Thunder roared and lightning lit the night sky. The wind howled angrily disturbing the trees from their resting peace and the rain descended from the sky rapidly forming several puddles in just a matter of seconds.

'Such a beautiful night for a wedding.' Celeste thought as she watched the storm through the abandoned church window. Another roar of thunder filled the air as if the heavens were laughing at her thoughts. She sighed and came away from the window. Heaven had every right to laugh at her after all, the groom for tonight's ceremony was none other than Lucifer.

Celeste had joined the cult when she was 17 while in search of safe haven. The cult had provided her shelter, food, and a sense of community. However, she didn't know the price for these luxuries would be her own life. It was announced just a week ago that on her 21st birthday she would partake in the bride of Lucifer ritual. A ritual in which she would be sacrificed to the dark lord in hopes that he would favor the cult and grant their high priest all that he desired.

Celeste gazed upon the mirror at her reflection. Her black wedding gown hugging her body and the black veil concealing her face. Celeste thought how any normal person would be attempting to escape such a fate however, she welcomed death. She had welcomed death for quite some time however, no matter how many times she knocked on death's door he never welcomed her. But tonight was going to be a different story.

Knock Knock Knock

The door to the room opened. There stood a robed figure.

"It's time." The figure said. Celeste sighed and made her way to the door. She followed the figure to the chapels door where another hooded figure awaited her. The additional hooded figure made its way to stand on her other side awaiting for the doors to open. Celeste could feel her heart racing as she knew the hour of her death was upon her.

As soon as the doors opened Celeste felt the two robed members lock their arms with hers restraining her incase she had a change in heart. The organist began to play a tune, in lieu of the traditional wedding march, that brought forth a feeling of impending doom to Celeste. She was gently being pulled down the aisle towards the alter where the high priest awaited her.

At the alter before the high priest drawn on the floor was a pentagram surrounded by unlit candles.

"Step into the pentagram child." The high priest instructed. Celeste made her way to the center and the two hooded figures began to chant lowly as they lit the candles surrounding her. Once all the candles were lit the high priest began his sermon. Celeste couldn't bring herself to focus on the words spewing from the high priest's mouth. She knew most of it was nonsense as according to several members this is not the first attempt of the ritual.

'Kind of makes you wonder why they continue to attempt this. Maybe everyone here is just into murder. Which should I really be surprised?' Celeste thought to herself. Her thoughts were interrupted when the high priest unveiled her face.

"Behold Lucifer your bride. Prepared to swear her soul to you." The high priest turned to a table behind him and collected an apple. Celeste gazed at the apple knowing that it had been laced with cyanide for her to consume. "Dear child do you swear your soul to Lucifer to serve and honor him in this life and the afterlife?"

"I do." Celeste said accepting the apple from the high priest. She could feel her heart begin to race once the apple was in her hands. This was it. Even if the ritual didn't work and she wasn't bound to Lucifer by marriage she was destined to go to Hell. She'd only been lectured many times prior to joining the cult how suicide is a one way ticket to Hell and here she was about to board that train by pulling a Snow White-esque suicide.

She brought the apple to her lips and took a deep breath before taking a bite. At first her mouth was filled with the sweetness of the apple's juice. As she chewed she could taste the sweetness rapidly evolve into an unpleasant flavor. Her tongue began to feel hot as if it was disintegrating the longer the apple inhabited her mouth. Celeste forced the foul fruit down her throat. Although her mouth was now vacant the taste of iron now filled it as no doubt the damage brought upon the poison summoned blood.

Her body quickly weakened causing her to drop the apple. She clenched her chest as she gasped for air. She felt as if she was drowning and no matter how much she inhaled it never seemed to be enough air. She fell onto the ground as the cult began to chant. She could not understand their words but could hear their excitement in her demise. Her eyes began to fill with tears as she knew just like her life; her death would be meaningless.

'What would Lucifer want with a broken pathetic soul like mine?' She thought releasing her tears. 'However, if it's what you want then take it. I surrender my soul.' She thought before closing her eyes feeling her heart begin to decrease in the number of beats.

Unbeknownst to her the flames which lit the candles surrounding her began to grow and flicker violently. The chants around her started to decrease as members of the cult grew fearful of the growing fire. The members watched as the flames arose and created a tornado like vortex. Several members attempted to make way to the exit but escape seemed impossible as the doors failed to open.

Celeste felt the heat surrounding her and she was certain she was descending into the eternal flames of Hell. She could hear screams of terror fill the air. With the limited strength she had opened her eyes to peer out to the audience. Her eyes widened in horror as she saw the room filled with flames and dismantled bodies.

'What the fuck?!' She thought as her gaze remained locked on the gruesome sight before her. She then heard a scream and searched for the source. At the end of the aisle she saw an entity with six wings, a devilish tail, and horns which were wrapped within an halo with snake characteristics holding the high priest by his throat.

"Please don't hurt me this was for you. This was all for you." The high priest pled to the entity.

Celeste could not hear the entity however, it appeared as if the high priest's plea fell on deaf ears as the entity snapped his neck. Celeste watched as his lifeless body collapsed onto the floor. Fear consumed her weakened body she knew she couldn't run to save herself. She closed her eyes and hoped that the entity would return to Hell instead of slaying her. She heard the steps of the entity as it approached her.

"You can open your eyes now." The entity said. His voice soft and gentle nothing similar to the one she imagined for such a demon. Although she was hesitant; she opened her eyes and gazed up at Lucifer. She couldn't help but acknowledge that although he appeared beastly there was a beauty to him.

"Looks like you could use some help." Lucifer said kneeling down to her and stretching his hand out to her. His glowing red eyes turning soft to match the warm grin that dominated his face.

With her dying breath she reached out to him as there was a part of her which could not refrain from accepting his hand. After all how does one say no to the big boss of Hell himself? Lucifer brought her hand to his lips and softly giving it a kiss before it fell limp in his hand.

'Rest now little one.' He thought as he descended back to the hotel where his new "bride" awaited him.
