For a Sunny Day

"What are you thinking about?" Ami asked, as she and Makoto lay on the blanket, under the cool shade of the tree. They picked this exact spot to enjoy the day, the perfect time for a picnic.
Since school was over for the time being, it was better to make the most of it.
"Hm?" Makoto mumbled, turning her head to face Ami, her eyes curious as ever. She had to hold back a huge smile from just how cute the other girl looked. "Oh nothing much, just thinking about a bunch of things to do for the summer."
"Really?" Ami asked.
"Mmhmm." Makoto hummed.
"Because I was just thinking the same thing. We are having a picnic right now, so that can be crossed off, how about going to the festivals?" Ami suggested, shifting herself closer to Makoto, who nodded.
"That sounds good to me."
"Oh, or how about the beach? We can go there when it's not too hot."
"Yeah, that works for me, and definitely when it's not hot and muggy."
Ami nodded. "Right, it'll be perfect."
Makoto made an affirming hum, and then Ami moved so that she could place her head on the other girl's shoulder.
"For now, this is just perfect." Ami said, smiling, and Makoto could only smile back.
"Yup, you can say that again."
