paradise dazzleshine, who owns Luna, asked for this one. Here you go, Amiga! :) Enjoy! :)

Undertale belongs to Toby Fox. Underswap belongs to its respective owner. I own nothing.

Swapped, But Still Family

Luna felt her senses start to slowly come back to her as her eyesight cleared, but she covered her ringing ears, wincing as the ringing sound didn't go away for a few minutes. She felt hands grab her and help her sit up as she had been laying down on her side on the floor.

"Luna, c-can you h-hear me?!" A muffled, yet panicked voice broke through the ringing sound, but the teen was confused because the voice didn't sound like her aunt Alphys or Uncle Gaster. She lifted her head up and squinted at the bright lights overhead.

She looked to see her aunt Undyne in a lab coat and looking at her worriedly. "L-Luna," her aunt said, tears coming to her eyes. "S-Say s-something! P-Please!"

Her ears finally stopped ringing and she blinked a few times before looking up at the fish woman. "Aunt Undyne?" She asked in confusion.

"Oh, L-Luna!" The fish woman said, hugging the girl tightly. "Are you okay?! I d-didn't see you come into the l-lab and then...!"

Luna blinked at her. "When did you arrive at the lab, Aunty?" She asked. "And where's Uncle Gaster and Aunty Alphys?"

Undyne froze and looked at her. "Wh-What do you mean?" She asked. "I'm always in the lab. G-Gaster disappeared a long time ago and Al-Alphys is out with Sans h-helping him train for the R-Royal Guard."

The teen looked confused. "What?" She asked. "Uncle Sans is training to be in the Royal Guard? But I thought that was Uncle Papyrus."

The woman in the lab coat froze again before her eyes widened. "Wait, what happened to your ears and tail?" She asked the girl in confusion. "Why did you change them from cat ears to wolf ears?"

Luna blinked and reached up, seeing her wolf ears were still there. "I've always had my wolf ears," she said.

Undyne froze again. "Oh, no," she said in horror before quickly typing in something on her computer before going back over to the girl. "Who's the king?"

"Uncle Asgore," the girl said, confused.

The scientist nodded. "Okay, th-that confirms that," she said.

"What confirms what?" Luna asked.

The fish woman went up to her. "Okay, pl-please don't freak out," she said before taking a deep breath. "Y-You're in Underswap, a world that is a sw-swapped version of your own world."

"Underswap?" The girl asked before looking panicked and moving away from Undyne in fear.

"W-Wait!" Undyne said urgently. "It's okay! You're safe!"

Luna quickly got to her feet and began running, bumping into someone else and falling down. "Oh, my," said a voice she didn't recognize and she looked up to see a robot looking at her in worry before helping her up. "Are you alright?"

She would have replied, except right next to the robot was a girl who looked just like her, save for the fact she had cat ears and a cat tail. The other girl blinked before moving a bit behind the robot. Luna scrambled backwards herself, hiding behind a desk and trembling as she hugged herself.

"Undyne, what happened?" The robot asked. "And...why does that girl look like my little one?"

"I think s-she's an al-alternate v-version of our Luna, Napstablook," Undyne said. "S-She s-suddenly arrived in my l-lab."

Napstablook, having heard about alternate worlds, nodded and looked over to where the misplaced girl was hiding. "Luna, sweetie," he said, turning to his daughter. "Why don't you stay over here with your aunt while I go see about comforting your counterpart?"

The cat-eared girl nodded and went over to her aunt, who looked worried as the robot went over to the other girl, smiling gently. "Hello, little one," he said softly, making the wolf-eared girl move back in fear. "It's alright. I'm not going to hurt you," he spoke soothingly. He then sat down, recalling how terrified his own daughter had been when he had first met her when she was in the orphanage. He held out his hands to the misplaced girl, smiling gently. "Can you give me your hands?" He asked her.

Luna looked up at him curiously, noting he looked a lot like her dad save for a few features. Seeing he was waiting for her to take his hands, she looked at him before slowly placing her right hand in his own, closing her eyes tightly afterwards.

Napstablook smiled and reached his other hand towards the girl, gently stroking her wolf ears. "Shh, calm down, sweetie," he said, keeping his voice soft.

The cat-eared Luna smiled and looked at her aunt. "Dad did that to me when I was first scared of him," she said.

Her scientist aunt chuckled before they saw Napstablook come out and he guided the wolf-eared girl out from her hiding spot. "There we are," he said. "What is your name, little one?"

She took a deep breath that was a bit shaky from her fear. "Luna," she said softly.

