Chaos Sonic approached Leader, Renegade and Rebel.

"Heads up, furbag!" Chaos Sonic said and charged straight towards Leader, punching her and sending her flying to a wall while Renegade and Rebel jumped back in fear.

"Not another Metal." Leaders said and Chaos Sonic grabbed onto her and she twitched thinking about the first Metal she met.

Sonic was still running on the conveyor belt.

"Hang on!" Knuckles said and she pressed the Robot Generator's shutdown button with one millisecond remaining.

The Robot Generator stopped working and the Robotropolis city lights dim out while Knuckles ran on the conveyor belt.

"Don't worry, I'll have you out of there in no time." he said and she was stuck in a green bolt of light as if she were captured then the Robot Generator fell apart and she started to fall. "Gotcha!"

"Sonic, are you all right-" Tails said and yelled as an orb started spinning and capturing energy via lightning bolts.

Metal Sonic was seen in the orb.

"Something's moving in there!" Knuckles said and Metal Sonic started to awaken.

The orb exploded and Metal Sonic escaped, appearing before Sonic.

"It's a robot that looks exactly like Sonic!" Tails said.

"It came out of that sphere." Knuckles said and Metal Robotnik's laughter was heard via reverb.

"And another thing…" Metal Robotnik said and laughter continued.

"What is that?"

"It's pretty." Tails said while strings of blue light appear and Metal Robotnik started to rise from the lights and laughed again. "I-I-I think it's the ghost of Metal Robotnik!" he said and Metal Robotnik kept laughing.

It kept rising, but was being held by Robotnik's robots. The robots started to run away as Metal Robotnik fell and got destroyed.

"It just broke apart." Tails said.

"This way! Let go of my hand." Sara said.

"I'm sorry." Robotnik said.

"Watch it!" she yelled.

"Huh?" Sonic said and Sara pulled on a side of Robotnik's mustache. "Sara!"

"What are Sara and Robotnik doing out here together!?" Tails asked.

"I get it! So you two were both Metal Robotnik." Knuckles said and Robotnik got embarrassed while Sara started whimpering and cried.

"Look at that, Knuckles. Now you made her cry."

"No, it wasn't my fault! Metal Robotnik and the Robot Generator going haywire were all part of Robotnik's evil scheme." Sara said.

"So what about this plot, Robotnik?" Sonic asked and Robotnik hopped out of the remains of Metal Robotnik and started to make faces at her.

"You fell for my trap! You came all the way here, and now you'll die here. Good job Sonic!" Robotnik said.

"What did you say?" she said and rushed to him, but Metal Sonic appeared and stopped her.

"This is terrible!" Tails said.

"I, Doctor Robotnik, scientist extraordinaire, have finally completed my greatest invention ever. I call it the Hyper Metal Sonic." Robotnik said.

"That robot may look like him, but he'll never be a match for the real Sonic!" Tails said and Robotnik laughed.

"Tails, this should be apparent to you. Sonic wasn't being electrocuted earlier. Instead I was extracting her life data and collecting all the information essential to my creation. Now, Hyper Metal Sonic is ready!"

"What are you planning to do with a stupid fake Sonic anyway?" Sara asked.

"I'm going to use Metal to destroy the real Sonic, and then I can completely destroy the Land of the Sky!"

"What did you say? There's no way you'll ever get away with this!"

Then a random Robotnik robot appeared and she screamed.

"Release Sara now, Robotnik!" Sonic said and Robotnik chuckled.

"Ah, but first you must fight him. Go get her, Hyper Metal Sonic!" Robotnik said.

"Everybody stand back. Nobody try to help me. I have to destroy this imposter!" she said and Metal Sonic revved up and started his rocket.

"Woooaah!" he said and she dodged Metal Sonic's attack.

"Knockoff? Oof, that stings!" Chaos Sonic said, winked and tapped his metallic head. "From the top of my titanium reinforced head to my industrial-grade tookus!" he said and threw Leader up to a ceiling.

She started to fall back down, to which Renegade and Rebel join forces again, about to attack Chaos Sonic, but he kicked Leader away, and knocked down Renegade and Rebel at the same time. Chaos Sonic did a hand-stand and winked again. Then Leader was thrown to a far edge of the Yoke HQ, and almost fell off.

"Woah, woah, woah!" Leader said, started maintaining her balance and looked at Chaos Sonic.

