Things Fall Apart

At the camp roost, Dillon eating snacks while looking at the map of the Isla Nublar as everyone else is lounging.

"What up, Camp Cretaceous? Whoohoo!" Darius greeted.

"Not in a "whoohoo" mood this morning, Darius." Kenji frowned. "Not after yesterday. Trekking through a rainstorm will do that."

"We only had to walk because you crashed our gyrosphere." Ben said, slurping his juice box.

Kenji growled, making him flinched.

"But today's a new day! Kayak Day!" Darius said, wanting to make it exciting. "Who doesn't wanna paddle alongside dinosaurs, real dinosaurs? It's gonna be awesome, right?" He then notice Roxie and Dave isn't here. "Wait, where are Dave and Roxie?"

"They're gone, Darius." Dillon said.

"Yeah, The babysitters took off early and left this." Kenji said, gave him the note from them.

"'BRB. Gotta go. Boss talk. BB. Later. Smiley face.'" Darius read the note. "Is that a dinosaur emoji with a thumbs up?"

"It's Dave speak. Roxie translated on the back."

Darius looked at the back of the note.

"We have to go talk to our boss. Stay inside until we return. Draw, bond, whatever. The radio's set for channel six in case you need us. Stay inside, stay inside. Do not leave, Kenji, looking at you." Uh... "Sorry for the kids' menus, it's all Dave had."

"Do they understand how old we are? I mean, when was the last time you even saw a crayon?"

Ben showed them the drawing of him and Bumpy, playing a chess.

"Hmm. I have notes." Yasmina remarked.

"Yasmina!" Sammy said.

The door was slammed open, revealing Brooklynn with angry face.

"Brooklynn. What's new on the Internet, superstar?"

"I wouldn't know, because when I went to get my phone from its charger, it wasn't there!" Super Star said, angrily. "Someone stole my phone."

"Brooklynn, who hasn't had your phone?"

"I needed to check the weather last night..." Ben said.

"Dr. Sattler posted a new column on microfossils yesterday..." Darius said.

"...too good to miss the selfie opp, but I haven't used it since then, I swear!" Kenji said.

"I didn't used your phone because I didn't bring one with me." Dillon said.

Brooklynn scoffed before glaring at Sammy.

"I... haven't seen it either."

"Really?"

"Hey, hey, it's okay! Since we're not kayaking till later, we'll have plenty of time to look for the phone." Darius said.

"Oh, I think I know exactly where to look."

"Where? I mean your phone didn't just get up and walked away." Dillon said.

"Exactly, Dillon, because whoever took the phone might be trying to hide some of the things that are on it." She glared at Sammy, "What do you think, Sammy?"

"Um, what?"

"What is your deal? Sammy said she didn't touch it!" Yasmina defended her. "Ever think you might have just lost the stupid thing?"

"Hmm." Brooklynn frowned, "Well, then, let's check her bags and test that theory out."

"What?!" Dillon said.

"You do not get to go through anyone's stuff, I don't care how famous you think you are!"

Darius is uneased by girl's argument while Kenji was amused by it.

"Brooklynn, I did not-"

"Brooklynn, guys, come on! We can't be this upset over phones." Darius said, breaking up the arguments. "Let's make the most of this incredible opportunity! This is Jurassic World! It's- It's-"

Suddenly, they heard a distant dinosaur roar in the jungle.

"What was that?" Brooklynn asked.

"Um, a T. rex?" Kenji guessed.

"Mmmm... I don't think so." Darius said.

"Then what sort of dinosaur did it sound like? Friendish? Or foeish?" Ben asked as the group heads to the balcony rail.

"Where's it comin' from?" Sammy asked.

"Can't see anything from here." Yasmina said, unable to see through the trees. "The trees are blocking everything."

"It's probably just a new dinosaur that Dr. Wu cooked up in his lab." Dillon said.

"You're right. They could be moving a new dino from the lab to another enclosure." Darius said before having an idea. "We could probably see it from the observation tower! Could be cool."

"Wow, that's a great idea, Darius!" Sammy agreed before dragging him. "What are we waiting for?"

"Hey, we're not done talking about this yet!" Brooklynn said as they follow them to the elevator.

"But, guys, it's Indoor Arts and Crafts Day!" Ben stated. "We should stay and wait for Dave and Roxie, right, Kenji?"

"If you wanna stay here and draw you and your Dino crush, go for it. I'm gonna go see me a T. rex or a girl fight. Either way, I win. Kaching!" He joins with the others.

"Fine, go on! I'll just stay where we're supposed to stay, wait for who we're supposed to wait for, and be right where we're supposed to be."

Ben sat there on the couch, but feeling uneasiness of being alone and having a second thought when looking at the T-rex skeleton.

"Wait! Guys, I'm coming too!" He stuffed the paper in his fanny pack and ran towards the other campers.

As they all left the camp roost, they forgot the walkie as it crackles.

"Asset out of containment. Repeat, asset out of containment. Stay indoors. ACU is responding."

