Chapter 22
Meanwhile…
Chusi was in the hotel lobby waiting for Ryomen to return. Ryoto was staying with Suiryu tonight since he understood that his father was doing something rather dangerous and it was for his own safety. Yet, as time passed, she felt something may have gone wrong. At the same time, she wasn't too worried about it either.
'Ryomen has been through worst.' She thought to herself.
"Oh… well hello there? Need a bed to stay in tonight?"
She froze to the slimy voice behind her. She turned and glared. It was the Link actor and he appeared to be flirting with her.
Chusi sighed. "If I were, I wouldn't be sharing it with you." She snapped back. "If you don't mind, I am waiting for my husband…"
His look grew greedier. "Oh? He's not here right now? In that case, let's have some fun! I know a great place in Vegas. And you know the saying, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, get my drift?"
Chusi, suddenly smiled. She began to lay on her charm as she leaned in and whispered. "Does that include corpses?" she whispered sweetly.
He suddenly bocked back in disgust.
Chusi however merely kept up her smile, and began to eye him like a meal. "What happens… in Vegas stays in Vegas you say… well… I wouldn't mind testing that out to see how far it goes… How good do you think I am to hide a body?" she asked teasingly.
He was disgusted. "You're a goddamn crazy chick!"
"I've been called worst." She said as her smile grew. "Now… A little word of advice if you want to remain alive longer… never assume you are king shit of shit mountain, I don't doubt there is a queen for you out there. But a queen like myself… doesn't want to rule over shit. And as such, I already have a King, a majestic one at that who listens and cares for me, unlike you. As such, you offer nothing, you have nothing, and I want nothing to do with you."
He sneered at her. "You have no idea who I am! I'm going to be the greatest thing in Hollywood! Your husband is a faceless nobody! No one will care about him or remember his name!"
She paused, but then broke out into a fit of laughter. "Oh he's well aware of that! He would be THRILLED if that's the case," she said between her chuckles. "He's not doing this to make a name for himself in Hollywood, no, he's doing this for our son!"
Once more, he froze oddly. "Your son?"
"He loves the Legend of Zelda. He just beat tears of a kingdom and is trying to do it in a difficult mode, but he adores this series. It has brought him and his father closer together than ever before, and I can only be grateful that it has."
He appeared utterly confused. "Your husband is just as crazy, who comes to Hollywood and not make a name for themselves?!" he demanded.
"Apparently us," she replied bluntly. "Now, how about you move along, or if you need help finding the exit, I'll be more than happy to help you."
"Crazy bitch…" he growled. He vanished out the hotel and down the street. Just as Ryomen returned.
He paused oddly before glaring down the street. "That human giving you trouble?" he whispered.
"I handled it, he tried to use that line Yua warned us about. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas? So I asked him if that included corpses," she said proudly.
Ryomen peered at her, but broke a proud smile to her. "That's my girl." He purred. "Also… say the word, and I'll eat him."
She giggled. "Don't tempt me… how did it go?" she asked, as her tone grew serious.
He said nothing more but led her to the elevator, when they were inside he said he would explain everything in the hotel room. And true to his word, he told her everything that happened, as well, squashing a threat before it became one.
"They knew of you, they had no idea who I was, but the moment I said your name… all of them knew."
She was rather surprised. "We not known among alchemists…"
"Yes, you are, for they are the few humans who were aware of your past and your blood connection to the dragons. They knew even though it was microscopic, there was dragon blood within yours. Apparently from what was spoken, a drop of your blood will ensure their elixirs were successful. The same principle goes with dragon parts. Using a dragon part will ensure whatever you are trying to make, the effects will take without problem. They were selling this, no matter the buyer… which concerned me. Had I gotten hold of this in my madness… if Kenjaku knew…"
She nodded. "What of the alchemists?"
He smiled wickedly to her. "As requested… granted the meeting place has since been turned to a vacant lot…"
"No evidence, good…" she said and yet, shuttered. "I had a feeling that was the reason why the council didn't come after us. Or had us all killed when they had the chance…"
He nodded to her. "I don't disagree with the notion, it makes sense. Knowing there was potential to benefit them… of course they would take it." He said bitterly.
"Which means we can't be satisfied with this…"
"Those who knew you were, are dead, I have the replicated one recipe book already and sent it to Calypso to read over and figure out why they had these recipes… I also stole the original copy… but…" he paused.
"But?"
"I recalled some of the oldest ones they had, the writing was too neat… pristine… all others are sloppy and done in a hurry when the notion strikes, but from what I saw with the older ones, they were tried and true methods passed along…"
"What bothers you about that?"
"The writing," he said. "The writing is from the same hand, and they are the original recipes… These weren't discovered… The pages themselves are pristine, as if time had not passed at all, these were given to get everything moving according to one's will…"
"Lady Tiamat's uncle?" she whispered.
"We'll know for sure when we return, I have little doubt Lady Tiamat is going to go over that book herself."
She sighed to this, but the matter has been dealt with for the time being. If they dare come to Japan, what becomes of them… is on them!
