Frowning as he pulled on the rather simple outfit that would allow him access into the Gerudo city where no voe was allowed, using the dust to dull his bright gold hair down, he looked at Zelda as she did the same. He had used their traveling time to really think on how to approach Gerudo Town, wanting to get it over with so that they could set up the meeting with Rito Village and Goron City.
There was something that they still desperately needed to do and they were going to have to do it on a time crunch. For now, they were changing to look as if they were just traveling merchants who had sent the females of their caravan into the main village from the bazaar. The men in their caravan would stay in the bazaar that was located between the village and the stable that were watching over the horses for them.
He smiled, pleased at the fact that the men were in fact hidden guards that would act as backup if things didn't go well. Seeing as they couldn't get to the village, they would wait until they were called for.
Even Impa was hiding her rather distinctive hair with a temporary dye mix that turned the silver into a light brown color, her clothes changed out for something more typical for a traveling Hylian woman. Her hair was arranged to hide her ears, seeing as they weren't quite so pointed as a Hylian's. So far, Link had pulled on a pair of simple breeches with a short dress that reminded him more of his Champion top.
He blushed very lightly when he remembered the outfit that he would have worn during the original timeline had the Goddess not stepped in. He shook his head, Zelda giving him an amused look, coming over to help him adjust the corset vest that would give him a bit more illusion of a smaller waist and an actual chest. He kept his grumble silent before he tested his movements, giving his friend a look.
"You'll be fine," Zelda assured him softly, patting his shoulder before she moved to braid his hair back into a simple braid. Link just sighed as she did so, returning the favor with hers. Impa had already arranged her own hair and was making sure it wouldn't move from its position. "You planned everything during our two weeks of traveling. We're ready because you made sure we are," she told him. Impa walked around the room that they had shared in the horse station, making sure they were packed up, and sent a smile at them.
The moment that they had stepped into the valley that led to the canyon and then to the Gerudo desert, they had stopped long enough to change into traveling clothes for women. He had made sure that he had left his champions tunic in the castle, along with his normal armor, and hid the Master Sword in the Sheikah Slate after they had discovered that it would hold things.
From that stopping point, they had only the most basic of weapons on their person, things that a traveler would use such as a travelers sword and shield. Even Zelda had hidden the slate under her clothes.
Zelda was also carrying a basic travelers bow with hunting arrows, acting as the hunter of the group, updating the meat that they would sell. Link had made sure that she knew how to use it and she was rather good with it. Impa was carrying a travelers sword, working as the 'muscle' of their caravan.
All around, everything they did was to hide their true selves.
Putting the sword along his back, Link adjusted it so that it was laying so that it would be easy to grab from behind and under his bag, before sliding his bag onto his back. He found that both Impa and Zelda were both ready to go. 'Are we all ready to go?' he asked, the two women nodding their heads. 'Let's head out then,' he said, pausing when Impa came up to him, holding a small holder and dabbing something that turned his lips a very soft pink.
"I hate to say it, Link, but your lips are a very recognizable shade of pink," Impa said, smirking at the dark look she got. "Rub your lips together. This will change your pink into something less noticeable." Link turned to Zelda, who giggled at him, having already hidden her lips behind a soft pink shade, her own lips more of a reddish color.
Zelda smiled at him. "She is correct. Your lips are a very different pink color then what most Hylians have," she giggled, watching Link blush and pout at her. "It is fine. The color that she used on you is a softer pink, more in line with most women. You're really lucky that you just happen to be androgynous," she teased. Link huffed as he adjusted his bag. The three did one last sweep of their room before leaving, finding their escorts sitting in the main area with iced melon tea in their hands. They were quite obviously enjoying the coolness of the building and their drinks.
The Gerudo woman who worked the front desk smiled as she took the key from Impa, the three bowing their thanks. "Thank you for allowing us a private room," Impa chirped, pitching her voice slightly higher. She was going for young and sweet instead of the deeper voice that she naturally had.
"Of course, vehvi," the tall woman said, her own voice like honey, smiling at Link and patting him on the head. They knew that she didn't know his gender and most likely just saw him as a young girl just barely old enough to travel with her sisters. "I take it that you will be traveling to the town?" she asked.
