Kara and Alex were walking through the forest; they haven't found anything yet to resolve the mystery.

"We should explore things together more often," said Alex, taking a few more steps through the woods.

"Yeah. I never could understand how Kal works all alone. Us together, we can solve anything," said Kara. While the circumstances of the investigation were depressing, Kara liked working with her sister. If she ever became a superhero, Kara would've wanted to somehow work with Alex, together. And while the killer evaded them, Kara knew that together they would solve this case.

Kara walked on the ground, looking around. She likes the forest; there were so many small creatures living there. Kara grew up in a very urban area of Krypton; this much nature was around them felt nice.

Kara walked, noticing a small pile of stones and dirt. She stopped, looked down; images of a laptop appeared before her. "Alex, Alex, I think I found something," said Kara, sitting down, and clearing the stones and dirt, revealing a laptop.

"A laptop. Kara, it's dangerous, don't touch that thing," said Alex.

"Aww. I can check it for any viruses or dangerous programs. I know we still haven't found anything about Kenny; this laptop is another mystery we could solve before resuming working on the Kenny's case," said Kara. Laptop in the woods? Why was it even here? Has someone lost it.

"Fine. Kara, I am just … worried," said Alex.

"We should be careful, but I believe I can bypass any dangerous thingies. We will be fine," said Kara, smiling. "Please?"

"Okay, okay, but please be careful," said Alex. Kara nodded, lifting the laptop.

The sisters returned to their house, soon entering their bedroom, sitting on Kara's bed. Alex found a matching charger, plugging the laptop in the outlet, while Kara opened it, waiting for it to charge up a bit.

"I am in," said Kara, looking at the screen. She immediately saw several folders named for classes. Kara checked who the laptop belonged to. Kenny. Kenny? "Alex, this laptop belonged to Kenny."

Alex sat next to Kara. "Maybe Kenny found something before someone killed him. Maybe he wanted to hide the evidence in the woods," said Alex. Kara nodded; this seemed logical.

"Okay, let's look," said Kara, looking through several folders. She managed to open Kenny's email, seeing two rather odd emails; the first mentioned how Kenny knew something about Jake, and the second mentioned having proof to Mister Bernard. Huh.

"Why did Kenny send an email to Jake?" Alex asked. Kara clicked on the email, briefly looking at the exchange. "Jake does drugs, and Kenny found out."

"That gives Jake a motive," said Kara, clicking on the other email; her eyes opened wide. Their teacher, Mister Bernard was kissing one of their classmates.

"Is that Josie?" Alex asked. "Oh no, that's definitely bad. Mister Bernard is new, but he is still like what, twenty five? Thirty? How could he take an advantage of Josie?"

"Kenny found out about this too. Hmm, which of them killed Kenny? Could they have collaborated? Kenny clearly had dirt on both of them," said Kara.

"We should split up. Ask Jake, but ask him somewhere public. I know he won't be able to hurt you, but I don't want you to risk revealing your powers. Yeah, talk to Jake, I will ask Josie about the kiss," said Alex.

"We will find out which of the two of them killed Kenny," said Kara, putting her hand around Alex's shoulders.

Next day Kara went straight to the boys' locker room, and cornered Jake. He initially was confused why Kara was even there, so Kara decided to hit the locker door. In his frustration, Jake admitted to doing drugs, and cursed Kenny for learning about it, but he didn't seem to have killed him. Hmm, perhaps he was a good actor, but for now Kara's gut was telling her that while Jake had drugs, he hadn't actually killed Kenny. Maybe Alex had better luck.

Kara met with Alex at lunch. Alex seemed to be fuming. "Kara, I can't believe it! Josie, I thought she was a friend. But no! When I asked her about the kiss, she at first denied, then ripped the photograph I've shown her, and then told me to keep quiet. She is sixteen! Mister Bernard is like a decade older! I can't believe her; Josie now doesn't want to talk to me anymore," said Alex. Sighing, and sitting next to Kara.

"At least we found out about Jake and Mister Bernard doing bad things," said Kara.

"That is true," said Alex.

