Hulbury Gym Battles (Part Three)
When Leni enters the Gym Test area, the staff member explains to her how it worked. She didn't really understand much of what she was told, but she was willing to try her best. It took her a while, but she was able to get through it. Back in Royal Woods, her family and the others back at the Loud House watched Leni as she passed her Gym Test.
"I'm so glad that Leni was able to get through all that." said Rita.
"I concur." said Lisa.
"At least she did, honey." said Lynn Sr.
"Now all she has to do is defeat Nessa and she'll earn a Water Badge." said Lynn Jr.
Back at Hulbury Stadium, Leni enters the battle area and walks towards the center of it, with Nessa doing the same from another tunnel. When they meet up, Leni gets to talking about fashion, which Nessa joins in on for a while before they all go to their battle positions, after making plans to talk more after their match. A referee soon walks to the center of the arena.
"This is a three-on-three battle between the Gym Leader, Nessa; and the Gym Challenger, Leni Loud." said the referee. "Each trainer will use three Pokemon during this match; the first trainer to defeat all three of their opponent's Pokemon will be the winner. Let the match begin." The referee steps off to the side while Leni and Nessa each take out a pokeball.
Leni throws her pokeball, releasing her Tsareena; Nessa throws her, releasing her Goldeen.
"Leni starts out with a beautiful Tsareena, while Nessa starts out with her Goldeen. Let's see who comes out on top." said the announcer.
"Tsareena, use your new Trop Kick!" said Leni. Tsareena jumps into the air and comes down with a flying kick to the Goldeen, striking it, releasing a flurry of petal-shaped bits of energy, doing super effective damage and more thanks to her Rose Incense, and knocking it out.
"Goldeen is unable to battle. Tsareena is the winner." said the announcer.
"Incredible! Tsareena takes out Nessa's Goldeen in no time with one move!" said the announcer. "These Loud children's Pokemon are really strong!"
"That was, totes, amazing!" said Leni. Her family and friends at Hulbury Stadium and back in Royal Woods were cheering for her.
"That was awesome!" says Lincoln.
"I liked the petals that came out of her after she kicked that Goldeen." said Lola.
"I wouldn't want to be on the recieving end of that kick." said Lynn Jr back in Royal Woods. "Leni definitely has this match in the bag."
"It's too early to be certain LJ." said Lynn Sr.
"But our other kids and Clyde were able to beat Nessa with one Pokemon each." Rita pointed out. Nessa returns her Goldeen to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Goldeen." said Nessa. She then puts Goldeen's pokeball back onto her waist. "Your Tsareena is quite strong."
"Thank you." said Leni. "She worked very hard to get that strong." Nessa nods as she pulls out another pokeball from her waist and throws it, releasing her Arrokuda.
"Now Nessa has brought out her Arrokuda. Can her speedy Pokemon beat Leni's elegant Tsareena?" asked the announcer.
"Arrokuda, use Aqua Jet!" said Nessa. Arrokuda coats its body in water and propels itself at Tsareen, slamming into her, but not doing a lot of damage.
"Tsareena, use Magical Leaf!" said Leni. Tsareena releases a barrage of glowing leaves at the Arrokuda, hitting it, and doing enough to knock it out.
"Arrokuda is unable to battle. Tsareena is the winner." said the referee.
"You did it, Tsareena!" says Leni. Tsareena does a curtsy in response.
"Another one-hit win! That Tsareena is quite the grass type!" said the announcer.
"Keep it up, Leni!" says Lincoln.
"You're doing great, dudette!" said Luna. Leni smiles and waves at her family and friends. Back in Royal Woods, the Louds there, along with the others, were cheering Leni on as well.
"Just one more to go!" said Luan.
"This Pokemon stuff is so cool!" said Simon.
"I wish I was there!" said Lynn Jr, making her parents glare at her.
"Don't even think about it, young lady." said Rita, making Lynn Jr pout.
Back at Hulbury Stadium, Nessa was returning her Arrokuda to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Arrokuda." said Nessa. She then puts Arrokuda's pokeball onto her waist and pulls off her last one. She throws it, releasing her Drednaw.
"I, totes, know what's coming next." said Leni. Nessa then returns it to its pokeball; she then uses her Dynamax Band to enlarge it, then throws it, releasing Drednaw again; but this time, it's Dynamaxed.
Leni looks up at the Dynamaxed Drednaw. She then decides to see how strong Tsareena was and chooses not to Dynamax her.
"Why isn't Leni Dynamaxing her Tsareena?" asked Sam.
"Maybe she wants to try to beat Drednaw without doing that, like when Lincoln didn't Dynamax his Raboot during his match with Milo?" suggested Clyde.
"Could be." said Lucy from behind Clyde, scaring him. Back on the arena floor, Leni was ready to battle.
"Tsareena, use Power Whip!" says Leni. Tsareena's arms grew longer, bigger, and glowed bright green; then she swings them at the Dynamaxed Drednaw, striking the side of its head, doing super effective damage, and knocking it onto its side.
