I started this fic last year after I had my gf and her best friend watch the show with me on D+. We had a good time dissecting all the tropes together and we all came up with a few ideas for this fic. :)

Happy Pride!

Kim brushed her hair, trying to decide if she wanted to put it in a ponytail. As she gazed at herself in the mirror, she thought back to six months ago when she and Ron had both come home from college to celebrate the winter holidays with their families.

"Hana has to know the Christmas season won't be complete without 'Snowman Hank'!" Ron exclaimed as he jumped out of the car and dragged Kim into the Blockbuster. Ever since the year it was canceled by 'Xtreme Xmas,' Ron insisted they rent 'The Six Tasks of Snowman Hank' just in case it ever happened again.

"Ron, she's one and a half. I think there's plenty of time to indoctrinate her into the way of life."

"Exactly! Start them young, KP!"

Kim merely shook her head and smiled to herself as her boyfriend busied himself locating the coveted DVD. She entertained herself by pursuing the shelves to see if there was anything worth renting. As she rounded the corner through the D section, her heart skipped an uncomfortable beat when her eyes landed on the DVD titled "D.E.B.S."

Kim's newest college friend group recently insisted she watch the movie. Kim didn't see the big and agreed. There was going to be popcorn and who could turn down a salty snack? The movie itself was great– a little campy, but great. Of course, Kim didn't even know what the word 'camp' stood for before that night other than referring to summer camp. But beyond enjoying the movie, the content struck a chord with Kim.

Hero and villain duking it out just to realize there might be something more…

Had Kim enjoyed she and Shego's tête-à-têtes too much? They were certainly the only things that really challenged her– aside from giant robots. Plus Shego was the only villain whose banter felt… right.

Kim then spent the next few months obsessing and researching and (regretfully) dodging Ron. She loved Ron, so why did this matter? Sure, she was still just eighteen, but she and Ron? They'd been through everything together. He's the one person who knew her best. So if she maybe liked girls, too? It was too late to figure that out, right? She was committed.

As her research spiraled, she couldn't stop thinking that even though she was committed, it did sort of still matter to her. This was a part of her identity. So she resolved to tell Ron on their Christmas break. It wasn't something she wanted to do over the phone.

Now here she was, at the beginning of Christmas break, standing in a Blockbuster, and still avoiding the subject with Ron. She took a deep breath and took the movie to the counter.

Ron was already in line, "Snowman Hank" in hand.

"Watcha got there?" Ron asked, attempting to pluck the empty movie case from Kim's hands.

"Just a movie," Kim dodged, holding it to her chest. "For later."

Ron cocked his head at her suspiciously, but let it slide.

They paid for their respective movies and got back in the car.

Kim's heart was pounding. If she couldn't tell Ron, who could she tell?

Ron continued to chatter on about the holiday season, seemingly oblivious to Kim's anxiety.

"Oooh, and of course your mom's hot coco, that's a must."

Her mom. Maybe she could get a moment alone with her if she…

"You know, my dad and the tweebs could probably use some help with the decoration set up this year. I know they're not quite finished." It wasn't exactly a lie. They weren't finished. But they also hadn't exactly asked for help.

"All over it, KP. Now that Ron Stoppable has a semester of college under his belt, I think it's high time he was allowed to help with set up."

The second they arrived, Ron hopped out and booked it to where the three Possible guys were discussing voltage.

Kim knew this would buy her at least ten minutes with her mom, so she quickly got out of her car and dashed into the house. She found her mom in the kitchen, starting to prepare the famous hot chocolate.

"Hey, Kimmie. Back from the movie store? I see you found something for yourself." Ann Possible indicated the movie clutched in her hand. She's completely forgotten she was holding it, but… it was as good of a segue as she was gonna get.

"Do you have a sec for a serious talk?" Kim asked, her voice coming out softer than she intended.

Her mom looked concerned instantly. "Of course, honey. Is everything alright? Things with Ron?"

"What? I mean, yeah! Things with Ron are fine- great even! I just… it's related to Ron… I guess? In a way…"

Her mom sat down and pulled Kim down with her. "Breathe. Start from the beginning."

Kim put the movie down in front of them. "I may have… realized something about myself while I was away."

Her mom looked at her encouragingly and motioned for her to continue.

"I think I may… also like girls?"

Her mom leaned back a bit, absorbing this news. "Does Ron know?"

Kim slumped in her seat and covered her face with her hands. "I don't know how to tell him."

"Well, are you breaking up with him?" Her mom asked, gently placing a hand on her back.

"No!" Kim exclaimed, pulling her hands down, "no of course not!"

"Then honey, I don't think Ron will have a problem. He loves you. All of you."

"And… you don't think it's… weird?"

Her mom took a beat before answering. "It's not something I was expecting— you've always been boy crazy— but no, Kim. I don't think it's weird."

Kim let out a sigh, letting herself deflate a bit in her seat. "Do you think I should tell Dad?"