"Alex, we will find the person who killed Kenny. We did find about these two jerks. Perhaps we should search the laptop for more evidence," said Kara.

"Sounds good, it's just … I am so mad right now. Argh, and here I was, helping my friend Josie deal with this creep of a teacher, and she didn't want to hear about it. It's … it's so frustrating. We are trying to help people, and end up antagonizing people we thought to be friends. It feels surreal, we shouldn't have to do this work; why is the police not helping? Why has the Sheriff still haven't caught the perpetrator? Argh," said Alex, as Kara put her hand on Alex's shoulder.

"Alex, we will solve this mystery," said Kara.

"Yes, yes, I know, but … why is everyone else so useless? I swear, I would have done a much better job than our Sheriff. Hmm, perhaps I should become a cop, a detective even. I would solve these cases so much quicker," said Alex.

Her sister would have been a great detective, but Kara just didn't see it. She knew that Alex was tough, and could fight people, but solving crime? While Kara had superpowers, Alex always tried protecting her. Kara wasn't sure if she could see Alex working in solving crimes, but she could see her sister somehow working somewhere protecting and defending people.

A tear escaped Kara's eye. "Oh no, Kara, please don't cry, I didn't mean to scream at you. I am just frustrated," said Alex, hugging Kara.

Kara chuckled. "No, Alex, I knew you didn't direct all your anger towards me. I understand this situation is frustrating, but … I am not crying because of what you said, I am crying because of what could have been," said Kara. Astra.

"Kara?" Alex asked.

"My aunt Astra was one of the two generals on Krypton," said Kara.

"Yes, I remembered you telling me about her, about your entire family," said Alex.

"Aunt Astra; she never met you, but I feel … if she were still alive, if I could see her just one more time, she would be fond of you, Alex. She was one of the leaders of the Military Guild on Krypton. I am not sure why, but mother banished her. But I know, Aunt Astra might have made a mistake, but she was a good woman. I loved my aunt. If you lived with me on Krypton, heck, if you even met her one day on this planet, she would no doubt think of you as her family. The two of you are protectors; you could have talked about so many things with her," said Kara. Another tear escaped her eye. "And no all my biological family is gone."

"Kara. Your Krypton family is gone, including Clark; I still can't believe he just abandoned you. But Kara, no matter what you face, you have me," said Alex, hugging Kara once more.

"I have you, my dear sister of the House of El," said Kara, also hugging Alex. If only Alex would become a Kryptonian.

"El Mayara," said Alex.

Kara cried again; this time, happy tears of joy escaped her eyes. She might have lost her biological family, but Kara had Alex. Kara knew that the two Danvers sisters were the last remaining daughters of the House of El; Alex might have been a human, but she had the second best understanding of Krypton's culture, history, and science, second only to her. Compared to Alex, her cousin Kal had no idea what he talked about Krypton when he occasionally texted Kara about their shared culture.

The sisters broke their hug. "I am still mad, but not at you, Kara. I will never be mad at you. But I … I thought Josie was my friend. I need … after school, let's go for a walk; I need some fresh air," said Alex.

Kara nodded. "Of course," said Kara.

When school ended, Kara and Alex went for a short hike through the woods. Their investigation could wait, for now Kara had to be there for Alex. First Vicky left Alex recently, now Josie didn't want to be her sister's friend … poor Alex; nothing else mattered to Kara at this point, only the need to comfort her sister.

The sisters walked in silence, Kara's right arm around Alex's shoulders. Their movements were slow; while Kara wanted to find more information on the laptop, she knew that Alex needed this … her sister needed to calm her mind, her sister needed to go slow, letting of her worries, and Kara would be there for Alex.

The sky began to darken. They were walking on the bridge; Kara saw a river a hundred feet below them. It was a tall bridge, perfect for her to jump off and fly to an adventure; Kara knew she couldn't do that, but she could always hope about one day flying in the open, just like Kal did.

Kara heard a car speeding up, driving behind them. "Alex!" Kara screamed, pushing Alex to the side, also falling. They seemingly fell, Kara grabbing and holding Alex in her arms, as the car continued driving quickly, soon disappearing from sight.