"That Drednaw had to have felt THAt one! Leni's Tsareena is incredible!" said the announcer. Nessa was astounded by Tsareena's power.
"This has never happened before." said Nessa. "Drednaw, use Max Rockfall!" Drednaw roars as a large slab of stone comes out of the arena floor and falls towards Tsareena.
"Look out, Leni!" shouts Lana. Leni looks with determination at the incoming attack.
"Tsareena, use Trop Kick on that move!" said Leni. Tsareena nods and leaps at the Max Rockfall, driving her feet into it, and, to everyone's surprise, shatters it to pieces.
"That was unbelievable!" said the announcer. Everyone in the audience was stunned by Tsareena's display of power.
"That Leni girl's Tsareena is strong!" said someone in the audience.
"Leni is an amazing trainer!" said another person in the audience.
"And a pretty one, too." said a boy in the crowd. Leni looks at the Drednaw, who was starting to look a little nervous.
"One more Trop Kick, Tsareena!" said Leni. Tsareena runs at the Dynamaxed Drednaw and delivers one final Trop Kick right in its nose, doing super effective damage. Drednaw's energy explodes, and it returns to its normal size, unconscious.
"Drednaw is unable to battle. Tsareena is the winner. That means the winner of the battle is the Gym Challnger, Leni Loud!" said the referee.
"What an unforgettable match! Leni's Tsareena dominated all of Nessa's Pokemon, even a Dynamaxed one while still at her normal size! I'll never forget this!" said the announcer.
"Leni won!" cheered Lola.
"I knew she could do it!" said Clyde.
"Me, too!" said Lana. Back in Royal Woods, Leni's family and friends were cheering for her as well.
"That was amazing!" said Rita.
"Quite the intense match." said Harold as he tries to wake up Howard, who passed out from the excitement.
Back at Hulbury Stadium, Nessa returns her Drednaw to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Drednaw." said Nessa. She puts Drednaw's pokeball on her waist, and she walks over to Leni, who was congratulating her Tsareena on her victories. Leni looks at Nessa with a smile.
"That was, totes, fun!" said Leni. Nessa smiles and nods as she pulls out a Water Badge, along with some pokedollars.
"You and your siblings are quite formidable." said Nessa. "In recognition of your victory, I present you with this Water Badge." She then hands Leni the Water Badge and pokedollars. Leni squeals with delight before raising her Water Badge up in triumph.
Later in the lobby, Leni's siblings and friends were waiting for her.
"Where's Leni?" asked Lana.
"What's taking her so long?" Lola asked impatiently. They hear the stadium lobby doors open, and they look to see Leni and Nessa entering while they were each carrying a shopping bag. They also notice that Leni was wearing a pendant and waist chain similar to Nessa's. The two wave at each other as Nessa goes through a door, while Leni goes over to the rest of the group.
"Where were you?" asked Luna.
"We were worried." said Lana.
"Sorry, guys." said Leni. "But me and Nessa wanted to do some shopping together while we waited for our Pokemon to be healed."
"Is that when you got that pendant and waist chain?" asked Sam.
"Yeah, aren't they great?" asked Leni. A staff member walks over to them.
"So, who's challening Nessa next?" asked the staff member.
"I will." said Lucy from behind the staff member, scaring her.
"Very well." said the staff member after taking a few deep breaths after Lucy's scare. The staff member steps aside, and Lucy walks past her and enters the area where the Gym Test is. Lucy is explained by the staff member on what she has to do. Lucy was able to make her way all the way to the gate, completing the Gym Test.
Back in Royal Woods, everyone watches Lucy pass her Gym Test.
"Lucy's doing good so far." said Lynn Sr.
"Now all she has to do is beat Nessa." said Rita.
"She can do it. If the others could, then so could she." said Lynn Jr.
"Especially since Leni took down Nessa without doing that Dynamaxing thing." said Luan.
"Yes. We must have confidence in the capabilities of our family members, Ronnie Anne, and Clyde." said Lisa.
Back at Hulbury Stadium, Lucy and Nessa both enter the battle area and reached the center of it.
"You've done well passing the Gym Test." said Nessa. "Now if you want the Water Badge, you must defeat me."
"I will win it. I have the support of my family, my friends, and the spirits." said Lucy. Nessa looked a little nervous from the 'spirits' part. Once she regained her composure, she and Lucy walk away from each other and into their battle positions.
"Go, Lucy!" said Lincoln.
"You can do it!" said Ronnie Anne.
"We believe in you, Lucy!" said Clyde. Back at the battle area, a referee walks to the center of the arena.
"This is a three-on-three battle between the Gym Leader, Nessa; and the Gym Challenger, Lucy Loud." said the referee. "Each trainer will use three Pokemon during this match; the first trainer to defeat all three of their opponent's Pokemon will be the winner. Let the match begin." The referee steps off to the side while Lucy and Nessa each take out a pokeball.
"Come out, Goldeen!" said Nessa, tossing Goldeen's pokeball and releasing it.
"And Nessa starts out with Goldeen." said the announcer. "How will Lucy respond?"
"Dartrix, go." said Lucy, tossing Dartrix's pokeball and releasing him.
