It was night at Robotropolis as the clouds vanish and the moon shined.
"Robotnik's reach was wild, but with so many operations, it also made him vulnerable in the most distant areas, or so my children thought." Aleena said.
The underground observe the situation.
"So when Reno and Todd take out the comm' lines, we can walk right in!" Sonic said.
"I think it will take a little more than that." Sonia said and they looked at the map with Sonia holding a torch. "We still have to get past the pressure pads, electrified fences, a moat, and automatic fire perimeter area-"
"Been there, done that. No biggie!" Sonic said interrupting Sonia and walked to her bike in excitement. "I want to get going here!" she said angrily and stamped her foot. "We got a power plant to blow!"
"I don't think that's gonna happen tonight." Manic said.
"Why?" she said and walked back to them. "What do you see?"
"Nothing. They're nowhere in sight."
"Something's wrong." Sonia said.
"Well, we can't hang here for much longer. We're sitting ducks!" he said and a spotlight shined on them.
They gasped as a supply ship lowered.
"All citizens, you are under arrest." a robot said.
"Quack Quack." Manic said holding his nose.
"You are under arrest." a robot said.
"We heard you the first time!" Sonic said and the craft shot lasers at the group. "Hey!" she said, zoomed and dodged a blast.
Sonia was seen clearing the smoke by shaking her head and arms.
"How could you?" Sonia asked, spun and created a tornado.
The tornado rise up to the craft and sent it for a spin. It then flung the craft onto a piece of land in the distance, causing it to explode. Sonia stopped spinning and smartened herself up.
"Ew... I can never super spin in the pain." she said.
Meanwhile Manic was on his hoverboard pointing at the building.
"Let's blow!" he said and more Supply Ships swoop in.
"That's a biggy effort." the pilot said as the motorbike started up and rolled away.
Inside the building Sonic, Sonia and Manic walked out of a tunnel.
"I can't figure why they just left us hanging?!" Sonic said.
"Chill, Sonic. Let's hear what they have to say." Sonia said.
"I'm afraid they won't have much to say." Cyrus said.
"Huh?" Sonic asked.
"We're captured." he said and she became miserable.
A moment later, the group were sat on a box with Sonia sitting next to Sonic.
"Oh man. Now I feel bad for being mad." Sonic said.
"One of our inside sources said they're being roboticized today." Cyrus said.
"No way! Not if I can stop him!" she snapped.
"Sonic, wait!" Sonia said but Sonic dashed off and left behind a puff of smoke to the rest of the group while Sonia cleaned herself again and growled. "I hate it when he does that!"
"Wait, there's more! Something very strange is going on. Two more Freedom Fighters disappeared this morning." Cyrus said.
"Disappeared? How, Cyrus?" Manic asked.
"We don't know!" Cyrus said fed up.
Then a flashback started and blue aura zoomed around the building. The Swatbots saw the suspect.
"Sector 4, intruder alert, battering sector 0." a Swatbot said and the aura destroyed the two Swatbots.
Inside a room, an alarm sounded.
"Intruder, sector 3." the Swatbot said.
"The little rodent is in a hurry. Perhaps he wants to see his friends. Let's oblige him, shall we?" Robotnik said and Sleet and Dingo nodded. "Open all entrances!"
"But why, sir?" Sleet asked worried.
"Silence! I want him to see his friends, but of course he will have to pay the price." Robotic said with an evil laugh.
All the entrances opened and Sonic zoomed to and looked at an opening shutter outside the building.
"Oh, this is subtle. Nice, the door is open." she said. "Wow. I wonder if this is a trap." she said sarcastically. "Well, I'm coming in! Give it your best shot, butt-nik!" she said in an aggressive voice, zoomed inside the building, peeked inside the chamber and looked at the roboticizer. "This is the ugliest thing in the universe!"
"You don't like my little boy, hedgehog?" Robotnik said through monitor. "It'd be a Freedom fighter thing. Your friends didn't like it either. See?" he said and she gasped as the door opened.
