By the time the brothers get home it is almost 11:30PM. When they enter the house, they can hear the panting, the groans, and moans. Joseph's heart skips a beat, rushing to John's room. John is gripping onto the bed sheets, sweat all over him. John suddenly starts to wheeze.
"Agh…" John says. Joseph pulls John into his arms.
"You are okay," Joseph says. "I need you to breathe, John."
"Jo…" John can only get out.
"Yes, it is me, John," Joseph says. "Jacob is here too." John slowly opens his eyes, coughing, trying to catch his breath. Jacob is right next to him in an instant.
"Do you need oxygen?" Jacob asks. John nods, nearly hyperventilating at this point.
"John, relax," Joseph says, John's body is tense and ridged. John relaxes in the arms of his brother. "I couldn't tell if this was a…did it start off as a good dream?" John looks up at Joseph blinking once. "But it turned dark pretty quickly?" John blinks once. "Who was it about? Hunter? Charlie?" John blinks once. Hunter, Joseph was glad that man was dead. "John, do you know if Logan is a part of our congregation or not?" John shrugs, reaching for his iPad. Joseph gets it for him handing it to him.
"Don't know?" John answers. He coughs yet again, Pat and Jacob rush into the room, oxygen tank in hand. "If not, a part then must have known others somehow." The oxygen mask is put over his mouth.
"Do you remember if he was ever a part of the parties or did, he pay for you separately?" Joseph asks.
"No attend parties," John answers. "Only one to do without bliss, other than Hunter. L.O.G.A.N gentle, sweet, loving, caring. Want me enjoy it. Others…their enjoyment only. He treat me like a lover."
"Okay, so you were sober when…when he paid for you?" Joseph asks.
"Yes," John says.
"Would you recognize a photo of him?" Joseph asks. John nods. Joseph pulls up a picture of Logan from the restaurant that was on their website. "Is this him?"
"Yes, him," John answers. "Faith said knew him before became Faith. Knew his sister? L.O.G.A.N my age."
"So, this goes beyond the project?" Jacob asks. "How many towns folk paid for you, John?"
"Don't know," John answers. "L.O.G.A.N has family, has to keep secret, has 2 kids."
"Is he a homosexual?" Joseph asks.
"I think he bisexual," John says. "Feel attraction toward his wife, so can't be gay."
"How…I can't believe she would allow people outside the Project to pay for you," Jacob says.
"Faith has to know them," John says. "Faith grew up here so she know many people here. With business and everything." John sighs, "But not remember a lot at parties. So messed up. Couldn't tell right from left, felt like floating, everything a blur."
"That is probably for the best, John," Jacob says. "It sounds like that was the worst of the worst." John whimpers, burying his face in Joseph's chest. "You don't have to talk about it anymore, John."
"Want to," John says. "Want to get it out."
"Okay, but I don't want you to…" Jacob says, sighing, squeezing John's hand. "Overdo it." John smiles underneath the oxygen mask.
"Oxygen off, please?" John asks. Joseph gently takes the oxygen mask off him, Jacob turning the tank off. "I wake up in a bed…" John raises his eyebrow, had Pat put new words in while he was asleep? "Dried semen all over me. In me. Not allowed to leave until have sex with her."
"She had sex with you like that?!" Joseph asks bewildered. John shrugs like it was no big deal.
"More turned on," John answers. "Loved to see me…used…and all filled up."
"I'm going to assume that is when you had to clean out the most?" Jacob asks.
"Yes," John answers.
"What does that mean?!" Joseph shouts.
"Enemas, Joseph," Jacob explains. "To get all of it out. He had to…" Jacob sighs. Joseph didn't know anything about gay sex or at least Jacob doesn't think he does. "I'm going to assume that if he knew the parties were going to happen, he cleaned out before, had nothing in his bowels. If…if he was gang raped at these parties, a lot of the time the men just pull out and switch."
"And?" Joseph says.
"They would be pulling out, switching, pulling out, switching. That can be very hard on the body. John, would these parties last all night?" Jacob asks.
"Longest party was 12 hours," John says. Jacob's face drops, apparently, he wasn't expecting that answer. "You two were scared. Not get a hold of me. When did I only said a few words. Was so sore, couldn't sit, couldn't swallow, so swollen, had hard time going. Both. Bleeding didn't stop for 3 days."
"Was that the time you said you had the flu?!" Jacob asks.
"Yes," John says.
"John, I am surprised you didn't get any infections before this," Jacob says. "Did you go to any doctors?!"
"Stole antibiotics," John answers. "Couldn't go to doctor."
"Because they would find out and then they would tell us," Jacob says. Jacob looks up at Joseph, his head buried in John's hair, he was crying. Jacob gets onto the bed pulling both of his brothers to him. That is enough for Joseph to completely break down.
"I'm so sorry, John," Joseph cries. "I'm sorry for not protecting you. For not knowing. I will forever punish myself for not noticing. I should have known."
"Not fault," John says. "Her fault. She did this."
"You are right, John," Joseph says.
"Have good night out?" John asks.
"Yes, we did," Jacob answers. "Saw you wake up and get on your iPad without the light on."
"How I supposed to turn on?" John asks.
"We could have some accessibility features put in," Jacob says. "You can just push a button and it'll turn the light on."
"Yeah, sound good," John says. "Why you watch me?"
"Because I was worried," Jacob says, pinching John's nose playfully. "So, Doc told us something just before your bath."
"What that?" John asks.
"That you remember everything from your childhood?" Jacob asks. John gulps, sighing.
"Happened after…attempt," John says. "Start having nightmares of other…events. Then, doctor ask questions and memories were so clear in my mind. Like remembering for the first time."
"I'm so sorry, John," Joseph says. "This must be so hard to deal with all at once." "It okay," John says. "Have you." John says, he wouldn't dare tell his brothers that he had been texting a deputy about his problems. He's not sure how they would react to a deputy coming over to his house to talk. He knows that they will figure it out eventually and maybe by then they won't be as weary to cops as they are now.
Across town, in an alleyway, one of John's men and a hooded figure meet.
"I don't care how, just get me into that security system," The hooded figure orders. "And make sure nobody finds out."
"You gonna give me the money?" John's man asks.
"You'll get half now, half when you give me access," The hooded figure tells him.
"Fine, give me a few days," John's man says. "You'll be able to jerk off to John whenever you want to. As long as I get my money."
