A/N I have had so many ideas over the years for little moments between scenes in Tracy Beaker Returns. None of them are long enough to warrant their own story, but I've always wanted to write them. I thought I'd start a collection here so I can write cute little interactions between characters that the plot didn't have time for
Each chapter will have an episode and a timestamp, all episodes are on iPlayer so you can refresh your knowledge of an episode before reading. Just saves me having to add the context to each one
Series 1 Episode 10: Viva Carmen - 7:17
Mike POV
I sighed as I left the living room. The kids had obviously been affected by Helen's visit, and I was no closer to finding Carmen.
As I headed towards the stairs I bumped into Tracy. It looked like she'd been crying.
"Hey, have you got a minute?" I asked.
She nodded, following me down to the office. Once there she closed the door behind her.
"I'm sorry," I said, sighing as I did so. "I was out of order with my comment earlier."
She looked down to the floor, then back at me. "You were right. I thought Carmen would be pleased to see her."
"True or not, it didn't give me any right to speak to you like that. I was wrong, and I am sorry."
Tracy gave a small smile.
"And I do understand." I paused for a moment. "I know it didn't seem it earlier, but I do know how hard this is for you."
She looked back to the floor for a moment before she spoke. "I'm sorry too. I shouldn't have let her in without checking first."
I gave her a smile. "We all make mistakes."
She nodded.
I put my hand on her shoulder and gave it a squeeze.
She gave me a grateful smile.
"Right, I'd better get on," I said. "I just wanted to check you were ok."
"I'd be better if it wasn't my turn to do the laundry!"
I chuckled. "Go on, off you go."
Tracy smiled at her joke, before she left.
I watched her go, glad I'd been able to apologise to her properly.
I then left to go and find Carmen.
