Kara was enjoying her day; her friends and family would attend the game night. This game night would be special, she invited just about anyone she could think of. Kara didn't invite Olivia; she barely spoke to her. She certainly didn't invite Lillian or General Lane. She wished Jeremiah was there.
Kara was glad that Lena agreed to convert her office into a large party room; she would have suggested her apartment, but the sheer amount of people she invited probably wouldn't fit there. Golly, this would be amazing; perhaps they could play "never have I ever" so she could embarrass her sister. Yup, she would try that.
"Kara, guests should arrive shortly," said Lena, approaching her. Kara saw that Alex and Maggie just finished moving a few tables, placing several couches in the middle of the office. Alex also brought twenty, twenty! Alex brought twenty pizzas with various toppings, a bunch of soda, fries, and kale, certainly kale. Nope, Kara refused to eat that dreadful and scary grass, but she still wanted to see Lena smile. So she ordered kale salad for her lovely girlfriend. Krypto was lying on his belly, with Gertrude and Karlena sitting next to him.
"Great! Oh look, Lena, I hear someone knocking! Time to greet our guests," said Kara, walking with Lena to the office doors, opening it, and seeing Clark and Lois enter.
"Hey Kara," said Lois.
"Kara," said Clark.
"Welcome, welcome, we are going to have a blast!" Kara said, as the pair entered the office, and sitting at one of the couches. Kara was glad that whatever animosity Clark had earlier for Lena was now gone.
James and Lucy were the next two people to walk through the door, greeting Kara and Lena. They sat on the same couch Clark and Lois were sitting, only on the different side of the couch.
"Lena, Kara" said Sam, entering, holding Ruby's hand. Ruby smiled. "This will be fun."
The two of them entered the office and sat on another couch. As time went, more and more people arrived. Kara and Lena greeted Winn, Hank, M'gann, Eliza, Jess. Kara was glad that Lena invited her assistant; Lena having more friends was always nice.
"Am I at the right party?" Cat asked; she was wearing dark sunglasses; it would be funny if someday Cat ended up being a Kryptonian, Kara would tease her boss constantly. Carter stood next to her.
"Hey Cat," said Kara as Lena smiled. Kara was glad that Lena had Cat to mentor her; while Kara saw Cat as a great role model, she knew that Cat meant so much for Lena, her Lena. While Cat hasn't spoken to Lena often, when they did, Kara felt a quasi- maternal bond. She would talk to Lena about her visiting Cat more often.
Cat and Carter entered the office. Kelly arrived next; while Kara hasn't known Kelly well, she seemed nice. She certainly helped Karen deal with her trauma; Alex also told her earlier how she and Maggie told about the recent events to Kelly. Kelly saw her brother, and walked towards him, hugging James.
"Kara, look at the balcony," said Lena. Kara looked where Lena pointed, noticing Astra and Karen hover outside. Astra, Astra has come! Kara flew and opened the balcony door. Karen hugged Kara briefly and then flew to speak with her friends.
"Little One," said Astra, greeting Kara.
"Aunt Astra! Come, come, we are about to start!" Kara said quickly, hugging Astra. She smiled. Kara then flew to Lena. Everyone finally got seated on the couches; Karen, Ruby, and Carter were eagerly eating the pizza.
"Kar, what's the plan tonight?" Alex asked her sister.
"Hmm, we should play charades, trivia, possibly watch a movie, yeah, we should definitely watch a movie. Oh, I know, I know, we should play couples' monopoly. Choices, choices, how about we start with "never have I ever" but with drinking water?" Kara asked.
"Sure," said Alex.
"I think I am going to play World of Warcraft with the youngsters," said Winn, approaching Kara and whispering into her ear. "I will occupy the kids, feel free to go at it with R rated ideas."
That was certainly helpful. Winn led three kids to a large table in the corner, turning four computers, and logging into four accounts. Good, Winn would entertain Karen, Ruby, and Carter … Kara would have an opportunity to embarrass Alex. Yes, yes, she would.
