The next day, Drogon screeches as he blasts the army in a ball of fire, with Aldarra riding astride him. Rhaegal and Viserion also blast the undead, melting the ice and sending the undead soldiers sinking slowly into the icy depths of a frozen over lake. The dragons destroy the army in swath after swath, taking out thousands of undead at a turn.
Above the frozen lake, a white walker unsheathes an ice spear from his mount, and hands it to the Night King, who strides forward. The dragons continue to burn everything, while trying to reduce their numbers.
Meanwhile, the Night King targets Drogon with a rider mounted on it. The Night King comes closer and readies his spear. He launches it at the flying dragon, and it bounces off the armor, the dragon erupting in flame where the spear had come from. The ground around the Night King is incinerated and all the wights around him are turned to ashes. The ice crumbles, and more wight's bodies fall into the icy water while Rhaegal flies overhead. A white walker retrieves another spear. The Night King strides forward and readies his spear. The Night King takes aim at the dragon and hurls the spear. Drogon's evasive twist dodges the spear. Aldarra looks back on the battlefield below. She sees the Night King watching her. She tells the dragons to fly away now. Drogon flies off back over the wall to safety. Aldarra estimated roughly a quarter of the army is reduced.
She dismounts Drogon and put her head on him telling him that he did a fantastic job avoiding the spears and how glad she was that his armor protected him. The dragon chittered in response. She thanked the other dragons also personally. She was so proud of them.

On a ship sailing for King's Landing, Aldarra and Jorah walk into Jon's cabin and sit waiting for him to wake up. Jon wakes up, bleary. As the room comes into focus, he sees Aldarra sitting next to him and watching over him.
Jon weakly smiles at her and said, "I didn't think this would have happened. I knew it was dangerous." She shakes her head. He takes her hand.
He said,"I wish I could take it back. I wish we'd never gone."
She said, "I don't, you should have no regrets. If you hadn't gone I wouldn't have seen. You have to see it to know and now they can't dispute it. Now they will all know. I just wish you hadn't got hurt so badly. The dragons and I reduced their numbers by a quarter. Do you understand?" Jon nods.
Aldarra said, "We are going to destroy the Night King and his army. We'll do it together with Tyrion when the time comes. You have my word."
He said weakly with tears in his eyes, "Thank you, Aldarra, for everything you have done to help me and my sister." She smiled and kissed his forehead.
She said softly, "You're welcome, my adopted brother." Aldarra patted his hair.
He said, "Sansa was right about you. She said you're the most amazing person she has ever met." She blushed.
Aldarra said, "Don't you worry about a thing, Jon. We will heal you up and get you back on your feet, your Grace. I'll make sure of it. What about those who swore allegiance to you, we have to give them a reason to fight?"
Jon said weakly smiling, "You can call me Jon. You're entitled. You're right, you are family. The bannermen will all come to see you for what you are, just like Sansa and I." They clasp hands.
She said humbly, covering his hand with her other one, "I hope I deserve it."
Jon said, "You do." She tries to pull her hand away, but Jon won't let go. Aldarra smiled and put their clasped hands to her cheek.
She said softly, "You just rest. I'm watching over you." He closes his eyes, exhausted. She looked over at Jorah and smiled.
Jorah said quietly, "You're a great comfort, Aldarra, and a kind woman."
Aldarra said, "I have to take care of all of you. I have no family other than my husband, my son, and those who came before. I know what it's like to be alone in this world. I can't stand it when my people are lost. I bring them in and make a home for them. Then they will belong somewhere and to someone."
Jorah took one of her hands and looked her in the eyes and said, "You are a special woman, Aldarra. I am glad to watch over you in return." She smiled at him and squeezed his hand.

Below the deck of the ship, Sandor descends a staircase into a dark hold, bearing a lantern. He advances carefully and stops at a crate. He gives one knock, and the wight screeches in a frenzy, shaking his crate prison. Satisfied that the wight lives, Sandor turns and exits.

