Sooga watched over Pire from the fountain overlooking the city. It was near impossible for guards to get him from up there. A nice perk he learned of on one of his many quests to retrieve Idri when she ran off. Which was far too often. Master Kohga had banned her from Gerudo City many times, but somehow she always got a task or mission that required being there. Master Kohga had a habit of assigning tasks rather hastily… but Sooga would never suggest that aloud. Master Kohga had his reasons.

Both Pire and Idri were in sight from his placement. Idri was off task and drinking with the Gerudo Guard. Seeing them together brought a grimace to Sooga's face. She was purposefully ignoring the task at hand out of spite. Even worse, she was hanging around a guard which would make it far too hard for Sooga to drag her back to her job. He shook his head at the insubordinate actions of his so-called "partner". Pire was mulling around the marketplace and cooking herself a lunch with a woefully lacking amount of banana. Sooga wondered if she was a good cook. One earns some level of skill when cooking for themselves regularly.

Pire left his line of sight and he ducked to relocate without casting his shadow over the whole marketplace. Her movements were odd. She was looking for someone and was on edge. There was mention that she knew of the Yiga. Maybe she worried that they were following her. If only she knew. She was stiffly milling about by one of the less defended side entrances and peered around the desert outside. Sooga hummed curiously as he watched.

The fountain was beginning to soak his clan uniform. It felt nice and it kept the sunlight from baking him, but he had been sitting idly for so long waiting for something to happen that he was about to foil his plan.

Pire finally stopped pacing and seemed relieved to be meeting with an unknown person. They were too far away for Sooga to hear anything. He cursed under breath, looking for Idri. She should have been tailing Pire, but she would have left out of sheer boredom ages ago. Sooga quickly vanished from his preferred hiding place and appeared on the other side of the entrance in his commoner disguise. He had missed most of the conversation while traveling and only caught the tail end.

"Are these the parts you needed?" The unknown woman -a merchant maybe?- replied as she handed a case to Pire. She nodded and picked up a couple of the components to get a better look at them. Gears, screws, springs… guardian parts. Hard for most people to obtain.

"Yeah, this is good… I have a new order for Link. I need the high-quality parts this time. I'm finally on the next step." Pire requested, planting a hefty bag of rupees in the merchant's hand. The merchant woman chuckled and counted out her pay, Sooga grimaced at the Hero's name, an odd sinking within him taking him by surprise.

"I'll let him know if he comes around again. " The merchant said, tying the payment to her belt.

"Thanks for getting these to me… Did you have some trouble bringing these here?" Pire asked, hanging the case on her fingers and resting it on her shoulder.

"I heard the Yiga were getting desperate so I hired some extra help. They took out those fools in no time, I had no trouble at all." The merchant laughed. She shook hands with Pire and left swiftly, hitching a ride on a sand seal not too far away to meet her heavily guarded caravan in the distance. Sooga pressed to the wall and slipped out of view before Pire could spot him from within city limits. He walked through the sand under the shade of the fountain to the other wall, remaining nonchalant. Pire is dealing with rare parts. That sheds some light on her nervous behavior. That odd sinking returned feeling a bit stronger this time.

Now would be the time to tear Idri away from her giantess and get to work. It'd be easier to recruit her now that her business was done. All Sooga had to do was go find her. In a city of women within which he is not allowed.

However, if he put off alerting her she would have spent enough time with her to last another year. Sooga works better alone, after all. And he can take a more… patient route. Alone. With Pire. He can take his time convincing her to join hi- Them. The clan. Sooga paused and regrouped his thoughts, ignoring whatever that was. He knew what he wanted to do. And it'd help Master Kohga in the long run. He was sure of it.

Only a few hours passed while Sooga waited. He caught a clan member on the road and sent him to the camp with an update. Against his better judgment, Sooga was light on the details. We're making progress, following the plan, all is well. The messenger gave a short nod and quickly vanished in the usual smoke and talismans. Good, that will keep them satisfied for a while.

"Hey, Sooga."

He stiffened and snapped his head towards the speaker. Pire smiled up at him, giggling at his startled reaction. He relaxed and rubbed his neck. She had a knack for stealth. She'd make a good recruit.

"You're back early," Sooga said, turning his attention to the travelers on the road. People watching, a preferred past-time. Pire acted like she belonged and leaned on the wall beside him. She folded her arms behind her head, closing her eyes. Her posture was much less rigid now that she had nothing to stress over. Sooga squinted, keeping his eyes forward. A troubling series of thoughts were distracting him. He wouldn't allow it.

"Yeah, I came by to tell ya that I'm ready when you are." She sighed a breath of relief and closed her eyes, basking in the shade. Sooga grunted in reply. The only thing holding them back from leaving was Idri. Perhaps that was a bit more helpful than he first believed. Pire eventually stretched her arms overhead and placed a hand on Sooga's arm. He looked at her from the corner of his eye and raised a brow.

"Since I'm done here, wanna hang out at the Bazaar or something? You get an actual bed and there are things to do. I could go in and tell Idri where we'll be." Pire asked a gentle press of her fingers on his bicep threatening his stone face. It wouldn't be wise to split the group in such a way. Sooga's eyes flickered from her eyes to her hand as his rational side fought with a new, unknown side of him.

"I'll tell Idri. She's supposed to meet us tonight." Sooga finally replied. Pire smiled and took her hand back. Idri was going to give him an earful...
