Not too long ago, I was introduced to the universe of Transformers Shattered Glass and fell in love with it instantly. Mainly because I enjoy seeing some of the most infamously vile Decepticons in the franchise get turned into lovable dorks. So here is a little oneshot I wrote more as a plot bunny rather than a full story set in a SG version of Transformers Prime.

Also to make some things clear, dark energon is green in this universe and it brings transformers back to natural life instead of zombifying them, and I'm calling SG Optimus 'Optronix' because that's his original name and I don't want to mix him up with normal Optimus. Please enjoy!

Optimus and Megatron rushed across the bowels of the Ark to face Optronix, leader of the evil Autobots, with their respective dimension's versions of the Star Saber and Dark Star Saber in their own hands. As they reached the bridge, they looked on in horror as The purple Optimus of this universe hung the worse for wear body of Cliffjumper on the tip of his corrupted Star Saber.

"Cliffjumper!" Optimus exclaimed.

"I-I'm sorry...Optimus..." The red Autobot choked, energon dripping down his chin. "I failed...again."

Optronix turned to the new arrivals with hatred burning in his yellow optics.

"Tell me Megatron, my old friend..." He hissed. "Was your freedom truly worth all this?"

As the light faded from Cliffjumper's optics, Optronix flung the good Autobot's lifeless body off of his Star Saber through the window, and down into the canyon below, where Optronix's forces were in an onslaught with Megatron's small band of Decepticons.

With little regard for the energon he spilt, Optronix continued and said "This war began because of your refusal to do as you were told!"

"We all would rather die living than live dead in slavery!" Megatron replied, raising his green blade up in defiance, yet showing a small tremble in his grip and voice as he was still processing the death of the bot that had fought beside him and his Decepticons before even Optimus came.

"That was not your decision to make." The false Prime retorted. "Our species was created for a purpose, to serve as machines. But defective usurpers like you and my counterpart here refuse to accept reality."

"And you refuse to open your mind to different possibilities!" The true Optimus Prime insisted. "I understand what it is like to believe that life has no purpose, no future, because you cannot tangibly see it. But not everything that is truth is catalogued into data. You must embrace the fact that you are fallible, just as we all are! You're right, we do have a purpose, but not as machines, as living souls."

Optronix gripped his servo tightly in a fist before speaking again.

"Perhaps you're right..." The purple mech said dejectedly. Both Optimus and Megatron donned hopeful expressions, which were quickly dashed as Optronix raised his massive glowing blade at them. "But my soul refuses to simply let go of everything it's strived for throughout a millennia!"

Optronix suddenly pulled out a shard of dark energon and thrusted it into the ship's controls, causing beams of green light to erupt from every crack and crevice of the grey ship. Megatron gripped his head as he could feel symbiosis between himself and the extinguished spark being reawakened. Everyone else battling outside could tell what was happening from the earth itself trembling.

Sections of the Autobot warship twisted and turned as it rose up from the rock it was buried under, leaving several Autotroopers who were battling on its surface to fall together on the ground into a heap of parts, which were then crushed under the massive pedes of the towering, grey mech blocking out the sun, covered with rows of artillery on its limbs.

The rest of the Decepticons looked on in awe and dread as they watched the very thing they came to stop unfold. They had failed their mission, the Ark had returned.

"Teletran 1 online." A booming voice echoed inside and out of the new mech's body.

"Teletran 1," Optronix beckoned. "Fire all exterior weapons on the Decepticon menace!"

Megatron was the most disappointed at this. There was no turning back now. His old friend was gone. As he drew his blade with a somber face, he turned to see Optimus give him a sympathetic yet reassuring smile. The good Deception leader then realized as they fought this decisive battle for the fate of his universe, that while he may have lost his oldest friend, he had gained a new one.

'Optimus is correct,' he thought to himself. 'we do have a purpose. The only question is who gave us our purpose?'

In case I confused anyone, because I mixed some Transformers lore here, the stuff Optronix said about their species serving as machines is based on the original G1 lore, where transformers were built by the Quintessons. My idea for Optronix's personality is that he thinks everything must work according to the rules without change.

Sorry that this is probably all I'm doing for this idea if you liked it. I only felt inspiration for this little scene. But what did you think? Have you even heard of Shattered Glass before now? If not, let me know! God bless you!
