Deep in the prison that dwelled within the mountain, Chase, Rocky, Rubble, Brax, and Tuska briefed over their plan. Rubble recognized the structure of the prison being an old mine, confirmed by Tuska as he remembered when he was a little kitten, he remember there being a mine that had shut down, then was bought out by the Sheriff's Department. All of them were hard at work digging with their claws, and placing whatever looked of value into a small bucket. Chase's claws hurt but couldn't slow down one bit, he wasn't a big part of the plan so it didn't really matter if he looked suspicious.

However showing weakness to these cats was like dangling a piece of meat in front of a lion, it was only a matter of time before at least one gave a sharp jab to get you to work faster. Chase felt the glace of a cat's gaze behind, the cat eyed the German shepherd before scoffing. Not suspecting a things as he walked off, Brax was right next to Chase. Brax looked to the far side of the wide mining area, across was Tuska. Clawing away with a small iron tool, he looked back to see Brax giving a gesture with his paw, a flicking gesture he could only interpret as a signal. Tuska placed down his tool and then walked to the nearest guard.

"I need to use the bathroom" Tuska requested to the guard.

"Okay, you still have that key?"

"Yep"

"Okay you know where to go. I'll give you 5 minutes tops" He said, turning his head away, ending the conversation. Tuska walked among the rock and rough stone a large metal door on the other side of the mining area, along the way he passed Rocky and Rubble. Tuska leaned into Rubble's ear and spoke softly "Now" he said, as he continued on to the metal door. Rubble's hair pricked up as he looked over to Rocky, both checked their surroundings before running off from their duty. Both ran over to the elevator platform that Tuska had spoken about, the platform had rusted stairs that were quite a decent height up. However, if Rubble used Rocky as a boost, he could reach it no problem.

However, there was one problem, the space was dense with deputies and there was no room for slipping past them. They stood there, eyeing the guard from a distance trying to act casual and as if they were busy. Brax looked at the two, almost immediately recognizing the problem they faced. "We've got a problem, Theres guards blocking the lowest platform" Brax said with a small growl.

"Oh no, How are we going to get those guards away so Rubble can get up there. Tuska cant stay back there forever" Chase replied.

"We need to draw the guard's attention, not just them, but as many guards we can. Cause some kind of distraction worth paying attention to" The German shepherd added on, Brax glanced over at him knowing one for sure way to gather the guard's attention. "Chase, When Im done, Make sure Rubble gets up there. Do not let me hold you back" Brax spoke, gaining a confused look from Chase.

"W-What are you talking about Brax?" Chase asked, right after he lunged forward toward Chase. Chase backed away slightly but not enough, it never crossed his mind that Brax would attack him, but he as wrong. The mountain dog bit down on Chase's neck and began to tug hard. "B-Brax, What are you-" Chase was surprised, cut off mid-sentence as Brax tossed him a good feet away. "IM GOING TO KILL YOU AND DANCE IN YOUR BLOOD" Brax shouted, his eyes wide and crazy like he was on a war path. He specifically wanted to yell out that part, gaining every dog's attention, more importantly the guards.

Brax stalked toward Chase, his fangs were clear and drool dripping from his lips onto the rock. In the midst of the violence, Chase looked around and saw the Dogs and Cats gathering around to watch, out of curiosity and entertainment. "FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT" A loud chant broke out from in the crowd of dogs, they craved action and bloodshed. Just then, Chase realized what Brax's intention was. The best was to gather attention was a fight.

"Brax, you don't have to do this, We could have got their attention some other-" Chase tried to calm down the Bernese Mountain dog, he knew Brax hadn't suddenly snapped, it was all an act. Being those crazed and blood thirsty eyes was a sane dog trying to help his friends through hurting them.

"ENOUGH, I'LL TEAR YOUR THROAT OUT FOR STEALING MY FOOD" Brax barked, his voice echoed through out the whole hollowed area. Two dogs that took notice were Rocky and Rubble, seeing the Guards see the pick quarrel on the other side of the mining area, quacking rushing over. "Now's our chance" Rubble said running over with Rocky by his side.