"Kara! You saved me," said Alex, as Kara flew up and landed on the road.

"It's not safe here anymore. We need to return home," said Kara.

"Agreed. We should continue our investigation, and find concrete proof about the creep who just tried to kill us. Kara, have you seen who just tried to kill us?" Alex asked.

"No, I was worried for the car to hit us, so I pushed us off the bridge. But we will find this person," said Kara.

"They know about our investigation," said Alex. "It must be either Jake or Mister Bernard."

Kara nodded. She lifted Alex, and flew in the air, flying towards a dark alley in the town, landing. Kara knew she wasn't allowed to fly, but she had to get Alex to safety in case the psycho returned and tried to attack them once again. Kara didn't care if someone found out about her secret; Kara knew Alex was protective, and defended her, but Kara was strong. In times like this, it was her turn to protect her sister. Kara was a scientist at heart, but she still had a drive to protect her sister. Aunt Astra would have been proud.

Kara and Alex existed the dark alley, and then walked quickly to their house. They had to find out just who tried to kill them. They would bring Kenny's killed to justice. And they would do it together.

Kara and Alex returned to their home. Eliza left a sticker note; it mentioned Eliza driving to get some groceries. Good, they had their home for just the two of them; Kara and Alex would find out the truth.

Kara stepped in the living room, opening her eyes widely. No, it was not possible.

"Jeju? How are you alive? I … I missed you mama," said Kara, running towards the woman who had to have been her mother. She didn't care how, but her mother was alive.

"I am sorry, but I am not your mother," said the woman.

"Who are you?" Alex asked.

"I am just an agent working to protect our country. I must have one of those faces," said the woman.

"Jeju," said Kara, crying. "Alura!"

"I am sorry, but I am not this "Alura" you speak of. I am sorry, Kara Danvers, but I've never met you before," said the woman.

"What are you doing in our home?" Alex asked. "Get out!"

"I will, Miss Danvers," said he woman.

"Mama," said Kara, tears escaping her eyes. Alex approached her and hugged Kara. Her jeju was gone, but Alex was there to support her.

"I am sorry, Kara Danvers, but I am not her. I am deeply sorry. I came here to warn you," said the woman. Kara raised an eyebrow. "I work for a secret agency. I will be frank, I know about you being like Superman, Kara Danvers. I know about Krypton, and its two survivors. I came here because I heard about you two investigating some crime."

"Someone killed our friend Kenny," said Kara.

"We need to find who did that," said Alex.

"That person will face justice, eventually, but it's not safe for either of you to solve crimes. Not this, not others. Kara Danvers of Krypton, please promise me that you wouldn't go search for that criminal. You have an opportunity to live a normal life; you have your sister. Kara Danvers, you might hail from the planet Krypton, but you are a human now, a human with these powers. Please stay safe, both of you. Kara Danvers, you are a human, please act like a human. People will solve this crime, others will fight other criminals, but you … you have to keep safe," said the woman.

"Jeju," said Kara, more tears escaping her eyes. She looked at the woman who was almost like a carbon copy of her mother. "Jeju, I will stay safe."

"Stay safe, girls. Now if you please excuse me, I have work to do, people to protect," said the woman, exiting the house, and leaving Kara and Alex all alone.

"Alex, I know she told me that she wasn't my mom, but … jeju, she looked so much like my jeju," said Kara, crying, putting her head on Alex's shoulder.

"I've got you, Kara. I think, I think perhaps the woman was right. It is too dangerous for us to solve crimes. Let's just solve this particular case, let's bring Kenny's killed to justice, and after the two of us could live a normal life. It must hurt, I can't fathom what you are feeling right now, Kara, but I will be here for you. You are my sister, and we will get through this, together," said Alex. Kara smiled. She loved her sister. Alex was a human, and yet she was also her sister, her true sister; no matter what anyone told Kara, she would always see Alex as her sister and a fellow daughter of the House of El.

"I love you, Alex," said Kara.

"And I love you too, Kara," said Alex.

