"What're you two doing?," Kitsuna peeked between their heads at Kenma's phone screen.
"Wah! Kitsuna!," Hinata jumped and nearly collided with her. Kenma just glanced at her before looking back at his screen.
"Shoyo wanted to check out a game. I was trying to pull it up so I could go play Monster Hunter," Kenma explained while closing out his apps.
"Whatever. I have something in the room, so let's go there and maybe I can get it going once we sit down," Kenma shoved his phone into his pocket, clearly frustrated.
"Okay," Hinata blurted out. He was either oblivious or just rolling with Kenma's moods. Kitsuna followed them to Nekoma's room, where they all grouped up against the wall. Kenma dug around in his bag, producing a smaller bag that he handed to Kitsuna.
"There. It's kinda heavy, and old. But that should work until you can get something better. I've logged all my stuff out, and did a fresh install," he rattled off a bunch of stuff that might as well have been a different language to Hinata. Kitsuna placed the bag beside her and thanked Kenma before they pulled out their games. Hinata tapped away at Kenma's phone screen for a while before he got engrossed in what the other two were doing.
"Woah, I guess he really does have other friends," one of the new Nekoma members piped up from a different spot. He was with Yamamoto, who laughed a little bit until Kenma shot him a look.
"Make sure you don't stay up too late," Ennoshita called to his teammates as he passed by the open door. Kageyama was trailing behind him, which got Hinata chasing after him and leaving the other two to their games.
After a while, Kenma noticed that Kitsuna's character was standing still for a little too long to just be in menus. He looked up from his screen and took note of several things. One, the lights were off and most of his teammates were passed out asleep. Two, something was resting against his lap that was not his arms nor his PSP. Three, Kitsuna's screen was on the floor and she was completely unconscious. That would be fine except for number two, the thing on his legs holding him firmly in place was in fact one of her legs.
"Hey," he tried to wake her up with a gentle poke to her face but to no avail. Next he went for just moving her leg, which was surprisingly heavy. That got her to move a little bit but not exactly to a better spot. He was free for now, and saved her game before turning off the handheld and placing it on the bag he gave her earlier. He returned to the mission in his game, now a solo run, with every intention of stopping once it was finished.
He did not stop after just one. The next thing he knew there was something tugging at his shirt and bumping against his leg. He looked over to see that Kitsuna was once again moving around, and this time had latched on firmly to the hem of his shirt. He freed himself again just to be grumbled at and have his arm taken hostage. He fell back with the pull she gave, and laid there on the floor for several minutes trying not to snap at her. He was getting pissed off now, but waking the whole room would have only made it worse. So he endured it for a while. The sleep-talking that kept pulling his attention away. When she ended up practically sprawled over the top of him. The occasional thwap of her hand against some part of his body. All until the wee hours of the morning when he got fully fed up and shook her awake.
"Kitsuna. Kitsuna! Go to your own room if you're just gonna roll around!," he whisper-shouted at her. The girl's eyes fluttered open and she squinted up at him. Then she sat up finally, and he let out a relieved sigh. Too soon, maybe, as she leaned into him and rested her chin on his shoulder where he sat up now.
"Rrm? Sorry, fell asleep. New mission?," she asked about the game now, completely ignoring the vibes. Kenma sighed and answered her sleepy questions for a while, trying to finish up one more mission with minimal distractions. Minimal being the key word, because the girl leaning into him and muttering into his ear was absolutely a distraction all on its own.
A while later, alarms started going off on phones around the room and other boys woke up slowly. The sun was creeping up as well, peeking through the drawn curtains. There were some glances in Kenma and Kitsuna's direction, and some whispering that went purposefully ignored. Then the loudest of the bunch woke up, and he was not letting that slide at all.
"Woah! Kenma! Lucky!," Yamamoto nearly shouted as he flashed an exaggerated thumbs up at his team's setter. Kenma just huffed and gave an exasperated look.
"Shut up, Tora," the pudding-haired boy warned with all the energy of a wet noodle. Kitsuna stirred a little bit but didn't wake up.
"This really isn't doin' anything for ya? Like, you're not bothered or anything?," Yamamoto kept pressing despite the apparent opposition.
"No. Kuro used to do this all the time so I guess I'm used to it," Kenma saved the game and got ready to shut it down. He wasn't getting far anyway, and soon it would be time to start another long day of practice matches and drills.
"So, like, this is the same as if Kuro was the one there? Even though you've got a girl hangin' off ya? Huh?," Yamamoto was not having it now. Such a lucky encounter was wasted on the gutless little gamer and it was eating him up. Before he could rant further there was a knock at the door, then it slid open.
"Seriously? Sorry," Ennoshita apologized for barging in before trudging over to where his teammate was sleeping with Nekoma's setter as her pillow. He flicked her forehead, which was just enough to rouse her.
"Ow, the fuck. Oh, shit," Kitsuna's eyes half-focused on her captain before closing again. He dragged her to her feet, scooping up the items she had scattered around the floor, and led her out of the room. He was practically guiding her along while she was still asleep, creating an interesting sight for the onlookers.
"Are they just used to that? Is she just like that," Yamamoto was too stunned to keep being jealous of Kenma now.
"Is she like a classroom pet to them?," Kenma grumbled out. He fell back onto his futon, earning a call out from the captain.