"We are," Zelda said, holding up the paper map as Link nodded. "We are hoping to do some trading of some of the things that we've found along the way. Fruits, meats, and stones, that sort of thing. We're also hoping to pick up a few things to take back to Castle Town on the way to the other villages too. I have a few customers who really want some of the dedicated jewelry that your people sell. Along with some of the fruits. If I have to, I'll buy from the nice woman who runs the fruit stand out front," she chirped.
The tall woman chuckled, nodding her head. "She sells the very best voltfruit that I know of, and the freshest melons. She knows where to find the best of the best. I would suggest you take a moment to stop by when you are leaving," she said, nodding her head. "For now, I say, sav'org. I will see you when you return."
The three bowed before leaving, heading down the path towards Gerudo Town. They were allowed to pass by the milling patrols with warnings to be safe because of all of the dangerous 'voes' that have tried to attack the vais' going around. Link was able to sell some of the sweet baked apples, roasted palm fruit, and some wildberry cakes. He explained, in a very soft voice, that they were nearly unsellable due to the heat anyways and since they were going to eat them for lunch right then and there, he didn't mind selling them cheap.
Once they had arrived in the village, they carefully made their way to the 'castle', where they knew that 'Urbosa' was supposed to be. Link took front, Zelda slipping the Sheikah Slate into his hand even as blue eyes lingered on the upper corner where he could feel almost a tug of awareness. He pulled his eyes from the corner and looked down as he stealthily opened the correct app, stalking up to the hidden Yiga Clan leader and holding up the slate, midnight eyes staring out from the screen.
"Hear me, Chosen Guardians of the King of the Gerudo! Hear my call and heed my words lest you be stripped of your duties!" Hylia called out, the 'woman' on the throne jerking. She shoved herself up and smoke surrounded her, the guards around the room taking a battle position. Zelda walked up and shook her head, padding over to the head of the guards, telling her to stand down, that what was about to happen needed to happen.
The smoke disappeared, leaving behind the overweight Yiga Clan Leader, Kohga, Sooga, his head Yiga Blademaster, appearing next to him as they bowed before the slate.
"Sorry that we had to do this," Link told the general, the woman smiling softly.
"You do make a good vai, so do not worry so," she teased, uncaring that the two Yiga were watching as Link blushed, pouting. "But the color of your lips? That is so wrong for your face. I do hope that it is temporary."
"It is," Link huffed. He turned back to the two and blinked before he held the Sheikah Slate out more.
"Your King, the one that you have sworn your allegiance to, is being held captive in his own body. Twisted and used, given to Demise and Malice, the last of a world long gone, his very soul is held captive. I have seen the future should my Chosen Champions die and fail in their duties, and I refuse to allow this to happen again," Hylia called out. Kohga jerked his head up to stare at the slate.
"What do you mean that he's trapped in his own body?" he yelped. "Ganon...what? What happened?"
"From what I have learned of him, the first time that he was born, his mothers twisted him to think of himself as above all when a King, much like a queen, was to rule for his people," Link said. His voice was still soft, trying not to strain his voice beyond the limits. He pulled out his canteen and sipped at the cold melon juice, sighing as the sting was soothed. While Impa still had her issues with him, she would still string him up if he did so, especially if the look that she was giving him was real.
Hylia picked up the story of Ganondorf, his mothers who would merge to become one, and the twisted part of their magic allowing Demise, or Malice depending on who you asked, to twist the Triforce of Power into something so dark instead of being able to use it for the good of all. As the Goddess had made it to be.
Kohga blew out a slow breath, the slate going dark. Link flipped it around and removed the Master Sword, switching out the Travelers sword as Urbosa walked up to stand next to them. "I will make sure to return to the Yiga's and discuss this with them. Thank you, Link, for bringing this to our attention." Link just tilted his head, watching several puffs of smoke appear around various people and spots before blowing away.
"Well now, wasn't that fun?" Urbosa chuckled, Zelda slamming into her and hugging her around the waist as the Queen greeted the group.