"Alright, I will start," said Alex.
"But Alex –"
"Kara, you will get your turn," said Alex, turning her head towards Lena. "Lena, I love you, but you and Kara scared me several times. Count this as my revenge. I know that Cat is a mother figure to you. So, never have I ever called anyone at this table any variation of "mama" or "mommy," a woman who is not their biological mother."
Oh Rao! That certainly excluded Alex herself. Kara and Lena looked at one another, both drinking.
"Lena, wait, Kara, why are you drinking?" Alex asked in confusion. "I don't think I ever heard you call Astra or Eliza or even Cat your mother?
Kara blushed. Lena apparently was a little shit, raising her eyebrow, biting her lip, and kissing Kara on the cheek.
"I haven't called Astra, Eliza, or Cat a mother or its variants," said Kara blushing. Alex looked at Kara and then at Lena. Apparently her sister realized what Kara meant.
"No, no, why do you this to me? I am a good person, I don't need to know these things," said Alex. Rao, Lena turned Alex's statement against herself! Lena, her beautiful Lena!
"Well, I am a Luthor," said Lena, chuckling, and kissing Kara on her cheek once more. Golly! If Lena kept this up, Kara would need a shower, a really cold shower in the Antarctica under red lamps.
"Never have I ever worked for a media company," said Astra. Thanks Aunt Astra for continuing the game; now Kara could focus on what ideas she should say. She drank some water, also seeing Cat, Clark, Lois, James, and Lucy drink.
"Never have I ever worked for a tech mega company, double drinks for working at L Corp," said Cat, grinning. Lena, Sam, and Jess drank.
"Never have I ever had Kryptonian powers," said Sam, smirking. That was a good one, a lot of people here were Kryptonians. Kara, Alex, Maggie, Astra, Clark, Lois, and Hank drank since he pretended to be different Kryptonians at various points in time.
"A masterful attack, you would have been a great Kryptonian and a member of the Military Guild," said Astra towards Sam.
"Sometimes I wished I had powers, but I am happy to live my life as a regular woman, working for my friend Lena," said Sam. Kara imagined Lena becoming a Kryptonian so many times, but the thought of Sam becoming one somewhat intrigued her. Would Sam be very action oriented Kryptonian, saving people, or continue leading a normal life, and just use her superpowers for fun at home?
The group continued the game for another hour. Once done, Kara suggested them play couple's monopoly. "Okay, so we have five couples here. The rules are simple, we have eight people playing. But couples can share property; if for example Lena buys a street, when it's my turn, I can buy the street of the same color, and the two of us would share rent from people ending on either of our properties. Oh, and couples cannot collect money from their significant others," said Kara. Yes, she gave an excuse for herself to play with Lena on the same team.
Alex brought the monopoly box, putting it on the floor; the five couples sat around the board. Kara took a dog figure, while Lena took a cat, a cat? Lena had a kitty minifigure! It was even painted black. How adorable. The other people who weren't a part of one of the five couples remained sitting on the couches, observing the couples in action.
An hour later, Lena bought Boardwalk. Yes, if only she could end on the Park Lane.
Alex took a card listed as chance. "Go to jail," said Alex. "No, why, why! Maggie, tell your cop friends that I am innocent! No, why do I have to go to jail?"
Maggie chuckled. "I guess even the game knows you like wearing handcuffs," said Maggie. Kara was drinking water at the moment, spitting it across the floor.
"Maggie!"
"Ha, Little Danvers," said Maggie, laughing.
Kara moved her dog minifig six places. Park Lane. Yes! "Ha, I got Park Lane! Lois, Lucy, you pay double!" Kara said, giggling.
"In your dreams," said Lucy. Lena promptly put a hotel on both of their most expensive streets. The game continued.
Now Maggie ended in jail. "Ha, it's your turn to be in jail," said Alex, laughing.