Rocky bent down and placed his body alongside the wall, Rubble climbed up onto his back just as the mixed breed sprang up his 4 legs, Rubble was now able to get up to the lowest platform with the extra boost from his hind legs. The metal creak of the platform made Rubble a bit uneasy, but he was sure it would still hold him. He ran up the rusted stairs quickly, taking more advantage of the fact all the dogs and cats were distracted.

Rocky stepped away, looking straight up to see Rubble racing up the stairs like he was being chased, The plan was coming into motion now. However not everything was perfect, the was thought that after getting Rubble up, Rocky would bled back in like nothing ever happen. However that wasn't really needed, the action on the other side of the mining area was still loud and action filled.

Rocky rushed over to the lard crowd of dogs cheering on who ever they thought would win, Pushing past a few canines to see into the center. Seeing Brax with his seemingly fixed rage on Chase, his growl sounded like a sound from hell, Chase continued to dodge his attacks each pounce. Until Brax made one more leap, Chase dashed to one side but Brax re-directed himself just in time to tackle Chase with his back to the ground.

Chase was just inches away from Brax's muzzle tip, Chase had to remind himself that it was all just an act, he wasn't actually going to kill him or rip out his throat as he threatened from before. "I'm sorry, but I had to" Brax whispered gently. His eyes reverted back to sane and calm look from before, just as a thin rope that lapped around his neck and tightened with a 'zip' noise. He was then yanked back hard by several deputies. Brax gave up without a fight, but the deputies didn't relent as they strapped the muzzle to his face, Brax gave a half defeated and accomplished look to Chase as he was being led away. "Alright, dog fight is over, back to mining!" One deputy said, whipping around his tail taser around close to the dog's face. Within seconds each backed away, except for a mixed breed who ran to Chase's aid.

"Chase, what happened?" Rocky asked, not very understanding the sacrifice Brax made. Chase didn't speak, only he continued to stare at Brax, Rocky looked to where he was looking and only did he fully understand. "Brax….H-He….He caused a distracted so Rubble could make it up there."

"Lets take him to the cells" One of the cats said leading Brax away by the pole, walking in through a door and letting it shut, not to be seen again. "A-Are they going to-" Rocky tried to find the words, but he just couldn't.

"I don't think so, He's a big dog and I doubt the guards would just kill him like that, would they?" Chase asked, Rocky wasn't even sure either. Brax had been an escapee before, so maybe the guards would look on him less favorably, but they could only hope in that regard.

Rubble looked down, he could barely make out what Chase and Rubble were doing, let alone what they were talking about. He couldn't focus on that for now, he brisk fully slipped passed a few guards on the platform and reach the large air duct that Tuska had mentioned. It was very old and he was surprised it was still in piece. Or at least more than less, the exterior of the air duct was orange and black with rust with large patches of dust and cobwebs. Rubble looked around the air duct trying to spot some easy way inside like some kind of vent or something.

There was nothing, except for a large hole that gaped into the air duct, Rubble twisted his head at the whole, thinking it should be just big enough for him to fit through, and so he did. Slowly squeezing his head inside as he pushed himself up with his front paws. The sharp sides from the hole made Rubble yelp in a pinch of pain, but quickly putting a paw over his mouth to silence himself.

"What was that?" One deputy asked, turning to his colleague.

"What was what?" The other asked.

"The squeak noise, It sounded like it came from that old air duct tunnel"

"Dude this place is as old as all hell, Probably some rat or something"

"Ah okay" Rubble heard this conversation, thankful his noise of pain was brushed off as being 'just a rat'. Although on the other hand being a little offended that he could even be mistaken for a rat in the first place. Nevertheless, he carried on walking through the large tube that twisted and turned all along the old mine. He walked what it felt like forever, it was dark and quite funky in smell. It wasn't until he placed his paw down to continue walking he felt an decline in the platform, it was a smooth slide downward. Rubble took a heavy breath in before stepping forward, letting himself slide down. He kept sliding and sliding, picking up more speed. He whimpered silently as he tried to brace himself to a stop despite his lack of light, which meant a lack of vision.

