"Sorry, I guess I got spotted," Kitsuna walked up behind the stunned Yamaguchi. He looked at her like she was a ghost for a moment, then shook his head.

"Nah. Thanks."

"Hm? I was just kinda here," Kitsuna ruffled his hair, no small feat given the lack of height difference between the two.

"So what're you gonna do, Tadashi? More practice?," she asked, pointing in the other direction. He nodded, then took off toward the gym with the remaining Karasuno boys. She shrugged and continued onward. The other gym was more secluded, so she tended to hide behind it for breaks. She passed by the door, spotting Tsukishima inside with a few others.

"Hey, other Karasuno ginger!," someone called out. She felt a tiny bit of anger just then, but turned toward the door and pointed at herself. Kuro called her over, while the boys inside all looked over for a minute.

"What?," Kitsuna wandered over, taking her time.

"We need one more person to help out here, c'mon," he pointed back to the group of boys inside. Her and Tsukishima gave each other equally exasperated stares.

"Fine," she relented. She had some energy to burn anyway, so she wasn't up all night.

"Huh? Oh right, Karasuno's got that one girl on the team. You sure you can compete with his lanky ass?," a taller boy with frosted tips pointed toward Tsukki. The blonde looked obviously annoyed, and Kitsuna sent him a smug grin mirroring the ones he regularly threw out.

"Man, all you four-eyed Karasuno brats sure got some issues," the frosted guy commented.

"Careful, she'll fight just about anyone. Even if she won't win," Tsukki commented.

"What's that? Want me to beat your ass again?," Kitsuna got really riled up at that, and the other boys just watched for a minute wondering if they should intervene.

"Beat my-are you serious?! You faceplanted and then bit the captain! That's not a win," Tsukki challenged her, and the two snarled back and forth. Just then, a boy who had been collapsed on the floor rolled up and joined the conversation.

"What's your deal, is it that time of month or somethin'?," he asked. Even Tsukki wouldn't cross that line, and Kitsuna was sent over the edge. She sauntered up to the ridiculously tall boy, with lighter hair and green eyes, a dark smile on her face.

"Hey, Tsukki-dude. Should we stop that?," Bokuto asked.

"Huh, no. I'm not getting bit," Tsukki retorted. Just before Kitsuna could finish her swing, Akaashi and Kuro pulled her back and scolded the boy.

"Man, is the fiery redhead thing an actual thing?," Kuro laughed at his own joke. Kitsuna stirred beside Tsukishima while the other boy was given a penalty of several laps around the gym.

"What're you doing over here anyway," Tsukki finally asked. Kitsuna immediately went silent, and he knew something was up from that. It was weird enough that she was backing up Tadashi earlier. It made it more obvious that she had been skulking around this gym at night. He narrowed his eyes, and she stared straight forward.

"Hey. I know you heard me," he leaned into it, and she continued averting her eyes.

"Just walkin'?," she tried to brush him off, but he was persistent.

"Mhm. Going to find a hiding spot, right? You gotta stop doing that, we're all in trouble if you get caught. It stinks, too," he added at the end of what was a sound argument.

"Oh shut up!," she rapped her fists against his chest, but there was a huge lack of force behind it. Her face was red, and he laughed a little at her reaction.

"What're you two doing?," Kuro asked, startling them.

"Nothin. What'd you need more bodies for?," Kitsuna successfully diverted attention from that subject. They got started with a three-on-three, until the tallest of them ran out of steam again. Another team member of his came to collect him, spouting something about skipping drills.

"And you talk about us," Kitsuna muttered to Kuro. He laughed, dismissing the game for now.

"We have a couple of crazy dudes, but you guys at Karasuno. You've all got a screw loose or two," Kuro continued the conversation after they started cleaning up for the night.

"Hm? What does that mean," Kitsuna asked. She tucked away a broom, spotting a stray ball on the floor and picking it up for one last strike. Tsukishima was by the net, and she had an idea.

"Hey, Tsukki!," she called out, and the boy glared over at her. She tossed the ball his way, but it was obviously not meant for just a quick catch. He jumped up, then slammed it down into the wood floor between Bokuto and Akaashi. She flashed him a thumbs up, which he did not return at all.

"I mean, like that," Kuro pointed to where there was some small squabble over the ball and Bokuto's overexcited reaction. "A lot of you act like you hate each other's guts. Or openly try to pick fights. But somehow you're all on the same wavelength on the court. Going nuts with practice and trying to improve like crazy. It's weird."

"It's weird to want to be better than before?," Kitsuna glanced back at him with a weird look in her eye. One of complete lack of understanding, and determination.

"Well, no. I mean like," Kuro tried to find his words, stricken by that look. It was one he saw from several of the Karasuno boys on the court. It was unnerving, the level of focus and determination. Hunger. For victory. The kind that was near insatiable.

"Hey guys!," two managers entered the gym. All eyes went to them, and Kitsuna waved to the girls.

"Cafeteria's closin' up soon, so if you wanna eat get moving!," one of the girls called over. Kitsuna rushed out first, leaving the other boys stunned. Except for one, who just looked tired and somewhat annoyed.

"Damn dog," he mumbled. Kuro didn't miss that, and let out a chuckle.
