The next day, King got ready with his best clothes and brought Ace with him in its scabbard for a quick warm up battle against a monster. Walking in the Association's Headquarters building, King became quite annoyed. The amount of screening and background checking he had to go through was incredibly mentally exhausting. If he does decide to go through with this he hopes he'll never have to do that shit again.
"S-Sir! It's great to meet you. Please follow me." The association worker was nervous as he could clearly feel King's threat.
'Did I leak my Conqueror's Haki by accident?' King quickly put a lid on his Conqueror's Haki. It was his strongest version of Haki, which was reasonable considering the kind of people the original King and Shanks were.
Following the worker into the room he was led to, King could recognize some of the heroes that were S-Class already.
Tatsumaki Tornado, was a short green-haired woman who appeared much younger than she actually is. To absolutely nobody's surprise she had a large frown on her face, indicating that someone had already pissed her off in the short time she'd been here since her arrival. He just prayed to any deity above that it was not him. He's not strong enough to beat her in a battle just yet.
SilverFang, or Bang as he is more commonly known among those who know him personally, is an old man littered with gray hairs and a splendid mustache in King's opinion. Although appearing frail and weak, anyone with a good eye could tell that this was a man not to be underestimated.
Flashy flash and Metal Knight were the other two heroes in the room, and while Metal Knight only bothered to send a robot, Flashy Flash was seated with a relaxed expression, despite clearly still being on his guard. He had incredibly long hair for a male, that was in perfect condition and a blade on his left hip.
Attempting to have an impact on his entrance, King activated his Conqueror's Haki. Not enough to cause actual damage to the room, or knock anyone out, but enough to make his presence very large in the room.
His heartbeat became audible at a slow steady pace, and his Haki caused the room's lights to flicker and dim, making the red glow in his eyes from its use fully visible.
Everyone could tell that this person was a monster.
"Ah Sir King! Please sit. We are about to begin the meeting imminently!" The bearded worker who had the unfortunate burden of dealing with Tatsumaki's temper tantrums in the future, quickly decided to do his job for his own safety. He would clearly not be able to survive if any of these monsters decided to start squabbling.
King obviously knew this, and had pity for him so he took his seat, the only one still available.
"Now that you're all here, I'd like to inform you of the association's rising worries." The bearded worker that had the unfortunate obligation to deal with the S-class heroes, was quick to try and save time.
"There has been a steady rise of monster attacks in recent years. Usually it would be one or two every month, rarely above demon level, but we've seen a massive change." He pulls out a chart on the holographic table that shows a steady increase.
"They are appearing more quickly, and the average monster that appears now is around demon level. There are also more dragon level threats appearing now." The S-Class heroes knew this better than anyone. They were the ones who were often called to deal with these threats.
"As a result of this, the association has come up with a plan to have you all stationed at one major city each." Bearded worker continued.
"City A, City M, City J, City E, City L, and City Z" King realizes. The cities that all the S-Class heroes here live in.
"You gathered us in that specific order since we protect those cities, while simultaneously keeping the general masses calm." King says. The other heroes are impressed with his quick intuition as they just understood that plan from his statement.
"I see Mr King. It's quite hard to keep things from you." King wondered how that name had spread already, but it probably had to do with the demon level monster he killed effortlessly on his way here.
"There is still a flaw in your plan. City J is still unaccounted for." King says as he lived in City M and the other heroes each reside in the mentioned city barring City J.
"That's our dilemma. There aren't enough S-Class heroes for that. We are attempting to mitigate that by using a higher number of A and B-class heroes, however there is little they can do against the stronger monsters that appear." The bearded worker, Busho gave his analysis on the matter, and revealed the band aid the association had placed on the City J scenario.
"I may have an answer to our predicament." SilverFang quickly attempted to place his own two cents.
"Please, if you have anything it'll be better than where we are now."
SilverFang cleared his throat and brought up the image of his friend on the association's holographic table.
"This is Kamikaze, the best swordsman in the world."
King was planning on taking that title eventually. He just has to use Ace more to gain mastery over it.
"Is this the Atomic Samurai that's been taking City J by storm? I didn't know he was S-class." He has to keep up appearances of being someone who doesn't know the future in order to avoid suspicion.
"He is! He's about as strong as me. I'll try to get him to join the hero association, but it's best if you approach him yourselves. He'll be able to handle any threat in the city, and I'm sure he already does." Bang says.
Breathing a huge sigh of relief, Busho noted down the name and thanked SilverFang for his input. "This could save us a lot of time, expenses, and most importantly, lives SilverFang." Busho looked him straight in the eye. "Thank you."
Bang gave a gentle smile that betrayed his age a bit. "Don't thank me just yet. He's a headstrong individual, so there's a chance he'll accept the mission but reject an invitation to the association."
"That's fine. We can always repeatedly pester him like we did for all of you." Busho had a small grin on his face. Tatsumaki clearly did not like it, and levitated a pen in his direction to wipe it off.
"Alright we know the mission, let's get started. We have to get things under control, and the longer we are away from our respective cities, the higher the chance of an attack being under-defended." Flashy Flash says.
Busho clearly agreed as well. "Meeting adjourned." He says.