Rubble felt his body even out suddenly, the decline came to an end and he felt his body start to slow down. Slowly he could see things more clearly, it was a white light at the end of square vent, a bright white light that peered through. His body slammed up against the vent, causing it to loosen a bit. "Fun time?" Rubble heard, he looked up to peak through the vent to see it was Tuska.

"You have no idea, now stand back so I can bust down this vent" Rubble replied, getting back onto his paws and backing up to gather more force to ram the metal vent. "Woah hold on there, There's cameras all along this hallway. They see a dog like you we're both done for. Keep walking farther down until you get to a hallway that has a flashing orange light bulb" Tuska said.

The feline was right, There was too much surveillance around, they needed to be somewhere less secure for them to roam and find the explosives. "Alright" Rubble nodded, walking away from the vent and padding farther down the air duct. As he walked farther, the light form the vent started to be come less and less obvious. He was back to total darkness and he wasn't quite enjoying it much.

Rubble could sense for the life of him where he was going, Tuska had just told him to 'keep walking further', He felt stupid for not asking more questions for second. Nevertheless he continue, it was getting much darker. All he could hear was he own paw steps along the coroded metal of the air duct and his own breath as he tried to think calm bright thought. Not a lot of positive thought dwells in one's head when walking through pitch darkness.

Suddenly Rubble felt his paw splash into a puddle of….something. He couldn't tell, but it had the same consistency as any other liquid he knew. "Please be water" The bulldog hoped.

"Rubble, over here" Rubble heard Tuska's voice from ahead, Tuska could hear Rubble was nearby so he decided to call him out. Rubble could see it, the large open vent with an orange light flicker coming from it. He ran up to it and hopped right through. Tuska was surprised, springing back into the wall at the bulldog's energy. "Alright, I've done my part, Now its your turn" Tuska reminded, letting Rubble take the lead.

"Alright so….If I were a pile of explosives, where would I be?" Rubble asked himself, he stared down the hallway of doors that clearly havent been tended to in a while, It some kind of deglected room that was built but left to rot. "Was this built along side the prison?" Rubble asked.

"Might have been, I remember when I was a deputy. Colleagues that were assigned to Prison duty talked about some section of the prison that was being closed off for 'safety concerns'." Tuska stated, as they both looked around the hallway they could see the large dents and hole in the wall. Most of the damages here didn't look new at all.

"I think I smell rats here too" Rubble held his nose, the smell of the stench was overwelming too. "Rats are just an obstacle, Cant you use that dog nose of yours to sniff out the explosives or something?" Tuska asked.

"We cant sniff out everything, besides even If I could, theres so many smells here, its impossible to know where anything might be" Rubble asked, taking the first few steps downward in the hallway. Tuska followed soon as they both eyed the doors they slowly passed. Some doors didn't have handle, not because of design, but because of lack of maintenance.

"I don't wanna be in this place anymore, maybe we could try and find another way to cause an explosive. Like the boiler room, Maybe I could-" Tuska tried to delude himself from staying further in this creep fest of a hallway. He was stopped in his words as he stepped on something metal and thin. It was red with a white border that rusted heavily. The two would have ignored the discarded metal sign and walked on if it werent for Rubble's quick eye. "Wait, I know that sign on the top right, That's a symbol for explosives" He pointed out.

He was right, on the top right it was have corroded but he could make out the symbol most commonly linked with explosives. Rubble blew a large wave of air to the sign, blowing off as much dust as he could so he could read the text.

'WORK TIP: MAIN CHARGE EXPLOSIVES MUST BE STORED IN A COOL TEMPATURES SEPARTELY FROM FLAMMABLE SOURCES, AND KEPT IN STABLE CONDITION FOR WORK USE. EXPLOSIVE MATERIAL RECOMMENDED TO BE….'