Five robotiocized Mobians appeared and Sonic took several steps back in agony.
"Reno! Todd!" she said as the robots walked outside the door, encroach her and she stepped back even further. "I'm too late!" she said weakly.
"Has your lunch run out, too?" Robotnik said and a hole opened underneath Sonic.
She fell in and screamed as she fell face first into the next floor. A spotlight shone on her as she got up.
"Welcome to the end, hedgehog." Robotnik said and she gasped. "Oh don't worry. No roboticization for you. I have something special in mind. It's called vaporization!" he said, noticed and dodged a blast by zooming into the corner then jumped up to dodge the second blast. "Instead of air to the bone," he said and inhaled. "you're going to become the air that we breathe!" he said and chuckled.
"Yeah yeah. Whatever, round boy." Sonic said, yelped again and jumped, dodging another blast.
"Sooner or later, you'll get tired." he said and she stepped in the middle.
"I'm already tired, of listening to you. Besides, this is a lame trap. "Spin and win" time!" she said, turned into an aura and dodged several rounds of blasts.
An explosion covered the screen and when the smoke died out, a hole was carved into the wall.
"I'm telling you, Butt-nik. You'll get yours!" she said angrily, zoomed through the hole and back into open air. Robotnik screamed in fury.
Then the flashback ended.
"I just don't get it." Sonic said miserably.
"Me neither. How's Robotnik nabbing them?" Manic said.
"I've got agents all over the city trying to find that out." Cyrus said and walked to a purple hologram of the building. "We still have to hit the supply ships tonight and we need a diversion."
"Hmm... If the supply ships are coming here, then we should create a diversion here: The Swatbot substation in sector seven." Sonia said.
Meanwhile, outside the building, more supply ships emerge from another opening entrance and guard the area while Sonic peeped from behind a broken building.
"Huh?" she said. "OK. Once I stir up the hornet's nest I'll lead them into the street and you guys pick 'em up." she said to the team.
"Let's rip it!" Manic said and hovered away.
"Calling through guys!" Sonia said.
"Cool!" Sonic said and zoomed into an aura.
The aura dove down the stairway into the basement. She zoomed to the outside and lured the three supply ships into attack, dodging the lasers. As she zoomed through an alleyway, the ships chase her.
"Priority 1: Hedgehog. Priority 1: Hedgehog." a Swatbot said.
Meanwhile Sonia was on her motorbike observing the scene. Then she revs it and rolled down the stairs to the basement that lead to the outside. She drifted around another supply ship, forcing it to chase her.
"Yo swat-dudes!" Manic said, hovered from behind a ruined building and swooped down to attack a Stealthbot.
It dodges. The two Stealthbots take off and chase Manic. They catch up to him and fire lasers, forcing Manic to flee.]
Meanwhile, Sonic screeched to a halt and dodged two more lasers.
"Oh, man. Come on! Show me your good stuff!" she said pretending.
The swatbot put down its arm and opened a bigger laser weapon from its chest. It fired and she gasped and ducked quickly with her eyes shut. The laser hit the bottom of a building, making an explosion and a crumbling noise.
"Me and my big mouth." she said defeated and zoomed into an aura.
Meanwhile, Sonia was still speeding on her bike and a shot fired at her. She dodged them while trying to keep her balance and noticed a large airborne aircraft in front of her.
"Oh my gosh!" she said.
As she approached the obstacle she drifted sideways, causing the bike's wheels to screech. She screamed as she tried to evade it. While drifting, she tilted herself underneath the craft to evade it unharmed. Unable to control her bike, she was approaching a wall.
"Not yet... Not yet…" she said and jumped.
The bike hit the wall and broke. She got up safely, but was surrounded by Stealthbots.
"You are under arrest." a Swatbot said.
While zooming, Sonic gasped in horror and screeched to a halt.]