"Your father loves you no matter what. But you know he's always a bit strange when it comes to you dating. He'll probably react how he usually does about this kind of thing."

Kim gave a small laugh. "True."

"I could always tell him if you want," her mom offered.

"Nah, I better do it." Kim got up from the table. "Thanks for listening, Mom."

Telling her dad the next day went exactly how she and her mom expected it to go. "You know I'm always your biggest ally, Kimmie Cub."

That left Ron. And thinking about it put knots in her stomach. Her mom was probably right. Ron was always on her side no matter what. But on the other hand, this was completely unexpected and she knew it.

She spoke to her parents and— with a little bit of prodding her dad— they acquiesced to allowing Kim and Ron time alone in the Possible house.

When Ron arrived he was thrown off by Kim being the only one home, but he rolled with it.

"'Sup, KP? Where's the fam?"

"I… uh… asked them for some time with you," Kim told him, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Oh… OH… um…" Ron started to giggle nervously, rubbing the back of his neck.

Kim blushed, realizing what Ron thought was happening.

"No! Not for that. No, I'd never ask my parents for that."

"Oh thank goodness," Ron heaved a sigh of relief before going back into panic mode. "Not that I don't want to! It's just-"

"Ron, it's fine. I get it," Kim said, giving him a smile. "I just… I have something to tell you."

"What is it?"

"Why don't we sit?" Kim gestured to the couch in the living room.

Ron complied, looking to her to start the conversation she knew they needed to have.

Kim gingerly sat down next to him, stomach full of nerves.

"I want to start with the fact that this changes nothing between us, okay? You're my boyfriend and I love you."

Ron, uncharacteristically speechless, just nodded.

"While we were each away at college, I discovered something about myself," she began. "And I…" Kim closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and opened her eyes again. "I wanted to tell you that I am pansexual."

"You're… attracted to pans?" Ron asked, confused.

Kim let out an exasperated sigh. "No, Ron. That's not what it means."

"Okay good. I mean, I'm willing to try new things and all, but I'm not quite sure how that one would go."

Kim couldn't help, but smile just a little. He was a dork, but he was her dork.

"So what does it mean?" Ron asked.

"It means I'm attracted to anyone regardless of gender," Kim told him. "But like I said, that doesn't change anything between us… at least, it doesn't for me."

"Why would that change anything between us for me?" Ron asked with sincerity.

"Some people wouldn't feel comfortable dating someone like me once they found out," Kim said, a little sadness creeping into her voice.

"Kim," Ron said softly, taking her hand "I love you. This doesn't change anything for me either."

"I'm glad," Kim said beaming.

"Although, I guess it changes one thing," Ron said, a pensive look on his face.

Kim blanched. "What's that?"

"Gonna have to grab some Pride gear and make sure neither one of us is working on Pride weekend!"

Kim, unable to speak and filled with adoration for her boyfriend, wrapped Ron up in a bearhug. "Thank you for understanding."

Returning to the present, Kim decided the ponytail would be a good idea due to the heat. She checked her outfit— jean shorts and the brand new crop top she'd bought at Club Banana for Pride. It was white with little rainbows dotting the fabric. It was already flashier than what she'd normally wear, but she'd wanted to try something a bit out of her comfort zone. She was already nervous to go to the Pride Festival. Of course, she wasn't going alone.

"Kim! Ronald is here!" Her dad called.

"On my way!" She shouted back as she descended the steps from her room. Rounding the corner and coming down the second floor staircase, she was stopped in her tracks at the sight of her boyfriend.

"Um… Ron? What are you wearing?"

"The Ron man never does anything halfway, KP," he said, flashing his new duds. He was in a rainbow striped button up that opened to reveal a black tank with the words "in June we wear rainbows" with an obnoxiously large rainbow in the middle, and matching rainbow striped shorts. He was even sporting rainbow sunglasses and rainbow striped shoes and socks. The look was topped off with the numerous Pride flag temporary tattoos he had covering any exposed skin. "Look! There's you!" He exclaimed, pointing to a pan flag near his right elbow.

Kim flushed with a mixture of embarrassment and gratitude. "Yep, that's me."

"We better get going, I hear parking can be a nightmare," Ron said, escorting her to his new scooter. He'd had to buy a new one after his last one was destroyed by Lorwardian attack robots last May.

Once the couple made it inside the festival, they both found it extremely overwhelming in different ways. Kim had never seen so many rainbows in her life. Not to mention the pulsing music and large crowd. Ron was overwhelmed by a different matter.

"Look at all the food trucks!" He exclaimed. "Oh… it can't be!"

"What?"

"Bueno Nacho has a food truck here!"

"Woohoo!" Rufus cheered, popping out of Ron's pocket. "Bueno Nacho!"

"Ron, that line is a mile long and you just had breakfast. I promise we can come back," Kim reasoned.