Rubble grunted, that was all the was eligible for him to read, the other words were too rusted to read. "Hmmm, It says cool temperatures. So where ever they're stored, its gotta be cold enough" Tuska said.

"I guess it feels cold right now" Rubble shrugged, he felt a little cold, but not enough to notice. It felt more lukewarm that anything else. The canine and the feline continued to walk down the abandoned hallway, it was quite amazing how far it went, just the development alone would have cost a fortune and a whole lot of time.

"Tuska, What else do you know about what's going on in this place?" Rubble asked, hoping to stir up conversation while they walked.

"About the Prison?" He turned to ask.

"No, The county. You said you've been here ever since you were a kitten, so what was it like, just only cats" Rubble questioned.

"Well to be frank, it wasn't always like this. Katt County always had a few mayors in the past that never really stayed in power for long. They all didn't like dogs but it really got put to the extreme when this mayor came into power." Tuska said before carrying on.

"I was getting out of high school when I started hearing about the things he did, back then I fully supported him and his beliefs on dogs. He fired anyone that was apart of the old mayors administration, he even managed to get the old sheriff out of office"

"Doesnt sound easy" Rubble mumbled.

"Its not,in the county sheriffs aren't employed by mayors at all. In fact the sheriff has more power than the mayor so I'd imagine the mayor must have done a lot to get him to step down. Sheriffs are usually voted into power by the people, so I suppose Griffin the Mayor got Reno elected." Tuska explained.

"Reno has been sheriff ever since and he holds a lot of power. Reno does the work of Griffin when it comes to putting any of his opponents in jail, and Griffin returns the favour by making sure Reno keeps being Sheriff" Tuska stated to the English bulldog.

"You think so?" Rubble asked

"I know so, I've been around to know for sure something shady is going on behind the scenes. In fact, I'm willing to bet a good portion of the sheriffs department knows it too. They're just too afraid to actually say anything" The feline said, his head hung down knowing that the entire situation was pretty much a lost cause.

"Chin up Tuska, All hope isnt lost yet" Rubble encouraged.

"I don't think I've ever encountered a dog like you Rubble, A majority of the dogs in my life just left me alone to fend for myself. B-But you, You just really want to help me huh" He mentioned.

"Of course, We do it all the time" Rubble states before stopping in his tracks. Suddenly, he felt a cold breeze consistently flow to his paws, he felt it come from his side. Just remembering what they came for and where to find it.

"I think it's in here, Cool temperature just like the sign said" Rubble states as he prepared to push open the door. "Okay, so we find the explosives, light them all, and turn tail out of here. The smoke and chaos of it all should give all dogs amble enough time to overpower the cats make a run for it out the main gate at the top" Tuska said as the door swung open to reveal the huge storage area, boxes lay on their sides spilling onto the floor junk that was just left there to stay and collect dust.

And dust indeed it did collect, mass stream of spider webs and dirt was enough to make anyone's sinus go insane. "This is going to be difficult" Rubble said. Tuska was about to agree until a voice echoed from behind them. Their hearts sank with fear until hearing how the voice came through, it came from the PA system in the old neglected hall. Amazed it even still worked as the vibration from its use shook the dust from its frame.

"All Units, We have 2 missing prisoners. One is male English bulldog and the other is former cat deputy. Last seen on the cameras walking toward the old prison sector" The voice sounded.

"We don't have much time too" Tuska stated, brushing right past the bulldog, searching frantically each box and barrel and sealed container. "I think I found something!" Rubble said, looking over a large contained with numerous labels of warning and danger.

"I think this is it!" Rubble stated, nudging the large container gently for Tuska to come over so he could see for himself. "Stop right there!" a voice shouted from behind them, both turned their heads almost immediately to see deputies. Their tails flashed and flailed , jolting electricity with their gadget attached.