"What if I want to be there? The question is, do I wear handcuffs, or you keep wearing them?" Maggie asked, then looked at Kara, showing her tongue. Detective Dimples certainly seemed to enjoy these things. Oh, Kara would buy so many more streets, and bankrupt Maggie. Yes, yes, game on, Kara would get the last laugh!
Clark's shoe landed on Boardwalk. He groaned. "Well, Smallville, I guess we have to pay. Clark, you have expensive tastes for a farmer boy," said Lois.
"Ah," said Clark, giving a large portion of his money to Lena.
"That's right, pay me! Muahaha, I am a true Luthor! I just ruined Superman!" Lena said, laughing. Oh Lena. She would certainly like Lena to ruin her, in a different way. Kara imagined Lena having Kryptonite powers … perhaps it was for the best Lena lacked them; the planet might not survive what they could have done if both had powers. But Kara kept dreaming.
"Earth to Kara, why are you drooling?" Alex asked.
"Lena," said Kara dreamily, before looking at Alex. "What?"
"Gross!"
"Alex! I love my girlfriend!" Kara protested.
"I know, I love you both, but just … don't be so gross," said Alex, shaking her head, as Maggie chuckled.
Hank bought the remaining green street. One green street belonged to M'gann, Hank already had one green street, and now between the two of them, they had all three green streets. The two of them promptly places two houses on each street.
Lois ended up on the "go to jail tile." "Ha! Go to jail, Harpy," said Cat, grinning.
"It's alright, you can interview Alex and I," said Maggie.
"Gladly; Perry will be interested in an exclusive on the kinky lives of Kryptonians of the House of El … although, it would be more appropriate for Clark to end up in jail. It's okay, Clark, honey, you will be "jailed" later tonight," said Lois. Clark nervously made a laugh. Oh Rao! Kara didn't need to know that!
"I can see the appeal to being this … evil. Jail, huh, that's nothing. Lucy and I have excellent life –"
Lois glared at him. Kara was glad that the kids were playing their videogame far enough not to hear this commentary.
Lucy's canon ended on the Pennsylvania Avenue. Yes, pay up to Hank, Lucy! Lucy sighed, counting her cash, and giving it to Hank.
The game continued for another hour. Lena slowly but surely bought numerous streets, first bankrupting Clark and Lois, then James and Lucy, before finally bankrupting J'onn and M'gann. Yes, Lena and her, they won!
"That was fun," said Clark.
"And team Supercorp has won," said Cat.
"What can I say, I am the mistress of money. And I am the sister and daughter of the two megalomaniacal, if I want to destroy my enemies, I will do it," said Lena, chuckling, before kissing Kara on the lips.
Eliza suggested them playing charades. Five couples formed teams; Kara then put Cat on team with Astra, Sam with Kelly, and Jess with Eliza. Several minutes later, Kara mused how Cat and Astra argued, unable to guess what the other meant. Jess and Eliza also lacked success, but what intrigued Kara was how Sam and Kelly occasionally managing to guess what the other woman said.
The games continued. Kara was amused how several teams resulted in an epic fail; despite showing a strong effort, Clark and Lois fell behind, while cementing their third place.
"Go Supercorp," said Cat, cheering Kara and Lena.
"Go Sanvers," said Lois. "I don't want to cheer for the same team Cat is cheering."
Kara shook her head. The game continued for ten more minutes, with Kara and Lena finally getting ahead, and winning. "Yes!" Kara jumped into the air briefly, before returning to her seat.
"Kara Danvers, you are my hero," said Lena, putting her hands around Kara's neck, and kissing Kara on the lips. Lena, her beautiful and smart and kind Lena, Kara loved her; Kara felt at peace.
The party continued. Alex flew to the a computer, turned music on, and returned to the group, suggesting them to dance. Kara jumped on her feet, and began dancing. Others soon joined her; Kara laughed with joy, seeing people make funny faces.
