Chapter 4
"That was a human scream, right?"
Naruto smiled. This was the environment he was born to be in. He wanted to fight and he was sure he was going to fight someone.
"I got to take a piss."
Mito moved somewhere away to do her business. She came back a little bit later.
"I feel great now."
In an instant, Naruto grabbed her by her neck as he slammed her down.
"Where is the real Mito?"
"What are you saying all of a sudden?"
"You don't smell like Mito. I have a great sense of smell and can Identify anyone's smell. And you don't smell like her."
Sasuke walked forward too.
"Your shuriken holster is on your left side, Mito is Right Handed. So it was easy to tell."
Mito puffed and changed into an Ame Shinobi who tried to stab Naruto. But Naruto tossed him at Sasuke and Sasuke stabbed him. The Ame nin kicked him as he ran away. But Naruto could not let him go.
"Galick Gun."
Naruto fired a large beam of Purple KI and disintegrated the Forest along with the Ame Nin.
"What happened?"
Mito came back after hearing the commotion. Sasuke called Naruto and Mito towards him.
"If we get separated next time, even if it is one of us, don't trust them. This could happen again. We will make a Codeword just in case. Listen if they get the Codeword wrong, assume they are the enemy no matter what they look like. Listen carefully, I will only say it once."
Unknown to them, Orochimaru was listening to them.
A large gust of wind came and swept multiple tree's as they were blown away. Sasuke and Mito found each other. Sasuke asked Mito the Code but Mito said that she forgot it, making Sasuke know that it was truly Mito.
Then Naruto also came. Sasuke then realised that something was wrong as he asked Naruto the code. Naruto told the code. But Sasuke threw a Kunai at him, but Naruto smiled as he puffed, showing that it was Orochimaru.
"Impressive that you knew. But how did you know that I was a Fake?"
"You were using Chakra. Naruto does not have Chakra."
Mito was surprised. But she wondered where Naruto was.
With Naruto…
"Where am I?"
Naruto got up as a Shadow fell on him. He looked up and saw a Large Snake come at him. The Snake wrapped its tail around Naruto.
"Swift Fissile."
Naruto raised his palm as the orb appeared and Naruto threw it. The Orb revolved around him and cut the Snake's Tail before Naruto directed it at the Snake. It hit the Snake and burst, killing the Snake. He flew up as he went towards where he believed Mito and Sasuke were.
With Mito and Sasuke…
"You want my 'Earth Scroll',right? Since you guys have the 'Heaven Scroll'."
Orochimaru pulled out the Earth Scroll as he coiled his tongue around the Scroll and swallowed it.
"Now, let's begin the battle for each other's scroll with our lives on the line."
Orochimaru let out his Killer Intent. Sasuke and Mito were scared as they felt fear. Who was this guy? That was bad. They had to run. Mito got angry as the seal started to break. She had trained hard but it was still not enough. The Whisker on his face got bolder as her eyes had a slit. But Orochimaru wrapped his tongue around Mito and pulled her towards him.
"Damn it. Let go of me."
"So the Nine Tails Brat is still alive. When your emotions are heightened ,the power of the Nine Tails overflows."
Orochimaru raised her shirt as Orochimaru looked at the Seal of Ninetail. Orochimaru had fire in his fingers as he slammed it into Mito's stomach. Mito went unconscious as Orochimaru tossed her away. But that was a mistake as Naruto landed. Naruto saw Mito get tossed away as anger began to boil in him.
"How could you hurt her?"
Naruto gave a yell as he broke the Gravity Seal. Orochimaru was scared at feeling Naruto's Power. It was even more than the Leader of Akatsuki. He would have given Sasuke the Seal and run away.
But to his surprise, Naruto grabbed his face as he slammed Orochimaru into the Ground. He then tossed Orochimaru up as he pointed his palm at him.
"Stop. We can get the scroll from him. He has the scroll we need in his Stomach. Kill him after taking it out."
Naruto stopped as he raised his hand and a bloody scroll appeared. Orochimaru was shocked as he was sure that was the scroll he had swallowed. He looked down as he saw a hole in his stomach. Naruto then raised his palms again as he dropped the scroll to the ground..
"Galick Gun."
Orochimaru was instantly vaporise as the Galick Gun hit him. Orochimaru was dead. Sasuke realised that there was no way he could catch up to Naruto. Naruto then carried Mito as he handed the Scroll to Sasuke.
"Let's go."
Naruto then grabbed him as he flew and took them to the tower.
