"Nekoma again," Kitsuna muttered from the side, with the other players.

"Y'know, Daichi might actually kill you two one of these days," Ennoshita leaned in between Kitsuna and Suga to offer that warning. He was expecting a laugh worthy reaction, but they both stiffened up for a solid minute. Statue still.

"Hey, Suga," Kitsuna moved fast, slamming her hand onto the boy's shoulder to get his attention.

"Yeah," he seemed to understand her thoughts without them being said.

"From today, we're taking running seriously," they locked eyes, a strange passion burning between the pair.

"May the fastest of us survive another year," Suga said. It was so dramatic, but he said it so seriously. The pair shook hands on it and everything, one hundred percent serious.

"Hey. Just stop doin' shit that ticks him off," Kinoshita chimed in.

"Ah! Yachi, look out!"

Someone called out from the court, and all eyes whipped over to where the younger manager was. A ball was flying straight for her, a stray from the intense rally that just played out. Kitsuna took off, making it just in time to block the hit. Yachi panicked hard, and thanked the girl. The other guys around the gym were all shocked by that speed. It wasn't as fast as Hinata, sure, but it was still impressive in its own right. She returned to her spot, without acknowledging the stares or Yachi's stuttery thanks.

"Yeah, I'm probably faster right now," she said her thoughts out loud. Suga cursed under his breath, but after that the two of them turned their attention back to the match.

Rallies were going longer than before, and by the end of the first set the Karasuno starters were all getting pretty tired. All but two anyway. Kitsuna was starting in the second set, with Sugawara swapping to give Kageyama a rest as well. Suga confirmed the signals again with Kitsuna, but she got two wrong so they agreed on verbal cues instead for those.

"Hey, they're almost like Hinata and Kageyama," Yachi commented from her spot by the bench.

"Hm?," Kiyoko thought they worked pretty well together, but that comparison was somewhat lost on her.

"I-I mean. Like," Yachi tried to find a way to explain it better. "Hinata and Kageyama. They're like a set. They work really well together. It's sorta like they really trust each other? Um."

"I get it, I think. They almost don't need to use signals, but it helps the others know what they're up to. They also work well with everyone else, for the most part," Kiyoko filled in the explanation's gaps. Keishin nodded, agreeing with them, though he felt like that wasn't exactly right either. There was obvious trust, yeah, but they were still working on that part. Kitsuna wasn't really one to open up, but she didn't make it too apparent when she was hiding stuff either. Giving just enough information so that people were satisfied yet curious.

"Asahi, let's go!," Kitsuna called out to the team's ace. He readied for an approach, as did the girl. As they jumped, Asahi called for Suga to set for him. In previous matches, that was what Suga would do every time. This time, though, it was a fakeout. The blockers marked him, and were left defenseless when Kitsuna rammed the ball down hard.

"Seriously, that's terrifying," Kuro taunted from across the net. Kitsuna stuck her tongue out at him, recoiling when Nekoma's setter commented about both of them being lame.

"Oh, so she's a decoy like Hinata?," Yachi asked. She was still learning everyone's spots, and what each position was meant to do.

"Looks like they're trying it out. She's intense, but not in the same way Hinata is. She's got more power than him, though," Keishin answered her this time. Kitsuna was shaking her wrist, and her jumps were starting to lag. So she was swapped with Hinata after just before match point on set two.

Sugawara made one final set, and Hinata managed to trick the blockers again. Asahi smashed through the attempted receive, and they took that set away from Nekoma. By the middle of the third set, it was clear which team had more stamina. Daichi approached some of the more sluggish members, ready to share something he'd overheard earlier.

"Hey. I heard there's a barbeque after this. Make sure you work hard," he said with a serious face and a thumbs up. Those with more voracious appetites lit up at that, starting into a sort of cheer on the side before the switch to the opposite side of the court.

"Hey, they've gotta be tired by now right?," Lev asked during Nekoma's huddle. He was definitely worn out, being among the weakest stamina-wise on the team.

"About that," Kenma pointed over at them with a weird look on his face.

"Meat! Meat! Meat!

Several of them were waving their bodies around, chanting that one word over and over.

"Even her, huh?," Kuro laughed at Kitsuna's overly enthusiastic high fives with everyone.

"Wait. I've been meaning to ask, why do they have a girl on the team?," Lev asked. He hadn't seen them play before the camp, and nobody else was shocked after seeing her in action.

"Dunno what the situation's like at their school, but she's good enough to stand on the court with the rest of them," Kenma answered. Some of his teammates were stunned by that assessment, but they knew it wasn't wrong. Not if he said it.

"You haven't been going easy on her, have ya?," Kuro wrapped his arm around Lev's slouched shoulders. The boy flinched, denying any such allegations. Kenma gave him a dirty look anyway, though he was well aware that any such sentiments vanished as soon as she was across the net from someone. They wrapped up the mini tournament, with Karasuno losing by an inch to Nekoma and being taken out. They headed outside to get in some more conditioning, before they cooled down. First up, some sprints down one of the small streets behind the school grounds.

"Alright. Line up in pairs!," Daichi ordered. Everyone took off like normal, but when Kitsuna and Suga approached the start line they had an intensity rivaling Hinata and Kageyama's.

"R-right. Ready, go!," Daichi stuttered a little, but sent them off like usual. They bolted down the street, starting at max speed. The next pair was up, charging with that same fury. That was normal for them though. Daichi went with them, lagging behind of course. They reached the stopping point, where Kitsuna and Suga were still wheezing.

"You guys were serious, huh?," Yamaguchi laughed a little at them.

"We still have a few more to go, why waste all your energy on one shot?," Ennoshita chided.

"I was faster," Kitsuna finally said through her heavy breaths.

"No, I won that one," Suga recovered faster again and challenged her assessment.

"Ennoshita's right," Daichi chided them. They jumped up to their feet, stumbling a little bit, and stood still as statues again. "If you're really taking this more seriously, you should do it right."

"Yes, sir!," the two in question shouted out. Daichi gave them a look that said he was well aware of their scheme, and as soon as he turned away they laughed nervously. Others laughed, too, at the newest development.

"Alright! We'll cut this short for today, and watch the rest of the matches after we cool down," Daichi got into position as he stated that. The others lined up, then took off again back to the school. This time, Daichi ran with the current troublemaking pair.