"They aren't getting faster. What if they're getting slower?" she said as a small dart shaped missile appeared and approached her. "Better find the others." she said, quickly dodged the dart creating a large plume of smoke upon impact and stopped where Manic was.
"Bots must be having a slow day." Manic said.
"Yeah but—" she said and Sonia screamed so they looked up and noticed she was captured. "Bummer Majores." Sonic said and prepared a Super Peel out holding Manic's hoverboard. "Get ready for mach two!"
"Let's do it to it!" Manic said and they went. "Yahoo!" he said and they took off in the air and chased the aircraft across the sky.
Meanwhile, inside the craft.
"Inbound with Priority 1: Hedgehog." the Swatbot said.
Meanwhile three monitors were inside Robotnik's HQ.
"Excellent. Ready the roboticizer!" Robotnik said and he and Sleet got moving.
In the sky the chase continued and Sonic and Manic align themselves to the handle at the side of the craft.
"Get it open, Manic!" Sonic said holding the handle.
"I'm on it!" Manic said, leapt and landed on top of the craft.
He put a land mine on the pod which beeped and exploded, forcing Manic to flinch and cover his arm. A small hole was crated in the middle of the pod and Manic pulled the pod out, then came back to Sonic.
"All yours!" Manic said and jumped back on his board.
This propelled Sonic upwards and onto the craft. He jumps inside the chute, with a lot of attacking noises heard.]
"Hello?" Manic said worried then Sonic and Sonia appeared at the top looking down to him.
"Hey, bud, can you give us a lift?" Sonic said, jumped on the board, held hands with Sonia and pulled her down too.
"Robotnik's in for a surprise." Sonia said and the hoverboard turned back in the opposite direction.
At Robotropolis.
"Yes. Bring Sonia to me." Robotnik said slowly as Sleet and Dingo walked in.
"Huh?" Robotnik and Sleet said.
"Why isn't it slowing down?"
"It's going to crash!" Sleet said and they screamed as the craft flew towards them at high speed.
They duck down on the floor with arms above their head. The craft hit a wall and exploded. Then Robotnik noticed Sonic, Sonia and Manic.
"Hedgehogs!" he said.
"Don't you just love that?" Sonic asked.
At Robotropolis Robotnik and Sleet walked across to Lionel, who has been turned into a cyborg.
"Twenty-eight Freedom Fighters roboticized this week alone." Robotnik said with an evil laugh. "Isn't that wonderful, Sleet?"
"Oh yes, sir." Sleet said.
"How many more sleepers do we have?" Robotnik asked a robot.
"Six." the robot said and held a sleeper. "This is the last one." it said and Robotnik investigated the sleeper.
"Last one?!"
"Just until we get more fuel, sir." Sleet said.
"What?! That's impossible!"
"Not impossible. The sleeper uses concentrated Tritranium; very rare." the robot said.
"It's true sir. The next shipment isn't due from the Badland's mine for three months." Sleet said.
"Then use something else!" Robotnik said angrily and banged his fist on the desk.
"Impossible. It is the only fuel that compresses without exploding." the robot said.
"Get my command ship ready! I'll go to the mine and supervise the operation myself." Robotnik ordered Sleet.
Meanwhile.
"No one heard or saw anything. They just disappeared." Cyrus said.
"I've got a plan. We can use the transceiver." Sonia said.
"Boring." Sonic said with her hands on her hips. "How about a plan that involves Chili dogs?"
"Sonic." Manic said annoyed.
"It's OK, Manic. I think Sonic's onto something." Sonic said and tossed the transceiver to Sonic who looked at it.
"I am?" Sonic said.
Later at a Chili dog store.
"Sonic, this is the fifth family bait. Maybe we ought to try something else." Manic said.
"Are you kidding? This is the best assignment I've ever had!" Sonic said and walked closer. "How many dogs do you want?"
"Dude I couldn't eat another one of you paid me."
"Light-weight." she said and giggled. "Two doggies with the works, pal." she said to the butcher.
"Gotta pick them up inside!" Butcher called.