"And Lucy answers my question with a Dartrix." said the announcer.
"Dartrix, Nasty Plot." said Lucy. Dartrix stares at Goldeen and he begins surging with energy.
"What does Nasty Plot do?" asked Leni.
"It increases her special attack strength." replied Lincoln.
"Goldeen, Peck!" said Nessa. Goldeen leaps at Dartrix and jabs him with its horn, dealing super effective damage.
"Don't give up, Lucy!" said Lana.
"I won't. The spirits would not approve of it." said Lucy. "Dartrix, Razor Leaf!" Dartrix flaps his wings and releases green leaves from them, and they hit Goldeen, doing massive damage due to Rose Incense powering up his grass type moves, and his special attack strength being increased by Nasty Plot. Goldeen falls to the arena floor with swirly eyes.
"Goldeen is unable to battle. Dartrix wins the match!" said the referee.
"And Lucy's Dartrix beats Nessa's Goldeen." said the referee. "What will Nessa do next?"
Back at Royal Woods, the rest of Lucy's family, Bobby, Howard and Harold McBride, and Simon watch the match.
"Wow! That is so cool!" said Simon.
"You got that right." said Lynn Jr.
"Way to go, Lucy." said Luan.
Back at Hulbury Stadium, Nessa returns Goldeen to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Goldeen." said Nessa. She puts Goldeen's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Arrokuda, go!" She tosses Arrokuda's pokeball and releases it.
"And Nessa brings out her Arrokuda." said the announcer.
"Aqua Jet!" Arrokuda becomes surrounded by water, and it flies at Dartrix and rams him, but not doing much damage to him.
"Razor Leaf." said Lucy. Dartrix flaps his wings and releases more leaves from them, and they hit Arrokuda, dealing super effective damage and knocking Arrokuda out.
"Arrokuda is unable to battle! Dartrix wins the match!" said the referee.
"And Dartrix defeats Arrokuda in one move!" said the referee. "Now Nessa has only one Pokemon left! Can she make a comeback?!"
"You go, Lucy!" said Luna.
"You just have one more Pokemon to beat!" said Clyde.
"And that Water Badge will be yours!" said Lincoln. Back at the battle arena, Nessa returns Arrokuda to its pokeball.
"You did all you could, Arrokuda." said Nessa. She puts Arrokuda's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "You're doing quite well, Lucy; but you still have to beat my final Pokemon to win the Water Badge. Drednaw, go!" She tosses Drednaw's pokeball and releases it, and then returns it to its pokeball; she then uses her Dynamax Band to enlarge it, then throws it, releasing Drednaw again; now Dynamaxed. Lucy then returns Dartrix to his pokeball and enlarges it with her Dynamax Band; she tosses it and releases her Dartrix, now Dynamaxed.
"Dartrix, Max Overgrowth." said Lucy. Dartrix releases giant glowing seeds onto the arena floor around Drednaw; enormous mushrooms and blades of grass grow from the arena and flashes of green energy comes out of them and they hit Drednaw, dealing super effective damage. Drednaw struggles to stay on its feet.
"Drednaw, Max Rockfall!" said Nessa. Drednaw roars as a large slab of stone comes out of the arena floor and falls onto Dartrix, dealing super effective damage to him due to rock type moves being strong against flying types. A sandstorm appears and Dartrix gets hit by it, hurting him. Dartrix struggles to stay on his feet.
"Don't give up, Lucy!" said Luna.
"I never intended to. Dartrix, Max Phantasm!" said Lucy. Dartrix spreads his wings and furniture made out of dark energy come out of the arena floor and fly at Drednaw, hitting it. Drednaw shrinks back to its original size and passes out.
"Drednaw is unable to battle! Dartrix wins! The winner of this battle is the challenger, Lucy!" said the referee.
"Lucy has done it! With only her Dartrix, she has defeated all three of Nessa's pokemon to earn her the victory!" said the announcer.
"Lucy did it!" said Leni.
"She sure did." said Lola.
Back at Royal Woods, everyone cheered for Lucy.
"That's my girl." said Rita.
Back at the Hulbury Stadium, Lucy and Dartrix were standing in front of Nessa.
"You've trained your Dartrix well, Lucy." said Nessa.
"Thanks." said Lucy. Nessa then holds out a Water Badge.
"For your victory here; I reward you with the Water Badge." said Nessa. Lucy takes the Water Badge, along with pokedollars.
Later at the stadium lobby, everyone was congratulating Lucy.
"Great job out there, Lucy." said Lincoln.
"Your Dartrix was amazing." said Clyde.
"Thank you, everyone." said Lucy. What Lincoln, her sisters, Clyde, Ronnie Anne, and Sam didn't know was she was also preferring to the spirits. A staff member approaches the group.
"Which of you will be challenging Nessa next?" asked the staff member.
"I will." said Ronnie Anne.
"Right this way then." said the staff member, motioning to the door that led to the Gym Test area. Ronnie Anne walks towards the door where she will take the Gym Test to earn the right to battle Nessa for her Water Badge. Will she succeed?
