AN: Thought of this month back because Buck is Christopher's second dad. This takes place somewhere in season 2 or close to season 3.

Summary: Christopher gives Buck a father's day card because he's his dad too in his mind.

Title: To Buck Dad

Christopher had already come up with something for Father's day for his dad with Buck's help. However, he was trying to figure out what he could do for Buck. He was his dad too even if there wasn't blood. He was his best friend and sometimes he felt like he was the only one he could talk to. He was there no matter what and he had fixed a way that he could skateboard without getting hurt. That had been so much fun and they still did it at times. He loved it when Buck was over and it was the three of them, they were like a family. He missed his mom and she couldn't be replaced, but Buck filled a different kind of hole he'd felt. He'd also helped piece his dad back together. He might have to wear glasses, but he could see clearly on that front.

He got some paper out and colored pencils setting to work on the card. He'd already made one for his dad with Buck earlier in the day. His great aunt had to have some tests done at the hospital, his dad had taken her. That had left him with Buck and they had worked on cards. He'd convinced Buck he should give Bobby one. It was no secret that Bobby was his dad. It didn't matter if they didn't share blood.

The card came together with drawing of the three of them. He put his dad on one side and Buck on the other side of him in the card. He colored it in before he wrote out some words that came from his heart. He meant every word of them too and it felt right having two dads. He made multiple hearts making them different colors. He each of their names in them connecting to a larger one in the middle that had all three of their names.

'You are tied for the best dad in the world, love you, Christopher.' He smiled looking at what he'd written. Buck was going to love it. He closed the card up and wrote 'To Buck dad.' On the cover of it.

He added a few other things that he thought represented them. A few wildlife animals and a cat. Sometimes his dad would tease Buck about cat laxatives which was funny. He'd also ask if he had found a cat with bowel problems yet. He put the colored pencils up once he was satisfied with what he'd created. He wanted to do something as well, but he couldn't cook breakfast on his own. Cerel wouldn't do he might ask Carla if she could help him. He wanted to surprise both of his dads. He'd also have to get Buck to stay the night for it to work. That wouldn't be too hard though. He had been staying over all week when they weren't on shift. In his dad's bed too it's how he knew they had stopped dancing around and actually done something about it.

Buck hadn't been on the couch when he'd gotten up. He'd thought he'd left at first until he'd gone to his dad's room. They'd been fast asleep and he'd gotten his dad's phone taking a picture of them. His dad had been holding Buck to him with the covers up, but he'd seen bare skin. When they had finally come out of the room thinking he was still asleep he'd given them a look and said 'about time. I thought I'd grow old waiting for you two to stop lying to yourselves.' It had ended up being the first night and they'd only slept, but he knew it wasn't like that now.

"Dad! Buck! Wake up!" Christopher said in excitement. "We made breakfast for you!" He added gently shaking his dad's who had his self wrapped around Buck in the bed.

Carla smiled watching Eddie and Buck look towards them in confusion when they finally were awake enough to process moving. She had sent a message to Eddie to make sure they were wearing clothes in the morning. She had gotten a question mark back, but only told him to do it and no back talk. A yes ma'am had been the reply. She had been more than happy to help Christopher surprise the two on the bed. She had been glad the two had stopped dancing around what they felt too. It had gotten to the point she wanted to whack them both upside the head.

"You say something about breakfast?" Buck asked first with a grin on his face.

"Yes, now get your lazy bones up and you best have on clothes." Christopher said.

Eddie smiled before he lifted his son up helping him onto the bed. He now understood Carla's text the night before. "Don't worry, there are clothes." He said. "You helped make us breakfast huh?" He asked.

"Yes, breakfast in bed with you two." Christopher said a huge smile on his face.

Carla had carried the tray and she sat it down on the bed. "I'm going to get out of your hair. You three have fun, kitchen's already cleaned besides the plates here." She said. "Happy father's day you two."

