Had this idea in my mind for a while now where Blade can finally open up to someone about the feelings hidden away inside him for so long, also been wanting to do a bit with just Leech and Blade so figured why not merge the two.
I don't own Blade or Leech Woman, they belong to Full Moon and Charles Band. My friend Cryptid owns Jinkx while I own Elizabeth and Archer.
Blade let out a yawn stretching out on his pillow, it was one of those rare days the puppet leader was allowed to sleep in, though he hated the thought of getting lazy like a housecat it was nice to be left in peace.
Looking around he noticed he was the only one left in the room, no doubt everyone else was either outside or in different rooms doing their own thing.
He made his way towards the nearest window and could just make out a few of his brothers outside.
True they were not related by blood but the same man had created the puppet bodies they resided in therefore after a while and with everything they had been through they had started to refer to one another as brothers.
He gave a pleased nod upon seeing Archer outside, one of the few female puppets in their group.
It was nice to see her enjoying herself now. Not being plagued by nightmares of the past interactions she'd gone through.
He paused feeling like he was being watched, a familiar feeling he had picked up on from his time in the Bodaga Bay Inn.
A quick glance at the glass confirmed his feeling upon noticing the reflection of another puppet that had come to join him.
"I can feel your gaze boring into my skull Elsa." He spoke before turning to face her.
Despite her forgiving him for that night on the farm all those years ago there was still some tension between them sometimes.
"We've all seen the way you've been looking at the Archer puppet lately Blade. I'm just making sure you don't do anything that would end up hurting her." She stated, her arms crossed.
Blade shifted on his heels for a moment.
"I won't allow myself to make the same mistakes I did in the past and I know my master wouldn't let me either."
Leech Woman nodded before speaking.
"Such as Hess?"
He hated it when she said his old name, his human name in that tone and she knew it.
"For starters leaving you on that farm, not having the sense to have Torch carry you back. There wasn't a day that went by where I wouldn't think of you.. what I did…I still don't know why you forgave me. We both know I don't deserve forgiveness for what I did." He replied looking away, the pain in his voice still clear.
"Hell it's nothing short of a miracle when Decapitron was first activated that he didn't try to electrocute me.. Though I'm not saying I didn't deserve it when he got the new body and did that though..it was very much overdue."
Leech Woman's gaze softened seeing him still beating himself up over that night.
But there was still something bothering him.
He looked up feeling a comforting hand on his shoulder.
"That's not the only mistake you're dwelling on is it?" She asked.
He let out a deep sigh.
"No.. when Jasmine…Archer's grandfather Adrian had possession of us he made me promise to keep an eye on her and protect her…and look at what happened. If I wasn't in that fucking cage maybe I could have stopped the gun going off and killing her..I had to watch the new master die because of us.. because of me. Do you know what that's like? To watch and be responsible for the death of two women you consider your friends, your teammates even? I can't fail Archer again. I can't let myself fail." He explained only to be pulled into a comforting hug.
He could feel himself getting worked up.
"It's going to be ok Blade. You did the best you could for her." Leech Woman assured.
She was surprised when Blade let out an almost strangled sound, his body starting to shake.
"I failed her and I failed you. I have to keep her safe..I have to protect her..fulfil my promise." He said, trying to hold back the sob of remorse in his throat.
It would take a few minutes for him to compose himself, Leech Woman refusing to let him go.
He soon found himself returning the hug.
"I'm sorry..I didn't mean to let my emotions get in the way." He apologised once they both let go.
"Don't be, you clearly care about her. That's what a good friend and mentor does. I just worry you'll start getting attached and possessive like you did with me." Leech Woman explained.
Blade paused before sighing once again.
"I can't help it Elsa. A big part of me knows we're safe with my master here. But after everything we've gone through.." He trailed off.
"You're still scared something will happen to her." Leech Woman said earning a nod from Blade.
"You're a strong man Hess, you're fiercely loyal and protective but also headstrong and stubborn. I've heard your master call you a stubborn git enough times. But your master has shown she's more than capable of defending herself and us. Right now I would stop worrying, the Archer is your master's favourite after all and won't let anything happen to her." She continued before brushing him down so he looked presentable.
"You're right."
"I know."
"But I can't help but be protective. It's my way of trying to make up for what I did." Blade explained.
"Has your master ordered you to kill since being in her possession?"
That question caught him off guard.
"Only time I've killed since being with her was that demon."
"That wasn't what I asked Hess, have you had the specific order to kill? To gather brain matter be it animal or human since your master took you in?" Leech Woman asked.
Blade shook his head.
"No, if anything she's prevented myself and everyone else from doing that."
"Then you don't need to worry about Archer, we're all safe here under Jinkx and Elizabeth's care. I've seen for myself they want what's best for us, to keep us safe from other people that could hurt us. Be glad you don't have to kill anymore."
Blade gave a nod.
"Would you mind staying up here with me for a while? I'd like to have some peace for a while longer." He asked.
Leech Woman crossed her arms in thought for a few moments.
"Well I was thinking of sending Jester and Six Shooter up here to wake you if you were still asleep..but I suppose I could put off sending them up to keep you company for a while."
"Please don't. I don't have the mental energy to deal with Idiot One and Idiot Two right now. I know you're going to tell them I said that so tell them have fun guessing which idiot is which." Blade said taking a seat by the window, Leech soon sitting next to him with a smile, both enjoying the calmness of the empty room.