At the zipline, Darius, Kenji and Yasmina tried opening the gate while the rest of them watched them.

"It's locked!" Kenji said.

"Oh, wow. Guess we can't get in." Ben said before starting to leave. "We should all go back before someone comes along and we get in trouble."

"Wait... Where is everybody?" He noticed there is nobody here but them. "There's usually someone around."

"If we're doing this..." Brooklynn pulls out her Bobbi pin and insert it the keyhole. "Then we might as well do this." She then opens the gate. "Tada!"

The group shows no reaction of what she did.

"What? You didn't see my "Unboxing Kathmandu" video; "Hacks For When You Lock Yourself Out Of Your Hotel Room"?"

"Last to the top is a rotten egg!" Sammy rushed in first.

"Later, rotten egg." Yasmina went in second.

The rest of the group went up to the zipline tower.

"Is anybody else hot? It is hot." Sammy panted,

Everyone else panted after running up the stairs.

"No more stairs!" Kenji panted, felling over. "There better be something good."

As they panted, they felt a rumble sound.

"You guys feel that?" Dillon asked before another rumble.

"You're not the only one." Darius said.

They looked at the trees as they heard and feel the rumbling sound.

"There's something out there." Brooklynn whispered.

"Something big." Darius added.

The sound is getting louder and close to the tower until they see the Brachiosaurus, much to the group's relief.

"It's just a Brachiosaurus." Yasmina said.

"Ooh! Mystery solved." Ben sighed in relief. "Guess we should head back now."

"But that doesn't make any sense. Brachiosauruses don't roar like that. They're more like..." Darius imitates its roar.

"Didn't quite catch that. Uh, one more time?" Kenji joked.

"Hey! What are you kids doin' outside? There's an asset out of containment!" They looked down and saw the two men, yelling at them.

"What are they saying?" Darius said.

"I don't know. Something about asset out of containment?" Dillon said.

"You can't be up there!"

"Oh, great! They look mad. I told you we'd get in trouble." Ben said, worriedly.

"Can you hear us? You need to get down now! Hurry!"

"You're gonna have to speak up!" Kenji yelled.

"The park's going on lockdown!"

"I got this."

As they listened to the workers, the kids saw the Brachiosaurus cries and falls down to the ground as if something attacked it, scaring the kids.

"What happen to it?" Dillon said before he sees something is approaching them in the trees.

"Why aren't ya movin'? Get down here, kids! Get down here, right-"

"Guys, look!"

The strange white carnivorous dinosaur ambush them and ate them.

"AHH!" The kids cringed as the workers was eaten by it.

The unknown dinosaur roared.

"What... Is... That?" Yasmina said, horrified.

"It got him! It got him!" Ben screamed.

"It ate them!" Dillon yelled.

"Dr. Wu's lab. There was a dinosaur. In—" Brooklynn begins.

"Indominus Rex." Sammy finished.

"How do you know that name?"

"Indomin-what?" Dillon asked.

"But there's no dinosaur named-" Darius said.

"There's no time. We need to leave. Now, now, now! We have to go." Sammy said.

"Up here is safe, down there isn't." Kenji said, terrified while getting behind Darius. "Besides, this high up, it's not like Whatever-Rex there can even see us."

Unfortunately, the Indominus Rex saw the kids up on the zipline tower.

"It sees us!" Ben shrieked.

The white dinosaur crashed through the gate and grabbed the support beam, making the tower shake. It claws the metal beam and tore it off. The group was wobbled by the tower as its trying to tear it down. Sammy falls over the rail, but Yasmina grabbed her arm in time.

"Sammy!"

"Hold on!" Darius grabbed her arm while Dillon and Kenji grabbed her other arm and pull her up. Another crash almost makes Sammy fall over but they managed to pull her in.

"The zip line. Go, go, go!" Darius pointed at it.

Brooklynn pulls out the zipline and put Ben in it before another crash.

"I can't! I can't! I can't." Ben tried to buckled the safety belt.

"Here!" Kenji buckled it in.

They looked down at the Indominus Rex which it continues to crash the tower. Not wanting to go down with the tower, Kenji pushed Ben through the zipline as he screams from the height. Everyone else gets on their zipline and rushed on the zipline to get to the other tower.

"Guys!" Ben yelled.

Dillon feels that the zipline is stopping him and the others.

"Hey, what's going on?" He asked.

"Why aren't we moving!?" Kenji asked, "Ben, what did you do?"

"Nothing! It just stopped!"

The kids yelped when the zipline is wobbled from the tower they're in as the dinosaur is tearing off more support beam. As they're stuck, Dillon feels the push from the back as they're moving again.

"It's working. It's working!" Darius said.

"I think we're gonna make it!" Dillon said.

The Indominus Rex tore off the last metal support beam, making it collapsed.

"AAHHHHH!" They screamed as they fall down toward the trees.

Everything blacked out before Dillon woke up from his nasty falls.

"Oh, my back." He groaned before noticing his glasses is missing. "My glasses!"

