They lined up, shook hands, did the whole bit. Kitsuna was hardly responsive at all during the whole process. She was too busy trying to catch her breath, but each one stung and tempted a coughing fit. Someone guided her to the hall, near a pile of personal bags, and she sank down onto the floor. Leaning against the wall, with a newfound appreciation for the cold plaster walls. She needed to do cool downs, they all did, but first they had to clear out of the gym.

"Sorry," she finally was able to speak after her breathing became less labored. She was apologizing in general, to the whole team or whoever was listening as they did some stretches in the hall. She meant it for real. She was sent in to fill in for Hinata. She noticed he was moving strangely but didn't say anything. She knew full well that he had been overdoing things for several weeks but kept it to herself. She knew that bodies had limits, and that things would always eventually catch up. She knew all this, yet she still wasn't able to push her own physical limits when it really mattered or make sure her teammates stayed within their limits.

"Don't worry about it," Ennoshita finally acknowledged her weak apology. He wasn't brushing her off, but nobody had anything else they could think to say either. They all felt responsible, and each for a different aspect or three. It was Tsukishima who finally made an attempt to comfort her, once they were all done cooling down and sitting down or milling about. He handed her a drink, one of the sports drinks prepared in the same old water bottles they always used. Rested it on her shoulder, to be clear. The icy cold plastic sent a chill through her, making her whole body shudder.

"That's cold," she groaned, but accepted the drink and took it from his hand. She popped open the lid, but sank back into her thoughts before it met her lips.

"Asking anyone to keep up with that freak's level is just unfair. You're better at a ton of other stuff he can't do, anyway. So let it go," Tsukishima's words reached her ears but she blinked up at him anyway. He looked away after a moment of her giving him that confused stare, face twisting into a half-snarl.

"Thanks," she grinned up at him and finally took a drink.

She peeled off her jersey, glad for the tank top underneath, and slid on her jacket. It was comfortably warm after she had cooled off under the intense air conditioning. She stretched out, scanning the area to see who was where, and took another measured breath. Then she headed down the hall, struggling with Kanji over the other rooms but eventually finding the nurse's station. Takeda and Keishin were whispering outside while some of the team was inside to check on their downed member. Kitsuna peeked inside, but didn't try to enter at all and instead turned her attention to the two men just outside the door. She tugged Keishin's sleeve to get his attention, having gone unnoticed during their quiet bickering.

"Huh? Oh," the blonde man nearly lashed out at the sudden touch, but his expression softened quite a bit when he realized what the source was. Kitsuna smiled weakly at him, then looked toward Takeda with a serious face.

"Oh, right. You wanted to discuss something after the match, right?," the teacher recalled suddenly. Keishin glanced between the two, but got pulled aside by one of the nurses.

"Yeah. Can we walk a little bit?," Kitsuna pointed down the hallway, further away from any familiar ears. Takeda tilted his head, not fully understanding her intention, but turned and walked with her toward the empty corridor.

"Um. I don't really know how to go about this," the girl spoke up only once they were well out of earshot. She stopped and leaned against the wall, hands in her jacket pockets to keep from fidgeting so much.

"What is it?," Takeda asked. He was always genuine and sincere, wanting to hear out his students even if he was worried about what they might say. She appreciated that, they all did, but now it was making things harder to get out.

"We have more time off. Planned, I mean, in case we kept advancing. Right?," she glanced at him then returned her gaze to the floor. Counting the specs in the tiled pattern to keep her nerves from taking over entirely.

"Yeah. We didn't win today, though. So we should be heading back home tonight," he answered her bluntly. She pulled a hand out of her pocket and held it to her chin, thinking hard about something.

"Right. I know it's kind of..School stuff is important and all that. And with the school and fundraiser stuff paying for our stay, it makes sense not to overdo things. But," she trailed off. Takeda had an idea what she was getting at now, but instead of assuming gave her time to put her thoughts together and get her request out.

"I said either way things went, I had an idea. So, we lost. That sucks for sure, but I think even a win would have hit hard given what happened today. I know Hinata needs to rest, too. But I was thinking, maybe we could find somewhere a little different to stay for one night? Like, really go all out. Good dinner, really nice place to bathe and sleep. Then maybe have a whole day tomorrow for everyone to get in some exploring and all that?," she chewed on her lip as she finished and awaited an answer. Takeda mulled it over, but there were some logistics that were painfully hard to work out with that plan. Namely, funding.

"Well. It would be a nice idea-"

"If money's an issue, um. I can cover some extra stuff, too. Since I'm the one pushing it. I have quite a bit saved up, and I was looking at places in the area so I have something in mind already. It might be hard to convince them so last minute, though," the girl bowed to her teacher with that final push. She was really wanting this, though it didn't appear to be for purely personal reasons. Takeda recognized that sort of persistent groveling, he had done it so many times this school year alone. He sighed, ready to cave but needing just one more nudge.

"Let's talk it over with everyone," he offered. Kitsuna stood up straight and looked at him with wide eyes. She clearly expected this plea to fail miserably, but there was something else she wanted to add on now that she knew there was a chance.

"Um. Actually. I thought we could surprise them. Um, if you don't mind driving a bit, and helping out. I was thinking I could help pack up everything and move it over, too. While they're all here still," she blurted out a little too loudly. Takeda was fully taken aback by that, and found it hard to argue against her secret plot. He sighed again, knowing that this was a pretty irresponsible move on his end. As a teacher, and as an adult in general. He gave in anyway, and gave a brief sort of explanation to Keishin before he led her to the bus. Most of the bags were already packed, and the two of them relieved Yachi and Kiyoko of their work for the rest of the packing. Takeda asked the two managers to try and keep the others busy for a while, but didn't clue them in on more than that as he and Kitsuna loaded onto the bus and pulled off.
