In the past, Haibara found herself angry and envious on Mother's Day, whenever she was given the chance to the leave the labs as Sherry and walk out into the world, and she'd see children celebrating Mother's Day with their own mothers, it would make her feel those feelings deep down.

But after turning to the good side, she found herself feeling happy and relieved, that some people still have their mothers to celebrate this day. And if Conan was right about what he said (after she nearly strangled to get from him the truth about why Masumi was snooping around her), then her aunt was here.

And she was supposed to be a mother figure, right? But she wasn't sure if she should get her a gift, especially since she didn't exactly help her or her family, and left her for the BO. And she didn't try to contact.

As much as Haibara cared about Agasa and saw him as a father figure, she believed he might not be helpful. So the day before Mother's Day, She decided to ask the most suitable person.

"Ran-neechan, what are you gonna get your mother?", Ayumi asked curiously.

"I wonder what Sonoko-san will get to!", Mitsuhiko added.

"And Sera-san too!", Genta added.

Ran blinked a few times at the kids before smiling slightly, "You guys have no idea what to get your mothers so you're trying to get ideas from others?".

The kids laughed sheepishly, confirming Ran's thoughts.

Conan rolled his eyes at the kids before he looked at the text he received from his paternal cousin, Kuroba Kaito.

"I'll just get her flowers… that's the best thing she deserves for spending most time in Vegas… but I'm thinking of something big with Aoko for her mother…".

Conan could understand why Kaito was bitter towards his mother, because the woman had moved him away from Beika after his father's death, and now she's been leaving him to live alone for a long time. He personally felt the same towards his parents, but at least they were trying unlike Kaito's mom.

"I guess I'll bring Kaasan something more than flowers since she's actually trying…", Conan had texted back.

Haibara on the other hand, was sitting silently next to Conan on the couch, as she watched Ran sit on the floor with the kids around.

"I think Sonoko will buy her mother an expensive perfume, and Sera actually doesn't know what to get her mother….", Ran shrugged, "But I decided on buying my mother a box chocolate with some flowers, she likes it simple.".

"Come on kids, you still have homework to do, we can discuss that later.", Agasa reminded them from where he sat across Conan and Haibara, earning a groan from the three children.

And Haibara took her chance.

"Mouri-san, can you help me solve my homework?", Haibara asked calmly making everyone look at her bewildered.

"Since when do you need….", Conan trailed off once Haibara gave him one of her death glares, making him and anyone else wanting to ask shut up.

Haibara had brought Ran to sit on the table away from the kids and Agasa, and Ran immediately asked once they were away.

"What's wrong Ai-chan?".

"What do you mean?", Haibara asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I know you don't actually need help in homework, you're very smart. So something else must be bothering you and you want to ask me.", Ran said with a warm smile.

' And that idiot you have for a boyfriend thinks all you can do is Karate… I won't be surprised if you actually turned out to know he is Kudo… ', Haibara thought before she sighed heavily, "It's complicated…".

"I have an aunt… who… wasn't exactly in contact with my family before my parents and sister died… but my sister said she had a hard life, and a hard time trying to get in touch, she works in the law enforcement…. And it is kind of dangerous for her….. but now I found out she is actually here in Japan…".

"And you don't know if you should get her a gift or not?", Ran guessed.

"I shouldn't exactly care since she didn't care about me in first place, but the thought has been eating me for the past week…", Haibara sighed.

Ran remained silent for a few moments before she said, "You haven't exactly got in touch with her…. So maybe this is a chance to do so. It'll also be good for you to know if she cared and will try to fix… or if she doesn't, and then you can figure out what to do with your relationship with her from there.".

"Even so…. I don't know what to get her.", Haibara pointed out.

"I don't think anyone hates chocolate or flowers. And if you mean to her something, she'll see anything simple you buy her as something priceless.", Ran said.

Haibara then chose her next words, wondering if it was a good idea to say what she was about to say, but maybe there won't be any danger if they did this carefully.

"My aunt… happens to be your friend, Sera's mother….", Haibara started but stopped once she saw there was no surprise on Ran's face.

"You already knew, didn't you?".

"I cornered Sera to understand why she was snooping around you and Shinichi, since it was suspicious and worrying for me, so she told me everything. And I told her if she bothered you both again, I'll seriously show her why I'm a Karate Champion.".

"Shinichi… so you know everything?".

"Yup.".

"And you've been playing dumb.".

"Aha.".

Haibara then looked at Conan who was sitting further, bored at solving elementary math questions as she mumbled, "And he calls himself a detective and he didn't notice any changes…. He really is an idiot.".

"On that, we can agree.", Ran snickered making Haibara smirk.

"When it comes to how annoying your boyfriend can be, I think we will agree on many things.", she said making Ran smirk back.

"I think we should have a long conversation about that.".

The Next Day,

"What's all of that?", Mary asked curiously as she closed her book once Masumi walked into the room with two gift boxes and some flowers.

"Happy Mother's Day!", Masumi cheered as she placed the gifts across her mother on the table.

'Oh yeah…. I forgot…', Mary thought before she smiled a rare genuine smile at the gifts, as Masumi knelt down to hug her tightly.