"Thanks." Eddie said he had wondered if Christopher and she had been up to something Friday.

"Thanks, Carla. You are way too good to us." Buck said. He was glad that she was their friend. He hadn't expected this, but he probably should have. Christopher had been secretive the last few days.

"I gotta help my favorite three boys have a good day. You deserve a little extra good in your lives." Carla said before she left. Christopher had thanked her more than once for the help.

"I made you cards to, but we have to eat first." Christopher said. "We are going to the wildlife sanctuary later too." They had started going there which was way cooler than the zoo.

"We better eat up if we got that planned. I'll have two kids with me." Eddie teased looking at Buck.

"Hey, bite your tongue. Christopher at least has the same interests I do. He's definitely mine too." Buck said.

Christopher laughed. "You can be a kid too, dad. Sometimes it's the best thing to be."

"I hope you never grow up buddy. Stay a kid as long as you can." Eddie said leaning in and kissing the top of Christopher's head.

After a couple more laughs they started eating what Carla had brought in the room. There was one plate that had pancakes, sausage and bacon piled on it with two more under it that were empty. Eddie divided it out letting Christopher use the tray while Buck and he put the plates in their laps. They leaned against the bed while they ate talking about what they wanted to do besides go to the sanctuary. Christopher had said they should move Buck in with them for good. That way he didn't have to leave at night anymore. Eddie had been wanting to ask Christopher before he asked Buck. He'd doubted he'd have a problem, but his son, no their son, beat him to it.

The two cards that Christopher had given them after they finished breakfast had made that part official. He hadn't missed the tears in Buck's eyes when he'd opened the card. There was no doubt in his mind that Buck was another dad to their son. Half the time when they weren't on shift Buck was here or doing something with them elsewhere. The week after Buck and him had made up after the ladder truck lawsuit disaster he'd kissed him. He hadn't exactly planned it, but Buck had been being a complete dork and it happened. He'd kissed his best friend and Buck had been kissing him back as if their lives depended on it.

They had been at the 118 when it happened Buck had been cooking and he'd been roped into helping him. He hadn't been doing the chopping of ingredients. Buck still didn't trust him to cook food without supervision. They had broken apart finding the others standing there looking at them before Bobby had said to pay up. They had been putting a bet on when they would finally do something.

"Am I going to be stuck sleeping on the couch?" Buck asked since Eddie had zoned out even though he was looking right at them. "Or am I sharing your room?" He teased Christopher.

The card had been wonderful, and he'd loved it. He had been terrified months back that he was going to lose Christopher for good. With what happened and then he thought Eddie might be pissed that he lost him. Christopher told people that he was saved by him, he didn't look at it any other way. He loved Christopher so much and if someone said something about a cute son he never corrected them. He hadn't heard Eddie do it either the one time they'd been somewhere. He remembered he'd looked right at him and had this smile on his face. At the time he'd had Christopher in his arms because he'd gotten tired. They hadn't even been dating at the time, but it had felt right.

"No, dad will share his bed like you're already doing, silly Buck." Christopher said. "Just don't forget to put clothes on. I live here too."

"I promise." Buck said even though he'd never forgotten clothes before. He put his arm around Christopher giving him a hug. "Thank you for the card and I'd be happy to be your second dad. I already thought of you as my own."

"You're welcome. We need a picture of the three of us. We have to mark this, you agreeing to it." Christopher said.

Eddie got his phone from the nightstand, and they got closer. He had it turned towards them so he could see the smiles that Buck and their son had on their faces. His face was almost hurting from the smiling and laughing he'd been doing since he woke up. He was glad that Buck agreed to move in. He never doubted that he'd want to be a second dad to Christopher though. He already was. He might have taken care of making sure that if something happened then Buck would be the one taking care of him. It hurt even thinking about that day coming, but with their job you never knew. He knew that they would get each other through the loss. He shook his mind from that thought taking the picture. One with them smiling and another with silly faces.
