"Ah. She did stay up late with that one Nekoma dude," Ennoshita let another unfortunate bit slip out. He was trying to explain Kitsuna's sleepy state, but the phrasing was just a little off and fully set Suga off. He started stomping over to the other corner, with Ennoshita trailing behind and trying to assuage his senior.
"Haha! You messed up big time, bro," Atsumu had made his way over and started teasing his twin. He pointed toward the young man slowly approaching with a dark glare on his face, grinning down at his brother.
"Shut up, Tsumu! I didn't do nothin'!," Osamu half-shouted back. There wasn't anything going on, but his face was flushed anyway and only made the situation look worse. Suna whipped out his phone's camera again, ready to hit record.
"Hm? That so? You sure do spend a lot o' time textin' her and talkin' on the phone. You sure there's nothin' going on? He sure seems to think differently," Atsumu kept pushing. He only stepped aside when Sugawara and Ennoshita finally made it over. Osamu stared up at the girl's boyfriend with an almost pleading look on his face. He was dripping with sweat despite his pretty long rest period and starting to feel sick to his stomach.
"Kitsuna," Suga knelt down and reached for her shoulder.
"Hey! Wake up already! You shouldn't just fall asleep wherever," Osamu hissed at her. Kitsuna stirred just then, sitting up and squinting at the last point of sound she heard. She swore she heard Suga's voice, and the boy she used as a sort of pillow definitely had silver-toned hair from what her tired eyes could make out. She curled into her knees with that, feeling confident in her assessment of the situation.
"Hm? Is mister 'we should save holding hands for marriage' getting impure thoughts?," Kitsuna slung an incredibly specific insult out along with a painfully awkward taunt. She closed her eyes and dozed off again, oblivious to the tension she just obliterated with one careless comment. Osamu and Sugawara stared blankly at each other, somehow understanding each other's embarrassment at the mixup just then. Atsumu burst out laughing while the two silver-haired boys came to a silent agreement amongst themselves.
"K-Kitsuna, uh. I think lunch is ready soon so wake up. Come on!," Sugawara managed to rouse her again and pull her up off the floor. He guided her away from the bunch in the corner and toward the door, hiding behind her in a sad attempt to hide his beet-red face.
"Shut up Tsumu!," Osamu threw his water bottle at his brother, pegging him hard in the side of the head. Ennoshita apologized to them and took his leave, chasing after his teammate and trying to diffuse the laughter of the others on his way out of the gym.
After a noisy lunch the practice games continued. Sugawara and the others joined the team on the sidelines, with Kitsuna and Suga discussing the signal for the move she told him about over the phone. She tried them out immediately after being put in, but the sudden shouting startled her teammates more than anything. She wasn't a fan of it either, so she went over things again with Sugawara between games.
"Maybe we just won't use it for today?," Kitsuna considered her options as their ideas got more and more muddled.
"Hm, it would be nice to see how effective it is in a game though," Suga frowned at the obvious but rather unflashy answer.
"Seriously? I was worried you were being all clingy and gross but you're just talkin' volleyball. Bunch o' nerds," Ennoshita groaned at the pair. Kitsuna shot him a look before turning her attention back to Sugawara.
"Kistuna," Yamaguchi got her attention and pointed at the bench, where she was being called over. She discussed something with the coaches then got ready to go out on the court.
After the rest of the long practice games, Karasuno's members split up between personal practice and milling about with the alumni who were still hanging around. Kitsuna noticed Keishin and Sugawara were gone, and was still avoiding Daichi just in case there was any lingering ire. So she headed for the showers a little early, enjoying the time to herself there. When she dried off, despite knowing better, she checked in the large mirrors for any sort of marks that might have been there.
"Kitsuna? Are you in here?," Yukie's voice rang out suddenly, making Kitsuna gasp and drop her towel.
"Sorry! Yeah, thanks!," she called out to the manager in the doorway while scooping up her towel. She quickly finished up and headed for the dining hall. Kitsuna ate quickly then started to leave, lost in thought. She barely covered a yawn and ran into something hard, making her stumble backward and blink up.
"Oh!"
"Dude, watch where you're goin'," Kitsuna looked up at one of the Miya twins with a tired expression. She glanced around to gain her bearings, smelling a range of soaps and feeling a wave of steam as the door beside them opened and Suna stepped out. She decided that she had ended up back by the bathing areas, probably out of habit.
"Eh? You ran into me, though," Osamu whined back, earning an even more exasperated glare from Kitsuna.
"Dude, are you pickin' a fight now?," Suna prodded Osamu's shoulder, making him tense up. Kitsuna took that opportunity to take her leave. She stepped around the two boys, but felt something pull her back by the collar of her shirt and stopped dead.
"What? Fine, sorry! Lemme go," Kitsuna whipped around ready to throw blows, but the other two looked startled by her reaction so she eased up a little.
"Sorry. Um, your hair," Osamu pointed at her frizzy hair, still half-damp and clumped up in spots where the curls were a little more tangled.
"Hm?," Kitsuna wasn't following. Suna turned around and placed a hand on Osamu's shoulder, letting out a small sigh.
"His family runs a salon. He can get kinda sucked into that sometimes," Suna offered an explanation.
"Okay," Kitsuna still wasn't sure what that had to do with her, but she instinctively looked for an exit. Kenma left the showers just then, and she locked on to her target.
"Ah! Kenma, I was meaning to ask you about something," Kitsuna grabbed his arm and stopped him from slipping away. She tried to pull him into a conversation about the computer, but he was very clearly annoyed at getting pulled into her escape plans.
"Oh, you too! This works out. Hang on," Osamu rushed off, leaving Suna on damage control while the other two weighed their options. The silver-haired boy returned before they could decide, though they at least got the conversation moving about their stream plans and setups. They headed for the Nekoma room, Kitsuna stopping for a moment in Karasuno's to grab the laptop bag. They settled down in the corner, Kitsuna plugging the laptop in so Kenma could show her around the desktop and other programs.