The team had landed gracefully. Well, it was Naruto that had landed, not the team but still they landed gracefully. Naruto informed Sasuke as they walked into the tower through one of the multiple doors in the tower. They looked around to see that Nobody was there but there was a Board with something written in it.
But some words were missing. But Naruto pulled out both the scroll as he opened it. He saw smoke appearing out of it and threw it on the ground. There was a huge puff of smoke. When the smoke cleared, Iruka was standing there.
Iruka was surprised at seeing Team Seven and Team Seven were surprised at seeing Iruka.
"What? How have you already completed the Second Test? Only 15 Minutes have passed since the Test started. But let's focus on what happens next. At the end of this second test, it is set up so we Chunins meet up with the exam takers and I was allowed to be the one to greet you. Congratulations, all three of you passed the second test. And in Record time too. Next I would like to talk to you about Hokage-sama's message."
Naruto and Sasuke looked at it again. They still could not understand it.
"This is the motto of the Chunin Exam. The 'Heaven' in this paragraph refers to the human mind. And the 'Earth' refers to the Human Body. If you lack heaven seek wisdom, be prepared. That is basically it. Gain knowledge and prepare yourself for the mission. If you lack Earth, run in the field, seek advantages. That is all I to pass it on to you,"
End of the Second Test…
"Congratulations to everyone on passing the Second Test."
Anko looked around as she gave a proud smile. She had cut the number in half just like she had said. But she was expecting it to be cut to single digits. And 18 were still here.
"Your team is not too bad. Maybe they were lucky. But as long as my team is around, getting any farther is impossible. From now on, it is all about real ability. Well, with youth there are sweet times and there are sour times, eh Kakashi."
Kakashi was not listening to Gai. He was looking at his team. From what he had heard from Naruto, they had grown a lot. Mito had grown the most. She was the Deadlast when she graduated but right now she has managed to survive Orochimaru. He heard Gai calling his name and turned to him. It seems Gai was telling something.
"Huh? You say something?"
Gai was shocked. That was something Kakashi had an upper hand on. Gai knew he would never be as Cool as his Rival. Gai's Team was looking at his interaction with Kakashi.
Hiruzen looked at everyone that passed. Iruka had said that letting Rookies attend the Exam was not a good idea. But it seems that half of those who passed were Rookies. No wonder they were all nominated.
"Hokage-sama will now explain the third test. Listen Carefully."
Hiruzen walked forward.
"Before I tell you about the third test, there is something I would like you to know. It concerns the true reason for this exam. Why do we have all the alliance countries taking the exam together? To promote friendship among the Countries and To raise the level of shinobi are just some words that we use. But I don't want you to be confused about the True Meaning of this exam. It is a replacement for a War among Allied Countries."
That made sense to Naruto. If what he guessed was right, the final examination would take place before a wide array of people who have a lot of influence.
"If you go back in time, the current allies were enemies who fought each other over who would rule. In order to prevent wasteful fighting, the stage that these countries chose for battle is this. That is the origin of this Chunin Exam."
Hiruzen waited for a few seconds to let everyone take in what he had said before continuing.
"It is a fact that this exam decides which shinobi have what it takes to become Chunin. But on the other hand, this exam has another side where each country's shinobis risk their own life to protect their land's prestige."
This confirmed what Naruto had thought.
"Watching this Third Exam will be leaders and influential individuals from many countries who make up the clients of the shinobi. And the leaders of the countries will also be there to watch each of your battles. If the strength of a country is clear, that country will receive more clients. And conversely, if seen as weak, they will lose clients."
Hiruzen took a puff of his pipe.
"And this will signal potential enemy countries that our village has this much power. So it will send a political message to the outsiders. The strength of the country is the strength of the Village. The strength of the village is the strength of the shinobi. And a shinobi's true strength is born only through life-risking battle."
Hiruzen looked at all of his Genins.
"Before we begin the third test, I will tell you one more thing. This is not just a test. This is a life risking battle with your dreams and your country's prestige on the line."
A man appeared beside Hiruzen as he walked back. Naruto could tell that the man was super sick.
"From here on, I am the referee. Hello everyone. I am Hayate. Before the third test there will be a preliminary for the third test to decide who gets to participate in the main event. Because the first and second test may have been too easy this year, we have a bit too many people remaining. So we will have a Preliminary to reduce the number. And those who are not feeling well can leave."
Naruto looked around and he did not see Kabuto and his team but the team from Oto had also made it.
