Hello my lovely readers. Sapphira Winters coming to you with a bit of an old story of mine. I say old because this story was previously posted back in 2018 and had received a lot of love. However there were (and still are) some unsavory bullying individuals on this website that have harassed me and have wrongfully removed the story despite it getting a lot of love and support. Simply for the claims of it not being an original story with an original plot (So a woman who suddenly finds out that she is a mermaid despite living among humans her whole life and suddenly wants to solve the mystery of what happened to her own biological mother is considered unoriginal?) So i've decided to conduct a bit of a test. I will post this one Chapter out of my whole story and if they start to harras me again. Then I will move the story elsewhere and upload the whole story on a different website. So for now, sit back, relax and enjoy the story.
Chapter 1: Prologue A Princess Is Found.
The Ocean, the vast blue gem that pirates and sailors alike vow to conquore and travel seeking the vast riches the world has to offer. One of the most seeked after riches the ocean has to offer are indeed beautiful but deadly creatures. Creatures that are beautiful as angels themselves but deadly as ole Davy Jones himself. These creatures are know as the sirens of the seas or better known as mermaids. These mermaids are beautiful to gaze upon but should one be so unlucky enough as to be near one, they shall find themselves grabbed by their clothes, dragged into the ocean, and feast upon like a cook quail.
However there are some mermaids who are not deadly like their sisters. Some of them end up falling in love rather than feasting upon the poor lads flesh. One of these mermaids was queen Alara who ended up falling in love with a sailor by the name of Jason. Alara was a very beautiful mermaid with bright wavvy blonde hair that shone like pure gold, eyes as blue as sapphires and a mermaid tail as red as rubies.
She fell in love with a very beautiful human man named Jason and she loved him. Jason had fair color skin, curly hair the color of black ink and eyes as green as emeralds. From this love, a beaitiful baby girl was born. She had her father's pale fair skin and super curly inky black hair and her mother's beautiful blue eyes. The two were happy as they gazed upon their newborn daughter with all the love in the world. However their happiness was not to last. Not long after the baby was born, they were surounded by mermaids who did not share Alara and Jason's idea of love between humans and mermaids.
Jason voluntered to hold them off while Alara escaped with their child. With tears in her eyes, Alara said goodbye to her love before escapeing into a secret tunnel that was located in the lagoon she gave birth in. The last thing Alara heard were the pained screams of agony of her lover dying. While she escaped, her child began to wail in discomfort as if senseing her mother's distress. Alara quickly hummed a lullaby to sooth her newborn daughter. It was My Jolly Sailor Bold, a tune sanged by all mermaids and sailors alike and she loved it. The baby's wails quited to wimpers before falling alseep. With her baby now alseep, Alara swam as fast as she could to get away from her murderous sisters to keep her child safe.
She suddenly came upon a burning ship and off in the distance, she could see another ship aproaching the burning ship. She did not want to get captured by sailors but she also didn't want her child to get feast upon by her murderous sisters. She saw a small basket so with a tearful goodbye, she put her baby in the basket and wrapped her in white blankets to hide the new born baby's sapphire blue mermaid tail that would surely turn into legs when dry, she put a small gold seashell shaped locket in the basket and gently pushed the basket towards the approaching ship. She hid behind some burnt wood and watched from afar.

Bartholomew Swann, brother of governor Swann was sailing the vast ocean blue with his brother and his wife along with their newborn daughter Elizabeth Swann. Although he was hapoy for his brother, he couldn't help but feel jeolousy for his brother. His wife had died a year earlier and had a misscarage the same year. He had been devastated and was still suffering from her lost. He was pulled out of his reveree once he spoted the burning ship.
He rushed to look out and spotted the burning remains of a sister ship burning up in flames The work of pirates no doubt. He thought with a burning hatred. He was about to walk back down when he heard the sound of wailing. He imdediatly looked over the edge and saw a new born baby wrapped in white floating in a basket. He called his men and got in the small roboat to retrieve the child. He and his men gently retrieved the basket and it's precious cargo and brought the baby aboard.
"It's a miracle the thing survived." His brother said as he held his newborn daughter as she slept. "Yes, it is." Bartholomew Swann said as he held the small newborn. In his honest opinion, she was the most beautiful newborn he had ever layed eyes on, with her fair pale skin and super curly/wavvy inky black hair and the most beautiful blue eyes he had ever laid eyes on.
"So what are we going to do with the child?" Govennor Swann asked as Bartholomew held the newborn. "I'll keep her." He said to which Governnor Swann was quick to voice his concern. "Are you sure brother? I mean, i know she'll never replace the one you lost." Governnor Swann said but Bartholomew was quick to rectify his worries.
"I know but this little one survived the fire her ship had and escape without so much as a burn. I feel like she was meant to find me." Bartholomew said as he gazed at her small sleeping face before his eyes were drawned to the gold seashell shaped locket around her tiny neck. What an odd necklace...must have belonged to the poor child's mother. He thought to himself before he began to rack his mind for names on what to give the child.
One name came to his mind, and it was the name his deceased wife wanted to name their child if they ever had a daughter. Not to mention that the child's Inky black hair was another factor that contributed to the name he chose for her.
"Raven. Her name shall be Raven." Bartholomew Swann said with a smile before he layed the newborn baby now named Raven in the cradle with his sleeping newborn niece Elizabeth."Raven is a beautiful name for her, my brother. I'm sure Sarah would be proud." Govennor Swann said with a smile before leaving the room to tell the ship for them to head back to England, leaving his brother to look after the two sleeping children.
Don't worry my little Raven. I'll protect you, I promise. Bartholomew said as he gently caresed Raven's small cheek as she slept.