"We will face struggles in the future, but we will do it together. You and I, we are sisters, and nothing would shatter our family," said Kara.

Alex smiled. "We are sisters. I think this woman who visited was correct, perhaps we should get all the evidence to the people who are supposed to solve these crimes. Kara, I am going to talk to the Sheriff about what we already have," said Alex.

"And I will tinker with the laptop; we for sure should be able to find just who killed Kenny. Once I find who did it, I will meet with you, and give the evidence to the Sheriff," said Kara. Alex smiled.

"Come here," said Alex, moving her arms in different directions. The sisters hugged, standing close to one another for several minutes, before ending the hug. Alex took a few steps to the door. "I will call you if I find anything."

Kara smiled. "I will call you too, Alex. Yesterday, we found dirt on both Jake and Mister Bernard … I could have searched all computer's files but didn't. I felt we had enough evidence on Jake and Mister Bernard. I was wrong. Don't worry, Alex, I will find who did it. Soon, we will bring that creep to justice," said Kara. Alex smiled, waved to Kara, and existed the house.

Kara entered the kitchen, heated up two large pizzas they kept in the fridge, poured some tea, and quickly consumed both pizzas. Nice. Kara burped. Not nice. Kara laughed, stretching Good, she just had a large meal, and was ready to solve this mystery.

Kara went to their bedroom, put the laptop on her bed, connected it to the printer and to the outlet, and opened the laptop. Time to find out who killed their friend. Kara sighed, she felt a bit rusty doing some advanced computer science. It was okay; Kara could easily go through all the files. Perhaps she would need half an hour; she was rusty, afterall, but she could decrypt all the secured files, and find out the truth.

Kara opened all easy to open files, but then hit a few walls. She smirked, putting her fingers on the keyboard, and doing several tricks she knew back on Krypton. She typed, and types, and typed for a few minutes. All the files on the computer began to open. Kara smiled. Yes, she got it, she was the daughter of the House of El. She would have been in the Science Guild if she were still on Krypton. Kara stretched, and then began looking through numerous files.

Kara clicked on one photo and froze. No, why was there an image of Sheriff Collin with some people and large bags full of things. Oh no. Sheriff Collin was the killer. Alex! Kara looked at her phone, and promptly dialed her sister's phone. She had to warn Alex.

"Kara," Alex said on the phone. Good, Alex was alive and well.

"Alex? Where are you? I just saw the pictures. One of them has Sherif Collin. I think he is a part of a drug deal or something. The time stamp shows the day Kenny died. Alex, please get back," said Kara on the phone.

"Okay, just tell mom I will be home soon," said Alex, ending the conversation. Mom? But Alex knew that Eliza wasn't back home yet. Something was up. She had to track the phone; something was fishy.

A minute later the phone rang. Great, Alex was calling her again, Kara wondered why Alex was acting so strange. "Alex, you have to get back," said Kara.

She heard Alex scream. "Kara, the stadium, he is here," said Alex, as the phone call ended. Oh no. He. The Sheriff knew about their investigation. Kara approached the window, taking off her glasses. She told the woman who visited them she wouldn't use her superpowers, she promised Eliza not to use her powers, but this? Alex was her family. Kara would reveal her secret to the world if it meant to keep Alex safe.

Kara put the glasses on the nightstand. 'Screw it," said Kara, opening the window, and flying to the stadium. She would safe her sister, Alex, she was her family, her sister of the House of El.

Kara sped up. She could sense Alex's heartbeat. She was getting close. The heartbeat began to beat faster and faster. Alex was in danger! Kara pushed herself, she tried flying faster and faster.

Kara saw the stadium in the distance. She soon would demolish the walls and rescue her sister, consequences and secrets be damned. Alex was her sister. Alex was her fellow member of the House of El. Kara couldn't lose Alex; they were family.

As she was about to crash into the wall, ready to take down the corrupt Sheriff, Kara's heart shattered, as she heard a bullet escape a gun. She then heard Alex screaming. Alex kept screaming, just as Kara smashed into the wall, destroying it.