"Sonic, what if it's a trap?" Manic whispered.
"There hasn't been a trap made that can hold me. Be right back." Sonic said stubbornly, opened the door and walked in.
At the Camper Van.
"He's getting cocky again." Sonia said and Cyrus giggled.
"That's Sonic." he said and Manic briefly looked around.
A Sleeper approached Manic from behind, beeped and released gas. Manic gasped, shut his eyes and fainted as a small black aircraft arrived and kidnaped him. Soon afterwards Sonic exits the store, but saw something strange.
"Huh? What's that? Manic?" She said and the craft took off. "Not cool." she said, finished the Chili dog in one mouthful and zoomed off in front of the craft and tried to stop it.
It kept moving, dragging her feet across the ground and she pressed her transceiver repeatedly.
"Could use a little help here!" she said and managed to stop it.
Meanwhile, Sonia and Cyrus were controlling the Camper Van.
"Other way!" Sonia said and the Camper Van zoomed off.
Back to Sonic, who started struggling again.
"Man, this thing sucks!" she said while a cross-hair with a constant beeping sound heard in the background.
It scanned around the area and saw her pushing the craft forward. She looked at the cross-hair as it closed in on her.
"Yikes!" she said.
Then the Sleeper got closer to her and released gas. Sonic let go of the craft and peeled out to evade the gas. The Sleeper flew 360 degrees and chased her. She stopped with it still approaching her and peeled in the opposite direction to evade it. She stopped again and observed the surroundings. Then the Camper Van arrived at the destination, opened and Sonia and Cyrus came out.
"Sonia," Sonic said and pointed to the craft. "Manic's trapped in that box!"
"We're on it!" Sonia said while running.
"Try to nab that thing, Sonic!" Cyrus said while Sonic looked at an approaching Sleeper.
"Hey, no problemo!" Sonic said, caught the Sleeper and grabbed it tightly. "Ha! Gotcha!" she said struggling but unfortunately, it took her up in the air. "Whoooa!" she said out of control while Cyrus and Sonia struggled to hold the craft. "Been there, done that!"
"Let go, Cyrus." Sonia said.
"What about Manic?" Cyrus asked.
"Gotta risk it." she said and they let go of the craft.
Sonia unleashed her keyboard and fired a laser at it. The bottom was chopped off of it. Manic was still asleep and fell onto the bottom side.
Meanwhile, Sonic was still holding on to the Sleeper and banged into several buildings, yelping in pain. Suddenly, the dart ran out of fuel and wobbled. She screamed as she fell face first to the ground and exhaled. However, the dart spews sleeping gas, causing her to fall asleep and started dreaming as a spiky shadow approached her.
"Two doggies with the works, pal." she said in a relaxing voice.
At Robotropolis Sonia and Cyrus lifted a sleeping Manic up.
"Yeah Sonic's alright." Sonia said.
Later Sonic, Sonia, Manic and Cyrus were sitting together.
"It uses Tritranium for fuel." Cyrus said.
"Why Tritranium?" Sonia asked and Manic yawned.
"It's the only fuel that can compress without exploding. That's why these things can cruise for days." Cyrus said and Sonic yawned.
"That's not good." Sonic said.
"The good thing is that it's only found in one place. So if we destroy the sleepers and then the mine-"
"Robotnik can't make any more of them." Sonia said answering.
"Great, let's juice! But" Sonic said and yawned, tiredly. "maybe I need a little nap first.
Outside Robotropolis Cyrus stuck a mine on an entrance pod and the pod to a long tunnel opened.
"Very nice!" Manic said.
"Indeed a compliment coming from you, Manic." Cyrus said.
"Yeah, well when you guys are done patting ech other's back, how about we go in—" Sonic said and zoomed through the tunnel.
She opened a vent, and inside was Lionel creating new sleepers.
"Dad?" Cyrus said and they arrived inside the room.
"Priority 1: Hedgehog." a robot said and pointed at him.
