Lews Therin Telamon stretched out on the bed. Today is the day. Do or die, today we seal the bore. A sense of calm spread through his body —it always did before his duties, whether on the battlefield or the political stage— as he rolled onto his side —the bed remarkably uncomfortable and hard— and reached out to embrace Ilyena, but she had apparently already gotten up. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes and sat up. "Ilyena!" he called out loudly. "Where are you? We need to buy a new bed, this one..." He trailed off slowly, eyes widening, looking around the room, as the head of a sweet girl with brown hair —in a braid— and large brown eyes popped up in front of his face. The girl had a worried expression and red eyes, as if she had been crying. "Rand, oh... Rand, I didn't think you would survive. You fell... Nynaeve did everything she could," said the girl, throwing her arms around him and hugging him tightly. She spoke in a strange language that he had never heard before, yet he could understand every word, and oddly enough, it was as if some part of him also knew the girl. "Where is Ilyena?" Lews asked cautiously. "Please, Rand, lie down, you're delirious." Not wanting to cause a scene he decided to play along for now. She doesn't understand me. He lay back down on the hard bed. "I'll get your father and some food," said the girl, hurrying out. Is this a dream or did I die in the attack on the Dark One and am reborn? No, then I shouldn't have memories from a previous life. He sank into a meditation exercise to examine his consciousness and subconscious. After a while, he found a subconscious part that seemed to be tied to the body. When Lews reached out his consciousness to it, memories and impressions flooded into him. This was truly Rand, Rand Al'Thor, whom the girl —who was apparently named Egwene— had been worried about. I... Lews Therin Telamon, trapped in a farm boy's body.
Lews summoned the Void... "Damn!" he screamed, throwing a nearby vase against the wall, saidin was not there. In anger, he threw aside the blankets to confirm his fears, this was indeed another —though tall and well-built— man's body. The door suddenly burst open and a short, beautiful woman with dark brown hair and large blue eyes glided into the room. She wore a blue dress with silver embroidery, and an exquisite blue stone hung from a chain on her forehead. He immediately noticed her ageless face that marked her a binder bound criminal. "Why are you screaming? Has something happened?" she asked as she regarded his now naked body with an indifferent expression. At the same time, Egwene entered carrying a tray with food and drink. "Your father will come as soon as the meeting..." she abruptly stopped, her face turning bright red, and quickly turned around. "Rand..." she gasped. Lews quickly reached into his subconscious to ensure the language would be as accurate as possible. The boy seemed to have a somewhat rude and unpolished manner of speech, but what could one expect from a peasant. "I am terribly sorry, I suddenly felt very hot and did not think at all, I will of course cover myself immediately, if you will excuse me." He began to get up when the woman in the blue dress elegantly lifted and placed the blankets over Lewis's naked body, simultaneously placing a hand on his chest and pushing him back down onto the bed. "You should rest, such a fall could have taken your life" she said firmly. Best to play along until I know more about her crimes. "I have healed you, and it makes you both tired and hungry. Eat now and then sleep, we'll talk more tomorrow" With those words, she glided out of the room, and Egwene placed the tray on a table beside the bed. "I have to help my mother, but I'll come up again later. Your father will probably come soon." She gave him another hug and then hurried out, closing the door gently. Lews did feel hungry, but he could no longer keep his eyes open. What kind of crude healing was this, making you tired and hungry.
