"Well? You came here to stop me, didn't you? Step right up." Super Neo Metal asked.
"I'm gonna kick the smugness right outta you, Metal!" Sonic said. "As soon as I figure out how…" she muttered.
"An upgraded Metal Sonic and he's 'Super' too?" Knuckles said. "That's cheating!"
"Such a disappointing choice of last words." Super Neo Metal said and shot at them but they dodged.
"Knux! Secure the Master Emerald so he can't draw power from it! I'll keep him busy!" Sonic said.
"Are you nuts?! He'll crush you!" Knuckles said.
"Only if he catches me first!"
""If"?" Super Neo Metal said, banged them to the ground then each others heads together and electrocuted them.
"I thought you were going to distract him?" Knuckles said.
"Just getting warmed up, that's all." Sonic said.
'I hope everyone else is doing better than us right now…' she thought.
Meanwhile.
"Nnngh! Cover me! I'm gonna turn their bug guns against them!" Tangle said and Whisper threw something and aimed a shot hitting the robots. "Woo!"
"We're not making a lot of headway!" Tails said.
"But we're not losing, either! Keep it up!" Amy said.
"We need to work smarter, not harder! I've got a plan! Cover me!"
"Resistance! Form up on Tails! He has a plan!" she said. "Blaze! Are you doing Okay?"
"I'm holding my own. I'll join you all soon." Blaze said.
'The enemy can't harm me on this form, but they can slow me down.' she thought. 'I can only maintain it for so long...' she thought. '...And I'm running out of time.' she thought. 'I have to finish my part of the plan- now.'
"I must be careful not to harm the island." she said and aimed a shot destroying the plane. "It is done... And so am I..."
Meanwhile.
"Just follow your dreams wherever you go! You're perfect in every way!" Eggman sang as the kids played around. "I love to construct and make things that go! There is no optical that stands in my way!" he sang. "I am-"
"Eggman?" someone said and he turned around.
"Oh! Gracious! You startled me!" he said. "No, no, I get that a lot. But my name is Mr. Tinker." he said. "Y-you're welcome to com in. The only price for admission is a s-smile!"
"Uh-huh. The doc said you might be a little ''off''. You're coming with us, old man."
"I-I'm not sick though..."
"You thought you had a chance in the matter? That's funny."
"No! Put me down! Help!"
Back on Angel Island.
"I can only hold so much at a time, y'know!" Silver said holding back robots with his powers.
"Just a second! Just a second!" Tails said. "And- ignition!"
"Hey! Watch where you're flying!" Tangle said while they all got away.
"Good idea. A little more of a heads-up would've been nice." Rouge said.
"Well, he was practically raised by Sonic and she's not known for her patients..." Amy said. "Ha! Looks like we didn't need Shadow's help after all!"
"I'm still going to chew him out for bailing to do his own thing."
"Good! I mean- why?! We had a plan!"
"And did a very good job implementing it." Rouge said and Amy sighed.
"Where is he?"
"Knowing Shadow? Seeking out the strongest threat he can get his hands on."
"Well... I guess Sonic and Knuckles having back-up isn't a bad thing."
"Mm. Provided they don't trip over themselves trying to show each other up."
"Woo! Made it!" Tangle said.
Meanwhile Sonic and Knuckles were with Super Neo Metal Sonic and Sonic aimed a punch.
"You almost made it this time." Super Neo Metal said and punched Knuckles. "I am disappointed. Truly. You're defeated, and I didn't even need to unleash my final form-"
Suddenly Shadow appeared punching Super Neo Metal.
"Shadow?!" Knuckles said and Super Neo Metal became back to Metal Sonic.
"What...?" Metal asked and Shadow punched him again and again until Sonic stopped him.
"Wait! He'll copy your biodata!" Sonic said.
"So? It wouldn't be enough for him to transform." Shadow said.
"He'd still get your powers and become that much stronger!"
"Tch. Afraid?"
"OK you know what?"
"What?"
"You've been ignoring me and left so we're done!"
"Fine!"
"Move so I can get the Master Emerald!" Knuckles said shoving them away.
"Hhm-hhm-hhm-hhm! Did you not hear, Shadow? Or merely forget? Dr. Eggman updated me to this form." Metal said. "He removed that pesky limitation you counted on. You have given me the final piece." he said. "All I need is Sonic's biodata... your biodata as the Ultimate Lifeform..." he said. "...And the Master Emerald itself!"
"Way to go Shad. Thanks for all the help." Sonic said.
"This isn't over!" Shadow said.
"Yeah! He's right there! We can get him!" Knuckles said.
"Uh... guys? I thing a tactical retreat is in order!" Sonic said.
As the Mater Emerald started disappearing they ran.
"Well... on the bright side, you've got you shrine back." Sonic said.
"What now?" Shadow asked.
"The Master Emerald has been cut off from Angel Island!" Knuckles said. "Without it's power, we're all going to fall into the ocean!" he said as Angle Island started falling.
"Now, Sonic, my loathsome copy! Bow before your Master Overload!"
'Shit.' Sonic, Knuckles and Shadow thought.