In Winterfell, Maester Wolkan said, "My lady." Maester Wolkan hands a scroll to Sansa, who reads it.
Maester Wolkan asks, "My lady?"
Sansa said, "It's an invitation. To King's Landing."
—--
Brienne said, "My lady, you are the Lady of Winterfell."
Sansa said, "I am, and you will represent my interest at this gathering as you see them."
Brienne said, "They invited you, they want you there. Lady Aldarra will be there too."
Sansa said, "I will not set foot in King's Landing while Tywin Lannister is Hand of the King. If they want another Stark prisoner, they can come and take me here. Until then, I'll remain where I belong. I have work to do here." Sansa tends the fire.
Brienne said, "It's not safe."
Sansa said, "Ser Jaime will be there. You said he treated you honorably before."
Brienne said, "I'm not worried about me. It's not safe leaving you with Littlefinger."
Sansa said, "I have many guards who'd happily imprison him or behead him whether or not you're here."
Brienne said, "And you trust their loyalty? You trust he hasn't been speaking to them behind your back? Let me at least leave Podrick behind to watch over you. He has become a competent swordsman."
Sansa said getting frustrated, "I do not need to be watched over or minded or cared for. I'm not a child, I am the Lady of Winterfell and I am home. This is the safest place for me."
Brienne said, "My lady. I sworn an oath to protect you and your sister. If I abandon you…"
Sansa said, "The trip to King's Landing is long, Lady Brienne, and you won't be traveling on summer roads. The sooner you leave, the better your chances of making it on time."
Brienne said, "Yes, Milady." Brienne leaves the room. Sansa watches her go, and ponders.

Sansa enters Arya's room. She sees Littlefinger's dagger. She is searching for something. She opens a satchel and finds a human mask. And another. Arya appears silently in the doorway behind her
Arya said, "Not what you're looking for?"
Sansa gasps and turns around said, "I have hundreds of men here at Winterfell, all loyal to me."
Arya said, "They're not here now."
Sansa asks, "What are these?"
Arya said, "My faces."
Sansa said, "Where did you get them?"
Arya said, "In Braavos, while I was training to be a faceless man."
Sansa asked, "What does that mean?"
Arya said, "Back in Braavos, before I got my first face, there was a game I used to play. The game of faces. It's simple: I ask you a question about yourself and you try to make a lie sound like the truth. If you fool me, you win. If I catch a lie, you lose. Let's play."
Sansa said, "I don't want to play."
Arya said, "How do you feel about Jon being king? Is there someone else you feel should rule the North instead of him?"
Sansa asked, "Those faces, what are they?"
Arya said, "You want to do the asking? Are you sure? The game of faces didn't turn out so well for the last person who asked me questions."
Sansa said getting frustrated, "Tell me what they are!"
Arya said, "We both wanted to be other people when we were younger. You wanted to be a queen. To sit next to a handsome young king on the Iron Throne. I wanted to be a knight, to pick up a sword like my father and go off to battle. Neither of us got to be the other person, did we? The world doesn't just let girls decide what they are going to be. But I can now. With the faces I can choose. I can become someone else. Speak in their voice, live in their skin. I can even become you." Arya takes the dagger from the table. She approaches Sansa.
Arya said, "I wonder what it would feel like to wear those pretty dresses. To be the Lady of Winterfell. All I'd need to find out is your face."
Arya flips the dagger and hands it to Sansa. Sansa gasps, and takes the dagger in disbelief. Arya exits.