He looked down to find his glasses and founded it, but the lenses is cracked a bit.

"Are you okay?" Yasmina asked while helping Sammy.

Dillon heard a roar as he puts on his glasses and it came from the same dinosaur that attacked them.

"Where the heck is that thing?" Kenji said, climbing down the trees.

"It's coming." Ben whimpered.

"Shh! It could be anywhere." Yasmina shushed.

"Yeah, we gotta be quiet! That thing might hear us." Dillon said, whispering.

"Where's—" Darius gasped while looking himself frantically. "No, no. My necklace, I left it in my bunk!"

They huddled together when they heard a loud roar.

"We've got slightly bigger problems than-" Kenji said as more loud roar sounded.

"We have to run. Now!" Sammy stated.

The kids started running back to the camp roost where they'll be safe.

"Everything will be fine when we get back to camp." Daruis assured.

They jumped over the log and passed the mud.

"Faster!"

When they reached back to their camp, they were shocked and horrified that their camp roost is destroyed. They walked to the ruins of the camp roost until Darius stepped on the footprint. They looked at the trail of it, meaning that dinosaur that attacked has been here before they got back.

Dillon has never been so scared in his life and now there's a white carnivorous dinosaur is loose and it destroyed their only shelter.

"Dave, Roxie, the other workers, they must've all gotten away." Sammy said.

Ben and Dillon looked at the upside vehicle near them and found the dead bodies of the workers.

"Not all of them." Ben gasped before collapse in shock as Sammy comforts him.

Dillon covered his mouth and walked away from it before coughing. Yasmina found the walkie and try calling Dave and Roxie.

Hello? Hello! Can anybody—?" She pounded on the walkie when it didn't work before dropping it, hopelessly. "We're on our own."

Everyone else was moping that no one knows that they're alive and no help comes.

"Give me my phone!" Brooklynn yelled at Sammy.

"What?" Sammy said.

"I don't care about you sneaking into Dr. Wu's lab, I don't care about whatever you did with the skin samples you took from the Sinoceratops..."

"What?" Yasmina said, "What skin samples?"

"What were you doing in Dr. Wu's lab?" Kenji asked.

"What are you talking about?" Dillon asked.

"I don't even care that you stole it now." Brooklynn said, "All I wanna do is call for help! Where is it?"

"Uh, I..." She said. "I... I don't know what you're talkin' about! Skin samples? Sneaking into labs? You made up some crazy thing in your own dang head!"

"Hey, back off. Not everything revolves around you and your phone! It isn't Sammy's fault you lost it!" Yasmina argued.

"Would you guys please keep it down?!" Ben said. "There's a big—"

"A big, scary dinosaur? Of course, there's a big, scary dinosaur! There's always a big, scary dinosaur!" Kenji exclaimed.

"And you're always a bigmouthed jerk!"

"Give it back!" Brooklyn yelled

"Back off!" Yasmina yelled.

"Yeah? Well, at least I don't play with crayons!" Kenji retorted.

"What is your problem with me? I'm trying to get us, all of us out of this mess!" Brooklynn exclaimed.

"What kind of dinosaur has white scales and kills the large herbivore that we saw?!" Dillon said. "It just tears down the whole tower down and our camp! We almost died back there! We've got to get out of here!"

"This wouldn't happen if someone couldn't give my phone back because she was trying to hide the evidence!"

"I didn't lie to you about it!" Sammy argued.

"Just stop!"

"Money's not gonna help any of us!" Ben yelled. "No one is getting out of here! We just saw people get eaten! We're alone, we're defenseless." He then sat down on the ground. "We're dead."

"I can't believe this." Yasmina said while everyone scoffed.

"We're doom." Dillon sighed.

"We're not giving up!" Darius said, getting their attention. "I get it. It's scary. This wasn't how it was supposed to be. Things aren't always gonna go your way. Life is messy and sometimes..." The group gathers around. "Things fall apart. But that's okay, because when that happens, we pick up the pieces and keep going. And we never give up."

"What about your necklace?" Brooklynn asked.

"It's not important." Darius said, "I've got the memories right here."

"What are we supposed to do?" Yasmina asked.

"Get south to the park. Get help. And the only way we'll make is if we do it together."

"We're a team or we're nothing at all or, you know, we don't go back into the jungle." Ben said, stating the other options.

"You can wait for the negligent babysitters, but I'm with Darius." Kenji said.

"Wait, really?" Darius said.

"Dude, there's no way I survived a dinosaur attack." The falling debris almost hit them. "...just to be taken out by cheap camp debris. Kenji ain't goin' out like that. We're going south." He started walking to the south with Darius. "The rest of you coming or what?"

"I'm in." Brooklynn said, going with them.

"Count me in." Dillon said, going with them as well.

"We're in, too." Yasmina said as she and Sammy going with them.

"Um, but guys?" Ben protested but stopped and sucking his fear in. "It's just one dinosaur. It's just one dinosaur. It's just one dinosaur. It's just one dinosaur."

The campers heads to the south to find help.