"Now it will be a one on one. The fight continues until one of you dies or is knocked out or admits your defeat. And the Matchups will be determined by the Electric Scoreboard. Let's start by announcing the 2 names for the first fight."
The board showed two names.
Mito Uzumaki VS Ino Yamanaka.
Ino laughed wildly. But Asuma was scared. What if Ino uses her Mind Transfer and meets Kyuubi?
"Hahaha.I am so lucky. I can definitely beat her."
Mito was not worried though.
"Now the two participants come front and the rest go up."
Naruto approached Mito and told her to keep a calm mind during the fight. Mito jumped on to the ground and stood before Ino. Inowas still smiling.
"It's like I have already won. I feel bad for you so I will end you with one punch."
As soon as the match began, Mito came and knocked Ino out. Everyone was shocked as that was fast. What was Kakashi teaching his Genins?
"The Winner is Mito Uzumaki. Next match will be Temari VS Tenten."
The match was also similar as Tenten could do nothing against Temari and Temari won. The matches ended very quickly.
"That was fast. . Next will be Kin Tsuchi VS Shikamaru Nara. Begin!"
The proctor's voice rang out, and the fight commenced. Kin wasted no time. She deftly pulled out a handful of senbon needles, her eyes narrowing as she aimed them at Shikamaru. With a flick of her wrist, she launched the needles, each one whistling through the air with deadly precision. Shikamaru, hands in his pockets, sidestepped effortlessly, his calm demeanour never faltering.
"Troublesome,"
Shikamaru began analysing her movements. Kin smirked, her fingers moving to the bells attached to her senbon. She flung them again, this time with a different intent. The bells jingled as they flew, the sound waves carrying a hypnotic melody designed to ensnare Shikamaru's senses.
"Genjutsu."
Shikamaru noted, recognizing the technique. He quickly formed the hand seal to release the illusion, but the momentary distraction gave Kin the opening she needed. She dashed forward, closing the distance between them.
Shikamaru's shadow extended, reaching out to connect with Kin's. She leaped back just in time, narrowly avoiding being caught.
"You're not as slow as you look."
Shikamaru sighed, his mind racing. He needed to turn the battlefield to his advantage. Glancing around, he noted the position of the sun and the lengthening shadows.
Kin advanced again, this time more cautiously. Shikamaru's shadow snaked out, and she dodged, moving unpredictably. But Shikamaru was ready. He formed a hand seal, and his shadow split into multiple tendrils, each one weaving through the terrain to corner her.
Kin's eyes widened as she realised she was surrounded.
"Nice try, but not good enough."
She threw another set of senbon. This time, they were aimed at Shikamaru's shadow tendrils, disrupting his jutsu grinned.
"Got you."
In that split second, his shadow caught hers, immobilising her. Kin struggled, but it was futile. Shikamaru's technique held her firmly in place.
"Shadow Possession Jutsu complete. Looks like this match is over."
Kin grit her teeth, frustration evident in her eyes. She had underestimated his strategic prowess, and now she was trapped. Shikamaru pulled out a Kunai as did Kin. They thought they were going to stab each other but Shikamaru bent back and Kin did the same but behind Kin was the wall.
"Now we will announce the next match. Hinata Hyuga VS Neji Hyuga."
Hinata was scared. But she had to fight. She would never give up. Neji and Hinata stood before each other.
"I never thought I would be facing you, Hinata-sama. Before we begin the fight, I would like to say something. You don't make a Good Shinobi. Forfeit now. You are too kind. You wish for harmony and avoid conflict. You agree with others, never resisting."
Hinata was shocked by Neji's words. She wanted to leave too.
"Oi. What are you saying? Hinata is strong because she is kind. Don't worry, Hinata. If Ino could defeat me, then you can also defeat Neji."
Hinata looked up and was surprised to see Kiba there. It seemed that Kiba had woken up and came here to see her match. She could not let him down.
"As I thought, you are a spoiled brat of the main house. People can not change themselves. Losers are losers. Their personality and strength will not change."
Mito scoffed at Neji. Neji turned to her.
"What makes you think that? I was the deadlast of this year and today I can beat you with one hand."
"We will see about that."
Naruto was always calm but Neji's attitude towards Mito made him angry. He let off his Killer Intent at Neji and people watched as Neji started to shake. Gai put a hand on Naruto's shoulder. Kakashi realised that he should have put the Gravity Seal on him. But he could do it after the test.
"You should stop that."