"The name is Chaos Sonic, like regular Sonic, but with twice the charm" Chaos Sonic said and winked. "and none of the FAILURE!"

"Failure? You've got the wrong hedgehog, pal!"

"Au contraire, blue-hair! I know a fox that might disagree with you."

"Another trap... I knew he would set us up!" Renegade said hurt.

"That's a lie!" Leader said.

"I was not programmed to lie!" Chaos Sonic said, jumped towards Leader from a far distance and punched her.

Eggforcers were blasting lasers at Renegade and Rebel, but fought back using their own laser guns.

"Looks like our pal... set us up!" Renegade said.

"No! Nine wouldn't do that and you know it! I've gotta get Nine out of there!" Leader said.

"Forget that two-timing punk! Get in, get the shards, get out! That's it!"

"Some of us are fast enough... Ow!"

"Wow, looking at you is like looking in a mirror!" Chaos Sonic said mockingly. "Only I'm all sad and pathetic!"

"You're gonna be sad in a minute!"

"Come on! Ugh, I can't take it! You're just so tragic and smelly! Here, let me help."

"Please, stop talking. Ah!"

"Gotcha! Saved your life."

"Woah!"

"Have I told you my three-step plan yet? Oh, you're gonna love it."

"Hey!"

"Step 1, beat you to a pulp, obviously. Step 2, rebrand!"

"Ugh, this guy just won't stop talking. First of all, stop talking! And second..."

"Ah, ah, ah! You didn't hear my step three. I diversify! T-shirts, pop albums, a chili dog flavored soft drink called "Chaos Sonic's Chaos Tonic"!" he said and she groaned.

Meanwhile.

"Nice one." Rebel said.

"That the last of 'em?" Renegade asked.

"Better be. Sonic looks like he could use a hand."

"Spoke too soon... Classic."

"Help Sonic! I'll hold them off as long as I can."

"I ain't leaving you."

"Yes, you are. That's an order. Go!"

Back with Leader and Chaos Sonic.

"What's the matter? Stage fright? Don't worry. The show's almost over, and you've had a good run, but it's time to take your final bow." Chaos Sonic said but Renegade punched him.

"Aw, yeah!" Leader said.

"I think you're getting rusty, Blue. This guy ain't so tough." Renegade said.

"Two-on-one? Tsk-tsk. That's cheating. Guess I'll have to even the odds." Chaos Sonic said.

"Stand still!"

"Missed me, missed me, now here comes my fisty!"

"Ugh, he's tough. Maybe I can run down his battery. Hey, you want to be the new me?" Leader said.

"I am the new you."

"Well, how about a race?"

"Oh, I love a race!" Chaos Sonic said and clapped.

"See if you can keep up with the original." she said and they blast off.

"Hm." Renegade said then lasers started blasting in the distance.

Back at Yoke HQ.

"What have I done?" Nine asked.

"A great service... for us, that is." Eggman said.

"Mighty charitable of you, selling out your blue chum like that. Even if it was just a slip of the tongue." Done-It said.

"The hedgehog has met his match. Chaos Sonic will destroy him! And with our endless supply of power, the resistance is all but over. Now that we've seen what the shard can do on a small scale, what say we widen our lens? Personally, I've always felt my sector could use more smokestacks."

"Must you be so pedestrian? What we need is a museum! Something to commemorate our achievements. Colonnades, archways, friezes, busts…-" Deep started but was cut off.

"Theme park." Don't said.

"Ugh. Save it for the bridge and tunnel crowd."

"Theme. Park."

"Museum!"

"Smokestacks!" Eggman said.

"Theme park." Don't said.

"Everyone pipe down! Staying local was never part of the plan. Conquer, then divide, remember?" Done-It said.

"The old man is right... for once. However, with this much shard power at our disposal, we don't have to conquer those worlds... We can transform them into whatever we want, just like that. No more oceans, no more jungles. With the proper adjustments to the Shatterdrive, the portals could stay open as long as we need. We wouldn't have to go anywhere! Imagine universal domination from the comfort of our own home!" Eggman said.

"Uh, I wouldn't do that." Nine said.

"Who's asking you?"

"The portals aren't natural. Keeping them open will have repercussions on a universal scale."

"The varmint makes sense." Done-It said.

"What makes him the expert?" Don't asked.

"I invented the Shatterdrive technology." Nine said.

