"Oh, right. You said you didn't have any food here. What's for breakfast?," Kitsuna switched gears immediately once they were back at the dorm room. She sneezed twice, now that she wasn't in a do or die scenario where she might drop an exceptionally angry spider.
"I forgot to stop at a convenience store last night! My bad. Wanna head out for something to eat?," Suga apologized hard. Kitsuna waved it away and let out a yawn, along with a long stretch.
"Sure. Eating out a ton's gotta hurt the wallet though," she delivered a blow he was hoping she wouldn't just then. Kitsuna was unfazed though, scooping up one of her bags and rifling through it for a change of clothes. She got stuck for a while, still staring at the clothing held in each hand even after Sugawara was dressed and ready.
"Hm? Why'd you bring your practice clothes?," he leaned over her shoulder to inspect the items she was busy scrutinizing.
"Well, I thought I was going to Ukai's place. Would've had some time to practice there. He's got a net in his yard, and a bunch of neighborhood kids come to practice," she explained that pretty concisely. She sighed and dropped her arms, peeking back at Suga.
"Do you have a ball? I guess I haven't bothered to ask if you still play or practice."
"Hm? No, I don't have one. I'm not sure if the gym is open, either. A lot of people went home for the holiday break," Suga flustered slightly despite her lack of reaction to their proximity. He was a little disappointed by it, too. Kitsuna mulled something over in her head, choosing the tights and shorts combo to wear with her hoodie and jacket combination. She went to get changed, returning a moment later and picking up her phone. She sent a couple messages out and slid it into her pocket.
"What's that about?," Suga asked, not getting a response.
"Let's go. Oh, wallet. Okay, now I'm ready," she looked up to see Suga's face twisted into an intense pout. She went through a wave of emotions in the span of just a few seconds. Shock, confusion, mild irritation, then an overwhelmingly warm and fuzzy one. She moved over to him, pinching his cheeks and pulling them apart until his face was stretched to its limit.
"C'mon. What's with that reaction? Am I supposed to be all flustered and cute like that all the time? Let's go. I'm hungry," she released his face, leaving red marks on his cheeks that he rubbed with one hand. Before he could give her another dirty look, she snuck in a quick peck on the lips and spun around on her heel. Straight for the door.
"I'm gonna go get something myself then. Not sharing, either," she opened the door and stepped out into the hallway with that declaration. Sugawara followed behind her but found her standing still as a statue just outside. Locked into a stare-down with another college student, one of the few remaining on campus for the break.
"Hey," the other young man spoke up finally. He noted the face of the boy in the door behind Kitsuna, and the look of abject terror on his face. He practically pleaded with his eyes for the other student to turn the other cheek on this one.
"You're not a student here, are you? I mean, not a dude right?," the other guy directed his questions at Kitsuna and earned a hard glare. The discrepancy in facial reactions from the pair was pretty entertaining to say the least.
"Hah?! What kind o' rude ass-!"
"Right. If we could just keep this quiet that'd be great. She's just visiting. Just visiting for the day," Suga clamped his hand over his riled partner's mouth and gently restrained her. She struggled against him but settled down quickly, keeping her irritated glare pointed straight at the other guy.
"Right," was all he could say at that insistence. It was a desperate sort of plea, a quiet agreement among men. He decided he wouldn't say anything around the RA, but he definitely wouldn't be letting this juicy tidbit slip away. He nodded and gave a curt wave before heading down the hall for his own room.
"You didn't have to do all that!," Kitsuna complained at him all the way out of the building and to the edge of campus.
"And I'm telling you to keep it down at the dorm!," he griped right back, reaching his limit.
"Well, what was that? Dude was rude, anyway," Kitsuna relented with that, to his relief. He let out a sigh, a breath he had been holding in for a good while now, and relaxed his shoulders.
"Well. My roommate knows and is fine with it. He went to stay with family anyway, but..if the RA finds out, or anyone else. I'm dead," Suga offered an explanation that left Kitsuna with a few more questions. She was too focused on scoring her next meal to worry about it now, though. They settled on some fast food, choosing a table away from the windows to eat. Kitsuna's face lit back up as soon as she chomped down on her burger, right when her phone buzzed nearly off the side of the table. She caught it just in time, flipping through the messages and replying lightning fast.
"Okay. What're you up to?," Sugawara wasn't letting her back out this time.
"Hm? Oh," put the phone on the table and slid it over so he could read what was on the screen. It was a series of messages between different people. Kageyama, and two names he recognized from another school. One located right here in Sendai, and a hard rival to Karasuno's volleyball team.
"Kunimi? When-"
"When I had to help Hinata with the training camp last year. You said the gym's probably not open on campus, and Seijoh isn't as closed-off as Shiratorizawa. According to Kageyama and Hinata at least. I wanted to see if we could use the gym a little, if you didn't mind running some drills with me. Looks like we have the okay," Kitsuna gave a speedy run-down of events through mouth fulls of food. She wolfed down her food and stole a few fries from Suga while he was processing all of that and reading through things on her phone.
"Huh. Okay, sure. I guess that solves a few issues at least. You really wanna practice with Seijoh though? Or while you're on break? Unless things have changed a ton, you don't get a lot of breaks normally," Sugawara put her phone back on the table. He quickly ate the rest of his food before she could sneak any more away.
"Do you wanna go from here? It'll be good to warm up while they're doing their drills if anyone's there. Oh, I guess you don't have any of your stuff," Kitsuna was trying to be considerate, but it was obvious she was raring to go. Suga just laughed at her barely contained eagerness, catching the bug as well and thinking about some things to try.