He nodded. "You are definitely my daughter's counterpart," he said before looking at his daughter. "Luna, sweetie, can you come say Hi?"

The girl nodded and went up to the misplaced girl, smiling. "I love your ears and tail," she said.

"Thank you," the girl said softly.

Napstablook got an alert on his phone. "Oh, shoot! I need to be on set," he said before hugging his daughter and kissing her forehead. "Can you keep your counterpart company while I go onstage, sweetie?"

"Yes, Dad," the cat-eared girl said.

"I'll get to w-working on a p-ortal to get her back home," Undyne said.

Luna was a bit unsure, but it wasn't too long after that she and her counterpart were getting along well and her cat-eared counterpart told her about how she had been adopted by Napstablook, the first one to not make fun of her having cat ears and a cat tail. Alphys stopped by and was surprised to learn of her niece having a counterpart, but she warmly welcomed her too.

"Love the wolf ears, kid," Alphys said.

Luna smiled at her. "If I told my aunts that they have swapped roles in this world, I think they'd be stunned," she said.

"You mean, I'm the scientist and Undyne is the Captain of the Guard?"

The girl nodded and Undyne looked stunned. "M-Me? A Captain?" She stammered. "O-Oh. I-I don't kn-know." She blushed.

"It's okay, Undyne," Alphys said, hugging the fish woman. "We love you as our science nerd and you know it."

Napstablook returned and smiled as he saw the scene before going up behind his daughter and ticking her sides, making her squeak and laugh. "DAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAD!" The cat-eared girl laughed out.

Undyne looked a bit exasperated, but smiled. "No b-bumping into my st-stuff!" She called out pleadingly.

"You worry too much, Undyne," Napstablook said with a laugh.

Alphys smirked and went up to the wolf-eared girl. "Hey, I think Napsta's got the right idea," she said.

Before Luna could move, she was scooped up into Alphys' arms and began laughing as fingers wiggled into her sides and stomach. The laughter filled the lab and Undyne quickly looked for a way to get the misplaced girl home, soon finding the coordinates. She turned just as Napstablook and Alphys let the girls up. "I g-got the c-coordinates for your w-world, Luna," she said.

The wolf-eared girl perked up at that and looked hopeful. "It'll take me back home? Back to Aunt Alphys' and Uncle Gaster's lab?" She asked.

"It will," Undyne said, stunned when the misplaced teen hugged her. She hugged her back, which made Alphys smile. Napstablook gently ruffled the girl's hair and the dinosaur gave her a fist bump.

"Take care, kiddo," she said.

Nodding, Luna took a deep breath. "Thank you for your hospitality," she said before going into the machine. She felt reality warp around her before she stood in her aunt Alphys' lab, blinking as she gazed around before seeing Gaster come running towards her.

"Luna!" He said, scooping her up into a hug as tears fell down his face. "Are you alright, little one? What happened? Are you hurt?"

Alphys looked to be a mess as she came over too. "Luna?" She asked, her voice small.

The wolf-eared girl smiled and hugged her uncle. "I'm okay," she said. "I think I visited an alternate reality, at least that's what the Undyne of that world told me."

"You m-met a n-new Un-Undyne?" Alphys asked in surpirse.

"Yeah," Luna said. "She's a scientist like you while your counterpart is the Captain of the Guard."

Gaster breathed a sigh of relief. "Underswap," he said. "It's a safe universe."

He still held his niece protectively. "When Alphys and I realized what happened, we were so worried," he admitted.

"Sorry to have worried you, guys," she said.

"Did you meet anyone else?"

She nodded. "I met Napstablook. He's like Dad except for his coloring and he adopted my counterpart, who has cat ears and a cat tail."

Alphys looked surprised. "Huh, g-guess not just p-personalities swap, but s-some physical features too," she said.

Mettaton came running in. "Luna!" He cried out, running up to her. "Oh, pumpkin! Are you okay? I came as soon as Alphys called me."

"I'm okay, Dad," Luna said, hugging him. "I apparently landed in an alternate world and met some of our family's counterparts. I even met your counterpart, Napstablook."

"Oh?" Mettaton asked, curious.

She nodded. "He adopted my counterpart, but she has cat ears and a cat tail instead of wolf ears and a wolf tail."

The robot star hugged her protectively. "I'm glad you were in a safe place, but I'm glad you're back home too," he said.

Luna snuggled into his hug, glad to be home too.

But she was happy to know that even in a swapped universe, she had a family too.