"And we're improving it. Pay no attention to the squirrel." Deep said and there were beeps as the shutter closed.

"Now, where was I? Ah, yes. Why fight over one New Yoke when we can have five?" Eggman said and they all started cackling.

Back in New Yoke City Leader was running, Super Sonic running mechanically.

"Hello again! Gotcha." Chaos Sonic said.

"Stop." Leader said.

"Stop."

"Seriously."

"Seriously."

"Knock it off!"

"Knock it off!"

"Stop copying me!"

"Stop copying me! Boo! And down goes Sonic! He can taste his impending defeat, which I'm guessing tastes like concrete."

"Ugh. If I'm half as annoying as this guy, I really need to make some changes."

"Let's start by changing your face!"

"Ugh... At least I have a face!"

"I got to hand it to you, you don't just lose, you lose epically! Face it, you'll never beat me! You're too slow."

"Quit your yapping and come get me."

"Oh, no." Chaos Sonic said, clanked and crashed.

"Bus-ted!" she said and looked at Chaos Sonic thinking.

Metal Sonic kept beating up Sonic.

"Metal! Stop it!" Sara said and Sonic kicked Metal Sonic into the ground, and the ice started to crumble.

Tails, Knuckles, and Sara were screaming in horror.

"If that ice bridge gets destroyed, then we're doomed! Knuckles, stop the lava!" Tails said.

"Uhh... I... dunno.." Knuckles said.

"Would you try it for me, brave man?" Sara asked and kissed him on the cheek.

"Right! Yes ma'am!" he said and bashed into the ice with lava hurdling toward him while Tails and Sara were cheering him on. "Huh? My hat's on fire! Help!"

Then Sonic collapsed to the ground and Sara and Tails gasp. Sonic struggled to get up while Metal Sonic kicked her on the head and slid into the icy wall. Then Metal Sonic grabbed her and choked her.

"No, Sonic! What are you doing to my Sonic! Rrrr, this stupid thing looks like Sonic, but it's bad!" Sara said.

"I think I've got it! This plan had better work…" Tails said and she kept kicking Metal Sonic.

"I'm not gonna let you destroy the Land of the Sky… Grrrrr; 'cause then I'll have to marry Robotnik!"

"Come on! That's it!" he said and Metal Sonic started to go haywire. "Get him now Sonic!"

"Right!" Sonic said and Sonic Spin Dashed into Metal Sonic. "Okay."

"Sonic!"

"Good work Tails, you saved us!" she said and he chuckled. "Who is that?"

"It doesn't look like Robotnik's ship."

"That's daddy's rocket!" Sara said.

"What did you say!?" Sonic asked to see the President and Old Man Owl in the rocket and the President trying to get out. "What's wrong? I think the door's stuck!"

"That's bad! The heat from the lava could make it explode!" Tails said.

"Sara, you wait here. Come on, let's go!" she said and the rocket was on fire, and the President was terrified.

"Daddy?" Sara said.

"The President's timing couldn't be worse."

"If that thing explodes, then we'll all be in trouble!" Tails said and Metal Sonic attacked them both. "It's Metal!"

"Step aside and let us through, Metal. We've got to get to that ship! Tails!"

"Sonic! You get the President out of that ship and I'll take care of Robotnik!" he said and a laser was shot at his navigator.

"Robotnik!"

"Trying to overload Metal's system by assimilating Sonic's personality? Impressive! Luckily, you're too late to be a problem. Metal, destroy Sonic!" Robotnik said and Metal Sonic kicked Sonic into the Egg Mobile.

Sonic moved away as Metal Sonic rammed into the Egg Mobile. Then Knuckles popped up from the side of the ice wall.

"Aah!" he said.

Sonic was running on the said wall when Knuckles popped up of one of the holes.

"Aah!" he said and she hoped over the said hole running away from Metal Sonic.

Then she hoped on Knuckles' head and he had a bump on his head and gave her a thumbs down.

"Hurry! Hurry up!" Tails said and the President's rocket exploded.

"Daddy!" Sara said.

"Mr. President! Can you hear me?" Sonic asked.

Metal Sonic was carrying the President and Old Man Owl.

"Sonic!" Tails said.

"Sonic, are you all right?" Knuckles asked.

"Metal!" Sonic said and Metal Sonic dropped the President and Old Man Owl and a crater piece hit Metal Sonic. "No!"

