Previously On Big Surprise:

Wendy shakes off the thought then answers, "Sure we can come over after dinner as I'm making it now and Jax isn't home yet. Is that okay?"

Gemma looks over at Nero he just nods his head. "Okay then see you guys soon." With that said she hangs up her phone wondering how in the hell she's going to tell them this.

Chapter 3: Telling The News

8pm: Gemma's House

Gemma's standing there nervously on her kitchen floor she just got off the phone again with Wendy who was letting Gemma know that she, Jax and Abel would be over to the house in a few minutes. Gemma is very nervous how Wendy and Jax will take her news after all this is news was very unexpected to both her and Nero they are still trying to get used to it themselves. They also need to still tell Lucius, but he's asleep at the moment.

Just then a knock comes at the door, Gemma in her head says They're here the nervousness in Gemma's stomach is making her queasy so she munches on some crackers hoping it'll go away. The knock at the door comes again, Gemma nodded her head at Nero motioning for him to let them in, Nero opens the door revealing Wendy, Jax and Abel who smiles in delight upon seeing Gemma "Hey sweetheart, how's is my grandson?" She says happily as she picks him kissing him on the cheek.

The older woman goes over to Wendy, Jax kissing them on their cheeks "Hey guys" Jax smiled at his mother, and says "Hey mom, so what's the big emergency?" Wendy added "Yeah Gemma what's going on?" Gemma plays with her hands nervously thinking I can't do this, I need a cigarette but thinks better instead getting some water while trying to calm herself down, she motions everyone over to the table "sit down" Gemma and Nero join them at the table. They all sat looking at Gemma giving her their full attention waiting for her to speak.

Taking a deep breath Gemma glances at all of them trying to decide how to break the news, she looks to Nero for support he looks at her, taking her hand and squeezes it gently as he whispers in her ear "It'll be okay" she smiles at him.

A few more minutes Gemma begins speaking "I don't know how to start this so I'm just going to say it, I'm pregnant" she announced waiting for Wendy and Jax's reactions, but at the same time a little scared too. Wendy and Jax's mouths fall open in shock and their eyes widen as they say "What?" in unison. After some silence Jax spoke up "Mom, are you sure?" Gemma nods "Yes baby, I'm sure it's true I took 2 tests they were positive, here see for yourself" She hands Jax the tests looking down at them he sees that all of them have the two lines in the window, he doesn't know what to say but thinks in mind so much for thinking those things are wrong

Wendy on the other hand goes over to Gemma and hugs her saying "Congratulations, I'm so happy for you and Nero" Gemma kisses Wendy's cheek then says "thank you, sweetheart" As Jax watches his mother and wife embrace each other he can't help, but give them a peculiar look as he speaks calmly "Mom I love you, but I'm really worried about this pregnancy what with your age and heart condition are sure you want to go through with the pregnancy and keep the baby?" Gemma looks over at him angrily "how you the hell could you even ask me that!" she takes a deep breath "you think I can't raise another child?" Jax starts to speak "Mom..I" but Gemma cuts him off "Damn you Jackson can't you just be happy for me for once?" She questioned now standing up next Nero and Wendy. "Mom, I think you should get an abortion I don't want you go through what you did with Tommy" Hearing this Gemma walked over to Jax slapping him across the face. "I can't believe you just said that, I will not ever do that, this is mine and Nero's baby and I want it and you can't talk me out of it you either except it or you don't end of story"

Gemma's now breathing heavily from her outburst on Jax, Nero goes over to grab her before she fell "ooh I'm a bit dizzy" Wendy walks over to help Nero with Gemma they sat her down in the chair as they both look at Jax's angrily. Wendy's mind is spinning thinking I can't believe Jax told her to get an abortion, what is wrong with him? I know he's concerned, but he didn't have to go there, I'm going to have a talk with him about this

Nero is also angry with Jax, but for now he's letting it go because he's more concerned about Gemma and their baby, but he's definitely going to have a talk with him and he's sure Wendy will be doing that as well. A few minutes later Jax and Wendy announce "We're going to leave now so you two can have sometime alone" Gemma has her hand on her head trying to get rid of her dizziness while Nero is sitting across from her trying to comfort her by holding her hand. Jax and Wendy go into Gemma's room where the boys have fallen asleep they pick them up and carry them out.