"I bought you some books with flowers! I guess I'm the first?", Masumi said.

"Shukichi hadn't sent anything if that is what you're asking.", Mary nodded, 'Nor Shuichi…'.

Masumi's phone beeped, and she pulled it out of her pocket and snickered once she read the message. "Apparently, he forgot and just noticed, so he'll be late to bring his gift.", She explained before she cheered, "Yes! I'm the first to get you a gift for the past five years!".

Mary rolled her eyes at Masumi's antics but said nothing, just happy that Masumi decided to bring her something, especially when she wasn't exactly a good mother the past days, all what she cared about mostly was her daughter getting the antidote.

Masumi and Mary then looked at the door curiously once they heard a knock on the door. They shared a look of confusion before Masumi went to open the door while Mary went to hide in the bathroom, just in case.

Mary leaned close to the door to eavesdrop on what was being said.

"Ran-kun, hey!", She heard Masumi say, making her raise an eyebrow. Why was Masumi's friend here?

And then there was silence, which made Mary narrow her eyes, she tried to listen, but she could hear were just murmurs, as if something was whispering something to someone.

She then heard the door close as Masumi said, "Mama, you can come out, it is safe.".

Mary remained standing for a few seconds, not sure if she should do that, but then she did trust Masumi, so she ended up opening the door and leaving the bathroom, and walked towards the couches again.

"What was that….", She trailed off once she saw Haibara standing with a small box and flowers, Ran standing behind her with a smile, while Masumi just stood aside with a wide smile on her face.

Mary was looking in disbelief at Haibara, because she knew from the moment Masumi showed her a picture of her, who was she. She was Elena's youngest child, and the only living one, Miyano Shiho.

But as much as Mary had wanted to contact her, she couldn't out of the guilt that she couldn't save her sister or her nieces from the organization, especially since Akemi died months ago.

"I was thinking for the past of week… if I should do this or not, considering you didn't do anything for my sister and I….", Haibara said coldly making Mary slightly wince.

"But Oneechan said…. That the Organization were the ones making things hard, keeping us away from you, and trailing you off our tracks…. But you never actually stopped looking…. Even your annoying son, Akai Shuichi, told her so… So, I put that in mind and decided…. That I'll make Mother's Day… either be start for a connection with you, or ending that connection forever.", Haibara continued but this time with a much softer tone than before.

She placed the gifts next to Masumi's on the table, before looking back at the silent Mary.

Mary then let out a sigh, "They found out…. That Elena was contacting me and planning an escape…. So they killed her and Atsushi… and they kept on changing your locations so I couldn't find you….".

"I've tried finding you as much as I can…. And when I found out Akemi died….", Mary closed her eyes, trying to prevent herself from remembering that day when she found out her eldest niece was gone.

Silence filled the room, with neither Haibara and Mary not knowing what to say or how to continue this conversation, and they weren't the talkative kind of person to begin with.

"We can't return what we lost,", Ran broke the silence with a warm smile, "But we can mend what was broken, and build new bonds. And today is a good chance for you to start a relationship with each other.".

"And I've always wanted a sister!", Masumi said cheerfully, "My brothers are kind of…. Okay, they're actually idiots…".

"Aren't all boys?", Ran giggled.

"I don't think Masumi finds that Amuro an idiot.", Mary said with a smirk making Masumi look at her horrified.

"MAMA!! THAT WAS A SECRET!", She cried with her face deep red.

"You like Amuro-san?", Ran said with a wide smile while Haibara had a horrified look on her face, remembering that Amuro was Bourbon.

"I…. Please don't tell Sonoko….", Masumi begged making Ran nod, promising, "I do…. But I don't know if he likes me…".

She ran towards her aunt and whispered to her, "Auntie, that man is one of them!".

Mary remained a few moments, feeling warm at being called an aunt for the first time by Haibara, and at how Haibara was concerned about Masumi.

"Don't worry… As soon as Masumi told me, I payed him a visit. He's an NBA SB agent undercover in the Organization.", Mary said with a smile, "And he does like Masumi, but I decided not to tell her… let him confess first."

Haibara blinked before she smirked, "You threatened him with a gun?".

"Absolutely.".

Rei shivered as he played the guitar in his apartment, making Haro look at him worried.

"I'm okay don't worry…. It's just I had feeling the scary lady mentioned my name…", Rei assured Haro making him bark in relief.

'Oh well, anything for my Masumi…', Rei thought with a loving smile as he stared on a photo he had taken of Masumi, he had placed on his bed table.

So about Power Rangers Neo Savages, I'm actually writing (but rather very slow) the Kaito Centric chapter and the start of chapter 14:

I can give a sneak peak to keep you guys excited. Kaito's chapter is about his phobia, and the next arc will be Ran and Makoto Centric, mostly Ran.

Remember the old Kung Fu and Karate Kid movies? Yup, it'll be like that! And we'll learn more about their backstory (something Goshso didn't make for them).

I'll return back to publishing properly on 15/6, it's true my exams will be done on 27/6, but the last two exams then, aren't as hard as today and the next three days….

Pray for me, the next exam, in 3 days, is Medicinal Chemistry (Organic Chemistry X10)….

And it's truly to be or not to be….
