Adrien sighed as he watched Rena Rouge and Carapace do a pound it. He missed Ladybug, he missed his partner. I wish we had a relationship like them, he thought to himself.
"Adrien?" he heard Natahlie call, and he exited the Ladyblog as she came into the room carrying a cheerfully decorated box. "Your friend Marinette from school left this package for you."
It wasn't his birthday, and Christmas was months away. Still, he rarely received personal packages from friends, unless they were fans. "Thank you, Nathalie."
He opened the package and found a pink note on the top and he read it out loud to Plagg.
Hey, Adrien,
I noticed you seem a little quieter and distracted in class lately, so I hope this cheers you up.
Your friend,
Marinette
Adrien smiled, running his hand over the ink where it said "Your Friend." She so sweet, he thought as he begin to dig through the contents of the box. The first package his fingers curled around was a yummy chocolate chip cookie with another note attached. "Don't worry if it doesn't make sense now, your a smart cookie, you'll figure it out."
Was this a care package, cause it was full of sweets and Adrien read the tags as he pulled out sweet confection after confection. I sure didn't have macron choice in having you for a friend.
Each sweet and note were sweeter then the last, and Adrien felt warm and happy all over. Then it hit him, there was a pun on every gift! Aw, his Princess hadn't only been listening when he punned, she was taking notes!
There was one last white box for Adrien to open, but when he lifted it, it was to heavy to be a pastry. He gasped as he lifted a small hand-made doll of his mother out of the box, finding a note attached.
I hope it isn't to much, but I thought you might like this if ever you needed a hug. I stuffed it with calming scents. I remember you showing me the picture of your mother on the piano, and I sketched it when I got home.
Adrien slept better then he had in weeks, and it was all thanks to Marinette.
When his driver dropped him off the next morning, he scanned the school crowd for her. "Hey, Marinette!" he called. She turned, her smile as beautiful as the rising sun. "Did you get the package-" her words were cut off as Adrien engulfed her in a hug, breathing in her sweet perfume.
"Thank you, Marinette," he whispered into her silky hair, "I really needed that." Marinette blinked for a second, then snuggled back into the hug.
It was nice to do something for your best friend, after all, especially when they really needed it. "Anytime, Adrien," she whispered back. "Anytime."