"What? I am doing is just Killer Intent"
Naruto was right. Neji got his shit together as he activated his Byakugan. Neji decided he would end it here. Neji dodged Hinata's attack before poking her near her heart.
Hinata vomited blood. But she still stood continued hitting Hinata in the same exact spot. Neji started getting angry. As soon as Hinata stood up, Neji rushed at her with intent to kill. Kurenai, Gai and Kakashi went and stopped Neji. But all the hits caused a problem in Hinata's heart and she fell down. Neji turned around once he was let go. He turned around and looked at Mito.
"In the end, a loser is a loser. They can not change."
Mito grabbed Naruto's hand tightly before he could do anything. Naruto stopped what he was about to do as he felt Mito's hold. He sighed. He would let Neji go for now.
"Next match will be Sasuke Uchiha VS Zaku. Please come to the stage."
Sasuke smiled. It was finally his turn to fight. He jumped down. Zaku had a smirk on his was a rookie and it would be an easy match. Sasuke had decided that he would end this as quickly as he could.
"Begin."
Sasuke appeared behind Zaku, surprising him as Sasuke's neck chopped him and knocked him out.
"That was quick. Next match will be between Kiba Inazuka and Choji Akimichi."
Choji got down.
"Begin."
"Baika no Jutsu."
Choji instantly inflated like a balloon. He then tugged his head and air and became a literal ball.
"Nikudan Sensha."
"Getsuga."
Both of them hit each other and got knocked out
"Why is the match ending so fast? It is a win for neither one of them. Next will be Kankuro VS Shino Aburame."
Kankuro did not want to fight as he wanted to keep his skills hidden for the Invasion. He gave up before even coming to the stage.
"This will be the second last match. Gaara VS Dosu."
Gaara kills Dosu as soon as the match begins.
"Well that was bloody. But we are at the end of the Prelims. Rock Lee VS Naruto."
Lee and Naruto stared at each other, waiting for the other to make a move. Lee decided he would have to be the one to make the first move.
"Leaf Whirlwind."
Lee rushed at Naruto and delivered a Kick but Naruto caught the kick, shocking everyone. Naruto then threw Lee away. Lee got up and rushed behind Naruto, trying to punch him but once again Naruto blocked it. Lee tried to kick Naruto but the Sand blocked him again.
"It is sad that Lee can not perform Ninjutsu with such little Chakra. But Lee will win this using just Taijutsu. Lee, take them off. I will allow it."
Kakashi smiled at his rival. It seemed that they had similar Students.
"Neither can Naruto. It seems that they are similar."
Lee looked at Gai with a questioning look. Seeing Gai nod, Lee took off his leg warmer and then pulled out two weights from his leg. Mito commented that it was not going to change a thing and Lee was stupid. Lee dropped those weights to the ground and everyone was surprised on seeing the cloud that formed after he dropped it. But Mito and Sasuke did not seem surprised as Naruto had done the same thing.
Lee disappeared and appeared behind Naruto. He punched. Naruto was shocked at the increase in speed but still managed to block it. Lee appeared behind Naruto, jumped and spinned and landed a kick while he was falling.
"Now we are just getting started."
Sasuke had activated his Sharingan, in the hope that he could witness the battle. But he still could not see Lee moving. Lee appeared behind Naruto and Naruto turned to block the attack. But Lee appeared from front and punched him in his cheeks.
But Naruto had no reaction. He had a mad grin on his face.
"Is that all?"
Lee knew what he had to do. But should he really use that attack? He turned to Gai-sensei and saw him nod.
"Front Lotus."
Lee appeared before Naruto and roundhouse kicked him on his chin, sending him flying up. Lee used the Shadow of the Dancing Leaf and appeared behind Naruto. Lee closed his eyes as he felt the stress on his body. Lee wrapped the bandage he had around his arm around Naruto. And then fell down, slamming into the ground.
But it was useless as Naruto stood up. Naruto then appeared before Lee and did the same thing as Lee had done before. Gai was shocked. He turned to Kakashi.
"Monkey see, Monkey Doo."
Naruto slammed Lee onto the ground. He stood up as he assumed that the match was over. Lee stood up as he smiled.
"Lee is smiling even though he is getting pushed around."
"No. Now the tables will turn. The Lotus of the Leaf Blooms twice."
Kakashi's eyes widened on hearing that.
"Then that means he will be using the Hachimon. But the 'Ura Renge' is one technique that should never be taught to a Genin. How many gates can he open?"
"Five gates."
