Mystic Falls, Virginia August 19, 2009

The next day after school, Iris is walking with Caroline down the hall. "You are coming to the bonfire tonight, right" Caroline asks.

Iris stares at her for a moment, "Um, sure. Is this a normal thing that you do around here?" she asks.

"Its the annual start of school bonfire. We always have it during the first week of school. You have to come with" Caroline exclaims.

Iris smiles at her, "I will be there. It will definitely be a first for me"

As they walk out of the school to practice, Caroline sees Stefan. They stop and she asks him if he's going to the bonfire as well. He looks unsure about it until Elena walks up, he asks her if she's going. When she says she is, he decides he will go too.

Iris can tell that this upset Caroline. She tries to distract her, "So what do you have on the roster for us today, Captain" Iris jokes. At least she gets a smile out of Caroline.

After practice Iris heads home to get ready for the bonfire. Standing in her closet she begins to talk to herself, "What does one wear to a bonfire in the woods?"

"Most likely pants and a jacket, might want to add some boots as well" Remus says from her door.

"Very funny" Iris says to him

Remus smirks at her and replies, "Honestly, you never know what kind of critters run around in the woods. Actually who decided that a party in the woods was a good idea?"

Iris laughs and tells him, "Caroline, she's trying to get Stefans attention but I think he only has eyes for Elena. He's the odd guy I told you about"

"Ah yes, the one who disappeared last night" Sirius replies, plopping down on her bed. "Wear the red leather jacket"

Remus grabs the jacket for her, handing it over he looks to Sirius, "Do you think he could be one of the other beings Dobby mentioned?"

"Possibly, we should ask him, Dobby" Sirius calls.

"POP" Dobby stands there looking confused as to why everyone is in Missy Iris bedroom. "Are we having a party in Missy Iris room" Dobby asks

Laughing, Iris takes her clothes into the closet to get dressed. Meanwhile both men are now plopped on her bed waiting for her to come back out.

"Actually Dobby, remember when we asked about people like us when we arrived here" Remus asks. Dobby nods.

"Can you tell if there are any new ones in town since then" Iris asks, coming back into the room.

Dobby concentrates for a moment and looks up with wide eyes, "There are nightwalkers here now. But they have a magic on them that makes them seem different to normal nightwalkers" Dobby replies.

"Well fuck" Sirius quips, earning him a smack to the stomach from Remus.

Iris looks pensive for a moment, "That would actually make sense but I clearly seen him in the sunlight" she says.

"Maybe it has to do with the magic, what if it makes them more human to normal people" Remus replies.

"Well if people start popping up drained of blood we will have a main suspect" Sirius says.

"Make sure you carry your wand at all times. We don't know how our magic will affect them but I would rather know you're safe" Remus says to Iris.

"Also" Sirius yells, running from the room. Leaving Remus and Iris to shake their heads at his antics. "Keep this on you at all times!" He says cheekily, pushing a box towards Iris.

Iris opened the box and looked at the men, "I didn't think these would work around us" she said.

"Thank Remy here, he's the brainy one. I'm the pretty one" Sirius laughs, Remus sighed.

"We finally figured out how not to fry them. The runes etched on the inside will keep your magic from frying the electronics. We started with the shop computer and then started working on two things for you. One is the phone and the other is this", Remus says, handing her a larger box.

Iris opened the larger box to find a laptop. Wow. Setting both items to the side she jumped onto the bed in between both men and hugged them. "Thank you both so much" she said, squeezing them into the hug.

"We didn't want you to be the only teen that didn't have a phone, it would look weird" Remus replied.

"Well I love it! Now I just need to figure out how it works, this is pretty advanced" Iris laughs.

"Our numbers are already programmed in and this one is yours" Remus says, handing Iris a piece of paper.

"Now go have fun at the bonfire and have your bubbly friend show you how to work the phone. Just remember, NO BOYS" Sirius joked.

Iris laughs at Sirius, then shoos them from her room so she can finish getting ready. Grabbing her bag, phone, and keys she heads out the door. She was going to follow Caroline there since she had no idea where they were going.

Iris pulls into a spot behind Caroline in a field. They were early because Caroline was part of setting up. Getting out of the car Iris looks around the area. Its mainly an open field with trees surrounding the area. There's a giant stack of wood and branches and what Iris think may be a couch thrown into a pile.

Looking for Caroline who had wondered off she sees her by what must be the 'bar'. There are a bunch of kegs and a card table with bottles of alcohol and solo cups on it. Caroline is organizing the table and Iris goes up to her.