Ron looked downtrodden, but only for a second. "Okay, KP. This is your day, after all."

"What? No, we're here together. It's an us activity," Kim said, a little uncomfortable with the implications. She didn't want today to be about her. She wanted today to be a day she and Ron shared.

"Then let's check out some MERCH!" Ron exclaimed, happily jogging toward a vendor tent.

"Welcome to the Kink Tent, where aaaaaall your fantasies can be tended to," the vendor said in an extremely rehearsed tone.

"Mr… Barkin?" Ron and Kim asked simultaneously.

The man—who was indeed Mr. Barkin— lowered the index card he'd been reading off of. "Stoppable. Possible."

"Uhhhh what are you doing here?" Ron asked cautiously.

"A buddy of mine asked me to cover his booth. There was an ahhhhhhh… incident in the playroom."

Just then, a beeping alarm went off on Mr. Barkin's watch. His face dropped.

"I have to do a demo every two hours. Stoppable. Thank you for volunteering."

"But I-"

Before Ron could protest any further, Mr. Barkin pulled out a thick, red silk rope and started tying it in intricate knots around Ron.

"This is the shibari method…"

As Mr. Barkin continued his demonstration, two familiar faces sidled up next to the booth.

"What is he trying to do?" Shego asked Kim.

"Shibari method?" Kim answered, unsure.

"No, no, no. You're doing it all wrong," Shego announced. "Here, it's like this."

Suddenly, Kim was watching Shego take over tying up her boyfriend. She tried to not to feel things about that, instead opting to address Drakken.

"What brings you two to Pride?"

"What? Don't think we're HIP enough to come to the festival?" Drakken asked.

"No! I mean, suuuure. I just meant… are you here just for fun or…?"

"Oh! Shego and I are in the community!" Drakken told her proudly. "The bisexual squad, if you will. Plus Shego has recently told me she's polyamorous."

"Poly-who?" Kim asked.

"POLYAMOROUS, Kim Possible. Catch UP. Shego is fully committed to me— still an adjustment for the both of us if I'm honest— but she's capable of being committed to other people at the same time."

"Other people? Isn't that, like, cheating?" Kim asked.

"Absolutely NOT. We have open and honest conversations at least once a month about the arrangement and she is open to more if I need them," Drakken explained.

Polyamorous…

By the time Kim looked back at the booth, the scene in front of her had changed. Shego had Ron curled up on the ground, the ball of her foot gently on his back in an obvious domineering position.

Kim's mouth went dry. "O-Kay, please release my boyfriend," Kim said haltingly.

"Sure thing, Princess," Shego said obligingly as she immediately started to untie the ropes. "Besides, Drakken and I don't need anything from this booth. We've got a better selection back in the lair."

Don't think about it, don't think about it, do NOT think about it!

"O-oh… well… good to see you? I guess," Kim stuttered out, reaching for Ron.

"Aw cute. Kimmie's shy. You're an adult now, Princess. You know what I'm talking about," Shego said with a wink.

Kim watched as the couple walked away.

"What was that all about? Why are Shego and Drakken at Pride?" Ron asked.

"They're both bisexual," Kim said, hesitating before also telling him, "and Shego is also polyamorous."

"Ohhhhh yeah okay. That makes sense," Ron replies nonchalantly.

"It does?" Kim asked in surprise.

"Sure! Wade and I did a lot of late night research sessions about the LGBTQ community. Looooots of discourse about polyamory being a part of the community. But I can definitely see it for Shego. That's a whole 'lotta woman."

Kim's eyes followed Shego curiously. "Huh."

Ron scuffed his right shoe through the grass. "You know… you're a whole 'lotta woman, yourself…"

Kim looked up at him, bewildered. "I-what?"

"Kim, I know you love me. You've always made that clear. But… I saw the way you looked at Shego. Like, maybe she knows something you don't and that you want to know more about. If… if you were also poly, I'd understand."

"I don't know…"

"I'm gonna get in line for Bueno Nacho. Come find me when you're done."

Kim watched him go, mouth agape. Ron had clearly seen something she hadn't realized was happening, because… well… as she though about it… he wasn't wrong.

"Shego, wait!" Kim called after the pair sauntering away.

"What's up?" Shego asked, turning to face her.

"Drakken mentioned… you know… that… uh… the…"

"Spit it out, Princess," Shego jabbed playfully.

"The polyamory thing?" Kim practically whispered.

Shego's eyes lit up in interest. "I'm listening."

"I…" Kim took a deep breath. This was just Shego. She could say anything to her, it's not like it mattered. They had been rivals and now they were… something. Whatever! "Maybe you could tell me more some time?"

Shego grinned widely. "I'd be happy to."

Kim's stomach did a somersault as she and Shego agreed to meet tomorrow at a cafe a town over.

As the two women turned away from each other to rejoin the festivities, Shego called over her shoulder, "see you there, Princess."

Let me know what you think!