The robot encroached the heroes and Sonic zoomed behind her while Cyrus stepped back in agony.
"Dad, no!" Cyrus said.
"Now!" Sonia said and they unleash their instruments.
They all fired lasers at the cyborg which turned back into normal.
"Cyrus?! Son!" Lionel said, rushed over and hugged Cyrus.
Manic winked and thumbs up, while Sonic rubbed her stomach.
"Uh... Cyrus, the effect only lasts a few minutes." Sonia said.
"Right. Dad, we have to destroy these sleepers. Can you help us." Cyrus said with tears showing.
"I can, but Robotnik will just make me create more." Lionel said.
"That's why we're going to destroy the mine." Sonia said.
"Well then, let's get to work."
"Alright. I've had my nap and I'm ready for a good fight!" Sonic said and held Lionel and Cyrus' shoulders.
"You won't have to. Not with one of these." Lionel said, picked up a gold card and showed it to the team. "Security overrides; gives you the same access as Robotnik."
"Cool!"
["Have It All Again".]
"Cyrus, There's only about two more minutes." Sonia said, patted Cyrus' shoulder worried and he shed a tear from his eyes.
"We have to go, dad, but I promise you someday…" Cyrus said, sniffed and exhaled.
"I know, son. I'm so proud of you. Keep up the fight." Lionel said.
"Hey, Lionel. Mind if I borrow that card? It might come in real handy." Sonic said and walked over to the gold card.
"Sure, Sonic. But it's only good until Robotnik changes the code."
"But in the meantime, it's that cool!" she said, took the card and zoomed away.
Sonia and Manic followed her, while Cyrus walked in to speak to his father.
"See you, Pap." Cyrus said.
"Go! Before I change." Lionel said, hugged each other and Cyrus walks away.
Later Sonic, Sonia and Manic hid while looking around a depot full of air-crafts. Cyrus eventually joined them and Sonic bravely walked across the area followed by everyone else. Suddenly, two Swatbots appeared and encroach the group.
"Hold." a Swatbot said.
"No," Sonic said and showed the override. "you hold!" she said and the Swatbots stood opposite and looked at each other.
"I could get used to this." Manic said and walked across the bots.
The group walked up the steps to one of the air-crafts and Sonic put the card on the scanner and the door opened.
"Our chariot awaits!" Sonic said.
"Welcome to Robotnik airlines! Not a name, but a nice ride!" Sonia said and everyone else laughed.
At the Tritranium site.
"Good news, sir. We've hit a large vein of Tritranium. Look!" Sleet said and showed a glowing piece of gold to Robotnik.
"Excellent." Robotnik said.
"Enough Tritranium to fuel a thousand sleepers, sir. Huh?"
"Too bad you won't be able to use it." Sonic said sneaking in and a bright flash of light covered the screen, which rumbled.
Sleet gasped and tried to catch the gold nugget.
"What's going on?!" Robotnik asked dizzy.
"Just some housecleaning. My sister Sonia thought you had too much Tritranium." Sonic said and Robotnik pressed a button which opened the doors and two swatbots appear at the other end.
"Seize him!" he said and the Swatbots moved.
Sonic grinned and showed her Override to the bots, making them walk back inside the cell.
"Don't leave home without it." she said quietly, dashed and took the gold from Sleet. "Ooh, I'm gonna get a big bang out of this!" she said, left the spaceship and arrived where Manic and the Camper Van was while Sonia and Cyrus met up.
"We blew it all!" Sonia said.
"Almost all, sis. Pull!" Sonic said and threw the nugget up in the air.
Sonia skeet shot it and destroyed it. Manic banged on the drums which created cracks in the land and quickly got back to the Camper Van with everyone else. Crack in the land form behind him and destroyed the Tritranium site as the Camper Van zoomed to freedom.
"Hedgehogs!" Robotnik said, fired up his spaceship and took off as an explosion covered the screen.
"Yep, you just gotta love that." Sonic said and the Camper Van drove off.