Kakashi was surprised. Lee began opening the gates and his hair started to rise, steam started to come out of his body and his skin turned red. He then disappeared. The next thing everyone knew, Naruto was kicked up. Instead of appearing behind Naruto, Lee appeared before him and punched him.
He punched Naruto multiple times from every direction.
Lee wrapped the bandage around Naruto and pulled him as Lee kicked Naruto in his stomach. But Lee was also affected. Both of them fell down. Lee tried getting up. He turned to Naruto and saw that Naruto was ok.
Naruto raised his hand. Naruto closed his hand into fist as he appeared before Lee and stopped an inch before Lee. Lee closed his eyes waiting for the pain of the punch but felt a sharp pain as Naruto flicked his forehead, sending Lee into the wall. Lee got knocked out.
Gai came and picked Lee up. Lee was just knocked out but Gai was sure Lee would train harder.
"With this the Preliminary Trials for Round Three has been concluded. Those who passed come down."
All of the winners came down. It seemed only Team Seven had all of its members pass their match.
"Congratulations to all of you who have won the right to compete in the Chunin Exams. The next round will take place one month from Today. We will now draw a Number randomly to see who will be fighting whom in the Chunin Exam."
Everyone pulled out a Number.
Neji VS Mito
Shikamaru VS Temari
Shino VS Sasuke
Naruto VS Gaara
That was all the matches that would take place in the Final Round of the Chunin Exam.
"You will eat dirt, Neji. Try not to lose too quickly."
Next Day…
"Why are we here?"
Mito could not believe that Kakashi had brought him to the Hot Spring while saying that Mito was going to meet his teacher here.
"I am bringing you to meet someone who is not just your teacher but also the teacher of the Fourth Hokage. Jiraiya of the Sannin."
Mito's eyes widened. If he was one of the three Sanin, Mito knew he was strong. They reached the Hot Springs and saw a long white haired old man staring through a hole towards the girls side of the Hotspring. Kakashi pointed at the Old Man.
Mito had no hope. How could someone like him be able to train him? The Fourth must have been a Genius if he got that strong under the pervert.
"Jiraya-sama, I have brought her here."
Jiraya turned around and saw Kakashi. That meant the Boy with her was Mito. She looked like Kushina with whiskers. If what Jiraya had heard from Hiruzen was right then Mito was like her mother
"Let's go talk somewhere else, Mito. You can leave now, Kakashi."
Kakashi nodded as he walked away. He decided to go meet Sasuke. But he was met with Gai before he could meet Sasuke. Gai told him that Kabuto had escaped from Konoha. It was good that Naruto did not need to be trained.
With Jiraiya and Mito…
"So what can you train me in? I will have to decide if training with you is worth it or not."
Jiraiya smiled. He bit his thumbs and did some hand seals. He slammed his hand on the ground and a Toad was summoned. The Toad had a scroll in its mouth which it put down.
"I will be teaching you how to summon Toads. Just like I taught, fourth. I am doing this as Kakashi requested."
Mito decided that training with Jiraya would be worth it.
With Naruto…
"What is it that you want with me?"
Naruto was surprised as a White Haired Monkey appeared before Naruto in a puff of smoke. This was Monkey King Enma, the Boss of the Monkey Summon. Enma stared into his eyes as he scanned Naruto.
"I heard about you from Hiruzen. You are something else. You have a beast in you. How about we work to tame it. It is a Monkey after all. So who better to teach you than me."
Naruto was surprised as he had never told anyone about the Oozaru Form. Naruto then told Enma about the Ozaru form. Enma thought for sometime. Enma decided to hide it from Hiruzen as this was his student. He grabbed him as he was Reverse Summoned, not to be seen for the next month.
One Month Later…
"Thanks everyone for coming to the Konoha Chunin Exam. We will now start the matches between the eight people who made it through the preliminary. Please stay by and watch until the end."
Mito looked around and saw that Naruto still had not made it. Of the eight that had made it through, six were Konoha Rookies. And it seemed that Sasuke had not gotten Kakashi's habit of being late. Mito looked at the Referee. This was not the same Referee as the one in the Preliminary.
"Let's continue. Mito Uzumaki and Neji Hyuga stay. Rest of you go up."
Both of them stayed as the other went up.
"Begin!"
The proctor's voice echoed through the arena, signalling the start of the match. Mito, with her usual exuberance, charged forward, her fists ready to strike.
"I'm gonna prove you wrong, Neji!"