One of the ships that Stannis gave Jon, rests at the docks of King's Landing. More Ironborn ships approach.
—--
On the deck of Jon's ship, Tyrion who was picked up in White Harbor stands on deck, looking to the distance as the Ironborn ships sails in. Tyrion joins Jon, Jorah and Davos on the foredeck. They picked up Davos in White Harbor and let Aldarra off at Dragonstone.
Jon asks looking at all the people and dwellings crammed together, "How many people live here?"
Tyrion said, "A million, give or take."
Jon said, "That's more people than the entire North crammed into that. Why would anyone want to live that way?"
Tyrion said, "There's more work in the city. And the brothels are far superior."
—--
Tywin, Varys and Jamie stand in a royal chamber.
Tywin asks, "Is she with them?"
Varys said, "No one has seen her yet to confirm."
Tywin asked, "And the rest of them?"
Jamie said, "They're on their way to the dragon pit now. Perhaps, she is with them."
Tywin said, "Including your brother?"
Jamie said, "Yes."
Tywin said, "Come, it's time for us to meet our guests." They both leave with Varys.
—--
Jon, Tyrion, Jorah, and Davos walk ahead of their guards. Sandor are further back.
Jon asked, "Why did they build it?"
Jorah said, "Dragons don't understand the difference between what is theirs and what isn't. Land, livestock, children... Letting them roam free around a city was a problem."
Tyrion said, "I imagine it was a sad joke at the end. An entire arena for a few sickly creatures smaller than dogs. But in the beginning, when it was home to Balerion the Dread, it must have been the most dangerous place in the world."
Lannister guards approach, led by Bronn and accompanied by Brienne and Podrick.
Davos said, "Maybe it still is."
Bronn said, "Welcome, my lords. Your friends arrived before you did." Brienne and Sandor exchange a look.
Bronn said, "I've been sent to escort you all to the meeting."
The Lannister guards part, clearing the path. Tyrion nods to Jon, who takes the lead. The guards all move forward, followed by the rest.
The wight's crate is drawn by horses, en route to the meeting site.
A Lannister soldier asks, "What's in there?"
Sandor said, "Fuck off."
Brienne said, "I thought you were dead."
Sandor said, "Not yet. You came pretty close."
Brienne said, "I was only trying to protect her."
Sandor said, "You and me both."
Brienne said, "She's alive. Arya."
Sandor asked, "Where?"
Brienne said, "Winterfell."
Sandor asked, "Who's protecting her if you're here?"
Brienne said, "The only one that needs protecting is the one that gets in her way."
Sandor said, "It won't be me."
Tyrion said, "Here we are the heroes of Blackwater Bay. Strange place for a reunion."
Podrick said, "It is, my lord."
Tyrion said, "I don't think I'm anyone's lord anymore, Podrick. Save the titles for Ser Bronn of the Blackwater."
Bronn said, "Don't you worry about me. I'm doing all right. Looking after myself."
Tyrion said, "It's good to see you again."
Bronn said, "Yeah, you, too."
Outside the dragon pit, Sandor attends to the cart transporting the wight.
Sandor said out loud, "Anyone touches it, I'll kill you first."
In the dragon pit, The party enters the ruin of the dragon pit. Lannister banners decorate the walls, and the stage has been furnished with open tents for the summit. In attendance are Oberyn Martell, Olenna and Mace Tyrell. Everyone files in, Lannisters and bannermen, to the right, Northerns to the left.
Bronn said, "Come on, Pod. Let's you and me go have a drink while the fancy folks talk, eh?"
Brienne gives her permission to Podrick, who exits with Bronn. Jon watches them go.
Jorah and Tyrion look around. Sandor paces.
Sandor said, "I left this shit city because I didn't want to die in it. Am I going to die in this shit city?"
Tyrion said, "You might."
Sandor said, "And this is all your idea. Seems every bad idea has some Lannister cunt behind it."
Tyrion said, "And some Clegane cunt to help them see it through. Don't call Aldarra names or you will die in this shit city and I may help her." Sandor rolled his eyes and grunted. He thought, 'This was her idea?"
Tywin enters with the Mountain, King Tommen, Queen Margaery, Euron, Varys and Jamie. Jon and Tywin exchange glances. So do Brienne and Jamie, Tywin and Tyrion. The royal party seats themselves, and Sandor and the Mountain exchange looks. The Cleganes walk to confront one another before the dais.
Sandor said, "Remember me? Yeah, you do. You're even fucking uglier than I am now. What did they do to you? Doesn't matter. That's not how it ends for you, brother. You know who's coming for you. You've always known."
Sandor walks away. The Mountain watches him go, then takes his place behind Tommen and Margaery.
Tywin asked, "Where is she?"
Tyrion said, "She'll be here soon."
Tywin asked, "Didn't travel with you?"
Tyrion said, "No. Not the entire way."
Everyone waits. Then, dragons screech. Jamie and Euron stand to watch the dragons arrive. Drogon lands powerfully next to the stage and roars. Tyrion turns to look at Tywin. Jon and Davos look on as Drogon roars again, lowering his head to reveal Aldarra on his back. Drogon climbs down to the dragon pit, and Aldarra dismounts. She is dressed all in black with her long black fur coat. She pats on Drogon and walks to the dais as Drogon flies away with his brothers. Euron leers at her. Aldarra and Tywin eye one another as Aldarra smiles and takes her seat between Tywin and Tyrion.
Tywin grumbled to her, "We've been here for some time."
Aldarra said, "My apologies, my Lord husband. You must give a lady her fancy entrance." He smirks. Aldarra looks at Tyrion and winks. He smirks at her and how she handles Tywin. Tyrion who stands in response.