"Don't do it, Sonic! What are doing!? Stop! Sonic!" Tails said while she hung on to the slanting rock and Metal climbed his way up to her.

"Grab ahold of my hand!"

"Wait! Don't do it Sonic, he'll drag you under with him!" Knuckles said as Metal Sonic was about to take Sonic's hand, but slapped it away.

"Huh?"

"There is only one Sonic." Metal Sonic said in monotone.

"No! Metal!"

"Don't do it Sonic!" Knuckles said as Metal Sonic sunk into the lava and melted.

"METAL!"

Leader shook her head and ran to find the others.

Back at Yoko HQ.

"Doctors! Rejoice! For today, we demonstrate the true power of the Shards…" Eggman said.

"Must you make a speech every time? Just do the thing." Don't said and scoffed.

"Fine. Whatever. Dr. Deep. Begin Operation "Chaos Terraformation". Start it up!"

"Energy extraction from the Shards is underway. Over to you, Dr. Babble." Deep said.

"That should do the trick."

"The Chaos Council." Rusty said.

"At last! Our empire blooms." Done-It said with lasers blasting.

Back in New Yoke.

"Finally. We're done here. Oh, come on." Renegade said and heard Sonic spin noises.

"Sorry I'm late." Leader said.

"Where's Metal 3?" Renegade asked and she smirked.

"He had a bus to catch."

"Nice."

"What are we supposed to do about these? That can't be good." Rebel said.

"We ain't going to be able to punch our way out of this one."

"The sooner we get the Shards, the sooner we can stop this." Leader said. "Let's go!"

"Hey, sis. Miss me? Now, where were we? Oh, yeah. Now this, this is fun..." Chaos Sonic said.

Back in Yoke HQ.

"I'm picking up at least two more Shard signatures undiscovered somewhere in the Void. Which means…" Eggman said.

"To each his own Shatterverse." Deep said.

"And then?" Don't said and Babble baby babbled.

"Here, hear!" Done-It said and coughed.

Then they all cheer with metal clanking.

Back in New Yoke.

"Feel free to add this butt-kicking to your long list of failures, Sonic! You want to know the biggest difference between you and me?" Chaos Sonic said.

"She's got us." Rebel said.

"And you're on your own." Renegade said.

"Nah, friends are a weakness." Chaos Sonic said.

"No!" Leader said.

"Remember, Sonic, this is all on you."

"Huh?" Rebel said.

"Leave them alone!" Leader said.

"After I'm done with you, I'm going to destroy your friends." Chaos Sonic said.

"Knuck- Woah!"

Back in Yoke HQ.

"And you, Doctor..." Eggman said rumbling.

"What was that? An earthquake?" Don't asked.

"No, bigger. A ripple in time and space." Eggman said and Babble chuckled.

"The varmint was right, guess that's what happens when one goes drilling holes in reality. You overeager fools!" Done-It said.

"Whatever it is, we can fix it later. No sense stopping now."

"These fools are going to tear the Shatterverse apart. Enough is enough." Nine said.

Back in New Yoke.

"Ah! Take this!" Chaos Sonic said.

"Hey, Sonic, are you there?" Nine asked.

"Sorry, pal, but I'm a little busy at the moment. Woah!" Leader said.

"I have a plan. Follow my directions and lead it to me."

"You sure?"

"Positive. But you got to hurry."

"What else is new? Hey, slow poke!"

"Sonic, wait!" Rebel said.

"I'm starting to think she likes traps." Renegade said.

Meanwhile.

"Quick, take a right. And a left. Take a right, then up the stairs! Exit the top floor! The lab is at the end of the hall! Lead him this way!" Nine said.

"We did it!" Leader said.

"I'm sorry. The Chaos Council used me. I didn't..."

"Hey, I never doubted you for a second. And that proves why. Only a true friend could pull off a save like that." she said. "Now how are we gonna carry them all? They seem extra Shardy right now."

"This will only take a moment."

Back in Yoke HQ.

"Ah!" Babble said.

Back in New Yoke.

"I'm the best!" Chaos Sonic said.

"This case should hold the Shards and contain their energy. The more the Shards interact, the more volatile and potentially catastrophic they could become." Nine said.

"Genius. As always." Leader said and they high five. "Yes!"

"Aha! Stop right there, varmints!" Done-It said and they groaned.
