"The court is scary enough, but this is like a pack of wild predators after a drought!," Yachi thought out loud to herself. She was hungry, but approaching the ferocious volleyball players was a feat far too high for her in her current state. She stole a horribly burnt piece and nearly choked on it.

"Hey, beat it dudes," Kitsuna stepped in after a bunch of guys crowded the timid girl. They meant well, but they were obviously freaking her out even worse. Kitsuna handed her a cup of water, which Yachi chugged down to dislodge the bits of char left in her throat.

"You don't gotta get better all at once, but no one here is out to hurt you," Kitsuna said something obvious to everyone else, but that shocked Yachi.

"Sorry! U-uh, thanks!," Yachi bowed hard, nearly dropping her empty plate. Kitsuna laughed and pulled her back up, then took some food off her own plate and added it to Yachi's. Some of the older boys witnessed that, and nearly burst into tears.

"Is that like, something amazing for her?," Kuro asked at their reactions. The boys nodded vigorously, and Daichi in particular looked like a proud father.

"Hey! So you can share!," Suga saw it too, and was livid. Yachi freaked out all over again, and offered to share, but she went unheard.

"Hah?! What's your problem all of a sudden," Kitsuna snapped back.

"You always steal my food at breakfast, you ass!," Suga was too upset and revealed some tasty info. None of the other boys were paying their bickering any mind though, focusing on eating up after their hard week of training.

"I can't help it, your mom's cooking is really good! Now beat it, you're scaring Yachi," Kitsuna shut him down with that and he apologized to the manager. Taking advantage of that, Kitsuna stole a piece of perfectly cooked pork from Suga's plate and ran off before he could grab her. She ducked behind one of the larger boys and stuck her tongue out at him, taunting him.

"Kitsuna, quit aggravating others!," Daichi called out, marching over to try and prevent them from making a scene. He had some questions for Suga, too, after that last revelation. The other boy noticed the captain's steady approach and fled. Kitsuna got some more food, stealing a plate offered to Tsukishima by Kuro and running away. She joined the gathered up girls, passing more food over to Yachi's plate.

"Hey, I've been meaning to ask," Yachi had worked up some more confidence from earlier and was more talkative. "There's a girls' changing room at our school, but you use the boys' clubroom. Why?"

"Yachi," Kiyoko sighed. She wasn't sure of the reason either, but that was clearly something of a sore subject for Kitsuna.

"Um. I, uh," Kitsuna had a reason. But she didn't want to share that one. She fished for something else, but the conversation lit up the other managers' interests like a wildfire.

"Huh? You mean like, you're strippin' down with them too?," the redhead manager asked bluntly. Kitsuna's face went red, and she nearly dropped her plate.

"No! I mean, no. I just, um. The girls' changing room is really far, and I leave my stuff in the clubroom?"

"At least sound like you believe it if you're gonna lie," the tallest of the managers prodded Kitsuna for the truth.

"...bras," Kitsuna mumbled something, but it was too hard to hear. The other girls egged her on, and she finally relented through clenched teeth.

"A lot of other girls have like, really cute bras and stuff. It's embarrassing changing in front of them," Kitsuna pouted. The answer was somehow more ridiculous than the obvious lie, and for a moment no one knew how to respond to it.

"Eh?! Do you not have a bra?," Yachi finally reacted, and excruciatingly loudly. Kitsuna's hand flew over the other girl's mouth, and the others glanced around to see if anyone overheard. If the boys did, they pretended not to.

"Isn't that dangerous?," one of the other girls asked in a more serious tone.

"Yeah. You're moving around a lot, y'know. Gotta support 'em nice n' tight," the redhead spoke in a particularly lecherous way just then. She moved behind Kitsuna and went to demonstrate proper support, but froze when her hands met the girl's chest.

"Eh."

"That only matters if you actually have a pair worth noting," Kitsuna growled out through teary eyes and a clenched jaw. Her hand tightened on her cup, crushing it and splashing water everywhere. The girls went dead silent, which only added more sting to the newest revelation among them.

"Ah. Sorry," the redhead apologized and backed up. They all looked depressed for the poor girl, and didn't know how to break the awkward tension that hung over them. Kitsuna stomped off, back to the pack by the grills, in silence. She spotted the Karasuno third years leaning against a wall and marked her targets.

"Kitsuna? What happened? W-wait!," Asahi spotted her first. Her head hung low, but the aura surrounding her was more dangerous than even when she picked fights with Tsukishima. There was some fruit on each of their plates, but in an instant it was gone. Kitsuna held the chopsticks to her lips as she chewed.

"Hey! Quit stealin' food! Go get some yourself," Daichi snapped at her and pulled her up by her shirt collar.

"Daichiiii! Girls are scary," Kitsuna whimpered, and her eyes were welled up with tears.

"Eh?"

That was not anywhere close to the reaction they had grown to expect from her, and Daichi let her down more gently than usual. She sank down beside them, crouched down and chewing on the ends of her chopsticks. She was muttering something under her breath, but it was impossible to make out. Daichi went into protective mode, heading toward the girls to ask what was up. Asahi blubbered incoherently between the captain and Kitsuna, who was unresponsive. Suga sighed, pulling out a tactic he was getting a little too comfortable using. He knelt down beside her in the grass, and gritted his teeth.

"Hey. Want some more? I'm almost done," he offered his plate, which had mostly vegetables on it. She looked up finally and quit muttering, but her face was in even worse shape than before.

"Suga?"

"Uh, yeah?," he wasn't sure what to do here, yet to see her in such a deflated state before. Daichi once again left him in charge, bailing when he probably didn't know what to do either.

"I'm still girly, right? Not just one of the guys, right? Hey, I'm not just big and scary am I?," she threw a ton of strange words out. It was strange, but Suga was able to piece together something from that at least. Nothing concrete, but she had obviously lost some confidence somewhere. Or maybe she just never thought about it and now realized how she was lacking in certain departments?

"I'm not really sure what happened, but," he scratched at his cheek, trying to be careful with what he said next. "You're really cool! I mean, the way you go all out and aren't afraid to challenge anyone."

Kitsuna's tears stopped flowing, but she looked even more devastated than before. She didn't even make an attempt at taking any food, so Suga knew he messed up bad.

"Cool, huh? I guess there are people who like that vibe. It's not like I didn't care or anything like that. I do, but it's so embarrassing going into stores for that stuff. I even get confused for a guy sometimes, and that makes it ten times worse. Why, God?," she rattled off a tangent all on her own, even turning her scorn on religious figures.

"Shit."
