Every Day Like the Last

The sun shone bright through the day, and they were able to just enjoy themselves. They got to check out what was happening in Domino City, the noise and bustle almost overwhelming. They headed to see the new card packs for Duel Monsters, and there was so much more to see.

They made it to the park, sitting under the bench, where it was just the two of them, the sounds of people and families further away.

"I'm having a great time, Yugi." Ryou said, looking outward, feeling the other boy's presence.

Yugi blinked, and he smiled. "I'm glad to hear that, it was the least I could do,"

"For what?" Ryou asked, though he had an inkling as to why.

Yugi shifted where he sat, and he crossed his arms. "Well, after all, you and I have been through a lot, and we do have some things in common."

Ryou nodded. "That's true. We don't have to say it out loud, but I believe that there is something I can say."

"What's that?" Yugi asked.

Ryou turned to face Yugi, and he smiled as he gently grasped onto the other boy's hand. "That I wish it could be like this every day, spending time with you."

Yugi let those words sink in for a moment, and then he nodded, lightly squeezing Ryou's hand with his.

"You know what, same here. I wish it could be like this all the time."

"Really?"

A nod. "Really."

They didn't have to say anything more than that.
