Danny was one of the first people to know it. As he was one of the few who saw it happening.

His ghostly obsession was two fold. He seeked to protect, but he also seeked out the stars. He often was star gazing, he often saw the moon, too. He saw how the white full moon exploded, only a crescent moon remaining. Danny felt dread. Not even because he saw something that had gone against one half of his obsession, but because what ever made the moon explode could potentially harm earth.

Days after the moon was crushed, some people accused his alter ego, Phantom, of destroying the moon. Including his parents. Weirdly enough the Ghostly Investigation Ward put out a statement that he wasn't the one at fault.

This seems to imply they know what is going on. Either way, they did not stop hunting him, albeit their methods chanced.

"Phantom! We need to talk!" yelled one of the GIW agents at one of their attempts. "It is about the moon!"

"I wasn't it! You guys said it yourself!" yelled Danny back, while dodging some paralyzing nets.

The agent replied, "We know! We need your help!"

"What?" That surprise was paralyzing for his mind. In the end, one of the nets got him. He crashed to the ground and the GIW collected him. In a van on the way to their headquarters, the same agent who asked him – Agent N, an Asian-American man as Danny noted – sat with him.

"What do you want from me?" asked Danny, hoping that he won't accidentally switch forms due to the net. It feels as if it burns him, it hurts, yet he just feels numb. "You said you need my help."

"Yes. The moon. You have noted it is broken, yes?"

"Hard to miss, Agent." said Danny, half assing his sarcasm.

"Well, it is not ghostly. It… was destroyed by a monster, a creation of the Japanese Government-"

"N! Don't tell him that!" yelled another agent who drove the van.

"L, if he agrees, he will learn this anyway." countered N.

"For all we know the ghost declines." said L.

N returned his attention to Danny. "The thing threatens to destroy Earth. We have to try to stop it, hence asking you." said Agent N. "As far as we know, you are one of the strongest ghosts. You defeated that Ghost King."

Danny never thought he'll be called powerful by the Guys in White. Or essentially be recruited. Or just talk to them. "You said Japanese Government, I suppose this is an international operation?"

"Of course it is!" chimed L in.

"Yes. In fact, there is a program, if you join this one, you would be needed to go to Japan." said N. "The thing demanded to teach a class of a Japanese Middle School. We struck a deal with it that this class would be trained to be assassins, with the goal to kill him."

"I can't believe it agreed to that!" said L. "He is fully aware he will be teaching his doom!"

"Now look who has loose lips, L!" pointed out N. "Well, as you look like a teen-aged child, we ask you to partake in the Assassination Classroom Project. Or any other plan to stop it. Albeit… can you pretend to be human? I've heard of a female ghost who could. You aren't supposed to scare the other assassins."

"Huh, I thought you guys just planned that the thing doesn't know about me, that my ghostly abilities are just a secret blade sort of deal."

"That, too." said L. "Now, can you?"

Danny closed his eyes. He was contemplating if he should tell them about his half life. If Earth is on the line, if they need his help, would they still go after him. "I am half dead."

"What?" asked a third agent. Danny did not notice them. They were in the passenger seat besides Agent L. "What do you mean?"

"I am only half dead, which means I am half alive. I can switch between being a human and a ghost." he admitted. "So yeah, I am sure I can fool that thing. I fooled Amity Park for nearly a year, after all."

"Prove it." demanded N.

Danny then turned. The rings appeared and floated over his body, revealing him to be Daniel Fenton. "Enough proof?"

"The Fenton's son! That, wow." said Agent N, trying to process what he saw. "Fenton, are you willing to do this? To become an assassin?"

"If it saves the world, yes!" he agreed.

"Good. Now we only need to get your human identity to Japan…" muttered L. "To convince your parents will be difficult. Either way, you should start learning Japanese."

Danny smirked and said in Japanese, "Sounds like I am ahead of you in that regard."

Agent N answered, also in Japanese, "You speak Japanese?"

Danny answered in English, so that L and the other guy can listen. "Yes. Ghosts speak all languages that exist in the Infinite Realms. Which means all languages."

The van stopped. "We're at the HQ, guys! Get the net off Fenton. We need to discuss things." said the third. "Oh, and Fenton? I am Agent AZ."

"Huh, two letters?"

"Turns out, twenty six letters are not enough code names for our organization." said AZ. He got the net off. "Follow."

Their boss was relieved Phantom was on board. He, however was also mortified at the prospect of half death being possible. He barely recovered from the cosmic horror of the moon exploding.

"Sir, I am not even the only half ghost…" told him Danny. "Vlad Plasmius, Wisconsin Ghost, that guy's a halfa, too… hey, maybe he could help to make an excuse why I go to Japan!"

"Really? How?" asked N.

"Simple. Plasmius is Vlad Masters, my parent's college friend. He had been trying to get rid off me by giving me stipendien to some private schools." explained Danny. "What if one of those offers is for a Japanese school? Albeit we would need to find a reason why it is a Middle School, considering I'm a High School Freshman…"

"Mm… It isn't unheard of to repeat a grade when transferring between the school systems." said N. "Relatives of mine did."

Danny leaned back on his chair. "Well, should I call Vlad or will you?"

In the end, Agent AZ called Vlad and informed him that they are aware of him being a halfa, but also that they need him. When Vlad came to the HQ and saw Danny, he said, "Of course you are here! I assume you told them?"

"Yeah." admitted Danny, no reason to lie. "Now before you go ballistic, please just listen, Vlad."

"Only because you said 'please', little badger." agreed Vlad.

"The moon crusher, we need you to stop it from destroying Earth." said AZ, "Specifically we need you to create Fenton an alibi to come to Japan."

"He told us you tried to give him stipendien to get him away from Amity." clarified N. "Do that, but this time, a Japanese school. The Moon Crusher demanded to teach a class there for a year. The class will train to be assassins to kill him."

"I see, you want Daniel as a secret weapon." realized Vlad. "Well, the other stipendien got rejected because his parents don't want him to be on his own… I doubt they allow him to leave the country… especially when the moon got destroyed." He mused, "Maddie had been frantic for the last few days."

"What if someone they know accompanies Daniel to Japan?" wondered L. "Isn't his sister college aged? I am sure we could pursue a University to take her…"

Vlad sighed. "You know what, I go with him to Japan. Maddie and Jack trust me, I would be the one behind the stipendium for all they know and…"

Danny said, "But that would mean you're away from mom!"

"Yes! But I suppose the earth is more important than your mother." said Vlad. "Then again, depending how much of this operation becomes known when that thing is gone, maybe she is impressed enough to leave your father for me."

Danny rolled his eyes. "Of course you come to that conclusion..."
