Bailey smiled and tried to look past Holden to see if she could find Cody.

"Well, Caylee can I have this dance?" Holton asked, giving her what was probably his best charming smile.

"Thank you for the offer, but I'll have to decline. My dance card is already full for tonight."

"What are you talking about? A pretty girl like you shouldn't be dancing all alone."

"I won't be, I'm here with my boyfriend," Bailey said with a smile as her thoughts returned to Cody.

"Oh, so who's the lucky guy?" Holden asked with a hint of annoyance in his tone.

"Caylee, there you are. I know this song is your favorite. So what do you say we hit the dance floor." Cody walked up to Bailey right in the nick of time and offered his hand out to her.

"I would love that Cody. See you later Holden, but I don't want to miss any more of this song."

"Seriously? Cody Martin is your boyfriend? Don't you know how much of a nerd this guy is? You could do so much better you know."

"Hey, trust me I know, and I will be forever grateful that fate brought us together on this ship." Cody agreed.

"Hey, don't talk about Cody like that. Cody is one of the smartest and greatest guys I have ever met. Those are just some of the things I like about him. And Holton you are wrong, I know already I can't possibly do better than Cody because he is exactly who I want to be with, no one else."

"Come on, so you're going to be dancing with him all night? And not one song for me?" Holden asked once more.

"No. Not after the way you put Cody down for no reason. I would say you're a nice guy and find someone else to dance with, but now I hope you aren't bothering anyone else. Let's go, Cody, I don't want to waste any more time." Bailey declared and pulled Cody away and out onto the dancefloor.

Once they were away from Holton, both Cody and Bailey were able to relax as they pulled each other close. Cody with his hands on Bailey's waist and Bailey with her hands snaked around his neck, just looking into their significant other's eyes, and feeling their touch was enough to wash away all their worries.

"Thanks for that Bailey."

"Of course, I meant every word I said. Cody, it's just like I've always told you. I've never met anyone else like you ever, and I think you are amazing. So don't listen to idiots like Holton or even Woody who think you're out of my league. You are one hundred percent in my league, you are the only one in my league, and that's final."

"Thanks, but I must disagree with you there. I think it's pretty clear if everyone else on the ship knew this was the real you, I'd have a lot more competition."

"What the feathers are you talking about Cody?'

Well, Zack was the first one to point Holden out to me, but even as I was walking back and now that we're dancing it's pretty clear a lot of the guys here have their eyes on you."

"They do?"

"Yep, and I bet everyone is thinking the same thing. How is a girl like you dancing with a guy like me?"

"Well, unlike everyone else, I know the answer to that question, you Cody have a beautiful mind, a wonderful heart, and a handsome smile. That's all the answer anyone ever needs to know and that is why I will always care about you so much."

"Thanks, Bailey." Cody smiled back. "Let's not care what anyone else thinks, because the only thing that matters is what we think."

"I couldn't agree more. And Cody, I meant what I said. Tonight, my dance card is full for you and only you."

"Good thing mine is too." Cody smiled, "And even better it appears I've got this dancing thing down. I haven't even stepped on your toes once."

"That you have." Bailey nodded. "Think I can get Zack to play a song we can square dance to?"

"Be my guest to try, but it will probably require a couple of presidents if you know what I mean, and you'd probably be the only one on this boat who knows what they're doing."

Bailey laughed, and Cody felt his heart skip a beat. "You're probably right, but what do you mean by presidents?"

"Well to get this song at the top of the queue instead of number fifteen, I had to use Honest Abe's help to convince him."

"OK, I get it now." Bailey giggled. "But like I said, let's just enjoy our time together, and let ourselves be ourselves without any worries what anyone else is going to say."

"I think that sounds like a marvelous idea."

Cody and Bailey did indeed spend the rest of the night dancing together, they loved taking advantage of the opportunity to hold each other close during the slow songs but were also more than willing to have fun dancing with all their other friends during the faster songs.

But eventually, Ms. Tutwiler took Zack's microphone for an important announcement. "OK everyone, we should be crossing the international dateline in 3, 2, 1!" Ms. Tutwiler announced like it was New Year's Eve.

Everyone paused their dancing and looked around in confusion for a few moments.

"Yeah, that's it." Ms. Tutwiler added, "But as it is now midnight, and on Friday morning again, that means it's time for everyone to return to your cabins for school tomorrow."

"Augh!" The whole ballroom full of students collectively groaned.

"Just kidding, Mr. Mosby has agreed to a No School day tomorrow so we all have a 3-day weekend to celebrate!"

"Yeah!" This time the ballroom cheered in excitement.

"But you still have 30 minutes from now until curfew is in effect and Kirby starts his patrol so everyone return to your cabins promptly." Ms. Tutwiler warned them.

As everyone started breaking up to head back to their cabins. Cody and Bailey pulled each other close one more time.

"So, same plan as last time?" Cody asked.

Bailey nodded, "Yep, I'll head in the direction of the girls' cabins but then I'll hide in the maids' closet until the halls are clear."

"I'll miss you until you can come back home."

"And I'll miss you more, and hopefully it won't take too long." Bailey stepped closer to kiss Cody's cheek and then they started making their way hand in hand out of the ballroom and headed towards the student cabins, only breaking off when all the other couples were splitting up to head to their respective cabins.

They each gave each other one last squeeze of their hands, and one last smile was shared until Bailey followed the rest of the girls and then split off to hide in the nearest closet and Cody returned to their cabin first.

But then a few minutes later, the coast was all clear both from what she could see of the empty hallways, and when Cody texted her his report that all was quiet back home as well.

And so, Bailey returned to the cabin and knocked on the door, just to be safe, and moments later Cody was happily welcoming her inside. Both once again took turns in the bathroom following their usual bedtime routine and then both went to sleep in their beds, considering it was already past midnight, not even they were going to be complaining about a few hours of extra sleep tomorrow morning and a day off from school.

But unbeknownst to them, when Bailey had knocked on the door and walked into their cabin, Zack had been right around the corner since Ms. Tutwiler requested that he help put the DJ equipment away for the night.

But he froze when he couldn't believe his eyes. It looked like Cody's new, mysterious, and mysteriously hot girlfriend was breaking curfew to be with him. Zack slowly entered his cabin and softly closed the door behind him. He then immediately stared out his door's peephole to watch the hall.

"Hey Zack, what are you doing?" Woody asked him when he walked out of the bathroom, now dressed in his usual footie pajamas.

"I'm on a stakeout. I can't believe this!"

"What is it?" Woody asked and ran to Zack's side excitedly.

"It's Cody and his girlfriend Caylee. I saw her walk into Cody's room five minutes ago and she still hasn't come out. And it's officially after curfew!"

"Wait seriously? So that girl who's way out of his league is not only his girlfriend but breaking curfew with him?" Woody asked.

"I know right? I can't believe it." Zack didn't know what he was feeling, surprise, annoyance, a little bit of jealousy, lots of confusion but also admittedly a little bit of pride. "Codester you dog! Oh my God, I can't believe this. Codester finally did it!"

"What?"

"I think he's finally taking after me, and there is no way he's getting out of this now. Tomorrow it is so interrogation time, and my dear baby brother isn't going to leave anything out when I'm through with him." Zack cackled happily.

He and Woody spent the next hour taking turns watching for any sign of the girl leaving Cody's cabin, but after the hour was up, it was clear to both of them that the situation probably wasn't going to change tonight, so they too went to their beds, but for Zack at least it was a long time coming before he drifted off, solely because he was trying to plan out his interrogation to make sure he learned everything about Cody's new girl, and just what they were up to together.