Nero gets up to let Jax and Wendy out of the house as they are leaving Wendy whispers to Nero "I'll talk to him" Nero nods his head "okay thanks" Nero shuts the door quietly and goes back to Gemma whose still at the table, he picks her up in his arms and carries her to their bedroom laying her gently down onto the bed, he covers her up and kisses her on her forehead whispering "I love you, Mama" Nero then gets into the bed and under the covers and moves over to Gemma taking her in his arms holding her close as he soon drifts off to sleep himself.

8am:

The next morning Gemma awakes to Nero holding her, she smiles at him asleep beside her, she tries to move, but that wakens him up "Hey beautiful, did you sleep okay?" He asks sleepily as he caresses her cheek with his finger. He looks at him "No I didn't I had a dream that my son told me to get an abortion because he didn't think I could raise another child" Nero chuckles "babe that was true and not a dream" She groans in response "I know, but it seems like it was a dream you know I still can't believe Jax's being an asshole about the whole thing" Nero nods his head in agreement.

The couple stays in bed talking and holding each other when Nero decides to get some coffee for himself as he going into the kitchen he stops and looks at Gemma asking "Baby, you want anything from the kitchen I'm gonna get some coffee?" Gemma yawns as she sleepily replies "yeah tea and some dry toast and some of the strawberry jello in a cup you know the ones you bought earlier I'm feeling a bit nauseous" Nero questioned "morning sickness?" Gemma answered simply "Yeah"

Meanwhile over at Jax and Wendy's Abel already up having breakfast, Jax and Wendy are as well, Wendy figures this is a good time to bring up what happened at Gemma's last night to him. "Jax" she says getting his attention, he looked at her wondering what she wants to talk about now. "Yeah what's up?" He asks as gets his coffee from the machine."What happened at your mother's last night" she starts, Jax stopped her "Wendy come on not this shit again I already said my peace to my mother and to you for that matter" Wendy sighed "Jax come on what is your problem?" She questioned. "You already know what my problem is with this whole thing my mother's too old and she's got a deadly heart condition, not to mention she already lost one child to it I don't want that to happen to this baby too" Wendy is trying to stay calm because Abel is near them and she doesn't want to get him upset. "Jax's you're being ridiculous just because she lost one child doesn't mean it'll happen this time and besides that you're alive"

Jax sits down on the couch exhaling sharply thinking she does have a point Wendy sat down beside him taking his hand "Jax please just be happy for her I know it's going to be weird with the huge age difference and all, but she's got Nero to help raise the baby, he's a great guy, he loves her and she loves him and he won't let anything happen to her if he can help it" Jax considers everything Wendy has said, he just nods "Okay you have a lot of points there, I know I was being an asshole I was just scared you know she's my mother and I love her, she's all I've got" Wendy nodded in understanding "I know and I get that you're concerned for her, but she'll be okay she's a strong woman she can handle it" Jax replies "Yeah she is"

Jax kisses Wendy and Abel who is in Wendy's arms goodbye and heads over to his mother's home, he arrives there within a few minutes knocking on the door he waits for the door to be opened, inside the house Gemma and Nero are cuddling together when they hear the knocking they both exchanged glances at each other asking "wonder who that is" Gemma shrugged her shoulders as Nero got up announcing "I'll get the door" Gemma says "okay"

Nero goes to door, opening it to see Jax's standing there "I gotta talk to my mother do you mind letting me in?" Nero looks at him angrily "Look Mano after what you did last night, I'm not sure Gemma wants to even see you right now" Jax looks down at the ground in shame then back up at Nero "I know, look please Wendy talked with me about all this and let's just say she knocked some sense into me" Nero eyed him suspiciously.

"She really did" Jax replies truthfully. Taking a deep breath, Nero lets the younger man into the house, Jax sits down at the kitchen table as Nero goes into Gemma's room she looks up at him as he announces "You got a visitor, babe" Gemma lays down her book and takes off her glasses as she asks "who is it?" Nero replies in a simple voice "Jax"