Several hours have passed. Hank and M'gann were sitting on a coach, holding hands, and not speaking; Kara assumed they were mentally communicating. Lucy fell asleep on top of James. Karen, Ruby, and Carter finished playing videogames and went to play with Krypto, Karlena, and Gertrude.
Winn went to speak with Clark and Lois. Alex and Maggie were standing in the corner; each woman kept pushing the other at the wall, before hugging and placing kisses, while fighting for dominance.
People started to leave. Sam left with Ruby, Cat with Carter; Astra put Karen in a large hug. Kara wished their situation would be different; she hoped that Aunt Astra would one day work together with her, without staying in a DEO cell.
Kara looked at Eliza. Kara would rescue Jeremiah; she would reunite her adoptive parents. Lillian, Kara almost forgot about Lillian. That woman was probably plotting something sinister; Kara felt as if it was too quiet and peaceful lately after she and Maggie rescued Alex. What was Lillian plotting this time? It would have to wait; Kara wanted to enjoy the party as long as she could.
Eventually everyone but Kara, Lena, Alex, and Maggie left. Hank took Astra back to the DEO; Astra gave another hug to Karen, before flying with Hank to the DEO. One day, Kara wished it would happen soon, one day, Aunt Astra would work with her.
Kara saw numerous empty pizza boxes on the table. It was quiet; while Kara really enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, she liked quiet moments like this. It felt very intimate, spending time with her girlfriend, her sister, and her sister's girlfriend.
Maggie put on a romantic song, turning off most lights in the room. Kara approached Lena, put her right hand around Lena's waist, while taking Lena's other hand with her left hand. She saw that Alex and Maggie also approached one another; two couples began slowly dancing in the barely lit office. Kara felt at peace, gazing with love at Lena's face, slowly moving in circular motions around one another on the floor. Kara didn't want the night to end; Lena, her Lena, she was the love of her life. Over the months Kara had known Lena, Lena went from a friend to a girlfriend, and while currently Lena was her girlfriend, Kara felt she wanted to spend her entire life with Lena. Lena, she wasn't just her girlfriend anymore, no, Lena was the love of her life.
Half an hour later, the two couples ended their dance. Alex and Maggie waved to Kara and Lena, approaching the balcony door, and flying away. Kara remained in the office alone with Lena. They still stood in an embrace, with Kara's right hand still gently holding Lena's waist.
"I love you so much, Lena," said Kara, placing a gentle kiss on Lena's lips.
"I love you too, Kara," said Lena, looking at her with love. It was only just the two of them now; Kara was looking lovingly at Lena. Kara desperately wanted the night to continue; when hugging Lena, Kara was at peace, forgetting all the problems she faced, forgetting Lillian and Cadmus, and just spending time with Lena. She could do so for eternity with Lena; the woman stole her heart, and Kara wished Lena would forever keep Kara's heart.
Kara leaned towards Lena, kissing her. "I really enjoyed this night," said Kara.
"Me too," said Lena smiling.
"I think I am going to check the city briefly. See you at the apartment soon," said Kara, finally ending the hug and approaching the window. She looked back, and waved at Lena.
"I am going to check some financial statements, and then meet you at your apartment in about an hour," said Lena. Kara nodded, flying away. Lena, Lena made her feel at peace. Kara smiled, still thinking of Lena, flying away from L Corp building, wanting to check if anybody needed her help. Lena, when Kara would meet Lena later at their apartment, she would treat Lena like a goddess, an angel with pure heart, whom she loved. Lena, her Lena deserved all the love; Kara was happy to oblige to make Lena feel all the love that Kara felt towards her.
Lena sat in her office, reviewing the financial statements. She felt a small dart hit her neck. Dart? Lena lost consciousness. When Lena opened her eyes, she was sitting on a chair in some bunker, tied with ropes. Next to her stood Lillian, holding some tablet. She saw the original Hank Henshaw holding some small bottle. "Mother, let me go!" Lena screamed.