"What can I do to help" Iris asks, "I've never been to a party like this"

Caroline looked at her like she was crazy, "You've never been to a party?"

"Before we moved I went to a private school that was pretty strict. We would have a small get together in our dorms but nothing that ever came close to this" Iris tells her sheepishly.

Caroline had a look of determination come over her face, "Well we are definitely going to have to change that!"

Iris laughed and continued with helping Caroline set up. As it began to get dark more people started showing up. Caroline made sure to introduce Iris to Matt and Tyler. She pointed out Elenas little brother Jeremey and even Matts sister Vicki. Then Bonnie and Elena showed up.

Iris was refilling drinks for people when she noticed Caroline looking behind her. Glancing behind she noticed Elena talking with Stefan. They were walking together and even Iris could see they were in a deep conversation. Iris tried to distract Caroline from the scene but she could tell she needed a minute alone.

Iris watched Caroline walk off and decided she would take a quick walk around the party. She tried to stay on the outskirts to avoid all of the drunk teenagers. Not watching where she was walking, she bumped into a leather covered back.

"I am so sorry, I was looking the other way and not paying attention" Iris exclaims.

Two hauntingly beautiful blue eyes look down at Iris. "Thats ok, seems I was blocking your path" Blue eyes said to Iris.

Getting a good look at him, Merlin he was gorgeous. He looked a little old to be at a high school party though.

"Are you looking for someone? This doesn't really seem to be your crowd" Iris says, he was giving her an odd feeling. Maybe she was just paranoid.

"My brother actually, he left the house before we could talk" Blue eyes said.

"Oh well I only know a few people here, I just moved to town but maybe my friends know him. What's his name" Iris asked.

"Stefan Salvatore" Blue eyes said, looking down at Iris.

'Fuck' Iris thought to herself before putting on a mask, "I actually do know him, he's over by the bonfire talking to a girl named Elena" Iris says, trying to act cheerful.

Blue eyes stares at Iris for a moment longer, something is definitely off about him. Hell the whole family. Iris begins to back away from him when she asks, "Do you want me to grab him for you"

"That won't be necessary, I'm sure I'll see him in a minute" Blue eyes says. Quickly he grabs Iris by the shoulders and before she can even squeak he's looking into her eyes and his pupils are dilating. "Forget that you saw me here and forget that my brother is Stefan"

Iris stands there, shocked and then quickly decides that she needs to get the hell out of there. She looks around trying to find Caroline when she spots her. Quickly she walks up to her.

"Where were you! I got scared you had gotten lost in the woods!" Caroline says to Iris.

Iris smiles at her but then remembers blue eyes, "Hey I think that I'm going to head home. You're not staying much longer are you?" Iris asks.

Caroline looks at her, like she's checking her over. "Are you sure you're okay to drive? Nothing happened did it?" she asks.

Iris didn't want to lie to her but she needed to get home to Siri and Remy. They needed to talk. "I'm ok. I think I'm just wore out from all of the new things this week. Promise you won't stay too much longer." Iris asks Caroline.

"I promise I won't stay too much longer, I think I'm over the bonfire tonight." Caroline says. Iris looks at her knowingly. "I'll walk you to your car and I will head out shortly."

"Be careful and text me when you get home!" Iris tells Caroline. She waves as she drives off.

As soon as Iris walked in the door she called for a family meeting. Once everyone was gathered she started, "It's definitely vampires. I got conformation first hand tonight."

Remus stood up and started checking her over, "Did it bite you? I don't see any blood on you" Sirius was pacing behind them, waiting for Remus to finish his check of Iris.

Iris smiled at them both. Merlin they were overprotective. She laughed, "I'm fine! I promise. I left as soon as I figured it out. It's the new guy, Stefan and his brother. " She proceeds to tell them what had happened and what blue eyes looked like.

Sirius, Remus, Dobby, Hedwig and Iris were all sitting there, silent after her story.

"So we know they aren't like the vampires where we are from. They can walk in the sun. And he must have been trying to make you forget. Trying to compel you." Remus states.

"Wonder if a stake to the heart works on them here. Maybe we can find other weaknesses" Sirius said quietly.

"I feel like we should keep this to ourselves for now. How crazy would we look if we brought this up to the sheriff." Iris explains, looking sad. "I really hope Caroline left like I asked her to"

"Maybe we can start being more involved with the community. I mean pup is already and cheerleader and friends with the sheriffs daughter. We met the sheriff and the Mayor at the shop." Sirius says.

"There's the thing for the Comet coming up and then the first football game. Maybe we should all go so we can keep an eye out." Iris says.

Looking to each other, both men agree with her. Now they have a plan.