Mito's eyes were blazing with determination. Neji stood his ground, his expression calm and confident. With a swift movement, he activated his Byakugan, his pale eyes widening as veins bulge around them. He could see Mito's chakra points clearly, and he intended to end this fight quickly.
As Mito closed in, Neji sidestepped effortlessly, his hand striking out with pinpoint accuracy.
"Eight Trigrams: Sixty-Four Palms!"
Neji's fingers began jabbing at Mito's chakra points with blinding speed. Mito stumbled back, her chakra flow disrupted. She gritted her teeth, refusing to back down.
"Shadow Clone Jutsu!"
The arena was filled with dozens of Mito clones, each one ready to fight. Neji's eyes darted between the clones, easily discerning the real Mito among them.
"Your tricks won't work on me,"
He prepared to strike again. to strike again. But Mito was already moving, her clones forming a protective barrier as she devised her next move.
"Let's see how you handle this!"
Mito and her clones charged at Neji from all directions, creating a whirlwind of motion that even Neji struggled to keep up with. The real Mito leaped high into the air, coming down with a powerful kick aimed directly at Neji.
Neji blocked the kick with ease, using his Gentle Fist technique to redirect Mito's attack.
"You can't change your fate, Mito. Destiny is predetermined."
Mito landed on the ground, panting but undeterred.
"I don't believe in fate. I'll create my own destiny!"
With that, Mito's clones surrounded Neji, launching a coordinated assault. Neji spun rapidly, his chakra forming a protective dome around him.
"Eight Trigrams: Palm Rotation!"
He rotated and formed a sphere of chakra, dispelling the clones and sending Mito flying back. Mito crashed to the ground, but she refused to give up. She struggled to her feet, determination burning in her eyes.
"I'm not done yet!"
With a roar, Mito coated her fist with Chakra as she dashed at Neji.
"Take this!"
Neji braced himself, but the sheer force of the attack was overwhelming. Mito's punch struck, its power shattering Neji's defences and sending him sprawling across the arena.
The crowd erupted in cheers as the dust settled, revealing Mito standing victorious. Neji struggled to his feet, a look of disbelief in his eyes.
"How...?"
Neji was shaken by Mito's unwavering resolve. Mito extended a hand to Neji, a triumphant yet kind smile on her face.
"Because I never give up. That's my ninja way."
Neji hesitated, then took Mito's hand, pulling himself up. He had a newfound respect in his eyes.
"You've proven your point. Maybe destiny isn't as fixed as I thought."
As the proctor declared Mito the winner, the crowd's cheers grew louder. Mito had done more than just win a fight; she had shown everyone, including Neji, that with enough determination and belief in oneself, any destiny could be rewritten.
"Let's start the next battle. Shikamaru Nara VS Temari."
Shikamaru Nara came down with his hands in his pockets, his lazy demeanour masking a brilliant mind. Opposite him was Temari, her giant fan slung over her shoulder, her eyes sharp and focused.
"Begin!"
Temari wasted no time, unfurling her massive fan with a flick of her wrist.
"Let's see if you can handle this. Wind Style: Great Sickle Weasel Technique!"
She sent a powerful gust of wind blades toward Shikamaru. Shikamaru quickly dodged, his mind already working on a strategy. He started forming the seal for his Shadow Imitation Jutsu. His shadow extended, snaking across the ground toward Temari. Temari noticed the shadow and jumped back, her fan creating a barrier of wind to push it away.
"Your shadow won't reach me that easily."

"Shadow Possession Jutsu!"
His shadow connected with Temari's just as she was mid-swing. She froze, her movements mirroring his as the jutsu took hold. Temari struggled against the shadow's grip, frustration clear in her eyes.
"You...you tricked me!"
She realised too late that she had been lured into a trap. Shikamaru smirked, his usual laid-back expression replaced by one of focused determination.
"It's all about strategy. Now, let's end this."
With Temari immobilised, Shikamaru moved to secure his victory. He guided her to drop her fan and surrender. "
You fought well, Temari but this match is over. I surrender."
Everyone was shocked by this. Why had he given proctor stepped forward, raising his hand.
"Winner: Shikamaru Nara!"
The crowd erupted in applause. Shikamaru released his jutsu, allowing Temari to move freely again. She sighed, clearly disappointed but respectful.
"You got me. Good match."
Shikamaru shook her hand, his lazy smile returning.
"Thanks. You made me think more than I usually like to."
He earned a light laugh from Temari. As they left the arena, the spectators buzzed with excitement, having witnessed a battle where brains met brawn, and strategy triumphed over sheer force.