"No. Lena, you have been a thorn in my side for far too long. It's time for me to end this nonsense," said Lillian.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Kill me? Do it quickly! Just know, that my Kara will stop whatever you are planning," said Lena. She had faith in Kara stopping Lillian. Her Kara would defeat Cadmus.
"Kill you? No. Lena, Lena, Lena … my foolish daughter, I don't want to kill you. Oh no, I want you to join me," said Lillian, smiling.
"Never," said Lena.
"Oh, Lena. You might not wish to join me, not yet … but you will. I am your mother, I love you, which is why I will break you, I will make you submit to me. Once I break your spirit, I will turn you into my minion. Once I am done with you, you will do everything I tell you. Willingly. I understand you don't have the right state of mind, not yet, so for you not interfering with my plans, I will have to resort to this wonderful Kryptonian invention called Myriad," said Lillian, smiling. No! Not again, not Myriad.
"Mother, Kara, we have stopped Myriad. You cannot turn humans into your slaves! And besides, wouldn't it affect you too?" Lena asked.
"Lena, Lena, you are wrong. I have modified Myriad by limiting its range and focusing it on you specifically. Only you will be affected; but don't worry. I am not evil, like Non. That bastard. Oh don't worry, I won't have you fight your precious Kryptonian pet. No, Lena, I have greater plans for you. I will face Supergirl, and while you being affected with Myriad, helpless to do anything, you will observe, as I carve Supergirl's heart after stabbing her with a Kryptonite sword. Lena, Lena, your pet Kryptonian will die tonight, by my hand, and you will be sitting on this chair, unable to do anything, absolutely anything. Lena, I love you, which is why, I will kill Kara while you sit there helpless. I will break your spirit, and mold you into my devout follower," said Lillian, pointing her device at Lena. She looked away as Lillian pressed the button.
Hank Henshaw tore the ropes that held Lena tied to the chair. "Are you sure that Myriad is active?" Cyborg Superman asked.
"Why don't we see it for ourselves?" Lillian asked, looking at Lena. "Stand up."
Lena involuntarily stood up. She hated herself for falling under Myriad's effects once more.
"She might be bluffing," said Cyborg Superman.
"Maybe. Lena, dear, slap yourself, hard," ordered Lillian. Lena tried to fight it, but her hand didn't listen to her. She felt pain as her hand slapped her cheek. Kara, Kara would save her. "Bow to me."
Lena involuntarily lowered her upper body, bowing to Lillian. She hated herself for having to do Lillian's bidding. When she got out … she would find a way to escape. And Kara, her Kara would save her.
"Good. Henshaw, hit her in the stomach. Restrain yourself, Lena is a fragile doll," said Lillian, as Cyborg Superman smirked, punching Lena in the stomach. For several seconds, Lena was short of breath. She wanted to cry, but couldn't; she couldn't even cry. Mother, mother would pay. "Wonderful. Lena, would you sit on the chair, and sit there motionless. I only allow you to breathe."
Lillian grinned, looking at Lena, before walking away, and looking at a large box that lay in the corner of the room. She opened the box, and looked at the sharp Kryptonite sword.
"Lillian, my men are ready," said General Lane, entering the room. "I see you secured your foolish daughter."
Lillian smiled. "We are almost ready. Tonight we destroy all the aliens of the National City. Tonight Kara Zor El dies," said Lillian, looking at Lena, laughing. "And soon, I will break your spirit, my foolish child, and you will gladly join my cause."
Kara arrived at her apartment, seeing the lights turned off. Strange, Lena should have been at the apartment. She looked around, but Lena was nowhere to be seen. Kara flew away from her apartment. She had to check L Corp.
When she arrived, she noticed broken windows. Lena, what happened to Lena? Kara approached Lena's desk, finding a note that said that Lillian had Lena. No, Lillian … Lillian would pay. Kara's eyes turned red. Cadmus would end tonight.
