Lloyd POV: After letting Cole and Jay take Hry to prison, we wasted no time in getting to the Bounty. Kai was still out, and Zane's knee was starting to limp a little. Nya had called PIXAL on the way back, and she was waiting on the deck when we finally got there.
"What happened? We've been having communication issues for nearly four hours." she said as soon as she saw us. But she went right to Zane before anything else.
"I'm sorry about worrying you. We ran into an unexpected trap." Zane explained, and while PIXAL scanned his leg.
She sighed gently and said, "It's alright now that you're back. But is Kai alright?"
Nya and I shared a quick look before she said, "We're not exactly sure."
PIXAL seemed confused, but she didn't push the issue, and we all headed to our room. She and Zane went into Zane's room, and we laid Kai down in his own room. Every time I walk in here I'm always surprised by how little he has in here. Same with Nya, given how they had to grow up, but I always wish that they both would get comfortable.
Once Nya got him comfortable, she whispered, "I think he should be good for now."
"Good, and now we're going to talk with Cole I'm guessing?" I asked, even though I really didn't need to.
She nodded, and we left, heading for the control room. Nya didn't waste any time and pulled up their location on our tracking system. It showed that they were both still heading to the prison. Meaning they were still going to be a while. She groaned a little in frustration, but she didn't say anything.
"Or we wait until they get back." I commented, but whether she heard or not, I couldn't tell.
She just stood there, fuming and staring at the screen. Eventually, she sighed and sat down at the table. I joined her without making a comment, mostly because she still looked a little frustrated.
"Sorry for getting mad like that. I'm just worried." she said after sitting in silence for a while.
"It's alright. I know how you can be about Kai. He's the same when it comes to you, too." I tried to reassure her, but she just shook her head.
"That's not a good excuse." Was all she said.
"If it makes you feel better I'm worried too." I said, and she started thinking about it.
"But it doesn't make much sense. What happened to him in there. That place wasn't… the best, but I don't know." she said, mostly mumbled to herself. But I did agree with her anyway.
Sure, we all have had our tough times, as well as times that none of us like to talk about. But Kai… I don't even know what to think. And the look on Cole's face didn't reassure me at all. However, all we can do is wait and try not to go crazy.

Cole POV: It took so long to get Hry to Kryptarium, and I was honestly so done once we got him processed. There was way too much paperwork just to transfer him. And after everything before, I just wanted to sleep for three days. Jay, just based on his face, was also done with everything.
But at the same time, I felt too on edge to sleep. I couldn't stop thinking about what I saw with Kai. I've never seen him so terrified and that lady… I just don't know what to think. I know for a fact we've never faced anything like that, or been to a place that looked like that. Plus, the fact that he passed out so soon after learning that it wasn't real didn't ease my concerns.
"At least that's over and done with." Jay said, sighing heavily.
"Yeah, I agree." I responded, sighing with him.
As we started making our way back, Jay asked, "So… what happened with Kai? You didn't really explain earlier."
I looked at him, and he did look worried, and I wish I could say something to help. But I just didn't know much myself and said, "I… think that's something Kai should say himself."
He didn't say anything, and we continued to the Bounty, which made it back to Ninjago City before us. Which probably means Nya was waiting for us to get back. I sighed quietly as I saw it parked, but Jay honestly looked ready to be back. So I took a deep breath to prepare myself, and we headed up. Jay practically jumped on board, and I tried not to look too hesitant. However, she wasn't waiting on the deck like I thought she would be thankful. Jay walked up to the control and followed, and Nya and Lloyd were waiting at the table, looking extremely worn out.
But the second she looked up and saw us, she jumped up. But instead of heading up to me, she walked to Jay and they hugged each other tightly. Like they didn't want to let go, making me guess that their nightmare involved each other. Lloyd and I quickly shared a look and left them alone.
"It's been a long day." he said as I closed the door behind us.
"You could say that again." I answered, but he kept giving me looks.
I sighed and said, "Just ask Lloyd, I know you want to."
He flinched slightly and said, "Was I that obvious?"
"Yes." I said quickly and we both laughed a little.
Then he got a serious look on his face and asked, "What happened to Kai? What did you see?"
I didn't answer right away. I knew he would want a real answer, but what could I say? Even thinking about it gave me shivers.
"I honestly don't know Lloyd. All I can say is that if you want to know you're going to have to ask Kai." Was how I answered him.
That clearly shook him, but he didn't say anything. However, I didn't stop thinking about it. Something must have happened to Kai that none of us were aware of. Nya might know something, but I don't think that's the case. But the one thing I do know for sure is that something is going to change. Whether we like it or not.

Kai POV: I didn't want to wake up, but the cold, aching headache forced me to open my eyes. That's when I noticed I was in my bed on the Bounty. I was confused by that because I don't remember getting into bed. How did I end up here?
That's when it came back to me. The forest, running, finding Cole,... her.
I flopped back and turned to the wall, and pulled my legs to my chest. I know now that it was all an illusion, but it was still that place. Going through that again plus the nightmare from this morning. I couldn't stop shaking and I felt tears form in my eyes. I wiped them away and tried taking a few deep breaths to calm down, which only helped a little bit. I know that it's over now, but I was still terrified because Cole was there.
He saw that place, and he saw me. I promised myself to not be a burden, and I broke it at that moment. Not only that but now Cole is going to want answers and there's no way the others won't get involved. And it's not like I can just play it off either, they'll see right through me.
I sighed and shook my head, trying to get rid of those thoughts for now. I was tired and I was only driving myself crazy right now. I need to sleep and get some energy back before I come up with a plan. I just hope that the nightmares will leave me alone for a while.
